Hey friends! In this personal episode, I'm sharing a behind-the-scenes look at my summer journey. I've been focusing on mindfulness, avoiding rushing through the season, and protecting my energy during our time in the Midwest. This summer has been about intentional living - from setting boundaries in social situations to experimenting with my diet by cutting out added sugar. I discovered some interesting insights about decision-making and how small dietary changes can impact inflammation. Looking ahead to fall, I'm excited about some big changes coming to my business (tune in next week for the full reveal!). I'm planning a photo shoot, preparing for the next Calendar Blocking Blueprint launch, and scheduling family photos. I'm also embracing my "future self" vision - becoming a more present mother and business owner, allowing myself to be softer and more feminine in my approach. This means making intentional choices, like updating my daughters bedroom and being more open to spending on things that matter. In this episode of The EA Campus Podcast, we're taking a deep dive into the Eisenhower Matrix — specifically the quadrant that too often gets overlooked: important but not urgent work.As Executive Assistants, it's easy to get caught in the whirlwind of urgent requests, Slack pings, and last-minute diary dramas. But real strategic impact? That lives in Quadrant 2.Join Nicky Christmas as she explores how EAs can protect time for the work that improves processes, builds trust, and prevents future fires — all without needing a crisis to prioritise it. You'll learn how to schedule and defend deep work time, link your projects to long-term goals, and frame your accomplishments to reflect the real value you bring.
In this episode, I dive into the importance of planning, even when uncertainty looms. Drawing from my experience coaching a client and working in retail, I emphasize that having a plan provides direction and makes adapting easier than starting from scratch. I break down three calendar blocking techniques: Specific time blocks (precise task scheduling)Large time blocks (broader time slots with detailed task descriptions)Flexible time blocks (adaptable scheduling around available time)The key is to avoid leaving your calendar blank just because you're waiting on potential commitments. Instead, I recommend proactively mapping out your day, considering potential client meetings or unknown variables. By planning around these uncertainties, you can maintain productivity and feel more in control. I share a practical example of how to approach a day with potential client scheduling, suggesting ways to allocate time effectively. This episode underscores that planning isn't about creating a rigid schedule, but about giving yourself a framework for success! Hey there, friends! In this episode, I'm diving deep into a critical question: Are you giving up right before your breakthrough? I share a powerful story about the "Three Feet From Gold" narrative, which perfectly illustrates how close we often are to success when we're tempted to quit. Resistance isn't a stop sign - it's actually a signal that you're on the right path and growth is imminent. Drawing from my personal experiences and work with clients in Simplify, I explore how our mindset plays a crucial role in achieving goals. Many of us interpret challenges as reasons to give up, when in reality, they're opportunities for expansion. I use a relatable TikTok example of a 30-day health challenge to demonstrate how transformation takes time and commitment. The key message? Stay persistent. Your breakthrough might be just around the corner. Whether you're working on a business goal, personal development, or any significant challenge, remember: don't surrender when things get tough. In this episode, I explore the concept of leverage in your business, focusing on strategic time management and maximizing efficiency through automation, delegation, and smart decision-making. Using practical examples, I demonstrate how business owners can optimize their time by targeting warm leads, choosing the most effective social media platforms, and prioritizing outreach strategies. The key is asking, "Where will I get the most leverage?" rather than spreading efforts thin across multiple channels. I emphasize that strategic thinking prevents overwhelm and helps entrepreneurs make more impactful choices by focusing on existing networks, identifying high-engagement platforms, and being intentional about time allocation.
