Solving JFK examines each issue in the JFK Assassination by looking at the arguments from both those who believe Oswald acted alone and those who believe there was a conspiracy to kill president Kennedy. Host Matt Crumpton analyzes each tree in the forest and then zooms out to look at the big picture. Objective truth is the paramount goal of the podcast, with every factual proposition cited. In season one, we look at whether the Warren Report got it right that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone assassin, and if not, what the open questions are that still need to be resolved.
The Solving JFK podcast is a must-listen for any history buff or true crime fan. Hosted by Matt, the podcast delves deep into the JFK assassination, providing detailed research and organization in each episode. The level of detail and factual information presented is impressive, making it an informative and captivating listen. One of the best aspects of this podcast is its ability to look at all sides of the story, weighing evidence carefully and discussing possible problems. This approach not only adds credibility to the podcast but also keeps the listener engaged and interested in uncovering the truth about JFK's assassination. Moreover, I appreciate how Matt brings out both the facts and their sources, allowing listeners to do their own digging and discover new information. With each episode, there seems to be something new that sheds light on this historical event. I eagerly look forward to season 2 of Solving JFK.
While Solving JFK has many positive aspects, there are a few potential shortcomings worth mentioning. Although the podcast aims to provide an unbiased approach by presenting available evidence, there may still be some inherent bias based on personal interpretations or beliefs. It would be helpful if Matt acknowledged any potential biases upfront to maintain transparency throughout the episodes. Additionally, given that this is an ongoing investigation into a complex topic like the JFK assassination, it would be valuable for future episodes to address any criticisms or alternative theories that may arise as more information becomes available.
In conclusion, The Solving JFK podcast stands out as a well-researched and organized exploration of one of America's biggest historical mysteries. Matt does an excellent job presenting facts in a clear and unbiased manner while encouraging listeners to form their own conclusions. The attention given to detail without sacrificing entertainment value is commendable. In this final episode of Season 2, we continue summarizing the big questions we covered this season, including: Did Lee Harvey Oswald Travel to Mexico City? What did LBJ mean when he told Earl Warren about a little incident in Mexico City? What was the role of Ruth and Michael Paine as it relates to Oswald? Did Oswald have intelligence connections? Was Oswald impersonated? and what was Oswald up to at the end of the day? During this season 2 of Solving JFK, we set out to answer the question “Who was Lee Harvey Oswald, really?” Like everything else in the JFK Assassination, to answer that question, we have to address multiple sub-questions, most of which have inconsistent evidence and disputed answers. In part 1 of this season 2 conclusion episode, we look back at the body of evidence that was covered over the last 32 episodes to try to provide an answer to some of the most important questions about the life of Lee Harvey Oswald? In this episode, we answer these questions: When did Oswald begin to express an interest in Marxism? And was his interest genuine? When did Oswald learn to speak Russian and how fluent was he?When Oswald went to the Soviet Union was he a bona fide defector who wanted to experience Soviet Russia or was he a false defector sent on behalf of an intelligence agency? What was George de Mohrenschildt's role in Oswald's life?Did Oswald work with Guy Banister in New Orleans?Did Oswald travel to Jackson and Clinton, Louisiana with David Ferrie and Clay Shaw?Is Jim Garrison's story about Oswald meeting with David Ferrie and Clay Shaw to plan a conspiracy to kill Kennedy true?
In this episode, we review Oswald's activities in the Fall of 1963, the culpability or lack thereof of Ruth and Michael Paine, Oswald impersonation attempts, and instances of foreknowledge of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. In this episode, we examine the disputed issues related to Oswald's alleged time in Mexico City, inlcluding whether Oswald traveled there, his actions once he was in place, the CIA's inability to capture Oswald on photo or video, and the big picture when it comes to Oswald in Mexico City. There are a few instances, some more well known than others, of people seemingly having foreknowledge of the JFK Assassination – meaning that they knew that President Kennedy would be killed before it happened. As we look at these cases, the big questions are whether the alleged foreknowledge was specific and whether the claims about the person having that information are credible. One recently declassified document hinted at such foreknowledge. It was a letter from CIA counterintelligence chief James Angleton to FBI director, J. Edgar Hoover. This memo says that an anonymous caller to a Cambridge, England newspaper said that the reporter should QUOTE “call the American Embassy in London for some big news.” The caller then hung up. What is notable about this call is that it was 25 minutes before President Kennedy was shot in Dallas. It wasn't specifically about President Kennedy, though the timing is close enough to make that inference. In this episode, we look at 6 more instances of reported foreknowledge of the JFK assassination, including Joseph Milteer, Eugene B. Dinkin, David Christensen, William Walter, Rose Cherami, and Richard Case Nagell.Twitter - https://twitter.com/solvingjfk Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/solvingjfk Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/solvingjfkpodcast Tik Tok - https://www.tiktok.com/@solvingjfk Transcripts and Sources - https://www.solvingjfkpodcast.com
Over the course of this season 2 of Solving JFK, a recurring theme that we've seen is the impersonation of Lee Harvey Oswald. It's one thing for a witness to say that they saw a guy who they thought looked identical to Oswald when we know that Oswald could not have been there.Witnesses are often incorrect about recollections of what they saw, especially what someone looked like. But, that's not the situation for the impersonations of Oswald that we've seen so far. In many cases, the witnesses said that the man they identified as Oswald provided extra details to make it clear that, if he wasn't really Oswald, he was trying to make people think that he was. When we talk about Oswald impersonations, what we mean is people believing the man they saw looked like Oswald combined with some unique identifying fact consistent with Oswald's life, like, for example, an ID card, his service in the Marines, or his time in the Soviet Union. In this episode, we look at the many impersonations of Oswald in the Fall of 1963. Is there enough evidence to conclude that Lee Harvey Oswald was being impersonated? And if there is, what are the implications?Twitter - https://twitter.com/solvingjfk Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/solvingjfk Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/solvingjfkpodcast Tik Tok - https://www.tiktok.com/@solvingjfk Transcripts and Sources - https://www.solvingjfkpodcast.com
In this episode, we first look at a mysterious package sent to Oswald at the Paine home. Then, we turn to the actions of Ruth and Michael Paine after the assassination of President Kennedy, before summarizing the evidence provided by the Paines to incriminate Lee Harvey Oswald. Was Ruth Paine a misunderstood good Samaritan, or was she a key participant in the cover up of the crime of the 21st century?Note: This episode erroneously states that Mary Bancroft was a CIA agent. That is incorrect. However, she did work for the CIA's predecessor, the Office of Strategic Services (OSS). Last season on Solving JFK, we examined some of the most contentious issues in the case – weighing the arguments and evidence from both Warren Report defenders and critics – to see which is most credible on each individual point. In doing that, we learned that, while many evidentiary questions are a close call, Oswald was not likely the lone assassin of President Kennedy. But, we did not determine whether Oswald was involved in the assassination in some other way. We didn't look at Oswald's motives or his back story. To fully understand Oswald's role in the assassination, if he had one, and what motivated him, we need to zoom in on Oswald's life and what he was like as a person. That's why this season on Solving JFK, we'll try to answer the question “Who Was Lee Harvey Oswald, Really?” by looking at Oswald's history and the cast of characters he was involved with, from George DeMohrenschildt and Ruth Paine to David Ferrie and Guy Bannister. What can we learn from Oswald's time in the military or his defection to Russia? Did Oswald really travel to Mexico City? And what's up with all of the people impersonating him? We'll also get to the General Walker incident and the famous backyard photos. So, join us for Season 2 of Solving JFK. New Episodes return on November 22 everywhere podcasts are available.
