On this episode of From The Ground Up, Dow reminisces with John Black, who has been the Executive Director of the Smyrna / Rutherford County Airport Authority since 1991. Dow Smith Company began the following year, and one of Dow's first projects was at the airport. During their three-decade friendship, their businesses have grown as Rutherford County has boomed.      

As one of Dow Smith Company's longest serving employees, Steve Williams has done just about everything – and he likes it that way. In 2000, Dow hired Steve to work for a few weeks – and decades later, he's still here. Steve has stuck with his job as a construction technician for so many years because he loves getting to do different things every day. Steve says he uses his 20+ years of experience not just to do quality work on every job site, but also to educate newer employees.
