Trust More Worry Less Pastor Brady Our Pastoral Intern Brady DeBoer will present a message about “Trust More, Worry Less”. He will be looking at the book of Matthew, chapter 6, verses 25-34. Especially in times of transition, like graduation, it can be easy to get caught up in the worries of this world. Jesus teaches us the relief that comes from learning to trust God more. In this service, we will be celebrating our Graduates and commissioning our Summer Camp Staff.
Where do we find refuge from the woes and worries of our world? We cannot protect what happens outside of our lives, but we can focuson what happens in our hearts and minds. “Whoever dwells in theshelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”(Psalm 91:1) Our greatest security comes from a personal relationshipwith God through Jesus. Today, trade your worry for peaceby seeking shelter in God's strength.Learn more about priority projects at www.newmissions.org/projectsRead our monthly newsletter at www.newmissions.org/newsRead the entire "Count The Birds" article.Follow New Missions on Instagram.Support the show

Ever wish you could sit down with permie elders to hear their take on the current chaos; what to do, where to live, and whether it's really that bad in the grand scheme of things? Well just call me Genie cos this convo with permaculture educators and radical homemakers Ian Lillington and Marita Zeh will deliver.Ian and Marita live in a solar passive straw-bale home on the edge of Castlemaine, Victoria, surrounded by fruit and nut trees and veggie gardens, where students come to see – and feel – what it is to be wrapped in abundance. And this is where I found them, on a sunny autumn morning, in the cosy warmth of their kitchen, dealing with masses of peaches, pistachios and zucchini. And we all sat down and chopped and chatted, eventually remembering to turn on the mics.In this convo:Pursuing a hybrid model of permacultureRat poison sandwichRenting till your 40sWhat is good debt?Where is even affordable anymore? How to deal with glutsGiving to communitySmall garden farmingBeing strategically connected to the gridDiverse household energy systemsScales of usageAn elder's perspective on current affairsSharing permaculture as a political actPermaculture prioritiesGratitude vs. fearImpermaculture

In this episode of the BH Sales Holistic Healing Hour, join Grandpa Bill as he overviews SOON TO BE (1/29/26 5 p.mEDT) monthly repeat guest psychotherapist Byron Athene as we will delve into the profound wisdom of William Ralph Inge's quote, "Worry is interest paid on trouble before it falls due." Explore how objectivity can serve as a powerful tool to manage anxiety, helping us focus on present realities rather than speculative fears. Discover practical insights on cultivating mental resilience and learn how an objective lens can liberate you from the cycle of worry, empowering you to respond effectively to life's true challenges. In a world where anxiety often feels like a constant companion, the wisdom of William Ralph Inge's quote, "Worry is interest paid on trouble before it falls due," resonates deeply. This episode of the BH Sales Holistic Healing Hour, featuring Grandpa Bill and psychotherapist Byron Athene, in studio on 1/29/26 explores how objectivity can serve as a powerful antidote to the inefficiencies of worry.Understanding the Cost of WorryGrandpa Bill will open the discussion by highlighting how worry drains our mental and emotional resources, likening it to paying interest on a debt that may never materialize. This metaphor captures the essence of anxiety's inefficiency, as we often expend energy on events that haven't happened and may never occur.Objectivity as a Tool for Mental ResilienceByron Athene, a seasoned psychotherapist, will be delving into the role of objectivity in cultivating mental resilience. He will explain that objectivity allows us to step outside our emotional biases, enabling us to see situations as they truly are rather than through the lens of fear. This shift from subjective worry to objective analysis empowers us to respond effectively to life's challenges.Practical Steps to Cultivate ObjectivityThroughout the upcoming episode, practical insights will be shared on how to develop an objective mindset. Byron will emphasize the importance of metacognition—thinking about our thinking—as a way to break free from the cycle of worry. By focusing on evidence and rational analysis, we can conserve our mental resources for when action is truly needed. Conclusion: Embracing a New PerspectiveAs this episode concludes, listeners are encouraged to embrace objectivity as a tool for personal growth and mental clarity. By shifting our focus from "what if" to "what now," we can liberate ourselves from the self-imposed interest of worry and live more fully in the present.Subscribe now to stay updated on future episodes and continue your journey towards a more objective and fulfilling lifeObjectivity, Anxiety Management, Mental Resilience, Clarity, Empowerment. In this season-finale episode of The Burleson Box, Dustin Burleson is joined by longtime collaborator and digital marketing pioneer Jimmy Nicholas for a wide-ranging conversation on how artificial intelligence is actively reshaping dentistry and orthodontics.Their story goes back more than a decade to the Dan Kennedy GKIC days, a marketer-of-the-year competition, and the early experiments that turned Google into one of Dustin's top sources of new patients. Now, after selling his agency and sitting out a non-compete, Jimmy returns with a new focus on AI, compliance, automation, and what he calls “simple alignment” across marketing, operations, and team communication. This conversation moves well past surface-level AI hype. Dustin and Jimmy unpack what is actually working right now inside real practices, what most doctors still misunderstand, and where real opportunity exists heading into 2026.You will hear why Answer Engine Optimization, or AEO, may soon matter more than traditional SEO, how AI is changing follow-up systems, phone automation, and patient communication, and why most medical and dental websites are still invisible to large language models. They also discuss the risks that come with careless AI use, including HIPAA violations, hallucinated data, and unreliable financial calculations. This episode is essential listening for any practice owner who wants to stay competitive, protect their team's time, and apply AI with discipline rather than guesswork.Resources Mentioned:AI Beta Group (Free Community)Wealthy Entrepreneur Strategy Consultations ***The Burleson Box is brought to you by OrthoFi:Grow More. Show NotesGuest: Dr. Jeremiah Sturgill — Founder, Sturgill Orthodontics; Co-founder, Go Unicorn Strategy (concierge SEO/SEM for orthodontists).Learn more: https://gounicornstrategy.comWhy another company? A veteran ads/SEO partner (ex-HGTV/Discovery; managed ~$50k/day in Google Ads for a private client) audited ortho sites and found pretty but underperforming builds. Early tests drove measurable gains in qualified Google referrals; the two formalized a boutique service.Boutique by design: Targeting ~20–30 practices so one point of contact knows your brand, market dynamics, and projects end-to-end.Inside-out marketing: Don't pour money into ads until the phones, web forms, and team follow-up are dialed in. Track missed calls (goal: zero), record and review, and role-play quarterly.Feedback loop that works: Ads go live → the team tags outcomes (show/start/no-show) → campaigns are adjusted to favor demographics, keywords, and offers that convert in your market.Budget truth: Tiny spends create noise, not signal. Commit to a test period and a budget that can generate statistically useful data; adjust by market competition (it's a real auction).Brand over commodity: Build a site that sells your culture and trust, not “$500 off aligners.” If your web vibe doesn't match the in-office experience, trust evaporates.Pricing with confidence: If you deliver Four Seasons-level service, don't set Motel 6-level fees. You're not everyone's cup of tea—and that's healthy positioning.Language matters: For out-of-network calls, lead with help (“We can file Delta for you… let's get you scheduled…”) rather than a hard “We're out of network.”AI on the horizon: Jeremiah is building a practice “master prompt” to capture decisions, SOPs, and red-flag handoffs so teams ask the system before they page the doctor.Practical TakeawaysFix the fundamentals first: Fast phones, fast follow-up, and a brand-true website before buying more traffic.Measure what matters daily: Missed calls, call length outliers, and lead outcomes by source—then tune campaigns accordingly.Fund real tests: Set a market-appropriate budget and time horizon; dabbling hides the truth.Sell the who, not the what: Lead with trust, culture, and clarity; avoid commodity framing.Close the loop with training: Quarterly role-play on the hardest questions your team actually hears.MentionedGo Unicorn Strategy: https://gounicornstrategy.comAcquired podcast (Google series)Scheduling Institute (Jay Geier) — phone excellenceDan Kennedy — back-end sales before better adsCliftonStrengths “WOO” — why trying to win everyone over can hurt decisionsFour Seasons/Ritz-Carlton service standards as a pricing/positioning lensPast related episodes: Dr. Jamie Reynolds; Dr. Ben Fishbein.Subscribe to The Burleson Box wherever you listen. ***The Burleson Box is brought to you by OrthoFi:Grow More. After arriving in the UK in 2004 with just £150 in his pocket and barely speaking English, Jake built multiple businesses from scratch across construction, PR, digital marketing, and coaching while navigating some of life's most brutal setbacks. In 2007–2008, he lost everything during the financial crash: his business collapsed, he went into debt, his relationship ended, and he was told (twice) that he had only months to live. That rock-bottom moment became a reset, leading to the development of the no-BS frameworks he now teaches worldwide. Jake is known for his raw honesty, sharp mindset work, and ability to turn chaos into clarity. He doesn't do fluff, therapy language, or overused buzzwords. Instead, he delivers bold, clear, and actionable frameworks designed to get people moving and keep them executing. Whether he's coaching one-on-one, speaking on stage, or showing up on a podcast, Jake brings fire, focus, and fundamental tools that help people perform under pressure, take ownership, and finally follow through. He's currently active in three businesses: A high-performance coaching practice (his core passion) A digital marketing agency focused on SEO, PR, and paid ads A lead generation business in the construction space Jake's message is simple: Stop waiting for clarity. Stop playing small. Get clear, get disciplined, and execute.
A recent study found that over 40 million adults grapple with some form of anxiety or worry. Chances are, this includes you or someone you love. But don't we all find ourselves worrying from time to time? I know I do! So, what's really causing our worry, and how do we know when our legitimate concerns cross the line into worry? Well, today on the 4:13, Pastor Jonny Ardavanis gets honest about the underlying issues with worry and where we ultimately find our hope: in the character of God. With pastoral compassion and answers anchored in Scripture, Jonny explains how the antidote to anxiety isn't just trying harder not to worry, but learning to truly trust God's unchanging character. Because walking this out in faith isn't just about believing in God, but in believing God. So, if you're grasping for peace and starved for hope, listen in! You'll get something far better than a quick fix—you'll learn to fix your gaze on your Heavenly Father who loves you. In this episode of High Performance Mindset, Dr. Cindra dives into the science of worry—and how to take back control of your mind and energy. Drawing on research from Dr. Robert Leahy, she shares that 85% of what we worry about never actually happens. Even more powerful: when our fears do come true, we tend to handle them better than expected. Cindra unpacks why our brains are wired to worry—usually about the people and priorities we care most about—and how unchecked worry can steal our joy, drain our energy, and keep us stuck in the future. She then shares three practical strategies to reduce worry: Notice and label your thoughts instead of reacting to them. Schedule a “worry window” to contain anxious thinking. Let go of perfectionism and the need to plan for every possible outcome. The episode closes with a calming power phrase to carry with you: “I quiet my mind and return to the present.” REQUEST A FREE MENTAL BREAKTHROUGH CALL WITH DR. Rachel Kelly is a writer of many books about mental health and wellbeing and has recently published ‘The Gift of Teenagers: Connect More, Worry Less'. She is a mum of five grown up children.Rachel and I talked about the teenage brain and how it's wired for novelty, connection with peers, and altruism. We discussed how we could be more sympathetic to what teenagers are going through. She also had some timely tips on exam stress, which we could definitely do with in our house at the moment. Rachel told me about her own struggles with anxiety and depression, including being hospitalised and feeling suicidal, and she talked about how your teenager can come through difficult times feeling stronger, wiser and more amazing. She also said: don't give advice unless it's asked for. Now that is something I've definitely got to work on! Spinning Plates is presented by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, produced by Claire Jones and post-production by Richard Jones. Hosted on Acast. I came across a study years ago which found that fear of negative evaluation was one of the key drivers of performance anxiety in musicians. Which of course makes perfect sense, as we're being evaluated all the time. Often, with meaningful consequences attached. But that doesn't mean it's helpful - or very pleasant to experience either! So is there anything we can do to be less sensitive to what others around us might be thinking about us? At least in rehearsals, auditions, performances, or even dates for that matter, when it's way more useful for us to focus on the things that we can actually control?A 2007 study provides some clues on how we could potentially reduce our stress levels, increase self-esteem, exude more confidence in public, and even perform more effectively, by working on a particular kind of focus in our daily lives.Get all the nerdy details and learn how to start working on this particular kind of selective attention right here:Can We Train Ourselves to Worry Less About Others' Opinions?* * *Have you been feeling stuck in the practice room, like your progress has plateaued? Or maybe performance anxiety continues to sneak up on you, even when you know you've prepared as much as you possibly could - for performances, auditions, or even lessons? If you've been wanting to experience more satisfaction and progress in the practice room, and play more like yourself on stage, I'll be teaching a live online, 4-week class addressing these frustrating - but solvable - challenges starting February 2, 2025.In this class, we'll explore four key skill areas—effective practice, managing anxiety, enhancing focus, and building confidence. Through weekly Zoom sessions, we'll work on practical, research-based exercises as a group. And to help these skills become lasting habits, you'll get bite-sized practice challenges to gently weave into your daily routine, supported by a global community of practice buddies.Registration is open now through Sunday, January 26thOver 2000 musicians, educators, and learners of all ages have already gone through the course.
