The Civilized podcast has been a standout show in my college career. From the early seasons to the latest, it has consistently delivered masterful and entertaining adlib performances that not only made me laugh but also advanced an enjoyable storyline. One of the best aspects of this podcast is the ability of the actors to create fully fleshed out characters with their own idiosyncrasies that are both hilarious and endearing. Each character, from Beatrix to Bartholomew and Bob, brings something unique to the table, making for a dynamic and engaging listening experience. The tight storyline and great improv skills of the cast make this show stand out from other improve podcasts. It's impressive how they can create comedy on the spot while still maintaining coherence and progressing the plot. The humor is such that it appeals to a wide range of people, making it accessible and enjoyable for many listeners.
However, one aspect that could be improved upon is the clarity of certain plot elements. Some reviewers have mentioned feeling confused or left out regarding certain mystery parts or reiteration concepts introduced in episodes. While this may be intentional to build intrigue, providing clearer explanations or hints throughout the episodes could help alleviate confusion for some listeners. Additionally, there have been mentions of too many commercials interrupting the flow of the podcast. While advertisements are expected in most podcasts, finding a balance between promoting sponsors and maintaining a seamless listening experience would enhance overall enjoyment.
In conclusion, The Civilized podcast is an absolute joy to listen to. It combines improv comedy with an immersive storyline and talented voice actors to create a truly entertaining audio drama experience. Although there are minor areas for improvement, such as providing clearer explanations and managing commercial breaks more effectively, these do not overshadow the fantastic humor and engaging characters presented in each episode. I highly recommend giving this podcast a listen if you're looking for a funny and enjoyable story that will keep you entertained for hours on end!
Hi space friends! Introducing one of our new favourite sci-fi series: DERELICT. Something has been found at the bottom of Earth's ocean. To study the artifact, the galaxy's most powerful corporation, Maas-Dorian, has built a massive, self-contained, secret laboratory base surrounding it, named FATHOM. It's objective: unlock the secrets of the artifact and discover what it holds. But some mysteries should remain buried. An ancient artifact that can only be described as a giant door, inset into the ocean floor. It became known as the Vault. A gigantic enigma, buried and forgotten...nineteen thousand feet down. Just the kind of thing that would interest the galaxy's most powerful corporation, Maas-Dorian. To study the artifact, the company built a massive, self-contained, secret laboratory base surrounding it. That base is named Fathom. It's objective: unlock the secrets of the artifact and discover what it holds. A group of scientists, engineers, and workers led by Dr. Eva Graff and Commander Joe Freeman have been working on that task for almost a year, but with little to show for it. The Vault has yet to give up its secrets, and their employers are beginning to lose patience. Add to that, some on the base say they hear...voices. Inside the signal the Vault is broadcasting. Hundreds of them. Thousands. Whispering and chittering of a desire to be let out. But none of it holds sway over a corporation interested only in power and profit, even if it knows all too well that some mysteries should remain buried. And that some doors should never be opened.... Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

We'd like to introduce you to another new show we absolutely love: Forgive Me! Father Ben left his congregation in Binghamton, New York, in the cover of night for the smaller, quieter pastures of St. Patrick's. As our new, young, and at times progressive priest begins to acquiesce to his new surroundings, he finds himself butting heads with the eccentric parishioners who come to him seeking solace and advice. Whether he's trying to understand Old Margaret's “usual” confession; parsing out how Tom can better help care for his wife's pet pig, David; or getting to the bottom of the Christmas Eve Mass Incident, Forgive Me! explores the intertwined lives in Ben's new community and the funny, sad, and sometimes painful experiences that come out of confession and the Catholic experience. Episode 1.01 The Simple Joy Of It Margaret educates Father Ben on the unfamiliar and unorthodox concept of confessing "the usual."
