Eat My Flesh, Drink My Blood What if Jesus wants more than your belief? What if He wants your complete union with Him? In Episode 165 of 2 Minute Disciple, we meditate on John 6:52–59, one of the most challenging and misunderstood passages in all of Scripture. As the crowd struggles to understand Jesus' teaching, He does something surprising. He doesn't soften His words. He doesn't explain them away. Instead, He presses deeper. “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you cannot have eternal life within you.” These words shocked His listeners, and they continue to challenge readers today. Jesus is not describing a distant relationship built on admiration, agreement, or occasional spiritual activity. He is describing a relationship as intimate and essential as food itself. Food becomes part of us. It nourishes us from within. It sustains our lives. In the same way, Jesus invites us to receive His life so deeply that His presence becomes the source of our strength, wisdom, peace, and identity. This is the language of abiding. “Anyone who eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him.” The Christian life is not merely following Jesus from a distance. It is living in continual communion with Him. His life becomes our life. His strength becomes our strength. His presence becomes the atmosphere in which we live and move. This passage reminds us that Christianity is not simply about believing truths about Jesus. It is about participating in His life. In this episode, you'll discover: • Why Jesus intensified His teaching when the crowd objected • What it means to “feed” on Christ spiritually • The biblical meaning of abiding in Jesus • How union with Christ transforms everyday life • A practical habit for practicing the presence of God Scripture John 6:52–59 (NLT)

If you've ever wondered what Jesus really meant by being “born again,” this episode will bring clarity and hope. Samuel Goulet teaches from John 3:1–21, using the miracle of pregnancy and birth as a powerful picture of spiritual rebirth, and walks through Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus to show that following Christ is more than admiring His teachings—it's receiving new life by the Spirit through faith in the Son, rooted in God's love (John 3:16). With practical encouragement for growth, cleansing, and daily communion with God, this message invites you to move from living by the flesh to living by the Spirit and to respond to Jesus' call to new life.

In this message from Hebrews 9–10 and 12, Pastor Jim explores what truly happened on the cross and why it matters for how we understand our faith. He frames the message around three movements: the problem, the cross, and communion with God. The problem is not only sin, but the guilt and shame that come with it, shaping how we see ourselves and relate to God. While people often try to resolve this through religion, self-effort, or self-condemnation, these approaches may cover sin temporarily but never fully cleanse the conscience or remove shame.Pastor Jim explains that the cross accomplishes what nothing else can. Through His sacrifice, Jesus provides eternal redemption, removing guilt and taking on shame once and for all. Unlike repeated sacrifices or personal striving, the work of Christ is complete, offering a finished solution that frees believers from trying to earn acceptance. The cross is not just a doctrine to understand, but a reality that transforms how we see ourselves, replacing condemnation with forgiveness and restoring our value through the love of Christ. As a result, the cross opens the way for true communion with God. Because of Jesus, believers can draw near with confidence, no longer defined by guilt or shame, but by grace and righteousness in Him. Pastor Jim emphasizes that this truth must move from something we believe once to something we live daily, continually returning to the cross and allowing it to shape our identity, faith, and relationship with God.
John Newton, the composer of "Amazing Grace," was asked by a friend how he could know he truly had communion and fellowship with God.In Newton's reply he pointed to several realities, the first of which we focused on in this message: Communion with God presupposes union with God through faith in Jesus Christ.John Newton's full letter is linked below.

Do this in remembrance of me." [25] In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me." In this episode, Matthew “Whiz” Buckley shares the origin and meaning of The Sacred Warrior Path - a spiritual journey forged not through wellness culture or self-optimization, but through surrender, responsibility, and a return to God.Speaking from lived experience, Buckley traces his path from a personal breaking point to the disciplines that helped steady him, and ultimately to a profound reconnection with God through sacred sacrament. He challenges common misconceptions about healing, rejecting the idea of gurus, saviors, or “healers,” and instead affirms that healing belongs to God alone. This conversation draws a clear boundary between Sacred Warrior Fellowship and secular psychedelic or wellness spaces. It is not an invitation to chase experiences, but a call to serious spiritual work, discernment, and communion with God. Listeners are reminded that this path is not easy, comfortable, or performative—but for those called to it, it leads toward truth, responsibility, and eternal life. This episode is for those seeking depth over novelty, faith over fantasy, and return over escape.

In this episode of the MAX Afterburner Podcast, host Matthew “Whiz” Buckley sits down with Bridger Lee Jensen, founder of Singularism, a Utah-based entheogenic church currently engaged in a landmark legal battle with the state of Utah.Whiz, who founded Sacred Warrior Fellowship last year, shares how he discovered Singularism and was immediately drawn to their fight to defend religious freedom at its core. Together, Whiz and Bridger take a deep dive into the legal case, the constitutional foundations of religious liberty in America, and why the right to sacramental communion lies at the heart of what this country was built to protect. The conversation explores how entheogenic sacraments like psilocybin are not about recreation or escape, but about healing, transformation, and direct communion with God. Both men share their personal religious backgrounds, the faith traditions they were raised in, and the moments that ultimately led them to step outside institutional frameworks and into their current missions. This episode challenges listeners to reconsider where God is encountered, who gets to decide what counts as legitimate faith, and why so many seekers are finding profound healing and reconnection with the Divine within through sacramental practice. This is a powerful, timely, and deeply human conversation that speaks to veterans, seekers, legal minds, and anyone concerned about the future of religious freedom in America. A must-listen episode. To learn more or support their ongoing legal fight, visit singularism.org.Return Home.
This episode explores the biblical concept of the “secret place,” emphasizing intentional solitude and prayer as the primary arena where identity as sons and daughters of God is formed, drawing from Matthew 6 and Psalms to show that true spiritual transformation does not happen in public, but in hidden communion with the Father. The speaker contrasts modern culture's fixation on noise, self‑promotion, emotional validation, and constant stimulation with God's invitation to silence, obedience, and submission, teaching that the secret place is not for self‑care or emotional relief, but for dying to self and becoming like Christ. Through personal stories, Scripture, historical Christian voices, and psychological research, the episode argues that freedom from fear, clarity of calling, and spiritual authority are birthed through faithful, disciplined time alone with God, where trust is built, idols are dismantled, and God's will takes precedence over personal feelings or ambition

In his book Man of Honor, Ray Pritchard shared the story of his stroll in a cemetery where he discovered a man’s grave marker with a wordy tribute. But then he describes an eye-catching epitaph on the gravestone of the man’s son: “A man of unquestioned integrity.” As Pritchard wrote: “Five words to sum up an entire life. Sixty-plus years distilled into five words. But, oh what truth they tell.” In Psalm 15:2, the concept of integrity is captured in the word blameless: “Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts” (nlt). This verse answers the question, “Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill?” (v. 1 nlt). The question (v. 1) and answer (v. 2) combination refers to communion with God. The rest of the psalm summarizes—in positive and negative terms—what a God-honoring life looks like. When we have intimate communion with God, it’s displayed in a life of integrity, particularly in how we treat others as the Spirit helps us (see Matthew 22:34-40; 1 John 3:16-18). It’s the posture of life that we assume when we believe in and follow Jesus—the one who lived in perfect communion with His Father.

In this sermon, Pastor Chris Romig emphasizes the reality of the unseen spiritual realm and the active spiritual warfare Christians face, drawing from Revelation chapter 9. He warns that Satan seeks to undermine believers, especially during seasons of prayer and fasting, referencing Paul's teaching in Ephesians 6 that our true struggle is against spiritual forces of evil. Chris interprets the symbolic imagery of the fifth trumpet judgment, where Satan is given the key to the bottomless pit, releasing demons described as monstrous locusts. He explains that these are fallen angels, some of whom are imprisoned until the final judgment, and references both Old and New Testament passages to underscore that demons are real and active despite modern skepticism. While the unleashed demons bring terrible torment to those who reject God, Chris reminds the faithful that God remains sovereign, setting firm limits and protecting those marked as His own. He addresses the unsettling reality of God's judgment by underscoring the seriousness of sin and God's patient desire for everyone to come to repentance, as highlighted in 2 Peter 3:9. Ultimately, Chris calls his listeners to recognize the true consequences of rejecting God's grace, to repent, and to find hope in the promise, that despite the world's evil, God's triumph and love will prevail.

Prayer is a common idea both inside and out of religious environments. Most people have thoughts on prayer, some experience with prayer, and questions about what prayer really is. Rebecca invites us into her own journey as she shares the beauty and complexity with prayer. Why still pray when we face disillusionment and disappointment of unanswered prayer or denied requests? Prayer is so much more than a list we submit to God. It begins with an invitation from God to sit with him. Through contemplation, meditation, confession, lament, interceding for friends, declaring God's goodness, stillness, listening, and awakening to God's presence, we experience communion with God.
This new "deeper life" series is drawn from recent staff workshops where John taught on two advanced spiritual skills needed in this particular hour and cultural moment. In the first half of the series, you'll discover how to enter into deeper communion with God through actual, intimate encounters with him—and how to make this a regular part of your sustenance rather than the rare, occasional experience. The session concludes with an extended communion exercise led by John.
