Welcome to Issue 331 of Critical Encounters, a podcast about Marvel Champions, a Living Card Game by Fantasy Flight Games. Here we take a good look at that most critical piece of the game, the Encounter Sets. We'll discuss those poorly understood characters, unfairly labeled Villains, and their various plans to shape humanity and benefit the planet, as well as those so-called heroes intent on thwarting them. In this Interrogation issue we sit down with FFg Producer Molly Glover. In August of 2013, Rebecca Rogers shot and killed her husband of 14 years, Jason, three times — twice in the back and once in the head — but don't worry, according to Rebecca, this was all somehow self-defense. And apparently enough people bought that explanation, because between the public support and what feels like a pretty surface-level investigation, Rebecca eventually pleaded guilty to manslaughter and served less than two years in prison. Less than two years. For shooting a man three times. Incredible. At first glance, the case seems pretty open-and-shut…until you sit down and actually listen to her interrogation. Because once I heard Rebecca tell her absolutely “harrowing” tale herself, I walked away thinking this woman didn't get away with manslaughter — she got away with murder. And weirdly, there's barely any information out there about this case. It never got the full Dateline treatment, no dramatic 20/20 special, no ominous narrator standing in front of a cornfield talking about “small town secrets.” Somehow this one just quietly drifted off into obscurity. We're also not going to be listening to the interrogation itself in these episodes. But honestly, we don't even need to. There is SO much to unpack in the things Rebecca says — the contradictions, the reactions, the storytelling choices, all of it — that, to me, point to this being way more than a simple manslaughter case. The more she talks, the less believable it becomes. To me, this was murder.LINKS:Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/killaforniapodPayPal: https://www.paypal.coCashm/paypalme/killaforniapodMerchandise: https://killaforniadreamingpodcast.threadless.com/Website: https://killaforniadreamingpodcast.buzzsprout.com/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@KillaforniaDreamingPodcastFacebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1296620370450345/Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/killaforniadreamingInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/killaforniadreamingpod/?hl=enX: https://twitter.com/killaforniapodEmail: killaforniapod@gmail.comTikTok: @killaforniadreamingpod Cash App: $KDpodcastSOURCES:https://www.northescambia.com/2016/04/breaking-molino-mom-sentencedhttps://www.northescambia.com/2013/08/molino-woman-claims-self-defense-in-shooting-death-of-her-husbandhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lT3lKnc67X0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyXorcwEAxs&t=1142shttps://weartv.com/news/local/molino-woman-sentenced-for-killing-husband-during-domestic-disputSupport the show

Mark Fuhrman is dead at 74. But the mainstream media is still selling you a manufactured narrative about the O.J. Simpson trial. We are ripping it to shreds.Thirty years ago, Marcia Clark and the D.A. shielded a corrupt LAPD detective while branding an honest civilian a "hostile witness" to protect a failing timeline. Today, Kato Kaelin takes you back inside the raw 5:15 AM Rockingham interrogation that led to the discovery of the bloody glove. Plus, LAPD insider Spencer Marks joins the war room to drop a bombshell about Fuhrman's real reputation inside the precinct—and the fatal blind spot that lost the Trial of the Century. The "hostile witness" told the truth. The "hero cop" became a convicted perjurer. We brought the receipts. Subscribe to TZ Scandal for zero-fluff, raw investigative true crime.
What do you do when your testimony is put on trial? In this episode, we step into the tension of John 9 where the healed man is dragged before the Pharisees. What should have been a celebration turns into an interrogation. Questions are fired. Doubts are raised. Pressure builds—not just on him, but even on his family. Jesus warned this would happen. When your faith becomes visible, it also becomes vulnerable to scrutiny. But in the middle of questioning, God gives something powerful: boldness, clarity, and the right words at the right time.

Many people think police interrogations often involve reading body language and catching “tells” of deception. Interrogation trainer Mark Anderson explains how much of what's taught about using nonverbal behavior in high-stakes interviews is based on myth, not science—and how a faulty focus on “reading people” can actually damage interviews. We dig into why stress behaviors don't signal guilt, how confirmation bias warps investigations, and why “reading people” is far less useful than most believe. Instead, Mark lays out what actually works: deep listening, better questioning, managing conversations, and building real rapport—even with people who've done serious harm. Along the way, he shares stories from his career that show how empathy and curiosity can unlock information in surprising ways. If you're interested in psychology, communication, or the reality behind interrogations, this episode might challenge some of your basic assumptions. Learn more about your ad choices. Robert Jeffrey became fascinated with aviation at a young age after his father got a pilot's license. By the time he was preparing to graduate high school, Jeffrey knew he wanted to be a pilot and that he wanted to fly in the U.S. Air Force. He joined in 1960 and excelled in pilot training. By 1965, he was flying the F-4 earlier than most of his peers. Late that year, he deployed to Thailand to fly missions over North Vietnam. On December 20, 1965, Jeffrey flew his first mission. It would also be his last mission. In this edition of Veterans Chronicles, Col. Jeffrey takes us into that fateful mission, the circumstances that led to him being hit by enemy anti-aircraft fire, having his plane explode, and being forced to eject.Jeffrey also recounts being captured, interrogated, threatened with execution, and tortured by the enemy. You'll also learn what Jeffrey did when he could not take the pain of torture any longer. And he describes the importance of making contact with the other POW's held in the infamous Hoa Lo prison, known now as the Hanoi Hilton.Don't miss Part 1 of this powerful story.

In August of 2013, Rebecca Rogers shot and killed her husband, Jason, of 14 years 3 times - twice in the back, once in the head. She claimed she acted in self-defense. Amid strong public support and lack of a deep dive investigation, Rebecca eventually would plead guilty to manslaughter and serve less than 2 years in prison. The case was pretty open and shut...unless you watch her interrogation. After I listened to her recount her "harrowing" tale, I came away believing this lady got away with murder. There isn't very much in the way of information about this case...it wasn't even really dramatic enough to find its way onto an episode of Dateline or 20/20. And we are not going to be listening to the interrogation in any of these episodes. But there is so much to talk about when it comes to what Rebecca said that strongly points to this having been way more than a manslaughter case...to me, this was murder. The goal is to remind people to pray for persecuted believers as Hebrews 13:3 teaches: “Remember those who are in prison, as bound with them.” We’ve looked at Wang Yi and Early Rain Church’s writings in the aftermath of their arrest and attack in 2018, but I’ve also regularly turned to other persecuted ministers who have gone before, such as Richard Wurmbrand, to give us a voice literally from prison. Richard Wurmbrand’s birthday was yesterday, March 24th (1909). Today we will look at some of his “birthday writings” from prison… Richard Wurmbrand Remembers Birthdays in Communist Romania https://chinacall.substack.com/p/a-pastors-prison-birthday And find out more about Michael Wurmbrand’s ongoing ministry (and free books!)... https://richardwurmbrandfoundation.org/ How to Give?
