Daryl and Lima break down the stark contrast between Todd Monken calling the Sorsby situation a slippery slope and Andrew Berry responding with compassion and a call for grace, raising real questions about whether the Browns could eventually take a shot on the embattled quarterback prospect. The guys debate whether Sorsby's gambling issues represent a pattern of bad decisions or a genuine addiction, and whether his path back runs through a big season at Texas Tech. One thing is clear: if Sorsby emerges as a Heisman candidate this fall, this conversation is far from over.
Amy is joined once again by fan-favorite guest Eli Weinstein, making his second appearance on the Expecting & Empowered podcast! A longtime supporter of the show and author of From I Do to We Do, Eli brings his signature blend of honesty, humor, and practical wisdom to a conversation about marriage during the busy years of raising young children. Together, Amy and Eli explore what it takes to stay connected as a couple when life feels all-consuming with its never ending mental load of parenthood. One of the central themes of the conversation is the importance of shifting from a “me” mindset to a “we” mindset. Eli explains why keeping score in a relationship - tracking who did more chores, who got less sleep, or who is carrying more of the load - can create resentment, communication breakdowns, and disconnection over time. Instead, he encourages couples to work as a team by openly communicating their needs and sharing responsibilities. Amy and Eli discuss the powerful connection between movement and mental health, especially during demanding seasons of parenthood. They explore how taking care of physical health can positively impact emotional well-being, stress management, and relationships. The conversation highlights the importance of small, intentional moments of connection between partners and how seemingly simple gestures can strengthen a marriage during the years when time and energy are often in short supply. He shares a list of ideas you can implement into your relationship! The episode wraps with a thoughtful discussion on navigating relationships with extended family and establishing healthy boundaries with in-laws. Filled with practical tools, relatable examples, and encouraging reminders, this conversation offers couples actionable ways to strengthen their partnership and remember that they are on the same team through every season of family life.If you enjoyed listening to this episode, we would love it if you could share it to your Instagram stories and tag us, @eliweinstein_lcsw and @expectingandempowered. On this episode we have on therapist and author Martina Nova. We talked about having 2 kids, kids being almost out of diapers, being overwhelmed at a farmer's market with 2 kids, nervous system regulation, why she focuses on nervous systems, curiosity in relationships, her work as a trauma therapist, and writing her book Same Page Parenting. I really enjoyed her book Same Page Parenting. This book takes so many subjects that you encounter when you have kids and gives you a way to start conversations about it. She takes subjects like identity, intimacy, screen time, food, neurodivergence and talks about her relationship with it, resources to learn more about it, and then a list of questions to think about depending on the age and phase of life your kid is in. Are all the teachers in your school, hallway, or team on the same page figuratively AND literally? Probably not! And that’s ok! But in this week’s episode of the This Teacher Life podcast, I’m breaking down four fun, realistic, and actually effective ways to help with that! I'll talk about how to move beyond the same old staff-meeting book club and instead create shared learning experiences that: Get teachers, staff, and students aligned around common goals Build buy-in instead of burnout Make professional learning feel engaging, collaborative, and doable Translate directly into better practices for students (not just notes in a binder) Whether you're a school leader, instructional coach, or classroom teacher who's tired of book studies that go nowhere, this episode will give you practical ideas you can implement immediately—with flexibility for different roles, schedules, and personalities in your building. If your school is craving consistency, connection, and momentum (without forcing another initiative), this episode is for you. Trust me…you'll want to “bookmark” this one! Building an amazing dental team is hard when everyone is “busy” but daily friction, miscommunication, and inconsistent expectations keep getting in the way. In this episode, Kirk Behrendt sits down with coach Jenni Poulos to explain how written team agreements create alignment, reduce conflict, and make accountability easier. You'll learn why individual, unwritten expectations create expensive operational friction, how agreements support core values with specific behaviors, and how to build a living document your team actually uses. Listen to Episode 1038 of The Best Practices Show!Main Takeaways:Alignment reduces daily friction by creating clear, shared expectations for how the team works together.Misalignment is expensive because it shows up in tone, handoffs, duplicated work, and ultimately impacts patient experience and profitability. The root of conflict is the gap between expectations and reality, summed up as E minus R equals C.Team agreements support core values by defining what those values look like in specific, observable behaviors during the workday.People resist surprise accountability more than accountability itself, and written agreements reduce that surprise.Agreements must be written, modeled by leadership, and used for coaching so accountability feels less personal and more objective.Team agreements should be created with the full team and revisited regularly so they stay “living,” not just “laminated.”Snippets:00:00 Welcome and Big Question01:17 Meet Jenny and Why Alignment Matters03:08 Core Values and Misalignment Costs05:18 Unwritten Rules Create Friction07:22 E Minus R Equals Conflict09:28 Team Agreements Create Clarity11:22 Written Agreements and Accountability15:48 Modeling Agreements and Coaching18:11 How to Build Agreements Together23:24 Final Takeaways and Next Steps25:38 Wrap Up and FarewellGuest Bio/Guest Resources:Jenni brings to dental teams a literal lifetime of experience in dentistry. Parenting can bring enormous joy but it can also put significant strain on relationships. In this episode, Dr. Whitney sits down with registered clinical counselor Martina Nova, author of Same Page Parenting, to talk about one of the most common challenges couples face after having children: getting on the same page. They discuss the invisible mental load that many parents (especially mothers!) carry, why conversations about parenting and division of labor often go sideways, and how couples can communicate more effectively when emotions run high. The conversation also explores how family-of-origin experiences shape parenting decisions, how to repair conflict in front of kids in healthy ways, and why raising neurodivergent children can add additional layers of stress and complexity to relationships. This episode offers practical tools and thoughtful insights for couples who want to parent as a team even when things feel messy.Read more.

Today I'm sharing a conversation I had with Dennison Joyce on his show Through the Looking Glass, originally aired on WIOX Radio last year (episode #228). Dennison asked me to walk through my program for parents, ROGD Repair, and to break down the framework I call the Trifecta of Social Contagion — the three interlocking forces I believe are driving the epidemic of young people identifying as transgender. Those three forces are: gender identity ideology, woke social justice narratives, and Cluster B personality traits. I explain how these elements work together like a perfectly engineered mind virus, exploiting the unique vulnerabilities of today's youth — their insecurities, rigidity, and need for identity — and how this creates a near-impossible situation for parents trying to help their kids. I also address the manufactured consensus inside the medical and psychiatric professions, and why so many therapists who could help are simply staying away from this issue. We also get into the practical side of my coaching work — what the ROGD Repair program is, how I work with families, and some of the most common mistakes parents make, including why showing your child detransitioner videos usually backfires. I share how porn, particularly hypnosis-style content, is deeply connected to the rise in gender confusion in teenage boys, and why early intervention matters more than most parents realize.FYI: this interview was recorded a few months prior to the release of RepairBot. All new ROGD Repair memberships now come with unlimited access to RepairBot, the AI companion tool designed to help with homework and strategizing.Books mentioned in this episode:Trans by Helen JoyceDennison Joyce hosts Through the Looking Glass on WIOX Radio. Inside, she explores: → What compensatory parenting is—and why disagreements about parenting styles push you into more extreme versions of yourself (the permissive parent becomes too passive, the harsh parent becomes too critical and controlling) → The real-life example: one parent over-explains, talks too much, and eventually gives in when kids protest; the other explodes with punishments that don't fit the crime—and neither is actually responding to what the child needs → The simple 3-step framework that works for both parenting styles: state the boundary clearly, express empathy without over-explaining, restate the boundary—then allow the child space to self-regulate → How to talk to your partner about co-parenting disagreements without it turning into a fight: come from a place of connection, not correction—stay child-focused, remain open, and ask "where can I give a little and where do you need to give a little?" → Why the more consistent and predictable your responses are as a team, the safer your child feels—and how getting on the same page transforms not just your parenting, but your partnership and your home Resources & Links: Mentioned in This Episode: → PARR Framework: Pause, Acknowledge, Respond, Reflect (Albiona's 4-step regulation process for managing parenting disagreements) → Raising Lions by Joe Newman (the reset/break concept for helping kids self-regulate) Connect with Albiona: → Book a Free Discovery Call (1:1 Coaching) - https://www.theparentingreframe.com/coaching → Follow Albiona on Instagram - @theparentingreframe → Join Albiona's Paid Substack Community - https://theparentingreframe.substack.com → Email Albiona: albiona@theparentingreframe.com Loved this episode? Because the truth is: you don't have to parent the exact same way. You just have to stop compensating for each other and start focusing on what your child actually needs. And when you do that—when you parent as a team instead of against each other—everything shifts. Until next time, Albiona

If you've ever avoided talking about money with your partner because you didn't want the conversation to turn into a disagreement, you're not alone. this week on Delusional Diaries, Halley and Jaz are back on the couch after a whirlwind couple of days, starting with Maddie's Miami wedding, which delivered everything: 6 a.m. glam, bridesmaid pool hangs, emotional speeches, and an after-party that turned into a full-on club experience. they reflect on watching a friend go from past heartbreaks to finding the right partner, the stress of wedding planning finally paying off, and why seeing someone's dream day unfold exactly how they imagined it hits so hard. the episode then shifts into a more vulnerable conversation as Jaz opens up about navigating an unexpected loss and the emotional whiplash of going from excitement to processing something entirely different. she shares what it's like to move through something deeply personal while also living online, balancing private grief with public commentary and unsolicited opinions. together, the girls get honest about hormones, healing, chosen family, and why adult friendships can truly feel like home during life's harder chapters.of course, they balance the heavy with their very original fun. they dive into the internet frenzy around Mikayla Nogueira's divorce announcement, debate whether the backlash was fair, and unpack the chaos of Tell Me Lies' manipulative men and morally grey characters. from influencer ads to toxic situationships, Australia travel plans, Invisalign updates, and 17-hour flight anxiety, this episode is raw, hilarious, and very on-brand: grief, gossip, growth, and a little delusion, all in one.Timestamps 0:32 - Maddie's wedding recap 15:05 - Internet topics 24:45 - Tell Me Lies Finale 32:56 - Getting on the same page 46:26 - Next Top Model More of Delusional Diaries Podcast:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/delusionaldiariespodcast/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@delusionaldiariespodcastYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@DelusionaldiariespodcastSubstack: https://delusionaldiariespodcast.substack.com/Website: https://delusionaldiaries.com/More of Halley:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/halleykmcg/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@halleykateMore of Jaz:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/justjazzzyidk/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@justjazzzyidkYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/justjazzzyidkLinksIM8 - IM8.com/delusional for a free welcome kit, 5 free travel sachets plus 10% off your order Wayfair - wayfair.com Nutrafol - nutrafol.com and enter promo code DELUSIONAL for $10 off your first month's subscription and freeshippingChime - chime.com/diaries See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
In this episode, Chris and I tackle two questions from our community that we see coming up time and time again: How do you create financial independence within a marriage, and how do you get on the same page with your spouse about money? Key Topics: The Reality for Women & Finances Nearly 1 in 3 Canadian women have no individual savings outside shared household finances After divorce, women's household income drops 23% on average (vs. only 10% for men) Women live 4-6 years longer than men but hold significantly less in retirement savings Why We Need to Talk About This Money is likely the #1 reason for divorce after infidelity We share our own journey—from financial stress and scorekeeping to building a healthier partnership The importance of viewing both partners' contributions (including stay-at-home work valued at $150-200K/year!) as equal Getting on the Same Page: Our Best Advice Start with the numbers—listen to last week's episode on preparing for a financial needs analysis Have the uncomfortable conversation and sit with the discomfort Focus on shared goals and values, not just budgets Schedule regular "money dates" to stay aligned Building Financial Independence Within Marriage Why you need separate accounts AND joint accounts Making sure both names are on major assets (mortgage, house deed, etc.) Understanding life insurance, disability, and critical illness coverage The difference between mortgage insurance and personal life insurance (this one's huge!) Creating a shared document with all your accounts and investments Red Flags to Watch For No access to financial information, logins, or passwords One partner controlling 100% of the money Being blocked from working or creating your own income Action Steps: Have the conversation—even if it's uncomfortable Get educated on basic financial literacy Consider booking a call with a financial advisor to create a plan together Make sure you both understand where all your money is and how it's protected Click here to listen: Apple Podcasts – CLICK HERESpotify – CLICK HERE Free Resources: Free Perimenopause Support Guide | jennpike.com/perimenopausesupport Free Blood Work Guide | jennpike.com/bloodworkguide The Simplicity Sessions Podcast | jennpike.com/podcast Get 20% on thewalkingpad.com using code "JENNPIKE20" Get discounts at happybumco.com using code "JENNPIKE" *code doesn't apply with Black Friday sale* Programs: Ignite: Your 8-Week Body Transformation Program | https://jennpike.com/ignite The Peri & Menopause Project - Join the Waitlist | jennpike.com/theperimenopauseproject Synced Virtual Fitness Studio | jennpike.com/synced Services: Work With Jenn | https://jennpike.com/work-with-jenn/ Functional Testing | jennpike.com/testing-packages Business Mentorship | The Audacious Woman Mentorship: jennpike.com/theaudaciouswoman Connect with Jenn: Instagram | @jennpike Facebook | @thesimplicityproject YouTube | Simplicity TV Website | The Simplicity Project Inc.
