Send a textWhat happens when a ski champion, science skeptic, and seeker for meaning discovers the bridge between quantum physics and spiritual growth?Philippe Brouillard, bestselling author, speaker, and founder of Vida Quantum, grew up surrounded by Buddha statues and crystals in the '80s—yet his journey led him from national mogul ski competitions and seven-figure clinic success to complete burnout and disconnection. What followed was a relentless quest for answers: from extreme sports to drugs and therapy, from functional medicine to finishing his PhD in consciousness science. In this episode, Philippe shares:How his scientific upbringing and spiritual roots shaped his worldviewThe pivotal moment when quantum science made spirituality tangibleWhy skepticism fueled his lifelong search for “why” behind every spiritual toolThe SOURCE Formula: confronting perception and reality for profound transformationWhat coherence looks like in the brain and nervous system when we reconnect with onenessHow quantum principles reframe trauma as evolution—not sufferingThe difference between pleasure and happiness, and why superficial spiritual “quick fixes” fall shortThe deeper challenge of New Age spirituality: are we consuming or truly evolving?Philippe reminds us that asking “why” brings meaning—and that embracing uncertainty and evolution is central to awakening. Whether you're a curious skeptic, a spiritual seeker, or navigating life's biggest challenges, this conversation will transform the way you see science, spirituality, and your own potential for happiness. In this powerful and honest conversation, Dr Olivia Kessel is joined by parenting coach Alison Solomon to explore one uncomfortable truth: what if the biggest shift in our child's behaviour has nothing to do with them and everything to do with us?Alison shares the moment she calls the “arrow through the heart,” when she realised her child was not the problem, her reaction was. From that moment, everything changed. In this episode, we explore:• What actually happens in the brain when a child is dysregulated • Why adding logic to an emotional brain makes things worse • The power of silence and when to stop talking • How to create emotional safety at home • Why oppositional traits may be future strengths • The “golden apology” and how modelling accountability builds resilienceThis is not about blame. It is about empowerment.Because when we regulate first, everything else begins to shift. If you have ever found yourself talking more and getting nowhere, this episode will land.

Is positive psychology real science… or just another version of “just think positive” that ignores real stress? In this episode of the Free to Be Mindful Podcast, Vanessa De Jesus Guzman sits down with positive psychology expert Diane Lang to explore what the research actually says about gratitude, resilience, mindset, and positive aging. If you are raising kids, juggling work, navigating midlife changes, or feeling stretched thin, you may have wondered whether practices like gratitude really make a difference. Is it toxic positivity? Or is there measurable science behind it?This conversation breaks down:The difference between positive psychology and forced positivityWhy we need three positive emotions to balance one negativeHow gratitude rewires the brain over timeThe role belief systems play in midlife transitions and agingWhy lifestyle and mindset influence longevity more than we thinkPositive psychology does not deny grief, anxiety, or depression. It works alongside therapy, medication, and traditional treatment to build emotional resilience and long-term wellbeing. For moms navigating stress, perimenopause, identity shifts, and the invisible load of family life, this episode offers practical, research-backed habits that are realistic, free, and sustainable.THREE KEY TAKEAWAYS1. Positive psychology is evidence-based and practical. It strengthens resilience without dismissing pain. It is about building emotional capacity, not pretending everything is fine.2. Gratitude and kindness shift your brain over time. Consistent daily practices improve sleep, mood, and stress recovery by retraining your negativity bias.3. Positive aging starts with mindset. Genetics play a role, but lifestyle, belief systems, relationships, and daily habits have significant influence over how we age physically and emotionally.Connect with Diane: https://dianelang.org/ If this episode challenged your thinking or shifted your perspective, share it with another mom who may need it.Because the more good we train our brains to notice, the more grounded we become. In a world where you are free to be anything, you are always free to be mindful.Send a textSupport the show120 COPING SKILLShttps://www.freetobemindful.com/podcast-120copingskillsGET THE MUSE HEADBAND AT A DISCOUNT!https://choosemuse.com/freetobemindfulUse this link to get 15% off your total when you purchase the amazing brain sensing headband that tells you when you're in a meditative state and guides you to improve your practice.LET'S STAY CONNECTED:

Cut the Fluff, Keep the Gold: How to Edit for Your Audience

In this episode, I'm walking you through why great podcast editing doesn't start with software, plugins, or secret shortcuts — it starts with knowing your audience. Once you're crystal clear on who you're talking to and what they value, editing becomes a lot easier: you simply remove anything that wastes their time or doesn't deliver value.Editing For ContentI'll share examples from real interviews (including Amy Poehler's “Good Hang” and conversations with my friends Daniel J. Lewis and Katie Krimitsos) to show how to tighten up questions, trim rambling answers, and keep the pace moving so your listeners stay engaged from start to finish. If you've ever listened back to your show and thought, “It's fine…but something feels off,” this one's for you.---Where To start?Editing starts with your audience, not your software Why the first question is, “Who am I talking to and what do they want?” How knowing your audience's problems, language, and attention span guides every cut. The “vegetarian at dinner” analogy: if you know who's coming, you know what not to serve.Did they actually answer the question?Using Amy Poehler's friend and Jennifer Lawrence as an example of a non-answer answer. How to spot when guests talk *around* a question instead of answering it.When to follow up, when to re-ask more simply, and when to just fix it in the edit.Cut the fluff, keep the valueTrimming long-winded questions where the host gives too much backstory.Shortening guest answers that wander, repeat, or add no value to the listener. Why you don't need to include your guest “thinking out loud” to get to the point.Friends, comfort, and wasted timeHow being comfortable with guests (friends, colleagues) can lead to bloated conversations. Why “fun to say” isn't the same as “valuable to hear” for your audience. The discipline of deleting entire questions and answers that just don't land.Content editing vs. cosmetic editing Why removing bad questions is more powerful than removing ums and uhs. When it makes sense to leave in human imperfections for a natural feel. The mindset shift from “How do I make this cleaner?” to “How do I make this stronger?”Basic audio cleanup that actually matters A practical order of operations: repair first, then shape the sound. What plosives, noise gates, compression, EQ, and de-essers do in plain English. Why “listenable”

Deconstructing Talent Velocity: Cutting Through the Fluff of LinkedIn's 2026 Report

Learning Tech Talks

People in the corporate world are buzzing this week after LinkedIn released it's latest report introducing the latest buzzword "Talent Velocity." However, it's worth noting this is more than just buzz. The data reveals a much more sobering reality that shouldn't come as a surprise. 86% of companies are stuck in neutral or burned out the clutch while 14% of organizations are racing ahead. In summary, the vast majority are spinning their wheels "planning" transformation rather than executing it. While many are quick to claim it's a technology problem, it's clear we've got a crisis of organizational metabolism.  This week, I'm deconstructing the massive 2026 LinkedIn Talent Report, based on data from 1 billion members and 14 million jobs, not as a news update, but as a reality check. I explain why this report may not come as a "discovery" of new trends for many, but a validation of the things we've known for years but continue to fail to act on. I'm also stripping away the HR buzzwords to show you why "velocity" isn't about moving faster; it's about getting surgical about the friction that is currently burning out your workforce.  My goal is to move you out of "Planning" to "Progressing" by exposing the specific blind spots, from bad data to American complacency, that are keeping you in the 86%. The Validation Gap (No More Excuses): We've known for years that skills matter more than titles, yet most companies are still just "talking" about it. I break down why the "Leaders" aren't smarter than you—they just treat talent agility as a business imperative rather than an HR project, leading to massive gains in confidence around profitability.   The "American" Blind Spot (Data Arrogance): We love to think we are leading the charge, but the data proves otherwise. I call out the uncomfortable truth that North America is lagging far behind APAC (22% vs. 41%) in skills-based planning, and why relying on static job descriptions means your AI strategy is effectively hallucinating.   The "Human" Premium (S-Tier Change Management): You cannot add velocity to a system that is already at max capacity. I dive into my own contribution to the report regarding "S-Tier Change Management" and explain why the companies winning at AI are actually 5.5x more focused on "Building Trust" than their competitors.  By the end, I hope you see this data not as a reason to feel behind, but as a blueprint for subtraction. You cannot simply "add" AI to a broken system; you have to do the surgical work of removing the friction first.⸻If this conversation helps you think more clearly about the future we're building, make sure to like, share, and subscribe. What if building a great culture isn't about perks, personalities, or one big initiative—but about the small, intentional choices leaders make every single day?In this episode of the LeadCulture Podcast, Jenni Catron sits down with Anthony Lambatos, President of Footers Catering & Events and founder of MIBE (Make It Better Every Day), to unpack what it really takes to create a workplace where people thrive—and why culture must be treated as a daily discipline, not a one-time project.Anthony shares the behind-the-scenes story of transforming Footers from a high-stress, old-school hospitality environment into one of the most recognized “Best Places to Work” in Colorado. Along the way, he reveals the pivotal mindset shift that changed everything: realizing his job wasn't just to run events—it was to create an environment where people could do their best work and grow as humans.Together, Jenni and Anthony explore:Why serving your people first leads to better results for customers, clients, and the bottom lineHow leaders unintentionally stall culture by hoping it will “stick” without ongoing focusThe four convictions that shaped Footers' culture—and how they show up in real, practical waysWhy language, onboarding, and everyday behaviors matter more than perks or benefitsHow leaders at every level can (and must) take ownership of protecting the cultureIf you're a leader who feels the gap between the culture you want and the one you're currently experiencing, this conversation offers both clarity and hope. You don't need a complete overhaul—you need one intentional step forward.Because great cultures aren't built overnight. This week, Susy kicks things off with a rant about a major change in Google's search algorithm. Due to new AI involvement , the podcast's 462 previous episodes are no longer easily searchable, as the new system requires full transcripts to mine data. Susy explains her new process for posting transcripts and asks listeners who can't find an old episode to private message her directly for a link. The hosts also field a listener question about the Penelo comb brush. They describe it as a "hybrid brush" with cone-shaped tines and share their favorite ways to use it, such as for detangling and helping to shed double-coated dogs during drying.Next, Susy and Bbird dive into the November 2025 issue of Groomer to Groomer magazine. Highlights include: A discussion (sparked by the October cat issue ) on the benefits of having owners assist during cat grooming. Reviewing an article on "Pet Owners an Underutilized Resource" , leading to a debate on the pros and cons of owners brushing at home. Their pick for the best article: "The Theory Behind the Fluff" by Dylan Gonzalez, which details Asian Fusion styling. Other favorites: an article on exercises at the grooming table , the "flippy dryer" pet peeve article by Jennifer Bishop Jenkins , and Daryl Connor's piece on dryer maintenance. A look at the All American competition winners , including the Day of the Dead-themed People's Choice winner and explanations of the "Compassionate Groomer" and "Clipper Challenge" categories. Finally, the episode provides an in-depth breakdown of Results Rinse , a product Barbara helped Show Season develop. Barbara explains it is an acidifier with detangling ability designed for use when traditional conditioning is too heavy. They cover its many uses:Restoring springiness to coats (like Bichons) without adding weight. Clarifying the coat and removing product buildup or smoke odors. Controlling odor by lowering the skin's pH. Speeding up drying time.         Locking in creative color by closing the hair cuticle. They also share application tips, including using it in a recirculating system or as a pour-through rinse , and Suzy's favorite "magic bullet" combo: mixing it with Best Shot The Max.

If you don't listen to your employees, they'll stop talking, and that's when culture begins to break down.”Resources for ListenersGallup – State of the Global Workplace Report (for engagement and retention insights)SHRM: The Importance of Stay Interviews – SHRM ResourceDisney Institute Blog (for leadership and culture lessons inspired by Disney)Connect with Diane YarbroughWebsite: castawayandcompany.com)LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/dianeyarboroughEmail: diane@castawayandcompany.com

Light a Candle (or Two)Instantly changes the mood — cozy, intentional, welcomingDistracts from dust, clutter, or pet smellsChoose scents that smell clean (citrus, linen, herbs) rather than heavy perfumeBonus: dim the lights a bit — candlelight hides a multitude of sins2. Clear the EntrywayFirst impression zone — it matters mostScoop up shoes, boots, coats, and bags — toss into a basket/closetStraighten the rug, sweep quickly if neededEven a vase of grocery store flowers makes it feel “ready for company”3. Wipe the Bathroom Sink and Swap the Hand TowelGuests almost always use the bathroom — it's a giveaway spaceWipe toothpaste, water spots, and fingerprints off sink and mirrorReplace hand towel with a fresh, clean one (even if from the linen closet)Quick check for toilet paper roll and a candle in the corner = instant polish4. Fluff the Couch Cushions and Toss on a ThrowMessy sofa = messy house in people's mindsQuick karate-chop the pillows (design trick: makes them look plumped)Smooth cushions and throws — or just throw a blanket over a problem spotAdds a “styled on purpose” look in seconds5. Do the Dishes DashClear sink is visual shorthand for “I keep a clean house”Load dishwasher fast — no sorting, just stashNo dishwasher? Dirty dishes into oven (yes, it works — just don't forget them!)Wipe sink basin — shiny sink distracts from messy counters6. Vacuum Lines — Even If You Don't Vacuum the Whole HouseGuests see the living room rug first — run the vacuum in a gridVisible lines = fresh clean illusion, even if dust bunnies are still hidingIf no time for full vacuum, at least hit high-traffic spots (entry + living room)Sound of vacuum running before guests arrive also works psychological magic7.
