Practice 3: Wonder – What does it mean for us to regularly be taken aback by God's glory? How can we continue to be held in wonder at the sheer...
We discuss the best and worst songs from ”Wonder What's Next” by Chevelle. Let us know your thoughts about these songs and follow us on Facebook and X. Please support Chevelle by purchasing and streaming this album wherever you pay for music! We have a Spotify playlist containing this album and all albums discussed on The Album Argument Podcast: https://spoti.fi/3ddbwaL.
After a little detour and something a little different on our last episode, we are back to covering a regular album this month, and what a regular album it is, as we take a peek at Chevelle's major label debut "Wonder What's Next", an album with two MASSIVE singles and a whole swath of drama. You see, Chevelle at this point in time consists of 3 brothers, the Loefflers. And they don't exactly like each other. Or more specifically, they hate Joe. We dig into all the contention amongst the bandmates and how this record went on to go double platinum without either of us feeling like it's a true touchstone album in the genre. We also take a long, hard look at the 2024 Sick New World lineup, which sees the festival already sold out despite the lineup not really delivering on the promise of Year 1's lineup, or the promise of a nu-metal festival, really. If you want a true festival of nu-metal, head on over to patreon.com/thepodkast, where $4/month gets you THREE bonus episodes every single month. Last month was an iconic one on the Patreon, as Riv from Nu-Metal Agenda joined us to present our Nu-Metal Bang List. That's right, we each created a 5-song nu-metal playlist to have sex to, and the results were varied and probably pretty surprising. We also have merch discounts, an exclusive Discord, and a $7 tier that gets you all the bonus episodes in video format. Plus! You can tell us what to cover for a bonus episode. Check it out!

In Newcastle they drew attention to the exported coal which is fuelling climate chaos.. In BRisbane, Sydney and Melbourne climbers were suspended over container ports. They are throwing down the gauntlet to our system based on high carbon lifestyles and consumerism. We talk to Niebh to learn why.About - Blockade Australia Fear and Wonder produced by Michael Green and Dr Joelle Gergis for The ConversationThe concept of "loss and damage" was debated at the United Nations COP27 climate summit in Egypt in November 2022 – which resulted in an historic agreement to establish a loss and damage fund to compensate countries that are most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. In our final episode of Fear & Wonder, we hear from Senegalese meteorologist Aïda Diongue-Niang, who called us from COP27. She explains how African nations are already highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. She also takes us inside the gruelling final approval session of the IPCC's Synthesis Report. Her behind-the-scenes account reveals the dedication and determination of the scientists involved. We also hear from Mauritanian public health expert Guéladio Cissé, who details how more intense rainfall is already increasing the risk of water-borne and vector-borne diseases. Finally, we recap what we've learned throughout this podcast. We reflect on how the event that sparked its creation – the Australian Black Summer bushfires of 2019–20 – has inspired survivors to fight for climate action.Humanity's Moment by Joelle GergisIf you'd like to support the Climate Council and receive your free copy of Joelle's book Humanity's Moment, click here: https://bit.ly/40sQ4BP.

Discussed in this episode: What does it mean to "wonder more worry less?" No more holding back from exploring our divine self, following our true hearts desire and focusing on what matters most. We don’t have to listen to that voice in our head that tells us we’re “not enough.” I’d like to invite you on a 22-day challenge that will allow you the space to experience who you truly are without all the fear and doubt. Wonder more worry less is your opportunity to awaken your natural childlike curiosity, courageously tap into your source energy and compassionately connect with your truth. By the time you complete the challenge you will have unlocked your potential for loving yourself, connecting to your inner voice of truth, living by faith and getting shit done. I’d like you to consider that we all have two voices inside of us, the voice of wonder and the voice of worry. In order to successfully accomplish this 22-day challenge we are going to need to connect with both our voice of wonder and our voice of worry; but you have the choice to wonder more and worry less. My intention is to give you tools and strategies from my personal experiences to empower you along this journey and beyond.
