How do you stay healthy at this time? How can we remain resilient and committed to personal growth at this time? I talk about this and more in today's episode of the Undomesticated Woman Podcast Series!
Resilience is the word for these times in which we find ourselves. When it comes to dealing with the stresses of change d crisis, being resilient by way of radical selfcare, is the way to go! Many nations and communities are struggling with the challenges brought on and amplified, by covid 19. Civil unrest, social justice protests, demonstrations and bloodshed, are causing all of us to wake up! Our planet is in crisis and we who inhabit this unique space are also in crisis because we ARE all connected. Ladies, grab a snack, your favorite latté and let's encourage one another today.
Welcome my Undomesticated sisters! It's time to pull up a seat, grab a latté and some snacks because we've got a lot to talk about in honor of Juneteenth, y'all! Selfcare has always been about activism and this June 19 (Juneteenth) is made even more appropriate given the current civil rights and social justice movements that are now sweeping the globe in response to the murder of by law enforcement of George Floyd and others here in the U.S.A.This June 19th is a powerful reminder that selfcare is a radical movement that at it’s core lies empowerment and self advocacy. It is a rallying call to embrace the necessary changes that we all must undergo both individually and collectively. For in order to heal, transform and evolve, discomfort and action are all part of the process.
When we stop competing against each other, every woman wins. We are each limitless, unique and powerful in own right. But culture and society in general, have brainwashed (ie domesticated) women in to believing we need to ”measure” ourselves against some ”perfect” version of what a woman should be, look like, etc. Grab a latté or your favorite cup of tea and join the convo on combating the destructive of societal domestication of women!Learn what it means to be an #UndomesticatedWoman.

Hey goddesses! Grab you latté /tea and some snacks because we've got a lot to talk about today! In this latest episode of the Indomesticated Woman Series, we're diving in and unmasking societal (and media) myths around female-focused self-care and what that ”should” look like. There's still a lot of shame and guilt around women practicing self-care. Like a lot other forms of ”control”, shame and guilt is wielded against women in ways that force them to not only neglect their health but give up their power in order to be ”accepted”.It's time to smash the patriarchy and the altar of O.P.E (is, other people's expectations)! Nothing good comes from a lack of self-worth and boundaries! Time for some #RealGirlTalk
Today’s rant and discussion focuses on breaking down the truth about “self-sacrifice” and “self-care” for women. Over the past few months, we’ve been talking about conditioning and the “domestication “ women have been subjected to by both culture and society through out the decades. Today, we crack that open even more and address darkness beneath!Don’t forget to subscribe, download and share these nuggets with your friends, families, and neighbors my fellow goddesses!
Hello goddesses! Grab a latté and a snack because it’s time to chitchat once again! Today’s the day to reflect, look back on the past few months and ask yourself “am I still playing Rapunzle?! That’s right. If you’re STILL waiting for permission to “selfcare”, sacrificing yourself on the altar of “O.P.E. (aka, other people’s expectations), running around on that hamster wheel-going-nowhere , THEN YOU are still playing Rapunzle-waiting for someone to come rescue you or tell you that , FINALLY you’ve earned your seat at the table.
Grab some java and join the convo ladies! Today's discuss is about the real truth behind selfcare and what it REALLY means for women everywhere. Be warned! It's not about smoothie bowls, complex yoga poses or celebrity-endorsed waist trimmers. ”A woman without agency is a woman in bondage”: Today's episode is about reminding women everywhere that, there is no ” savior” or ”guru” who will free you from the ”altar of O.P.E” (a.k.a. other people's expectations, restrictions, etc). For generations, women have bowed and been in ”service” to sociocultural structures and forces that have kept us silent and dis-empowered. The reality is that to those who benefit from this unequal status quo, women can expect both opposition and outright violence in some instances. One had only to look at the escalating violence against women in various regions of gdb globe to get the picture. It's bad. It's scary BUT, there is also hope. The real battle however, begins in the MIND!!
Are you settling? Accepting the status quo? “Living” with stress, burnout and overwhelm? My sistas , it’s time to rethink your “standard “ of living! I’m so tired of women giving up on living a healthy, empowered and fulfilled life because they have been conditioned to do so. Today’s rant is just about ALL of that and so much more!
Hello, #AwakenedGoddesses! Today's episode focuses in on the power of self care and it's ability to transform all areas of our lives. As I've often stated, selfcare is activism in motion and forces us to embrace a growth mindset. It's more than caring and nurturing the ”self”-it’s about empowering ourselves to reclaim ownership of our personhood as well as tearing down barriers and the shackles of ”O.P.E” (a.k.a. other people's expectations)!
why are we so ashamed to ask for what we want? The short answer is conditioning-we have been trained to value others before ourselves and that it's the mark of a "good" woman to do so. Are we not “super women”? Able to endlessly care and do for others with no need or desire to do for ourselves? How about asking for a time out? Yes, my sistas, we’re still drinking that cray cray kool-Aid and there’s nothing liberating or funny about that! Today’s rant and observations are geared toward opening ours eyes to the underlying issues women face when it comes to selfcare and empowerment.
Do you know what's at the core of self are for women? Did you know that selfcare is about ACTIVISM? Like so many other issues in the female domain, the ”activism” component of selfcare is largely played down by both the media and wellness industry. It's no accident women! Today's episode dives into the ”why” of this and what that means for us women. Join the convo and share your thoughts and opinions right here and at freedomatthecrossroads.com as well as on @itunes and @spotify
Hey, my fellow goddesses! It's time to level up and get fierce about reclaiming our power and our voices! Have you ever considered what it will take to break free from O.P.E.? The primal forces you will have to tap into in order to break the conditioning and domestication of society, culture and the status quo? Get ready to kill the C.O.Ws!!! Say whaaat? I’m talking about killing the conditioning that keeps you “Comparing Other Women” to yourself (aka C.O.W.)!!! I’ll be discussing this and more as we get comfortable with the uncomfortable today!Tune in for more on all my platforms:On @itunes, @spotify : Freedom At The Crossroads
Wellness and self-care require activism! Self-care for women is more than losing unhealthy weight or getting ”enough sleep “. Today we continue to pull apart the myths around women’s selfcare, selflove and so much more!Be prepared to hear some hard truths and be ready to get uncomfortable as we begin to “kill that C.O.W. !” No it’s not about cattle y’all! It’s the comparing other women to who we see in the mirror every freaking day!
welcome to another episode! We'll be continuing with the theme of the undomesticated woman for 2019 in today's discussion and rant. Today's discussion centers around "killing the C.O.W." and what that that looks like in the context of female-focused selfcare. Before our vegan women out there get riled up, killing the C.O.W. is my acronym for killing the mindset of comparing other women to the woman you see in the mirror each day! It's about breaking the toxic mindset of constantly measuring ourselves to other women.
One of the main barriers to selfcare for women is O.P.E.(aka, other people’s expectations)! Women have been conditioned and “domesticated “ into believing that our worth is tied what we give and do for others, what roles society and culture have ascribed to us, etc. This is the reason why empowerment is so critical to the practice of selfcare for women. In today’s podcast episode I begin dive into the why and how to break this toxic cycle!
Are you tired of the media’s portrayal and ”models” of self care? I. Am. So. Over. It!!! Selfcare is not a plethora of skinny , young women striking complex yoga poses, photo shopped pictures of smoothie bowls or stories about “ my vegan journey”! Real SELFCARE is about power, self-determination and basic human dignity! There’s nothing pretty about the battle for human rights, dignity etc, being waged by women across the globe. This is not the story the media wants to tell nor those who want to maintain the status quo. Selfcare in it’s rawest form is EMPOWERMENT in all areas of our lives; especially when it comes to our health and wellbeing. Let’s talk!
Happy weekend and the podcast that’s all about empowered selfcare for women everywhere! Today I’m diving deep into what it really means to “selfcare” as a woman as well as the realities of what we go through as they try to practice it. It’s not an easy thing for the everyday woman and far too often society and O.P.E. (other people’s expectations) create barriers to the practice of female selfcare.
Continuing our discussion of O.P.E. (aka other people's expectations ), we dive into unmasking this phenomenon in media and society particularly in the self are industry. I reveal some of the truths about why diets often fail, etc. Join the discussion and be sure to subscribe to get the latest episodes!
Today’s talk is about barriers to self-care for women. Too many times women feel guilty about taking time to care for the own needs, not to talk about finding the time to actually do it! How many times have we sacrificed our health on the altar of .O.P.E.?Are you still waiting for society or culture to tell you that it’s okay to put your health and needs first? Good luck with that one! In 2019 women in the U.S. are still waiting for a powerful few (mostly old white males) to tell them that their bodies belong to them!Today we talk about this and more!
Today we’re discussing compromise, conditioning, O.P.E. and self-care. I’ll be talking about the realities of compromise when it comes to our self-care and driving home the fact that women’s self-care is activism! We still live in age an where women still compromise their health, dreams, and sense of self. It’s time to “break the wheel!”
Today we continue our discussion about breaking the cycle of O.P.E. (other people’s expectations) and what it means to become An Undomesticated Woman on the selfcare journey. We discuss how historically women have been conditioned to accept less than what we deserve as human beings and as individuals.I also touch on the “huntress “ series coming summer of 2019! Follow me here and on social for more rants and discussions in this feminine space!
There’s nothing more powerful than an empowered healthy woman who is breaking the shackles of O.P.E.! From tearing down barriers in the Sochi-political arena to society at large, women are awakening all over the globe. The important thing to remember is that it does not come without consequences!Like anything worth having, self-empowerment requires that YOU break the conditioning and “forces” that have stolen your power to begin with. Those that want to maintain the status quo will resist you-and girl, that can truly get ugly! Let’s talk about what’s happening and chit chat, why don’t we?
Happy women’s day! Today’s short is short and sweet and is a rallying call for women Everton rise up, break the silence and break the chains of O.P.E !!
Breaking the cycle of silence and domestication are my latest rants and thoughts for today. Today I’m sharing part of my story in the hopes that others will be emboldened and empowered to share their own.

Today's episode is about breaking free from ”OPE” (a.k.a other people's expectations)! It's about realizing that giving in to OPE means giving away your own personal power and essence. We have been conditioned into thinking that ”OPE” is benign and non-threatening or destructive. That couldn't be further from the truth!Enjoy today's rant and share your thoughts on ”OPE” and what you're going to do to change that moving forward.
Today I continue with our topic and theme of the undomesticated woman and what that means. From being vulnerable to domestic abuse (globally) to breaking the silence on all the issues that women continue to deal with today!
In our continuing discussion, we move forward with what it means to be an “Undomesticated “ woman (a woman who is fully empowered and self-assured) as well as revisit some of the things that hinder us from owning who we are. Becoming an Undomesticated Woman is a both a journey and growth process in which we strive to fully step into that version of ourselves to which we are called. Are you still struggling, bound and constrained by the roles and expectations of culture, society and other people? Then get ready to be free!
Today's episode sheds light on what happens when women compromise, give ground and lose themselves in the roles and spaces that society has placed them. Here, I rant about some key indicators of women trapped in the lies that society, media and culture have conditioned us. For more or my rants and thoughts, join me on Instagram @tonyetariahhealth, twitter @ttariahhealth and Facebook @ Tonye Tariah Health strategist.

This is an introduction to my "why" in terms of what motivated me to embark upon this journey. Life has taught me that balance in all areas of life, is an integral part of a sustainable and healthy lifestyle. It's for all the courageous women who are STILL struggling with the notion of selfcare, self worth and validation. In this space, you will learn, be inspired to grow as an individual who knows her worth and is ready to reclaim her power and pursue her true purpose and passion. Blessings on the journey!
