Het staakt-het-vuren is ingegaan tussen Israël en Hamas. Daarbij zijn er drie gijzelaars vrijgekomen en zijn er hulpgoederen Gaza binnen gegaan. De media berichten over iedere stap, waardoor journalist Laurens Vreekamp het gevoel heeft "erbij" te zijn. "Alle serieuze media zitten hier bovenop en willen het in balans houden." Volgens Tessel Linders, politiek verslaggever bij Omroep Brabant, was het "spannend" of de deal ook echt tot uiting zou komen. "Het was een ontlading toen je de beelden zag." Op de beelden was te zien hoe een gijzelaar weer thuiskwam. "Dit is de onderhandeling en wat er uitgekomen is. Hamas heeft iets heel kostbaars in handen en zullen in die zin hun huid duur verkopen", stelt Linders. Camera's legden het moment ook vast. "Het is iets heel intiems, maar het is ook onderdeel van het wereldnieuws", vindt Vreekamp. Sahla Soumaya verscheen gister bij Sophie Hilbrand aan tafel voor een opvallend interview. Soumaya is voormalig veiligheidsadviseur voor de VVD, ondertussen geroyeerd lid, en voor die tijd veroordeeld tot drie jaar gevangenisstraf vanwege verboden wapenbezit en lidmaatschap van een terroristische organisatie. Het gesprek resulteerde in ongemak, volgens Politiek verslaggever Tessel Linders. "In het hele gesprek komt niet naar voren wat de gedachte hierachter was", zegt Linders. "het is jammerlijk mislukt om een lijn in dat gesprek te hebben." Jan Slagter, baas van Omroep Max, laat weten dat ook het interview niet begreep. "Ik snapte het helemaal niet, het was een mannier van straatjes schoonvegen", zegt Slagter. "Sophie probeerde er een lijn in te brengen maar Soumaya fietste er steeds doorheen." Joep School, eindredacteur van de talkshow Op1 liet weten dat het interview een onbevredigend gevoel achter heeft gelaten bij hen. "Ik had echt kromme tenen", zegt Linders. 

Het tweejarig Historisch Spektakel in Grave gaat alweer zijn vierde editie tegemoet, en opnieuw wordt de betrokkenheid van de Graafse bevolking, centrumondernemers, muzikanten en maatschappelijk geëngageerde organisaties hoog gewaardeerd. Peter Linders, een trotse inwoner van Grave en tevens medeorganisator, kijkt vol verwachting uit naar 2024. Dit jaar is namelijk bijzonder, omdat het Spektakel samenvalt met de 350e herdenking van de tragische veldslag van 1674. Daarom starten we op zaterdagochtend van 6 april, met een symposium over het beleg en bevrijding van Grave. Als bestuurslid van Stichting Vestingstad Grave voelt hij zich nauw betrokken bij deze gedenkwaardige gebeurtenis.
