The Conclusion Chapter to "Marry and Grow Rich" Audiobook. In this chapter I summarize the entire book, including the Balanced Growth Method and the steps to 10X your business while keeping your balance!
The most important part of getting on the same page financially is setting shared financial goals. This is the step-by-step process to set up your goals together as a couple. Once you have this set up you are on the fastrack to achieving your financial goals together.
Most couples don't set goals: if they do they set them incorrectly! Couples need to connect their individual and shared values to create SMART and shared goals. This chapter will focus on how to turn your shared values into SMART values-based goals for your relationship and your money that you both agree on.
The key to making Couple Development work is having shared values. Shared values are at the root of couples thoughts and ideas about their marriage and their money. Before you set shared goals about money it's vital to know what your spouse thinks and feels about it. This chapter dives deep into how couples can discover their shared values so they can begin to take action toward achieving their goals together!
This chapter focuses on the vital concept of teamwork for both at work and with your spouse. I explain the concept of "Getting off the field" and how becoming a Thought Leader will catapult your business growth. I also detail the concept of Dedication to your marriage and how this concept is the key to growing while keeping your balance!
Steps 2 and 3 of the Balanced Growth Method are centered on the psychological and relational aspects of money. To get on the same page financially couples must understand their own relationship with money and how their spouse views money before they ever begin to work together on this most complex topic. Most disagreements about money happen because each individual in a marriage is coming from a different background with money. When money decisions and goals aren't successful it is likely because of these differences. This chapter will help navigate this crucial part of growing rich together!
Couple Development is the #1 key to building a business while keeping your balance. Couple Development is working with your spouse on all areas of life including finances to reach your goals together. This chapter is focused on how to create couple development in your marriage and the key concepts include: Couple Development Time Shared Goals Couple Council This is the most important chapter in the book to completely understand and live the Balanced Growth Method.
Money is one of the top predictors of divorce but most professionals are unable to help married couples with money problems. Financial advisors, therapists, and coaches all fall short of combining financial advice with relationship and psychological help. In this chapter, I break down why professionals have failed to help couples with money problems and how the Balanced Growth Method solves this problem.
Teamwork is the key for couples who want to be aligned financially and grow the business! It is vital to keep one's balance individually and a psychological unlocking process that allows the business owner to scale the business to new heights. Why Teamwork? As couples develop shared values and goals, they are able to create a sense of teamwork that allows them to move forward together, and this is how it's done.
The 3 biggest hurdles to 10Xing your business with your spouse are: staying stuck in financial blocks, your spouse won't improve with you, and you aren't on the same page financially In this chapter, I discuss how to overcome the psychologically limiting beliefs that are keeping you stuck financially, how to work together with your spouse, and how to get on the same page. You will know where you stand and how to overcome these hurdles to help you 10X your business and keep your marriage thriving!

You now know the entire Make Time Method but most will struggle to implement it because of this one hurdle: fear. Overcoming your fears is the key to achieving all your goals in life in a balanced way!
The most important part of making any change is accountability. The most important person that can help you keep the balance that you have carved out using the Make Time Method, is your spouse. This chapter is dedicated to how you and your spouse can work together to help each other achieve goals.
The Personal Ideal Calendar is the final step in creating the Make Time system. It will help you to achieve your goals and keep your new Business Ideal Calendar in check. Most people only hope and dream about achieving their personal goals but with the Make Time system complete with your Personal Ideal Calendar you will have a visual accountability for making time for your highest priorities.
The Make Time Method is heavy on productivity at work, but to achieve balance in your life you must make time for the most important priorities in your life. After saving loads of time in your business life you can reinvest your saved time into your health and relationships and accomplish goals that you've been meaning to for years. This chapter shows you have to do just that!
Going it all alone is the myth of personal development. Having a strong accountability partner like your spouse can make all the difference in making it out of the Workaholic Trap and not relapsing back into being a workaholic. This chapter goes into the details of how to make this a reality in your marriage and family. No one in the world wants you to succeed more than your loving and devoted spouse. But it will take the two of you to make this work.
Personal Development is the go-to for business owners for decades who have wanted to grow and scale their businesses, however, it can be the reason why they are still stuck in the Workaholic Trap. This chapter explores the role that personal development has in keeping your balance and how the support of your family and team will make up all the difference.
The main reason why business owners are inconsistent with living their Ideal Calendar and being incredibly productive is because they are not organized! Most struggle because they have on average 30 collection points where information is stored and needs to be processed. Think of how many emails, task lists, to-dos, text messages, and social media messages you are checking every day. This constant switch-tasking back and forth is what is causing the majority of time wasted. Having your technology organized to cut through the daily switch-tasking routine is crucial to the success of your Ideal Calendar. This chapter will show you how to set it up for success!
The best way to automate your business goals is by creating and living an Ideal Calendar for work. This chapter focuses on the step-by-step of creating this visual that will give you the template for working 80-90% of your time in your Sweet Spot.
Most business owners are working in their most productive and satisfying activities called the Sweet Spot for only 25% of the working day. But why? It's because most business owners don't have a Time Management System that enables them to work in their Sweet Spot 80-90% of the time! They know tips and tricks but they don't have a system that is repeatable and automatic. This is why they struggle to achieve their business AND personal goals. Each day they do something different depending on where they get their productivity advice and they spend more time doing less. Having an actual time management system that is based in doing repeatable activities that keep them working in their Sweet Spot is the key. This chapter shows you how to do just that.
Myth 2: Productivity is not the magic pill! We all need to be productive but not without the boundaries that will keep us balanced. After learning about time management and productivity from the likes of Michael Gerber, David Allen, Dave Crenshaw, Bryan Tracy, and Tim Ferris I noticed a major pitfall. There is a tendency for business owners to reinvest the time saved from being more productive back into their businesses instead of their personal goals. This produces more "Productive Workaholics" than you can imagine and with the pull for business time having boundaries is the solution.
Balance is not doing everything at the same time it's making time for your highest priorities. Following the Make Time Method outlined in this book is very helpful to understanding how to make goals based on your values. But if do not prioritize these 10 areas of life you may get overwhelmed from trying to be all things to all people...all the time. Thus a need to prioritize! This chapter outlines the step-by-step process of prioritizing your areas of life that will serve you in managing your time.
Chapter 3 is focused on how to successfully set Values-based Goals that are also S.M.A.R.T. I dive into why most people struggle to set goals and why they give up on their resolutions. More importantly, I illustrate the step-by-step process to becoming your values which are your life-long goals for all 10 areas of your life. If you ever have struggled with the goal-setting process this chapter is for you!
Values are the most crucial aspect in developing into the person you want to become. This chapter focuses on the internal motivation toward achieving your personal and business goals by discovering your values. Once you have this foundation you will be ready to get to work!
In Chapter 1, I dive deep into the 1st Myth of Balance, the idea that "doing-it-all" is somehow living a balanced life. For the Do-It-All out there this is the most important chapter to understand and the science behind the Workaholic Trap. You will hear the science of multi-tasking and the big picture of what balance is in life.
