Episode 291 is the fourth episode of our mini-series on the Tippit murder. It is completely dedicated to the story of witness Acquilla Clemons. David Belin, the celebrated Warren Commission attorney called this murder the "Rosetta Stone" of the JFK assassination. It may very well be... just that! In this episode we continue with coverage at the crime scene and address a little known witness that the authorities sidestepped. She was discovered by Vincent Salandria working with Mark Lane at the time. Mrs. Clemons eventually (and reluctantly) participated in several interviews... including one with Mark Lane in his quest to produce the book (and later the film) Rush to Judgement. She is considered a key but controversial witness in that her account differs markedly from the official witnesses interviewed by the authorities. That day, she saw two men at the scene, one short and kind of chunky and one who was tall. After the shooting, one of the men motioned to the other, and then both went in different directions down 10th street. This narrative was embraced by certain researchers including John Armstrong who integrated it with his complex theory of the two Oswalds. She is corroborated by several others including witness Frank Wright and an anonymous letter written to Playboy magazine by a person who claimed that he was also there at the scene and that at least six others witnessed the same thing. Other witnesses who were part of the official record (such as Virginia Davis and Sam Guinyard) may have seen elements of what she saw. These first few episodes of the mini-series provide a deep dive into those events at the crime scene itself. There is so much more to come. In this mini-series, we examine the evidence, and delve into the bewildering array of contradictory eyewitness testimonies, from those who struggled to identify Oswald, to others like todays focus on Aquilla Clemons, who bravely reported seeing not one, but two men at the murder scene, neither resembling Oswald. And we hear of witnesses such as Mrs. Clemons that were subsequently threatened into silence or submission. We'll review the questionable ballistics evidence: bullets and shells of different manufacturers with marks that mysteriously vanished, and a chain of custody so compromised it renders the evidence highly suspect. And then, there's the enigma of Oswald's wallet, containing his ID and an alias, inexplicably found at the Tippit murder scene by Dallas police Captain Westbrook, even as the official story claims it was taken from Oswald upon his arrest at the Texas Theatre. We begin with a group of core episodes that cover the murder itself. And then we work our way backwards and forwards...finally capturing Lee Harvey Oswald at the Texas Theatre. This raises uncomfortable questions about the Dallas Police Department itself. We scrutinize the actions of officers like Captain William Westbrook and Sergeant Gerald Hill, whose movements, statements, and handling of evidence on November 22nd, 1963, appear less like routine police work, and more like a deliberate effort to frame Lee Harvey Oswald. Was this simply incompetence, or did elements within the DPD actively participate in a cover-up? And what of J.D. Tippit himself? We will cover details about his personal life: a financially burdened veteran suffering from war trauma, a man with an alleged "dark side" and connections to the right-wing underworld, including Jack Ruby. We'll track his frantic, agitated behavior and unusual movements in the hour before his death…movements which suggest he was not merely on routine patrol, but actively searching for someone, possibly Oswald, under direct orders—orders that mysteriously bypassed official police radio channels. After deploying first to Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands, Wright contracted malaria and had to spend time recovering. After that, he was part of Marine landings on many different islands in the Pacific, including Saipan, Guam, and Iwo Jima.A few weeks ago, we shared Wright's story of landing on Guam, fighting off Japanese Banzai charges, and engaging in hand-to-hand combat. They don't tolerate hypocrisy and lies from anyone; not the government, teachers, bosses, coaches, or even their own parents. So why would they accept being conned by foreign billionaires? Unfortunately, manipulated is a good word to describe our youth today. And it's happening by way of lies, revisions to our history, and lore of free stuff. But our kids aren't the only victims of this manipulation. Many adults have bought into the lies that society is constantly feeding us. And this includes highly intelligent and educated adults. If you're a college kid with an accruing mountain of student-loan debt--or a high-school kid looking at your friends' necktie deep dungeon of debt, then free college with no college debt sounds pretty appealing. But, what a lot of our kids aren't aware of, is their history--in this case, the history of socialism. I'm not sure socialism has worked very well anywhere it was tried. So, today's parents have to ask themselves a few questions: "What am I doing to educate my child about America's political history? How do I want that political history to affect my child's political and professional future?" And, "Do I really want our liberal, failing public school system; our kids' favorite entertainment personalities; their 300 social media acquaintances; and, our liberal--postmodern-thinking press to be their only source for political insight? Today we talk socialism with Dr. Frank Wright, a protégée of Dr. James Kennedy. Dr. Wright served for over a decade as the President and CEO of the National Religious Broadcasters and later President and COO of Salem Communications. In 2015 Dr. Wright returned to Dr. James Kennedy ministries where he is now President and CEO. Dr. Wright holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Florida Atlantic University and is an ordained Elder in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). James Kennedy Ministries' push toward the future. From Formation to Socialism? If you don't have a biblical framework to overlay what we see happening day by day in today's culture it all looks like chaos. But it's not chaos. It's by design. It was said of Benjamin Franklin when he came out of the constitutional convention, “What kind of government did you give us.” To which he answered, “a Republic if you can keep it.” A Republic is where the people elect representatives that represent their interest on their behalf. The fallen nature of man was not something that escaped Mr. Franklin so even he wondered at the longevity of it. I like to say we live in a Constitutional Republic. We are in a Republic where we elect representatives but the structure of government is framed by a constitution. What exactly is socialism? It is the government ownership or control of all of the means of production of society. That's land, labor, and capital. When the government owns everything or controls it then all kinds of things happen or don't happen. When young people today say they are in favor of socialism I ask, “do you realize under socialism there would and could never be Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc.” The hallmark of socialism is control. There is no free market. In application, socialist governments go so much further to include the control of speech, jobs, etc. It does not stand competition for authority. Two things that compete directly with a socialist government are the family and the church. Were the disciples living a socialist lifestyle? In Acts 5 you see that the disciples were keeping their goods in common. However, it doesn't say they kept ALL of their goods in common. They shared based on needs. They shared voluntarily. The difference is a socialist government takes the money from you. The disciples did it voluntarily. Secondly, look where they brought the money; not to the government but to the church. Parents, start with your kids on this. The reason that you know that socialism is not biblical is because it is government theft. It is a violation of the commandment “Thou shalt not still.” Secondly, socialism is the gospel of envy. Thou shalt not covet is the other commandment. One of the funniest things about socialism is you will never see socialism begin in a poor country. It happens and begins where there is a system of free enterprise that allows wealth to accumulate.
