I'm thrilled to share this incredible conversation with Wendy de Rosa, an intuitive energy healer and author who's revolutionizing how we approach intuition and personal growth. In this episode, we dive deep into: Wendy's journey from anxiety to embracing her intuitive gifts The connection between our chakras and different types of intuition Practical tools for entrepreneurs to tap into their intuition The importance of grounding and embodiment for empaths How to balance data-driven decisions with intuitive guidance Key takeaways: Intuition is the voice of our soul communicating through our body We can have both upper body (clairvoyance, clairaudience) and lower body (empathic, knowing) intuitive skills Leaning into the "back body" can help us connect with our intuition and inner guidance Grounding is essential for empaths to prevent energy absorption and maintain boundaries Balancing creative energy with grounding practices is crucial for entrepreneurs Nature and physical practices are powerful tools for reconnecting with our intuition Intuitive development goes hand in hand with healing and personal growth I love how Wendy emphasizes the importance of embodiment and grounding in developing our intuitive skills. Her insights about the back body and the tree visualization for grounding are game-changers! I can't wait to hear how this episode inspires you to embrace your intuitive gifts and create more ease and flow in your life and business! Myth 2: Productivity is not the magic pill! We all need to be productive but not without the boundaries that will keep us balanced. After learning about time management and productivity from the likes of Michael Gerber, David Allen, Dave Crenshaw, Bryan Tracy, and Tim Ferris I noticed a major pitfall. There is a tendency for business owners to reinvest the time saved from being more productive back into their businesses instead of their personal goals. This produces more "Productive Workaholics" than you can imagine and with the pull for business time having boundaries is the solution.

With a TBT bid becoming more and more precious, alternative ways of getting in are becoming very valuable. One way to get in is to win the Vic Beasley (https://www.brighter-days.org/register/) Brighter Days 5on5 Tournament. TBT veterans Ced Brooks (Ft. Hood Wounded Warriors) and Bryan Tracy (formerly Utah Valor) have joined forces under the "Men of Honor" banner and are trying to EARN their way to TBT. We chat odds, the Beasley Event, and the merits of joining forces. Is a renaming of the team to Ft. Hood on tap? Only time will tell. Give this a listen to see the outside of the TBT process. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/zoomthetbt/support

It's double the fun today, especially for you TBT fans. For the first time we have back-to-back guests in the same episode. We got 2 members of the Utah Valor on the show today. Marquis Marshall and Chris Jones take the time to share their hoop stories and their preparation for this year's TBT.Marquis is the son of former NBA player Donyell Marshall, but he has made a name for himself at the college Division I, II AND III level. He went on to play overseas and is now a key member of the Utah Valor. Team captain Chris Jones has an inspiring story of never giving up on his dream of playing college basketball and professionally. He went on to play overseas in Australia and Mexico and even played in the U.S Minor Leagues. Both stories are very different and very inspiring in their own way and it says a lot about their character. There are some great stories in this episode about their experiences in college, overseas, Bryan Tracy, Keith Closs, Ronnie Price, TBT, Fortnite (yes, Fortnite) and MUCH more.It is very hard to not pull for Utah Valor after spending time with both of these guys. It only felt right to include both Marquis and Chris in the same episode since Utah Valor is so team oriented. We also wanted you to get a feel for the type of high character guys this squad has put together this year. The main thing we learned from this episode is that these two are winners both on and off the court. Episode: 126 Nelson Tressler Join your hosts, David Pere and Alex Felice, with their guest Nelson Tressler, as they speak about how a man can succeed, on his own terms, despite struggles on top of struggles. Nelson's story gives testament to how we don't always have to end up the way we started, a lesson that many people may take through multiple different ways. Getting held back in school with dyslexia was one challenge Nelson had to face; finishing college was another thing and a rather hard one for him to do. But after finishing college, Nelson grew the desire to overcome more of whatever life throws at him in his journey of emotional recovery and development; later on, he continued to become a broker, businessman, and author. In this episode, Nelson imparts a handful of lessons on perception, the mindset your goals need, and what he thinks people can learn from if they want to move on to a better place in their lives – be it physical or mental. Nelson believes that our life is not our circumstances; it is what we do in those circumstances that make our lives. About Nelson Tressler: Nelson was born to a teenage mother in rural central Pennsylvania and has never known his biological father. He was the oldest of five children and grew up in poverty under an alcoholic and abusive stepfather. Nelson lost track of the number of times that he went to bed hungry. Far from an idyllic childhood, Nelson worked on his uncle's garbage truck during the summer and holidays to help provide for his family. Once Nelson got his driver's license, a local construction company hired him to work until he graduated from high school. In high school, Nelson was a three-sport athlete. He still holds several school records and was voted the most athletic member of his senior class. Once he graduated, he went on to play college football at St. Francis University. After his freshman year of college, it was very evident that he could not afford to continue. He then joined the United States Air Force on the G.I. bill. He trained as an electronic and navigation technician on the E.F.–111 aircraft. Nelson served in Saudi Arabia and Turkey during his four years of military service. He attended multiple universities during his service and received his associate's degree. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, he attended the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. He started a window cleaning business to pay for school and support his young family. After graduating with a Finance degree from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, Nelson went to work for Grubb &; Ellis Commercial real estate. Nelson and his team were the top producing team in the nation on several occasions while working at Grubb & Ellis commercial real estate. Newmark Grubb Knight Frank later purchased the company. Nelson has consistently been one of the nation's top-producing brokers, and his team has been the top-producing retail team in the Las Vegas market for an impressive 19 straight years. In 2008, Nelson was named to Las Vegas' prestigious "40 under 40" list. He has personally developed commercial projects over $25 million. Additionally, during his 20+ year career, Nelson has brokered deals on behalf of his clients over $750 million. Nelson has founded several successful businesses, including one of the largest chains of children's daycare centers in Las Vegas, which he sold for a profit. He is also the founder of one of the nation's largest privately held pet resorts he recently sold. Nelson is currently acting as a partner in multiple business ventures ranging from tanning salons and family fun centers to a landscaping rock supplier. He is also involved in numerous real estate ventures, including apartment buildings and commercial real estate developments. His team continues to be the top retail producing team for Newmark Grubb Knight Frank in Las Vegas, Nevada. It's a special look back at 20 years of the Super 32 on the Short Time Wrestling Podcast! Back in 2000, I was still in college at Old Dominion. I was working on tracking down results from any and all high school tournaments and after attending my first USA Wrestling Cadet & Junior Nationals the summer prior, I started covering more off-season stuff for the first iteration of Mat Talk Online. This involved fall folkstyle events from USAW and the AAU, spring freestyle and paying attention to out-of-state tournaments where Virginia teams participated. One of those tournaments popped up in 2000, my fourth year in college at ODU and my fourth running Mat Talk Online. It was the Super 32. I first noticed it that fall when a local wrestler in the coverage area of the newspaper I was working at won at 119 pounds. George Dodson was an Eagle Scout from Denbigh High Sc hool who never reached the Group AAA state tournament. Then I saw Drake Dickenson’s name. Drake wrestled at Magna Vista in the Southwest portion of Virginia before crossing the state line to wrestle for Dave Barker at Eden-Morehead. And that’s how it all began for me. This list is a look back at things that make me go “oh wow,” and is not designed to be an inclusive list. During the 2005-08 years, I ran InterMat for the NWCA, which then owned the site. So my knowledge of high school wrestling from that era was in top form. Prior to 2005, I worked and lived in Virginia, so that’s where the lion’s share of my knowledge existed. In 2000, the very first champion was at 101.1 pounds and it was host Morehead’s Chris Moore defeating future Virginia four-time state champion Matt Epperly of Christiansburg, Virginia. Epperly went on to wrestle at Virginia Tech and qualified for the NCAA Division I Championships twice. Current UNC Pembroke coach Othello “O.T.” Johnson claimed a title at 163 pounds, beating Chris Ward of James Madison High School in Virginia. One time in Fargo, Ward got out after curfew. Team Virginia coach Ben Summerlin ran him outside until he puked. In 2001, David Barker cites this as a turning point in the tournament’s second year. Virginia powerhouse Great Bridge shows up and crowns four champions. Daren Burns, who wrestled at UNC Greensboro, was third at 190 pounds. He got better. In 2002, the word is out. The Super 32 is now challenging the Lock Haven Fall Classic as the top preseason event on the east coast and the event is starting to gain traction nationally. A middle school division is added as well. Ashtin Primus from Connellsville, Pennsylvania comes down and cradles his way to a title. Future Division III All-American Donny Ooton of Great Bridge wins at 140, while future Old Dominion All-American Chris Brown wins at 145. In 2003, we’ve got nationally ranked wrestlers hitting one another before the finals. Eric Hoffman, a future NJCAA national champion from Iowa Central and D1 national qualifier comes out from Iowa where he falls in the finals to Dusty McKinney at 125. A pair of future two-time D1 All-Americans meet in the finals at 103 where Tyler Nauman of Middletown, Pennsylvania beats eighth-grader Scotti Sentes of Riverside, Florida, 6-2. Primus wins another title, this time at 135. Future Missouri All-American Raymond Jordan of New Bern, North Carolina beats future Limestone Division II national champion Dan Scanlan of Loudoun County, Virginia 4-1 in the finals at 171. Scores of future Division I wrestlers who don’t place. Moving to 2004, Ashtin Primus wins his third straight Super 32. Hammer champions include – well, they were pretty much all hammers. At 112, Ian Moser of Delaware beat Walker Faison of Virginia in a bout with two of the best lightweights in the country. New Jersey brought a strong group from Bound Brook as Nick Murray and Andrew Flanagan won titles. Top-ranked wrestlers Patrick Bond of Great Bridge, Cody Gardner of Christiansburg and Kenny Lester of Oviedo, Florida swept the top three weights. In 2005, Brandon, Florida’s talented crop of hammers comes in, led by Eric Grajales at 103 pounds. Grajales bests Steve Mitcheff of Ohio 7-0 in the finals. Among the names at 103 were Matt Snyder and Nic Bedelyon of Pennsylvania – shout out to the late Wayne Danger – Eric Dunnett of New Jersey, Zeke Hofer from Colorado, Joey Lazor of Georgia and Andrew Williams of Virginia. No, I’m not going to load up all these brackets, because this is where the podcast will get significantly larger. UWW media guy Eric Olanowski was also in this bracket. At 112, North Carolina’s Brandon Davis emerged as the champion, but wasn’t heard from much in college. Current Huntingdon College head wrestling coach Matt Oliver, beat Marshall Peppelman in the semifinals and felt to Davis in the final. Anyone remember Ryan Fields from Ohio? Yup. He was the champ at 119, beating future D1 All-American Walter Peppelman in the finals. Future All-American Jarrod Garnett of Virginia Tech doesn’t place. 13-seed Abbie Rush, a future Boston U. wrestler, stormed into the finals, beating future All-American Peter Yates and past champ Ian Moser. He falls to Mike Robinson of Lewistown, Pa., who later on in the year will hand Mike Grey of Delbarton, New Jersey, his first high school loss at the Beast of the East. Robinson was given a #42 seed at the Super 32 and won it. He was unseeded when he fell in the finals to Kellen Russell at the Beast. Tyler Nauman beat Peter Yates in the blood round. Bishop Lynch from Texas came out and brought some studs as Luke Silver and Luke Ashmore won titles. Christiansburg’s Andrew Clement won 10 matches – although two were forfeits – to claim third at 140. Nick Nelson, a future All-American at Virginia, stopped Ashtin Primus in his bid for a fourth title with a fall in the finals at 145. Nelson had earlier edged Bubba Jenkins and then beat Matt Cathell of Delaware and Bryan Tracy of Paulsboro, New Jersey in the semis. Jon Reader of Davison, Michigan had four pins and a major to reach the finals against Matt Epperly. Reader won 4-1. Future NCAA champion Dustin Kilgore was third, losing by fall in the quarters to eventual champion Tommy Spellman of New Jersey. Spellman beat Reynolds’ Lawrence Beckman in the finals. Yes, of those Reynolds Beckmans. You know what, if I do this for every year, it’ll be longer than the three-hour finals show I put on from the Asian Championships. So let’s look at JUST THE FINALS for 2006 and the numbers. Nine Division I All-Americans, of them, there was two-time champion David Taylor from Graham, Ohio. You also have Division II champion Tommy Abbott of Delaware, two-time NJCAA champion and NAIA All-American Jamelle Jones, also of Delaware. The head-to-heads of note saw Pennsylvania’s Troy Dolan beat Jarrod Garnett of Delaware. Man, Delaware had a good crop of guys in that era. Collin Dozier of Virginia over Tyler Nauman of Pennsylvania, Dustin Kilgore of Ohio beat Jordan Blanton of Illinois in a battle of future three-time All-Americans. Jones beat future NCAA finalist Chris Honeycutt of St. Edward at 189. New York’s Kyle Dake, wrestling at 112, lost to Virginia’s Michael Garafalo and Georgia’s Joey Lazor and finished 7/8. Olanowski won this bracket by the way. At 119, returning champion Brandon Davis of North Carolina fell to the 7/8, which wasn’t yet wrestled. Among champion Frank Perrelli’s victims – a guy named Creed, a Levi Strauss, Scotti Sentes and Josh Kindig. That was just to reach the finals. Ok, the first two were more for name effect. His opponent, Gabriel Espinosa of Florida beat Travis Coffey of North Carolina, Nic Bedelyon and Eric Grajales to reach the finals. Nick Nelson repeated, winning at 145 pounds with a 5-3 win over Tommy Abbott. Future Division III champion Vincent Renaut was ousted in the blood round by future Buffalo Bull John-Martin Cannon at 152. Scott Winson beat Ben Bennett in the semis at 160, Jordan Blanton beat Cam Simaz in the semis before falling to Kilgore in the finals. Moving to 2007, which was the second-to-last year I attended because when you move away from the East Coast, getting to North Cacka-lacky ain’t so easy. First, the finals stats: seven Division I All-Americans, one three-time D1 champion, and a Greco-Roman World teamer – Max Nowry. At 125, Eric Grajales beat Pennsylvania’s Jordan Oliver 1-0, Collin Palmer of Ohio beat Kenny Courts of Pennsylvania 4-2 at 135. Future All-Americans to fall were Walter Peppelman, who lost to Tony Jameson of Ohio and Ed Ruth, who lost to Michigan’s Jacob Burge 5-4 at 171. Anthony Clinton of North Carolina won by injury default over Virginia’s Max Huntley, who hadn’t yet transferred to Blair Academy. Now, the fun stuff. A.J. Schopp beat Devin Carter for third at 103, Jeremy Sandoval of Texas beat Tony Ramos for fifth at 125, Jarrod Garnett beat Josh Kindig for third at 130, Marshall Peppelman beat R.J. Pena of Oregon for third at 140, future All-American from The Citadel, Odie Delaney was fifth at 215. Other “what the heck” stats include: Max Nowry beating A.J. Schopp in the semis, Grajales beating Ramos 8-0 in the semis, future Cornell backup Joe Stanzione beating Joey Lazor. There’s some weird tie-in there with Dake if you can do the math. Collin Palmer over Taylor Massa in the semis. Sightings of C.J. Napier of Kansas and Carson Fields of Georgia at 135. Another Kansan, Aldon Isenberg finishing second to Trevor Melde of New Jersey at 140. The aforementioned free-wheeling Tony Jameson of Ohio. Future four-time NAIA champion Brock Gutches beating future Division III All-American Emmanuel Ajagbe of New Jersey in the consolation semis at 145. Joe Booth making his national breakout performance at 152. My friend Nate Schy still can’t stand him from his fantasy wrestling draft picks. He even told him such on Facebook. Eric Cubberly of Ohio beat Scotty Winston of New Jersey in the finals at 160. Ed Ruth beat Jordan Blanton in the semifinals and this is before Ruth ever went to Blair. Jacob Burge’s semifinal op
Today’s episode is sponsored on behalf of CANCERSUPPORTSCOTLAND.ORG Hello and welcome to Film Pro Productivity, the podcast which helps film professionals and other creatives to live a more focused, effective and HAPPY life. My name is Carter Ferguson and this is EPISODE 35 – DEVELOPING A SENSE OF URGENCY Professor of Leadership at the Harvard Business School, John P. Kotter, says “A higher rate of urgency does not imply ever-present panic, anxiety, or fear. It means a state in which COMPLACENCY is virtually absent.” I talked about A SENSE OF URGENCY last season in my episode entitled DRIVE, but for me, it’s really one of the cornerstones of productivity itself. John Kotter’s quote there says it very well. This is not about panic, anxiety or fear (although you may have to fight them off a wee bit along the way) it’s about killing complacency and replacing it with something else. An "inner energy" that drives your forward, to complete on your plans, to hit deadlines and to achieve great things. This is one of the productivity terms which I have drawn from the business world, but in all honesty, I’m not quite sure who coined it. It may have been Brian Tracy or H. Jackson Brown, but I’m going to settle for on John Kotter as he has literally written a book about it. In the business world, according to an article written by Annie Sisk in Bizfluent.com, “a sense of urgency” refers to communicating to an individual or team that it’s imperative to act promptly, decisively and without delay. The phrase can be applied in the context of leadership and management, or in the field of marketing and sales. In both cases, the term describes a positive state of mind that smart marketers, managers and business leaders use to evoke in those they market to, manage and lead. In the context of the individual film pro or freelance creative, we can utilise a sense of urgency in all that we do as who manage ourselves and our careers. I’ve been keen to do an episode about this for a while, and as I’m pulling all my energy into creating this new season the time now seems right. I’ve been nurturing the sense of urgency that comes with having to create 18 publicly released Season 3 episodes requires, but even with that proverbial gun at my head, it’s been a slow start. Like many things in productivity, it’s easy enough to understand the principles but sometimes difficult to put it into action. Distraction and procrastination, those two ninja-like enemies of productivity are ever-present. The crowdfunding campaign helped me to focus and its success gave me new energy, but at the same time, it’s been a huge distraction. My mind had to go into a different place to raise finance and although the overall experience was very positive, and the campaign was successful, I’ve found switching out of “fundraiser mode” and back into “podcast host” mode quite a challenge - but you wouldn’t be listening to this now if I hadn’t gotten over it. As regular listeners know, I like to utilise large whiteboards to keep my mind clear and organised. A few days ago I tidied them all up and started making daily schedules of tasks specific not only to my season deadlines, but also to roll out the application of funds raised. My sense of urgency is driven by these lists, and when I feel like taking a break or find my self being distracted I can go to them to find new things to do. This keeps the momentum going that fuels the feeling of urgency. Even this strategy has had its problems though as yesterday I got caught up in a minor task, that of designing a promotional postcard for the show, that ended up taking me most of the day. PRIORITISING within my lists has now become a primary directive in my efforts. Today I start, while my mind is fresh, and with yesterday’s distraction task out of the way, by working on the podcast first and foremost. Other tasks, which are perhaps less time-sensitive and which require less mental energy are deferred to later in the day. It’s with this system of checklists, prioritised tasks and a designated timescale for delivery (remember Parkinson’s law here) that my sense of urgency is being honed and leading me to success. Probably the most powerful quote about URGENCY I’ve come across is from Martin Luther King, Jr. He said: We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there "is" such a thing as being too late. This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action. Our own deadlines and goals may feel less important than that to which Martin Luther King refers, but we can still take energy and understanding from his words. We must fuel our own internally-derived sense of direction, motivation and compulsion to move or act in ways which benefit our lives, our projects, our careers, our passions and our family. We must also learn to acknowledge the times when we assume an “I’ll get to it someday,” attitude. Putting off spending quality time with your child for example is not the same as putting off replying to an email. Get your priorities straight when honing your sense of urgency. Let’s talk for a bit about why having a SENSE OF URGENCY matters. I’m going to be referring here to the article in Bizfluent.com again, as I’m not across the MARKETING and LEADERSHIP applications of the SENSE OF URGENCY concept. I’ll link to it as always in the show notes, which can be accessed through your podcasting app, or on my official website filmproproductivity.com “There’s significant power in employees and customers acting right “now.” Complacency, after all, is the enemy of progress. A failure to act promptly means that opportunities may be lost. Ultimately this will negatively affect the financial health of the company…” and I’d add to the financial health of the freelancer too… Thinking of ourselves as businesses is a definite sticking point for some creative people. I say, GET OVER IT, and LIVE A BETTER LIFE. Lacking a sense of urgency in matters like this often leads to important issues continually being placed on the back burner. If we can learn to be responsive, flexible and nimble in our ability to evaluate and make decisions about new challenges and opportunities - we can only benefit by it. To foster a sense of urgency, start with yourself. When you understand the “why” behind a particular goal or objective, and more specifically the “why now,” you must put it into action. The article in BIZFLUENT says. “Many successful managers and leaders find that increasing a sense of urgency around a particular project or goal is much easier when you get the employees' buy-in on the project from the start. Fostering a feeling of ownership and investment in the project makes a huge difference for participants.” If you’ve ever had to manage a creative team then this makes a lot of sense. It goes on to say that “Another proven strategy is to emphasize outcome-based results. Focusing on observable, measurable results helps you identify a successful outcome. This, in turn, means you can develop an internal sense of reward and satisfaction for completing a task, which helps increase your motivation level for the next project.” This is something I talk about in my 4 disciplines of execution episode. Finally, it says, “work to identify the reasons behind complacency in your team or workforce (I’d add, or in yourself). Most people seek fulfillment and satisfaction in their work. If they’re losing their motivation and their sense of pride in a job well-done as a group, there’s something that's contributing to their complacency and diminishing their all-important sense of urgency.” If that;s the case, it must be identified if you are to move past it. Brian Tracy loves this topic and he’s an awesome guy so I love him for his insight on it. He talks about creating a BIAS FOR ACTION and says “Most people talk the talk, but never really walk the walk. You need to treat action steps with a SENSE OF URGENCY. If something is important then learn to ‘do it now’. Don’t put things off - get them done, TODAY.” Summing Up A sense of urgency helps turn “someday” and “later” into “today” and “now.” What’s that quote in fact that I’ve used here before? Someday is not really a day of the week you know… It’s kinda funny but it’s true. If your bias for action is to put it off till tomorrow then you need to start reprogramming yourself and get rid of that delaying crutch. Change up your tempo to something a bit more lively, and as I’ve warned many times before - don’t wait for the planets to get into just the right alignment before you move – if you do that, THE RIGHT TIME will slip through your fingertips. BUILD MOMENTUM – remember it’s much easier to keep a body in motion, than it is to initiate that motion (BRYAN TRACY unquote) and PLAN YOUR WAY - decide on your goals, develop a list of the action steps you need to take, prioritize the list then EXECUTE IT – If you do this you’ll get into what they call a STATE OF FLOW, when all your senses are heightened and every element of your being is working towards a common goal. Finally, STAY ENERGISED, keep up your fitness level, drink enough fluids and eat properly so that you can MAINTAIN YOUR STATE OF READINESS. Call To Action Your call to action today is to utilise something known as the OWN PRINCIPLE to get you started. OWN has you ask yourself 3 questions, and I want you to ask yourself them right now. O– asks WHAT OUTCOME DO I WANT? W - asks WHY DO I WANT THIS? And N - ends with WHAT CAN I DO NOW TO ACHIEVE MY OUTCOMES? That’s OWN. OUTCOME, WHY, NOW. One last time - WHAT OUTCOME DO I WANT? WHY DO I WANT IT? WHAT CAN I DO NOW TO ACHIEVE MY OUTCOMES? I’ll end with the words of ‘Bob Proctor’: ‘Everyone should have a sense of urgency – it is getting a lot done in a short period of time in a calm, confident manner’. Later on this series I will be doing a mailbag episode, so why don’t you utilise this sense of urgency I’ve been cultivating and make a move to ask me a productivity question that I will answer in that episode? On Episode 026 I provide a book recommendation: “No Excuses! The Power of Self-Discipline” by Bryan Tracy. One of my favorite quotes from the book is the following: “Bad habits are easy to form, but hard to live with. Good habits are hard to form, but easy to live with.” There is incredible power in taking a hard look at your current habits and doing so can create shifts in your life that will improve it. Good luck!

Powerful stories of people in our inner-circle and ignite program who opened up doors from skill sets they didn't know they had. On today's episode Russell talks about the power of moving forward. Why the process of moving forward can often lead to more or better opportunities. Here are some of the cool things you will hear on this episode: Why sometimes what you want to do doesn't work out, but if you keep moving forward other opportunities will arise. Find out how many times Clickfunnels failed before it finally succeeded. And why you have to keep trying and working hard even if something isn't successful the first time around, because you never know what people are in the market for. So listen below to find out why always moving forward can lead to your success. ---Transcript--- Hey, guys and gals. This is Russell Brunson, and welcome to “Marketing in Your Car.” This message today is one that I think is important, and I hope that a lot of people listen to this and take something from it, because it's been really interesting. I've been watching a bunch of our coaching clients over the last year or so, [laughs] and there's been this really weird observation, really interesting, that's been happening. A lot of people come in, and when they come in they've got a direction they want to go in, right, and so we coach them in that direction, they start moving forward, and they start moving forward. Some people just, the first direction we point them in, they run and then they have success — someone like a Liz Benney, who had picked a path, she executed on it, boom, is making crazy money. She's done over five hundred grand so far this year after she picked her path and started running. But other people, and I would say probably the majority of people, don't have sex, success — ooh, I almost said the wrong word there, [laughs] don't have success right out of the gates, and I know it's frustrating for them, but it's interesting, because a lot of people that happens to, and I see it, they just fall away. They just give up, and it's done. But there's others that are super stubborn, and I think that I would probably fall into this category as well. [laughs] They're really stubborn, and they're like, “You know what?” They keep moving forward, and they keep moving forward, and they keep moving forward, and because of the act of them moving forward, doors become open to them, if that makes sense. I remember when I was — I think I shared this on a podcast — who knows how long ago, but when I was first getting started, I had some friends who saw what I was doing, and they came and wanted to work for me. After a year of working with me, they weren't making any money. I was, obviously, and one of them had this insight, and he told me the next day, “You know what we realized? It's not so much, Russell, that you're smarter than us, or anything, the only difference between you and us is you're always moving forward. You're doing this, you're doing this, you're doing this, you're doing this.” He's like, “More than half the time, what you're doing is not working,” [laughs] “but ten, twenty percent of the time it does work. Just the act and the motion of you moving forward working on stuff is opening doors and making other stuff happen.” Anyway, I had a really good experience that just happened ten minutes ago. I just got a VOX from one of our coaching clients, and it just re-illustrates this point. He's a cool guy. He came to our coaching program and he picked a market that honestly, I don't think it was a good market for what he wanted to do. He wanted to sell to engineers. It's just not a market that's super passionate or ripe. They're not rabid buyers, but he was passionate about it, so he spent all this time and energy, and he built the perfect webinar and he launched it. He drove traffic, and he launched it. He kept going. He was squeaking by and making pennies here and there — making some money — but he was so passionate. He kept going back and kept tweaking it and making it better, and tweaking it and making it better. While he was doing this, he was frustrated because he wasn't making money, right? But what he was doing was he was honing his skills, he was fine-tuning, he was getting better and better at what he was doing. About two weeks ago, he met one of our other coaching clients who is having some success, having webinars, is doing really well with it, and basically said to him, “Hey, I love your product. I think your webinar's good. I'd like to pitch it. Do you mind if I pitch it?”, and this guy's was like, “Yeah, man, I would love to not pitch my own webinar.” So this guy took the other guy's webinar and looked at it, was looking at it and saying, “Well, based on all the work I did before, this is how I'd change it,” and he tweaked it, and he fine-tuned the presentation, and he went last week, and he did it live for this guy, [laughs] and he crushed it — did like three times as many sales as the main person did, doing his own webinar. Both of them got excited. One's like, “Man, I made a bunch of money doing someone else's webinar. The other guy's like, “I made a bunch of money, and I didn't have to do the webinar. I actually made more money having this guy do it than if I was doing it.” They just did another webinar. It just ended like fifteen minutes ago, and they closed over $20,000 in that webinar. These guys are going crazy now, and because of this, I talked to this guy, and I said, “You know what? You should start a webinar-pitching business where you go through, tweak people's webinars then pitch it for them, and take a percentage of the profits.” I think he's going to do that now. I just look at it — he came into the coaching program trying to go in this direction, and we coached him through that process. So far he hasn't made a lot of money from that process, but the skills set he learned along the way have now become this valuable asset. He's going to make ten times more, maybe a hundred times more from this, but he would not have ever gotten that if he wasn't moving forward, moving forward. Another guy, who is one of the coolest people. He's probably listening to this, so I won't embarrass him with his name or anything, but he knows who he is — we've worked with him on his funnel. He's been struggling. He has not been making money with his funnel, but through the process, he's gotten really good at something else — his Facebook Ads. His Facebook Ads, I remember, John and my team looked at his ads, and he's like, “I have never in the history of my life seen an ad that was this good, that has this high of engagement and quality score,” and all these types of things. His ads are amazing, he just can't get his funnel to convert. He's driving these things, and so last week, I saw him do what was brilliant. I was just so impressed with him for doing this. He posted on Facebook in our group, and he was like, “Hey, my funnel's not making any money yet, but I'm really good at Facebook Ads. In fact, look at these things.” He's like, “If you want, I trying to get better at this skill and see if I can master another niche. If any of you guys want, contact me, and I'll do your ads for free.” From that, he got a whole bunch of amazing people to raise their hand, obviously, and he's doing this. Right now, what he's doing is he's honing this skill. He's getting better and better at it, and through that process, I don't know yet where the future's going to go for him, but my guess is he's going to make a lot more money with this direction than he was with what he was doing. It was the byproduct of what he was trying to accomplish. It's interesting what happens when you're moving forward constantly. You don't know where success is going to come. If you've ever read the book “Rework,” it's one of my favorite books of all time. He talks about how one of the powerful things you can do with your company is make money off the byproduct of what you're doing. So you're doing a bunch of stuff. What's the byproduct? To give you an example, our “Dot Com Secrets Labs Book,” we ran a bunch of split tests, two or three years, and also we had all these split test results. I compiled them into a book, and we launched that. That turned into an extra three or four million dollars last year. It was the byproduct. It was just my split-testing results from other stuff we were doing, taking the byproduct of what we were doing. You never know where these opportunities are going to come and what skill sets you're going to create to become really, really good at. So what I wanted to say for all you guys is just, is the process is less of getting something perfect, and more of moving forward. As you move forward, and you continue to move forward, you don't stop. You keep moving forward, and moving forward. Doors will open. Opportunities will come to you. Things will keep falling into your lap that you never would have thought were there before. It's just really, really impressive, from both these guys, I've talked about it before. There's more that I could share. Another example is one of the guys that came to our training and wanted to be a copywriting teacher. He kept doing this, kept doing this, kept doing this, and spent six, seven, eight months trying to do that, and finally got so fed up and frustrated — and man, I'm so proud of him for this, though, but a month ago, he got so frustrated that he was selling his front-end products. No one was buying his up-sells, no one was buying off his webinars, so he just picked up a phone, and starting dialing every single person that had bought his product in the past. They might not have bought a product, they had showed up to a webinar, or bought one of his free-plus-shipping things — just started calling them, almost frustrated, and the first month, made thirty grand just calling his customers and saying, “Hey, but this coaching thing from me.” Then yesterday he told me he did this webinar. He had two people buy this free-plus-shipping thing, picked up the phone, called those people personally, and sold ten grand, just buildt from one little thing. It's again, not the opportunity he thought he was going to do. That was not his goal when he got started, but it was in the process of him moving forward, that his skill sets go better. He learned things, he honed things, and he got better and better and better, until, boom, a door opens up. That's the door you run through. It's really interesting. I was even watching — there were two podcasts where I was talking about what happens when your funnel flops, and I shared a story. I'm going to share it again, because I think it's relevant to this, where Bryan Tracy was talking about how he was watching this TV show, and it had all of these millionaires on there, and they asked the millionaires, “How many times on average did you fail in business before you became a millionaire?” They went through and surveyed everyone and they found out the average person was like eleven times they failed before they became a millionaire. Bryan Tracy comes back and says, “You think it's because they all luckily, the eleventh time, stumbled upon the magic formula.” He said, “No, what happened was, the first time they screwed up, the second time they screwed up, and after ten or eleven tries, they couldn't help but be successful because they'd tried everything else.” That is the key with this, you guys. Anyway, I'm so proud of these people in our group that are doing that, because I'm seeing, and again, it's usually a different direction than we even point them in initially, but because of the process of moving them forward and doing these things, they start building up skill sets that they give them the ability to become powerful and marketable and be able to open up whole new worlds and whole new doors for them, so I thought it was interesting. On the opposite side of that, we've got coaching clients, who I love as well, who are going through this and they keep focusing on one funnel, on one thing, and one thing, and they want it to work, and they keep trying, and it feels like they're pushing a square peg through a round hole. It's like, “You've got to learn how to pivot and shift and try things and move things around. If this doesn't work, try this and try that,” because we don't know what people are going to respond to. We can guess. We try to get as close as we can and we pray and hope that we're going to get it on the first try, or the second, or the third, but traditionally it doesn't work that way. You've got to be flexible. You've got to be willing to pivot, and keep moving around and moving forward until those opportunities open for you. I had an interview today with a lady, and she was asking me about that. “What happens if someone's funnel doesn't make money?” I said, “Do you know what? Did you know that Click Funnels failed the first few times we launched it?” She's like, “What?”, and I'm like, “Yep. We launched it — bombed. I could have just given up. I was depressed and sad. I could have licked my wounds and cried about it, but, no, I said, ‘Okay, it didn't work this trip around,' and we tried it a different way. Boom — failed again. We tried it again, and the third time, it was a home run, and blew up, and now has become what it is. And it's growing insanely fast, but again, it's because we were moving forward, and opportunities open up when you're moving forward.” So if nothing else you get from today, you guys, it's time to keep moving forward. When you do that, you may not get what you thought you were going to get, but you will get what you deserve, I promise you that. You will become what you need to be, and the doors and the opportunities will open up to give you the abilities to shine. Anyway, I hope that helps you guys. I just thought of another guy in our group — same kind of thing. Came in, wanted to be an MLM guy, and now he's driving traffic for ten different people, because he was moving forward, moving forward always, so move forward, you guys. Have fun. For those of you guys who are going to be at Funnel Hacking Live next week, I'm so excited. We had five hundred tickets. We opened up a couple more. We sold about six hundred. It's just crazy, so we should have over six hundred people there, and it's going to be nuts. I'm excited to meet a lot of you guys in person, and I'm going to try to put on a show that will change your business, change your lives, and really rock your world. That is the game plan, and hopefully we will deliver. I'm confident that we will, and excited for those of you guys who are coming. Thanks again, you guys. I'm out for the weekend. Have an awesome day, and we'll talk soon.

So what I wanted to say for all you guys is just, is the process is less of getting something perfect, and more of moving forward. As you move forward, and you continue to move forward, you don’t stop. You keep moving forward, and moving forward. Doors will open. Opportunities will come to you. Things will keep falling into your lap that you never would have thought were there before. It’s just really, really impressive, from both these guys, I’ve talked about it before. There’s more that I could share. Another example is one of the guys that came to our training and wanted to be a copywriting teacher. He kept doing this, kept doing this, kept doing this, and spent six, seven, eight months trying to do that, and finally got so fed up and frustrated — and man, I’m so proud of him for this, though, but a month ago, he got so frustrated that he was selling his front-end products. It’s again, not the opportunity he thought he was going to do. That was not his goal when he got started, but it was in the process of him moving forward, that his skill sets go better. He learned things, he honed things, and he got better and better and better, until, boom, a door opens up. That’s the door you run through. It’s really interesting. I was even watching — there were two podcasts where I was talking about what happens when your funnel flops, and I shared a story. I’m going to share it again, because I think it’s relevant to this, where Bryan Tracy was talking about how he was watching this TV show, and it had all of these millionaires on there, and they asked the millionaires, “How many times on average did you fail in business before you became a millionaire?” They went through and surveyed everyone and they found out the average person was like eleven times they failed before they became a millionaire. Bryan Tracy comes back and says, “You think it’s because they all luckily, the eleventh time, stumbled upon the magic formula.” He said, “No, what happened was, the first time they screwed up, the second time they screwed up, and after ten or eleven tries, they couldn’t help but be successful because they’d tried everything else.” That is the key with this, you guys. Anyway, I’m so proud of these people in our group that are doing that, because I’m seeing, and again, it’s usually a different direction than we even point them in initially, but because of the process of moving them forward and doing these things, they start building up skill sets that they give them the ability to become powerful and marketable and be able to open up whole new worlds and whole new doors for them, so I thought it was interesting. On the opposite side of that, we’ve got coaching clients, who I love as well, who are going through this and they keep focusing on one funnel, on one thing, and one thing, and they want it to work, and they keep trying, and it feels like they’re pushing a square peg through a round hole. It’s like, “You’ve got to learn how to pivot and shift and try things and move things around. If this doesn’t work, try this and try that,” because we don’t know what people are going to respond to. We can guess. We try to get as close as we can and we pray and hope that we’re going to get it on the first try, or the second, or the third, but traditionally it doesn’t work that way. You’ve got to be flexible. You’ve got to be willing to pivot, and keep moving around and moving forward until those opportunities open for you. I had an interview today with a lady, and she was asking me about that. “What happens if someone’s funnel doesn’t make money?” I said, “Do you know what? Did you know that Click Funnels failed the first few times we launched it?” She’s like, “What?”, and I’m like, “Yep. We launched it — bombed. I could have just given up. I was depressed and sad. I could have licked my wounds and cried about it, but, no, I said, ‘Okay, it didn’t work this trip around,’ and we tried it a different way. Boom — failed again. We tried it again, and the third time, it was a home run, and blew up, and now has become what it is. And it’s growing insanely fast, but again, it’s because we were moving forward, and opportunities open up when you’re moving forward.” So if nothing else you get from today, you guys, it’s time to keep moving forward. Came in, wanted to be an MLM guy, and now he’s driving traffic for ten different people, because he was moving forward, moving forward always, so move forward, you guys. Have fun. For those of you guys who are going to be at Funnel Hacking Live next week, I’m so excited. We had five hundred tickets. We opened up a couple more. We sold about six hundred. It’s just crazy, so we should have over six hundred people there, and it’s going to be nuts. I’m excited to meet a lot of you guys in person, and I’m going to try to put on a show that will change your business, change your lives, and really rock your world. That is the game plan, and hopefully we will deliver. I’m confident that we will, and excited for those of you guys who are coming. Thanks again, you guys. I’m out for the weekend. Have an awesome day, and we’ll talk soon.
