we're back. we said we would be. we'd never lie, not to you. you're our sweet little honey. sorry if the audio is a little uneven, audacity is being an absolute psycho. stay tuned for next ep soon :)
Is this thing on? Hello? Is anyone one there? Listen, we're back. We're really sorry. Honestly. You missed us though, don't lie. It's ok baby we still love you very very much and will never leave again. We just ran out for a pack of smokes, that's all. We even end the pod with the song "Headstrong" by Trapt to show you that we care
Caterpups, electric serial killers, and pizza monsters. These movies are incredibly dumb and strange and very fun to talk about. Come with us on a journey into a wild ass film anthology called House. What a wonderful reminder that I'll always live in an apartment :(
Houses are fun but sometimes they are not because they are haunted and spooky with creatures inside this may or may not be one of those instances so please prepare for a possible spooking. We'll release part two of the pod shortly, which will highlight House 2-4 :)
Smallbois. Tiny Creatures. You love them as much as we do. If you don't we'll gosh dang make you. This episode is a little raunchy in a fun sexy way, but that's what you get when you invite Mark Gallagher onto your pod. Let's get rowdy with Gremlins (1984), Ghoulies (1984), and Critters (1986). If you weren't sure which of these have porn drawn of them, fret not because we totally tell you in graphic detail. Power of the night!
We're back so suck it. Happy Halloween :) The long awaited second half of our hazed out episode featuring Will Potorff! We literally spend the last 15 minutes arguing about pirate ghosts vs mariner ghosts. Does that mean it's good? We have no idea.
SPOOKY DOOKY HALLOW TIME BABY. The autumn equinox is upon us, blessing us all with the feeling of horror in our bleak ass hearts. Let us help you get in touch with that feeling, let us guide you like a clergy of dirt priests showing you the truth you knew all along. The truth, that our podcast is the best podcast. Believe it. We're here with a little filth reverend Will Pottorff to discuss The Mist (2007). Stay tuned for part 2 of this episode where we talk about Silent Hill and The Fog!!!
NOTE: If the levels are off (one voice too loud) redownload the file, I mixed it better >: ) Buckle up buckaroos because we are bringing fire and brimstone to this pod. Let's travel back in time, then travel back to the present again, because we're dealing with two blockbuster bonanzas featuring prehystoric man-eating monsters. We dive deep into The Meg (2018) and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018). We are not alone however, we enlisted the help of the nasty little zealot Zack Burwick of Pink Talking Fish. What makes a blockbuster? Does the integrity of art have to be sacrificed at the altar of success and mass appeal? Is anyone trying to buy an iPod classic for a decent price? Tune in ya lil butts.
After a dumb hiatus we have returned stronger than ever. We've been doing HGH and DMT and tons of other drugs to expand our bodies and minds to become pod gods. We're almost there. This month we present to you SHAPEFEST. You love shapes don't you, you little drug pig? Did you smoke weed and have your mind warped by staring at a can of beans? Then this pod is for you. We dig into Sphere (1998), Triangle (2009), and Cube (1997). These movies are all mind melters. Can you handle it? Also we prank call an IRS scammer because fuck those guys. GET IN SHAPE.
We are back! Sorry it took so long, we were busy fending off a mental breakdown due to puppet exposure. We're ok. Are you ok? Great. Let's get friggin whacko with these two treasures in James Wan's puppety dread piece Dead Silence (2002) and Stuart Gordon's bizarre fantasy fever dream Dolls (1987). We also had on our totally cool and understanding love partners Jen Dulong and Sarah McElaney! They don't mind that we spend an unreasonable amount of time watching horror movies. They really don't and this isn't a strategy to please them. Enjoy!
Give in to us. Become one with us. Once you are part of Dead Last Podcast you will feel no pain. You will need no editing. You will become perfect. Damn it feels good to be a hive mind. Once again we are joined by the beautiful baby man Owen Linders to talk about some sneaky ass parasitic brain aliens. We open up all our holes to possibility with Night of the Creeps (1986), The Faculty (1998) and Slither (2006). All of these movies are great and so are we. We responded to criticisms that our podcast is too long by doing another three hour one.
We talk about the amphibious feature films Anaconda (1997) and Alligator (1980) with comedian Terence Pennington. Luke gets super racist towards dwarves. Brandon's John Voight impressions are amazing and he doesn't even write these descriptions because that would be narcissism. Terence comes to terms with breaking the chains of his childhood. It's pretty intense. We probably had too much fun doing this one. If you hate us laughing you won't like this one at all. You're probably just jealous we're living our best damn lives as podcasting gods.
Behold! Another year we have done this podcast for FREE. We do this for you as philanthropy, remember that you friggin slimes. Once again we use the sharp edges of our psyches to dissect the year's best movies with surgical precision. We are basically doctors and deserve a doctor's wage. What a year 2017 was for the genre! So here's hoping to a dark and bloody future ahead. Cheers!
Dag y'all it is COLD. What a perfect time to hide away and cuddle up with some nice warm paranoia! Remember not to trust anyone around you because they all want to hurt you :). Light some blood on fire to keep those pesky loved ones and UPS boys away. We delved into some frosty cinematic isolation with The Shining (1980) and The Thing (1982). Two visionary directors. Two amazing lead actors. Two hot young podcast boys with so much to give. And one untrustworthy ghost alien of a man named Ryan Flaherty. This one GOES DEEP so put on your snow pants and brave this cool ass pod.
When we die please put all of our precious shit in a stone house with our bodies and curse it with a scroll. We need our VHS tapes and pog slammers in the afterlife. Our organs can go in a bunch of different cans of Monster Energy drink. That'll do. Anyways we talked about The Mummy. Which one? Friggin' all of em. 1932, 1999, 2017, and even some other ones. We sat down with owner of Monsters are Good clothing, Sam Furst. He's a Cruise Mummy apologist but please don't hold that against him, he's pretty groovy. Brendan Frasier will bring us all together. Listen to this pretty radtabular episode to finally learn the secret of Harambe's Tomb!!!!
We're in for a long one y'all. Lube yourself up and slip into some latex filled with nails because it's Hellraiser time babyyyyy. We sit down with horrorphile Andrew Maroney to talk about the first three Hellraiser films. Luke pops his franchise cherry and Brandon might be a little too into the lore for his own good. Why is hell so windy? Can fidget spinners open a portal to hell? Does Frank eat ass? Let's try to pry some answers from this interesting franchise that may be a little too bold for its own good.
With surgical audio dexterity we dissect Coppola's clunky labor of love "Bram Stoker's Dracula" and Hammer Horror's gem "The Horror of Dracula". Vampires are pretty silly but blood is really cool, so we're pretty torn about these ones. We really do some work on this cast as we figure out how George Lucas came up with Count Dooku and create a tasty beverage known as "Moon D". Happy Halloween y'all. I hate writing these.
We all float down here y'all. Sometimes literally. We break it down per usual with Stephen King's It Miniseries (1990) and the brand new It (2017). I know the name of this episode is great so don't bother complimenting me.
The second half of our Alien spectacular. We tear into the russian nesting doll of existentialism that is Alien: Resurrection, Prometheus, and finally Alien: Covenant. Featuring guests Jesse Miles and Stephen Learson!
Happy to be back people! Let's get in DEEP on the Alien franchise. This one is way more analytical than jokey but we dig down folks. PLEASE RATE ON ITUNES AND MAKE US FAMOUS. Featuring comedian Jesse Miles and pod boss Stephen Learson.
How many white people does it take to figure out the film Get Out? Four. The answer is four. In a super special edition of Dead Last, it's date night baby! We had on our lovely significant others Jen Dulong and Sarah McElaney to help us get to the sunken place in this racially charged dynamo of a movie. Let's get woke y'all.
Luke and Brandon dig in on our boys in blue as they dive into the dark world of undead cops and injustice in the world of Maniac Cop! Justice is found in a hopeless place L:D~
This is an episode about The Ring Franchise. Does that interest you? It really should. Spooky stuff here. Real spooky stuff. Supersillyus joins us once again to get froggy with some creepy well based horror.
Finally we have returned from our temporary butt slumber. We hang our with Jules Jenssen of Ross Jenssen to discuss the Maine'd out tales of Pet Sematary and Pet Sematary 2. Figure out which part we become inebriated.
Another year past. We're boys grown now. We have grown into burly, mature, spooky broadcasters. Hell yeah. We review this year in the world of horror and turn our pretty little eyes to the damp gross sequel infested future of 2017!
This is a long one but a good one. Grab some grog nogg and warm your dumb bones by the fire because we are getting frighteningly festive with Sam Furst of Monsters are Good clothing. The last 15 minutes got cut but who cares we're probably just talking shit about Kwanza. Happy Holidays y'all.
Brandon is on his death bed and Luke is lit. We are here to talk about oceanic vessels with Dave Pappas. The world keeps turning and we keep churning (out hot audio fire, that is). Free your minds y'all.
Keep a flashlight in your bed tonight, because it's like, dark. Ya know? We get a little worked up about how Max Landis needs to take a nap, but otherwise this podcast is brilliant. Absolute brilliance. We are just fantastic, truly. We find the light in Darkness Falls and Lights Out.
A week late and a buck short, we continue to impress. Line up at the trough for your meal, you've been waiting so long. Good piggy. We love you. We get dirty with Halloween in this very special "meant for Hallow's Eve episode". Hail satan.
This week we're tappin' in hard on the clown zeitgeist. We want all clown hits. We are clowncast. Clowns. Sorry about any static we're still not back in studio :*(
No guest this week! Luke and Brandon have retreated to the Dead Last apocalypse bunker in lieu of an anthrax scare, so please pay no mind to the shitty underground dirt recording. We're still spitting hot fire here people. Beware, every single spoiler for the movie "Don't Breathe".
Aooooooooo! Luke gets musical with our guest Supersillyus and Brandon gets belligerent on $4 chardonnay. This episode is pretty all over the place, but we try. This is free, remember that. You get what you pay for.
The amazing second half of our Predator extravaganza. We get into the mud of the franchise with Alien vs. Predator, Alien vs. Predator Requiem, and Predators. They made the movies to hurt us. You all need to know that. Once again joined by comedian Owen Linders! We also finally get to hear the voice of Spectral Jeff! Music Edwin Star - "War" Nico - "These Days" (special Dead Last Predator Edition)
Lube your arm muscles or whatever they're called and light up a cigar, because this episode might be our best yet. We sit down with comedian Owen "Browen" Linders and explore the Predator franchise with an enthusiasm previously unknown to man until this very podcast. Part 2 incoming! Music lespecial "Third Antler" The Police "Every Breathe You Take" Ice Cube "Man's Best Friend"
No guest this week! Back to basics with the trill twosome. We talk extensively about The Shallows and the new Netflix series "Stranger Things". We say spoilers but it's actually pretty spoiler free! Get weird!
We sat down with comedian Ken Reid to talk about the triumph that is "Lifeforce" and run off the rails pretty quickly. Ken is an interesting dude who knows a lot of famous people and is super passionate about horror. While this isn't the format we usually go with, it is interesting as all hell. Enjoy. MUSIC: Lespecial - "Third Antler" Roky Ericksom - "Night of the Vampire" Grimes - "Kill V. Maim"
Luke and Brandon are joined by Luke's own flesh and blood to tackle the Basket Case franchise. Brandon gets into a birthday rage and the Bemand brothers bond over freaks. We're all freaks in the end, aren't we? MUSIC: Lespecial - "Third Antler" The Hollies - "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" Kevin Devine - "Brothers Blood"
Luke and Brandon sit down with comedian Carrie Ross to discuss "The Witch"! Diabetic witchery rages out of control in studio as we dissect this fantastic film to the best of our cruddy abilities. MUSIC: lespecial - "Third Antler" Coven - "Black Sabbath" Cliff Richard - "Devil Woman"
We return with comedian Mark Gallagher to round out the Friday the 13th films 4-6. Remember, HIV struck the worm community first. MUSIC: lespecial - "Third Antler" Katy Perry - "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" The Cure - "Friday I'm in Love"
In our second episode Luke and Brandon sit down with comedian Mark Gallagher to get into the first six installments of Friday the 13th! Shenanigans won't stop ensuing. We've split this episode into two parts so stay tuned for Part 2! MUSIC: Lespecial - "Third Antler" Alice Cooper - "He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask)" Rebecca Black - "Friday"
In our premiere episode we discuss our personal history with horror films, aquatic horror, and the movie "Orca"! MUSIC: Intro track: lespecial - "Third Antler" Yes - "Don't Kill The Whale" Little Mermaid OST - "Under the Sea"
