That’s the reality Kevin Foster, a decorated law enforcement veteran in Texas, knows all too well. After 45 years on the job, Foster’s story is not just about service and sacrifice, but about survival in the aftermath of violence. In 2009, Fort Worth unveiled a million-dollar memorial commemorating its fallen heroes, an effort that meant a great deal to Foster.
