Day 7 of the Caleb Flynn trial featured testimony from Det. Sgt. Mike Morgan and BCI criminal intelligence analyst Samantha Reed. Jurors heard more about Caleb Flynn's February 19 interrogation, conducted three days after Ashley's death. Investigators walked Caleb through his timeline from the night of the shooting, including where he said he slept, what he heard, his movements through the home, the garage door, the family's firearms, and his call to 911.BCI analyst Samantha Reed then testified about the massive amount of digital evidence reviewed in the case, including cell-phone extractions, social-media accounts, emails, financial records, Instagram activity and GroupMe communications. Kevin "Fresh" Townsend grew up in Brooklyn with his father in prison and his mother raising him on her own. He took to the streets at a young age, dropped out of high school, became involved with gangs, and started dealing drugs. Then, at just 19 years old, he landed on America's Most Wanted for a murder he says he did not commit. Le RN, accusé d'être pro-russe par ses adversaires depuis longtemps, s'est distingué ces derniers jours en publiant un communiqué d'une inhabituelle fermeté à l'égard de Moscou. Il est signé de Marine Le Pen et Jordan Bardella. C'est un communiqué publié samedi 19 septembre, au lendemain d'une réunion à l'Élysée où les chefs de partis avaient été conviés par Emmanuel Macron pour évoquer, entre autres, la menace hybride russe. Les deux têtes du Rassemblement national ne mâchent pas leurs mots : « Nous ne tolérerons jamais que la Russie espère dicter la politique de notre pays par l'intimidation, la menace, la déstabilisation ou la pression psychologique. » Une rupture affichée avec le passé Cette prise de distance sonne comme une rupture pour un parti ayant emprunté à une banque russe dans un passé pas si lointain, et dont la candidate avait été reçue il y a dix ans par Vladimir Poutine. Cette réputation fâcheuse doit être effacée à l'heure où les portes de l'Élysée s'ouvrent en grand pour l'extrême droite française. « Au seuil d'une présidentielle, il faut être ferme », assume un très proche de Marine Le Pen, se félicitant des effets du communiqué. Notamment une réaction négative venue de Dmitri Medvedev, ancien président russe. Dans un tweet, celui-ci qualifie le parti de Le Pen de « parti européen ordinaire », l'accusant de « russophobie et de soutien aux nazis ukrainiens ». « C'est pas trop tôt », en vient même à se dire un membre du parti à la flamme. « Ça nous rend évidemment service », ajoute un autre. À lire aussiFrance : dans une volte-face singulière, le RN durcit le ton face à la Russie, qui nie toute «menace» Ambiguïtés, critiques et doutes Toutefois, cela ne convainc pas vraiment les opposants au RN. Beaucoup, surtout chez les macronistes, dénoncent un double langage et une ambiguïté. Ils s'appuient notamment sur le point presse de Jordan Bardella et Éric Ciotti à la sortie de la réunion à l'Élysée, au cours duquel ils ont très peu évoqué la menace russe, voire dénoncé une dramatisation de la part d'Emmanuel Macron. Les adversaires du RN pointent aussi un faux soutien à l'Ukraine, notamment parce que Marine Le Pen dit ne plus vouloir soutenir financièrement Kiev, tout en proposant de l'aide matérielle et en plaidant pour une grande conférence pour la paix. Une formulation, il est vrai, pas franchement claire. En interne aussi, le parti s'interroge sur cette stratégie. Un élu assure ne pas « comprendre la manœuvre incompréhensible », qui ferait selon lui du RN un parti « mainstream ». Interrogation à froid également à l'extérieur du parti. Un ancien ministre, dubitatif, résume : « À la fois les pro-ukrainiens ne les croiront pas, et les pro-russes vous qualifieront de traîtres. » Mais ce positionnement flou ne serait-il au final pas le but recherché ? What happens when the justice system gets it catastrophically wrong? Neil Mercer has spent over five decades as a journalist unafraid of the hard stories, as evidenced in his latest book Falsely Convicted. In this episode, Neil joins Gary to unpack two of Australia's most shocking miscarriages of justice. First, the wrongful conviction of schoolteacher Josephine Greensill, whose life was torn apart by allegations from two former students dredged up from three decades earlier. Then, the case of Andrew Mallard, who was wrongfully convicted for the 1994 murder of Perth shopkeeper Pamela Lawrence. Gary also shares a confronting personal account from his early career as a detective, illustrating how difficult it can be to halt the "machinery of the justice system" once it's in motion, even when doubts about guilt begin to surface. EMOTIONALLY DRUNK ON YOU A Deeper Investigation Into Whether Insecure Attachment and Codependence Turn Love Into an Emotional Substance We Use to Escape Ourselves With Special Guest Dr. Allen Berger SYNOPSIS A lover can enter your bloodstream without ever touching your body. One text settles the panic. One unanswered call restarts it. A warm tone restores your worth. A distant look sends your identity into free fall. No chemical entered the system, yet the entire internal climate changed. What, then, have you been consuming? Human beings rarely describe romantic attachment as intoxication. Culture gives it prettier names. Passion. Loyalty. Devotion. Chemistry. Ride-or-die love. Yet beneath some of these celebrated experiences lives a dangerous emotional arrangement: another person has become responsible for producing the inner condition you cannot yet produce, tolerate, or sustain for yourself. Their attention becomes medicine. Their approval becomes evidence that you matter. Their availability becomes protection against abandonment. Their need for you becomes proof that you deserve to exist. Their obedience becomes peace. Once love carries this burden, relationship stops functioning as an encounter between two free human beings. It becomes a private emotional economy in which one person must keep paying so the other person does not collapse. Attachment theory helps explain how early bonds can shape the adult nervous system's expectations of closeness, separation, safety, and loss. Codependence adds another layer. A person may manage, rescue, fix, please, monitor, sacrifice, or overfunction in order to maintain access to emotional security. The behavior can look loving from the outside while fear quietly writes the contract. The anxious partner may call control “connection.” The avoidant partner may call emotional disappearance “freedom.” The rescuer may call indispensability “service.” The self-erasing partner may call surrender “commitment.” Every strategy attempts to solve the same unbearable problem: how can I keep another person from awakening feelings I do not know how to live with? Dr. Allen Berger's concept of emotional sobriety attacks this arrangement at its foundation. His work challenges the hidden belief that personal peace depends upon people, places, and circumstances behaving according to our private rules. “I am okay if you call.” “I am okay if you stay.” “I am okay if you understand.” “I am okay if you choose me.” These conditions turn another person's freedom into a threat. Could emotional sobriety begin when “I am okay if” finally loses authority? This does not require emotional coldness, radical isolation, or the fantasy that mature adults need nobody. Human beings require connection. The deeper question concerns governance. Who governs your inner life when someone disappoints you? Who controls your identity when affection gets withdrawn? Who becomes responsible for calming the fear that existed before the relationship began? Clinical maturity may involve learning to experience jealousy without surveillance, loneliness without self-erasure, uncertainty without interrogation, disappointment without retaliation, and grief without turning loss into proof of personal worthlessness. Philosophically, emotional sobriety confronts our understanding of love itself. Can love remain love when it demands psychological captivity? Can intimacy survive without control? Can commitment retain meaning when fear serves as the lock? A partner who cannot leave has not necessarily chosen you. A partner who must constantly regulate you has little room left to meet you. Culturally, many communities teach people to endure emotional dependence as evidence of loyalty. Men may learn to hide dependency behind authority, possession, silence, or rage. Women may receive praise for transforming self-neglect into service. Family systems can reward the person who carries everyone while quietly punishing the same person for developing a self. Under these conditions, codependence can wear the clothing of morality. Metaphysically, the topic reaches even further. What happens when consciousness seeks completion through possession? Can another person ever provide permanent shelter from an interior world you refuse to inhabit? Perhaps every attempt to make someone else the source of your emotional stability places sacred responsibility in human hands that cannot carry it. Tonight's investigation enters the space between love and dependency, support and self-abandonment, care and control, attachment and intoxication. Are you loving your partner? Or are you drinking them? And when the emotional supply runs low, who do you become?

Paramedics arrive and suspect the Lenkah virus—a fictional pathogen with a 95% mortality rate that last appeared in 1924—triggering a full office quarantine and lockdown. With Mike Franks sidelined by a thrown-out back and most of the team trapped at a bar offsite, Gibbs finds himself as the senior agent in charge during what appears to be a bioterrorism event. A forensic DNA test usually scans about 20 fixed markers of DNA. It may take a few days but it's enough to differentiate a suspect from the rest of the world with a near perfect level of certainty.   Except for identical twins.   It's not a perfect analogy but think of DNA as a 3 billion letter book. Most people have about 20 chapters that are completely different. For identical twins, their entire book is identical except for about 8 typos.
