(Jl.4:12-21; Ps.97:1-2,5-6,11-12; Lk.11:27-28) "Near is the day of the Lord in the valley of decision." And so, "blest are they who hear the word of God and keep it." For though "sun and moon are darkened and the stars withhold their brightness," though "mountains melt like wax before the Lord," "light dawns for the just," and for them "the mountains shall drip new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk." Yes, "the heavens and the earth quake, but the Lord is a refuge to His people." Are we His people? Are our hearts set upon Him? Are we blest as our Mother with keeping the word of God, of putting it into practice, of giving our yes to all His words, and His commands? Are these commands sweet as honey, are they the new wine we drink each day? From Him do we find our daily bread? Though we are in His Church and have the blessed breasts of this great Mother to nurse us, though we are here where the hills of the Lord "flow with [His] milk" – though we have at our hands the Body and Blood of the Lord and the true teaching, the Word of God, in our ears by His grace upon this House of God, do we truly appreciate these gifts He provides: do we eat and drink unto our salvation and keep His word as an ever flowing stream of life in our souls, at the heart of our beings? "The channels of Judah shall flow with water," as now they do. Do we wash ourselves clean in that water that "issue[s] from the house of the Lord"? Are we prepared for the day of decision? Let us rejoice in Him, brothers and sisters. "Be glad in the Lord, you just, and give thanks to His holy name." With the psalmist let us raise our song and proclaim His justice to all the peoples. For what should we have but joy as we take refuge in His promise, as we come to the table of the New Covenant each day and share even now in the life He offers forth through His holy sacrifice. And let us pray to our Mother, Mary, that we shall be as she is, that we shall be so true to the Lord and serve as His handmaidens amongst the world. May she keep us close to the nourishing food the Church holds for all her children; and may our decision be as firm as hers as we give our unfailing yes to the Lord and so know His grace and blessing. ******* O LORD, if we but keep your Word, we shall be blessed on the Day Jesus comes. YHWH, you dwell on Zion, your holy mountain; may we dwell there with our Blessed Mother. The mountains melt like wax before you, O LORD. The heavens and the earth quake, but you are a refuge to your people. Truly blessed are all who make their home in you, who do your will in this world. And so, as sun and moon are darkened, as this world you reduce to dust, may we be gathered into your arms, to the breast of our Mother. Let the heavens proclaim your justice, LORD; let all holy souls give thanks to your NAME. For light dawns through the darkness for the upright of heart, and your children abide forever in your presence even as their enemies are destroyed. Blessed let us be, O Holy LORD, to follow where your Son does lead, for He leads us only unto you. O may we hear and keep your Word! Blessed Mother, pray for us.
Quote of The Day: “Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?” - “Matthew 21:42 (KJV): Hosts: Kanyinsola Omojola, Goodness Ezeh
In this episode, Pastor David Maestas teaches through Hebrews 10, a chapter that powerfully declares the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice. Unlike the endless animal offerings of the old covenant that could never take away sin, Jesus offered Himself once for all, bringing lasting forgiveness and access to God. Because of His finished work, we are invited to draw near with confidence, knowing that our hearts are cleansed and our consciences made new. Pastor David also highlights the call to perseverance—holding unswervingly to the hope we profess and encouraging one another as we see the Day approaching. The warning against shrinking back is sobering, but the promise is greater: those who endure in faith will receive what God has promised. This passage reminds us that our confidence isn't in ourselves, but in the one sacrifice that changed everything.

Welcome to Episode #179 of the Way of the Bible podcast. This is our third of eight episodes in our Twenty-Third mini-series entitled The Return of Jesus Christ [2]. On today's episode, we'll look at New Testament passages that speak of the most written about time in the Bible, the return of Jesus Christ to judge the world in righteousness on the Day of the Lord [3].What we are chasing through the Scriptures is directly related to a matter-of-fact statement God made to the serpent when pronouncing a curse on him in the Garden of Eden. Genesis 3:15 – And I [God] will put enmity between you [the serpent] and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”The prophetic Scriptures tell of a day yet to come when Jesus, the offspring of the woman, will do away with the serpent who enslaves mankind to do his will because of their fear of death. Because Adam ate the forbidden fruit in defiance of God's command, sin entered the world and death through sin. In consequence, corruption to decay also came upon the entire created cosmos. Paul, in speaking to his understudy – Timothy, describes the condition of those opposed to the gospel in 2 Timothy 2:26 – Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. This is where I get “being taken captive to do the devil's will.”The writer of Hebrews speaks of mankinds enslavement to the devil in Hebrews 2:14-15 – Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.A coming global leader who will be the offspring of the devil will arise in the days ahead. He will charm and deceive the world and become it's leader. In jealousy and wrath he will order the peoples and nations of the world to conduct genocide on both Jews and Christians in the world at that time. He and an army he will be leading to attack Jerusalem will be destroyed in a moment by a word from Jesus' mouth on the Day of the Lord. The Day Jesus returns to judge the world in righteousness and redeem a remnant of Israel still in the land.

For most of my life, I thought I knew Jesus. My image of Him came from pop Catholicism, Easter sermons, and Hollywood movies where He looked untouchable, glowing, and serenely above it all. I imagined Him like Superman in sandals, tossing miracles around as easily as a magician pulls rabbits from a hat. He seemed immune to doubt, unaffected by the atmosphere around Him. But after a year of listening daily to the Gospels on the Hallow app, I started meeting a very different Jesus: a Jesus who is deeply human, relational, and, most shockingly, vulnerable. The scene that changed everything for me is in Nazareth. Matthew 13:53–58 describes how Jesus returned to His hometown synagogue to teach. The people were amazed but sneered, “Isn't this the carpenter's son?” Their familiarity blinded them. The passage concludes: “He did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.” Mark 6:5–6 is even more stark: “He could not do any miracles there, except lay His hands on a few sick people and heal them. He was amazed at their lack of faith.” Luke 4:28–30 shows their hostility escalating until they drove Him out and nearly threw Him off a cliff. The Gospels are crystal clear. This is not Jesus deciding not to waste His power. This is Jesus unable to act because the atmosphere itself suffocated His miracles. The room's disbelief severed the connection. Divine power flows only where faith breathes life into it. Without faith, there is no circuit, no current, no oxygen. He came ready to give, but the air was dead. That realization floored me. Jesus wasn't punishing anyone. He wasn't holding back out of pride. He entered Nazareth wide open, prepared to heal, but the faithless atmosphere rendered Him powerless. Like a flame starved of oxygen, the miracles simply died. This doesn't make Him less divine; it makes His humanity even more real. Even knowing who He was—the Messiah, the Son of God—He felt the sting of rejection. He healed a few, then walked away, not because He was offended, but because there was nothing left to work with.Faith here isn't about earning God's favor. It's the medium through which His power moves. In Nazareth, the room was barren, and so the miracles stalled. Where faith existed, the current flowed. The disciples provided that faith, breathing life into His mission. They amplified His power, and He poured authority into them to heal and preach. His divinity was never hoarded; it multiplied where belief made space. This moment also reframes His thirty hidden years. Pop culture makes it seem like Jesus simply appeared at thirty and started tossing miracles. But those decades of study, prayer, and humility were preparation for this: a ministry completely dependent on relational power, not raw force. Even after all that, Nazareth still saw only Joseph's boy. Their disbelief blinded them to who stood before them.Nazareth is not just a story; it's a warning. If the disbelief of His childhood friends could hobble the Son of God, how much more does unbelief drain us? We need people who keep the current alive, who breathe faith into our lives. Jesus needed that. So do we.This scene should be central to how we understand Him. It shows a Messiah who bleeds emotionally, whose power dies in dead rooms, and who walks away not out of anger but because the grid is down. The Gospels don't sanitize this. They show us a God whose power is not over us, but with us—power that only lives where faith gives it breath.Maybe that's the miracle. And maybe—just maybe—He's still walking into rooms today, searching for oxygen.

Today’s devotional reminds us of one of the most beautiful truths of our faith: Jesus understands what it means to be human. He experienced hunger, thirst, exhaustion, and yes — even anguish so deep that He sweat drops of blood in the Garden of Gethsemane. (Luke 22:44) No matter what you're facing — heartbreak, fear, anxiety, or loss — Jesus isn’t distant from your pain. He’s felt it, carried it, and overcome it. This Easter and every day, we can be assured that the One who conquered death understands every burden we bear. And just as God sent strength to Jesus in His moment of need, He promises to send help to us too — whether through His Word, His people, or His angels. We encourage you to pray:“Lord, thank You for knowing what it’s like to hurt, to grieve, and to feel overwhelmed. Help me to follow Your example of surrender and trust, and to lean on You for strength in my hardest moments.” Join the Conversation:When was a time you felt God’s strength in a season of deep distress? How do you find peace in knowing Jesus understands what you’re walking through? We’d love to hear your story — connect with us on social media @LifeAudioNetwork or leave a comment on Crosswalk.com. Your testimony might be the encouragement someone else is praying for today.

Quote of The Day: Jesus taught his disciples to ‘always pray and not give up' (v.1). You can talk to God not just in church or in set times of prayer, but anywhere and at anytime. I was taught very early in my Christian life to ‘talk as you walk' through the day. Never give up praying and pray hardest when it is hardest to pray. Host: TOLA Omoniyi

1 Corinthians 1:18: John 10:14-18: Luke 23 What would you list as the Top 5 dates in history? - The Day Jesus was crucified on the cross. "For the word (message) of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." (1 Corinthians 1:18) - What did Jesus say about that day? "I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me, even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father, and I lay down My life for the sheep. I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd. For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again. No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father." (John 10:14-18) - What events took place in Jerusalem on that day? (Luke 22:66-Luke 23) - Jesus is questioned by the Council of Elders, Chief Priests, and Scribes. (Luke 22:66-71) - Jesus is questioned by Pilate. (Luke 23:1-7) - Jesus is questioned by Herod. (Luke 23:8-12) - Jesus is sentenced to be crucified and Barabbas is released. (Luke 23:13-25) - Jesus has his cross carried by Simon of Cyrene. (Luke 23:26-31) - Jesus is crucified between two criminals. (Luke 23:32-43) - Jesus died in such a way the Roman Centurion began praising God. (Luke 23:47) - Jesus has his body removed from the cross and buried by Joseph of Arimathea. (Luke 23:50-56)
