Matthew 5:14-16 says, “You are the light of the world… No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” When you go to work, do you switch off your faith? Do you put your belief under a bowl? Or do you proudly display it, letting it shine so that others can see it? The thing is, nobody benefits from your light if it's hidden... no one even knows it's there! But when you let your light - your faith - shine proudly at work, every good deed and kind word will bring glory to God! These regular parts of your day, suddenly become opportunities to share the love of Christ with everyone around you.

I actually recorded this last night but after doing a lot of editing I ended up calling it a night. I was dog tired as the saying goes. Talking about the insane fires that ravished parts of southern California recently. It's disgusting to see how people are practically heartless simply because of their opinions of democrats and those who are very wealthy living in California. However, hope carries on and there's been a lot of good shining through despite the tragedy. That gives me hope for humanity or that we are not getting closer to it being gone. I also talk about something I'm struggling with and it has to do with pursing a master's in a field I am not even in and is it worth the anxiety and stress to go three or more years when it won't really have any true benefit, career wise. Or should I stick to my passion in writing and get truly serious with it, finally! I feel I have my answer; however, I do appreciate any feedback you all may have.

It all began on Friday night, when Mallorca extended their fantastic start to the season by coming from behind to beat Valencia.A potentially pivotal Saturday in the race? Barcelona were celebrating their 125th birthday, but there was nothing left to enjoy on the pitch, as they lost 2-1 at home to Las Palmas. That's three without a win for Hansi Flick's men, with just one point from a possible nine, allowing the chasing Madrid pack back in the fight. Atleti took full advantage with a crushing 5-0 win in Valladolid, a result which saw them strike 11 goals on the road in the space of four days, and one which spelt the end of the road for Paulo Pezzolano, who was finally relieved of his duties at the Pucela helm. Real Madrid also put Anfield behind them with a comfortable enough 2-0 win over Getafe, with Jude Bellingham promoted to penalty taker. It was also a great weekend for Espanyol, and Athletic, the latter capping a superb week with a come-from-behind win at Rayo. Matchday 15 provided more dramatic twists and turns in the title race, as well as plenty of action throughout the league table. It all began on Friday night, when Mallorca extended their fantastic start to the season by coming from behind to beat Valencia.A potentially pivotal Saturday in the race? Barcelona were celebrating their 125th birthday, but there was nothing left to enjoy on the pitch, as they lost 2-1 at home to Las Palmas. That's three without a win for Hansi Flick's men, with just one point from a possible nine, allowing the chasing Madrid pack back in the fight. Atleti took full advantage with a crushing 5-0 win in Valladolid, a result which saw them strike 11 goals on the road in the space of four days, and one which spelt the end of the road for Paulo Pezzolano, who was finally relieved of his duties at the Pucela helm. Real Madrid also put Anfield behind them with a comfortable enough 2-0 win over Getafe, with Jude Bellingham promoted to penalty taker. It was also a great weekend for Espanyol, and Athletic, the latter capping a superb week with a come-from-behind win at Rayo. In this episode, we'll be discussing the important topics of empathy and emotional intelligence. We'll learn about what these concepts mean, how they are related to each other, and what science has to say about them. We'll also be joined by a special guest, Sandra Thomson, who is an expert in this field. Sandra will share her insights on what we can learn about empathy. What is empathy? Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another person. It is an important skill that allows us to connect with others and build strong relationships. What is emotional intelligence? Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize, understand, and manage our own emotions, as well as the emotions of others. It is a complex skill that is essential for success in all areas of life.   What does neuroscience teach us about empathy? Recent research has shown that empathy is not just a social skill, but also a biological one. The brain has a number of regions that are involved in empathy, including the amygdala, the insula, and the prefrontal cortex. These regions are also involved in other social emotions, such as compassion and guilt. What can we learn from dogs about empathy? Dogs are incredibly empathetic creatures. They are able to read our emotions and respond to them in a compassionate way. For example, dogs will often comfort us when we are sad or stressed. They may also try to make us laugh or smile when we are feeling down. How can we improve our empathy and emotional intelligence? There are a number of things we can do to improve our empathy and emotional intelligence. Some tips include: Practicing active listening. When someone is talking to you, try to really listen to what they are saying. Pay attention to their body language and facial expressions. Putting yourself in the other person's shoes. Try to imagine how the other person is feeling. What might be going through their mind? Expressing empathy. Let the other person know that you understand how they are feeling. You can do this by saying things like, "I'm sorry to hear that," or "I can imagine how difficult that must be." Developing self-awareness. It is important to be aware of your own emotions before you can understand the emotions of others. Conclusion: Empathy and emotional intelligence are two important skills that we can all benefit from. By learning more about these concepts and practicing them in our daily lives, we can build stronger relationships, improve our communication skills, and lead more fulfilling lives.
