"He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us" (Jas. 4:5 NASB).   God reminded me that my heart, joined to His Spirit, has tremendous creative capacity to incubate (and birth) either good or evil, wonder or defilement, joy or despair, life or death, depending on whom I listen to.James goes on to describe the things I should be careful not to do so that I am properly yielding the creative capacity of my heart and spirit to God ALONE, allowing Him to jealously be the ONLY One Who imprints messages upon my heart. Question: If I find I am doubting something I received in my journaling time together with God what am I do? Especially when God speaks something, and reality does not appear to be lining up with it.Answer: When God speaks to us, through two-way journaling or any other way (and our 2-3 spiritual advisors have confirmed it), He is offering us His potential blessing for our lives which we can receive if we embrace it, believe, speak and wait patiently for it, while following His instructions. It seems that the biggest battle we all fight is that these rhema words get attacked through the reasoning of our minds. The accuser comes through with a challenge of accusation, "What God said is not really true" (Gen. 3:1-4).  So when reason attacks faith, what am I to do? Which is to be allowed to rule in my heart? How do I write a message on the walls of my heart? What is the language of my heart? How do I engage in “heart prayers” rather than prayers from my head? Is there a difference?I encounter people who have been in counseling for months or years to process their hurts and are still in pain! When talking to the leadership team at Catch the Fire in Toronto, they confirmed that when they pray for people, not everyone is slain in the Spirit. For those who don't know, being slain in the Spirit is falling over (generally backward), when someone is in front of you praying for you. The understanding is that the Holy Spirit is coming upon them and this weakens them so they fall down, and then normally they rest under the Spirit's power as they lay on the floor and He ministers to them.Read more here.Support the show
