Episode 291  is the fourth  episode of our mini-series on the Tippit murder.  It is completely dedicated to the story of witness Acquilla Clemons.  David Belin, the celebrated Warren Commission attorney called this murder the "Rosetta Stone" of the JFK assassination. It may very well be... just that! In  this  episode we continue with coverage at the crime  scene and address a little known witness that the authorities sidestepped. She was discovered by Vincent Salandria working with Mark Lane at the time. Mrs. Clemons eventually (and  reluctantly) participated in several interviews... including one with Mark Lane in his quest to produce the book (and later the film) Rush to Judgement. She is considered a key but controversial witness in that her account differs markedly from the official witnesses interviewed by the authorities. That day, she saw two men at the scene, one short and kind of chunky and one who was tall. After the shooting, one  of the men motioned to the other, and then  both went in different directions down 10th street. This narrative was embraced by certain researchers including John Armstrong who integrated it with his complex theory of the two Oswalds. She is corroborated by several others including witness Frank Wright and an anonymous letter written to Playboy magazine by a person who claimed that he was also there at the scene and that at least six others witnessed the same thing.   Larry Crafard - The Leads the Warren Commission Lost Part 1 & 2 at Kennedys & King Larry sparked John's interest as it seems he was sort of pushed out of the Warren Commission. Crafard testified before the Warren Commission over the course of three days. Leads were not followed up on. People feel Crafard has some similarities with Oswald. Was he an Oswald imposter? Crafard was tracked down to his sister's in Michigan after JFK and Lee were murdered. Robert Kermit Patterson went to Naval Intelligence in Dallas He reported that he'd seen Oswald in his club but it was Crafard. Waitress Mary Lawrence said she saw Ruby and Crafard together at the B&B Cafe the morning of the assassination. Gloria Fillman confirmed that she went to the B&B Restaurant with Crafard and Ruby. Washburn sat down and plotted out Crafard's timeline after Crafard left Dallas. Earl Ruby described getting a telephone call telling him that Oswald had been shot. When the FBI visited the Carousel Club, Andy Armstrong supplied the FBI with Crafard's mail and notebook. John felt that the FBI was very efficient in trying to find information on Crafard. They did not want to probe Ruby. The American public had to be convinced that the government, police and Warren Commission had things under control. The aim of the Warren Commission was to determine that Oswald was the lone shooter. Crafard's FBI testimony on Thanksgiving Day to the FBI was pretty thorough. Crafard's alibi for 11/22/63 is questionable. Crafard stated in 1st interview that Armstrong had woken him up at the Carousel Club. Incredibly, Crafard undermines his testimony from 1st statement, changed times he had interacted with Armstrong. Armstrong didn't give Crafard an alibi until January of 1964. This alibi didn't match Crafard's testimony. Was Crafard on a bus, headed out of Dealey Plaza, in order to confuse people? Ruby was at the Dallas Morning News at the time of JFK's assassination. Ruby could see Dealey Plaza from the office window. Detective Jim Leavelle arrived at the Tippit murder scene approximately about 1:30 PM. Did Leavelle deal with the 2nd wallet? After Dan Rather saw the Zapruder film, he tried to mislead the public, lying and stating Jack's head shot forward. Was Mary Bledsoe on the bus with Oswald? Did Oswald and a blonde woman get off Mary's bus? Did police board the bus? Was Crafard taken off Mary Beldsoe's bus to help take care of Office Tippit? Was he at the scene when Tippit was shot? Warren Commission's Leon Hubert and Burt Griffin did not feel that Crafard was a shooter. Officer Kenneth Croy arrived on the Tippit scene at the same time as Officer Hill. Bill DeMar testified that he felt he saw Lee Harvey Oswald in the Carousel Club. Could it have been Larry Crafard that he saw? Dan Rather's testimony actually destroys the "Magic Bullet Theory". Did Ruby think there was a plot to murder John Connelly? Was he surprised when he found out JFK had been murdered instead? The Warren Commission requested a search on Crafard's social security number to see where he had been employed. A Carousel Club stripper said that Crafard had a police badge and was impersonating being a police officer. What was hanging up in Tippit's car? Was it a shirt? Was it a jacket? In the files there is more info about Oswald's 201 file, Mexico City, Helsinki, Castro etc.. When Oswald was released from the Marines it was from a "hardship discharge", using Marguerite's injuries as an excuse. Typically it takes a few months for the marines to investigate hardship claims but Lee's was approved with in just 11 days. When Lee left the Marines, it was 9 months earlier than when he was scheduled to be released. Rosaleen Quinn who dated Oswald while he was in California recalled Lee was more fluent in Russian than she was. After being discharged, Oswald was only in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for 72 hours before heading to New Orleans. Oswald leaves from New Orleans to France, using the same travel agency as the International Trade Mart. Coincidence? Why was Oswald going to Helsinki important? Was it because Helsinki processed visas within 48 hours? After travelling on a freighter to Europe, Oswald goes to Helsinki & stayed at the Hotel Torni. How did Oswald afford this? Oswald participated in a planned, fake defection program. Without government assistance, how would he afford a 4 star hotel? The Warren Commission avoided going into the intricate details of Oswald's movements and activity in Helsinki. WC investigator David Slawson was definitely curious about Oswald's trip to Helsinki. The CIA and FBI were the main sources of information for the Warren Commission. In 1963-1964, early investigators such as Mark Lane & Joachim Joesten who suspected CIA and government involvement. CIA 1971 memo - appears to have been debate in the CIA whether Kostikov was ever involved in Dept 13. Have you read the Lopez Report? Read here. If Oswald was in Mexico City, why isn't there any photographs or video of Oswald going into the different embassies? Why has the CIA never been able to produce a tape of Oswald's voice? On the Nov 22nd the CIA sent a tape of what they said was Oswald's voice to the FBI interrogating Oswald in Dallas. David Atlee Phillips put out a cover story - all of the Oswald tapes had been destroyed. The Lopez report contradicts this. Dan Hardway and Edwin Lopez wrote up bills of indictment for both Phillips and Anne Goodpasture Anne Goodpasture was Winston Scott's exec assistant. Pulse camera outside of the Cuban Embassy, activated by the door of the Cuban consulate opening & closing. Such a sensitive camera, yet no photos of Oswald? David Phillips claimed the camera was "out that day". The CIA did not want this information included in the volumes of the HSCA investigation. Was the whole Mexico City event a charade? Was the story about Kostikov the capper on the charade with Oswald? Was Oswald working with Kostikov and at the direction of the KGB? The KGB may have hired Richard Case Nagell to find out who was behind the pending plot to kill JFK. Jim recommends watching the 2014 AARC interview with Dan Hardway & Edwin 'Eddie' Lopez. Watch here. Hardway and Lopez worked out of CIA headquarters reviewing files and information until Joannides complicated matters. After Joannides got involved in hampering the investigation, files would be slow and redacted. The HSCA was shut down at the end of 1978 and decreased to a skeleton crew prior to publishing. His contributions have been priceless. The JFK movie by Oliver Stone was released in 1992, 2nd documentary Destiny Betrayed was 2021. Mr. X played by Donald Sutherland was based off the personal testimony of Col. L.Fletcher Prouty. It was beneficial to the research committee to have Oliver Stone at the first JFK hearing of the Luna Committee in Congress. They murdered JFK & got away with it, with Dulles guarding all information. Earl Warren and others never wanted to head the commission, they were ordered to by President Lyndon B. Johnson. Steve discusses the importance of the cover up with Len mentioning CE #399 and that unbelievable lie. All of the new observations fail to produce any evidence of the government’s false claims that "Oswald did it". Steve met Mark Lane in 1966 shortly after the release of Rush To Judgment. Mark introduced Steve to Jim Garrison. Jim wanted to know if Steve had any skills when Steve offered to volunteer to help Jim with his JFK investigation. Steve had read all 26 volumes of Warren Commission testimony & exhibits, with experience in photography at UCLA. Overloaded with film & photographic evidence, Garrison hired Steve as a forensic investigator in charge of this material. Steve feels the biggest discovery from this photographic & video evidence is the Zapruder film! Garrison sent Steve to the National Archives to view the unedited version of the Zapruder film. It was shockingly clear. Steve was also communicating with a liason with French Intelligence SDECE & was sent to Paris in June of 1968. French Intelligence gave Steve a copy of their near perfect copy of the Zapruder film. Film was disguised for trip to USA. Steve made copies to anyone who wanted one, he sent many films to JFK assassination researchers. JFK couldn't have been shot from the front & the back, by anyone shooting from the 6th floor of the TSBD building. Len believes this week there will be a release of the assassination of Robert Kennedy at the Ambassador Hotel. All photos related to the assassinations should be released for public scrutiny. These are MURDER investigations. What happened in Dealey Plaza was a highly conscious and intentional act to completely change the direction of history. The CIA tries to stifle thought, conversation & research into critical thinking citizens who investigate JFK's assassination. Western Cartridge Co. FBI doc. dated Dec 2/63, Subject: JFK assassination, written in response to Mr. Belmont's memo. This FBI memo is evidence of the bias investigation, wanting the ammo to be traced & put in Oswald's hands. Stalin's top man in the secret police, Beria, "you show me the man and I will find you the crime". Targeted lawfare. In the United States, you investigate the crime & see where it goes, not the other way around. Western Cartridge Co. in East Alton, Illinois manufactured 4,000,000 rounds for the USMC in 1954. Order was authorized under government contract DA-23-196-ORD-27. FBI memo states this is probably CIA connected. The interesting thing about this order is it's for ammo for weapons that the does not fit any weapon issued by the USMC. The FBI memo regarding the Mannlicher-Carcano cartridges was also shared with Division 5 & Division 6 of the FBI. The FBI is stating the ammo is 9 years old, purchased by the CIA, under the USMC cover. How did it end up in the TSDB? If this document had been released 2 weeks ago, would the media be saying that this is a "smoking gun"? View document. What if we'd not had the LBJ Tapes this whole time? Would these be considered a "smoking gun" by the media if just released? In a recording with Hoover & LBJ, LBJ asks Hoover how Connally was hit if Oswald was shooting from behind? How could Connally be shot if he was never between Jack & the TSBD building? Another "smoking gun". Hoover is basically saying Kennedy was shot from the front! Media remains silent. The media was AWARE of the lies, glossing over ALL of the "smoking guns", yet continues to make sensationalist stories. Greg doesn't have any high hopes over the release of the recent JFK files. The media has failed. The reason that we don't have all of the information should not be the government refused to release documents. Len mentions if the media reviewed the working file on George Joannides, it would be like hieroglyphics to the media. The media is failing! Over six decades ago, Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated President John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas. A few days later, Oswald himself was killed by Jack Ruby. A week later, President Lyndon B. Johnson tasked the President's Commission on the Assassination of President Kennedy (commonly known as the Warren Commission, after named after chairman, Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court Earl Warren) with investigating the assassination.Recently, we interviewed a lawyer who worked on that commission: Burt W. Griffin. Judge Griffin was assistant legal counsel to the Warren Commission. He was especially tasked with investigating issues related to Ruby. John found a DPD radio recording from November 22, 1963 on Youtube. Listen Here Recorded 11/22/63 communication was omitted from the Dallas Police Department transcripts. Tippit's last call in was said to be at Lancaster & 8th, but Tippit actually said Lansing St. & 8th. There is in fact a Lansing St. just 2 blocks away from Lancaster & 8th in Dallas. 10 minutes prior, Officer J.L. Angell had reported he was "still at Lansing & 8th" Coincidence? Realizing that Angell's call was deliberately not reported, John was inspired to research further. Sgt. Bud Owens was supposed to be Tippit's supervisor that day but Sgt. Hugh Davis took over. Owens leaves out important facts & timeline of events in his Warren Commission testimony. Was there a covert change of guard with the Dallas Police from Owens to Davis on 11/22/63? How did the many different DPD officers get to the scene of the Tippit shooting? Why were there so many misplaced Dallas Police Department officers on 11/22/63? Warren Commission's inventory of police officers is not accurate. Many discrepancies. Officer Parker was supposed to be manning road blocks in Garland, but on a Oak Cliff viaduct? Officer Lewis was supposed to be at Love Field area but he was at another one of the viaducts. The WC states Officer Ronald Nelson was in Dealey Plaza at 12:30 but he too was at a viaduct. Post assassination story involved Tippit being at Gloco, readjusting the time of his visit. Why? Tippit was described by as arriving at Glaco shortly after the shots were fired in Dealey Plaza. John does not believe "Badgeman" was a Dallas Police officer or that you can properly ID him. Office Harry Olsen, who knew Ruby, was also documented to be located at Lansing & 8th. John doesn't believe any members of the Dallas Police Department were firing at JFK. Members of the Dallas police would have helped the shooters safely escape Dealey Plaza. John is curious if Tippit turned after JFK shot, forcing the conspirators to eliminate him? Why were so many of the DPD were in the area, before the assassination had happened? Officer Gerry Hill leaves City Hall about the time Oswald is declared a person of interest. Photos show Officer Gerry Hill arriving at the TSBD in car #207 about 12:50 PM. Earline Roberts, Oswald's landlord, testified DPD car #207 pulled up outside her home. Officer Gerry Hill does not have an alibi for after 1 PM. How could Oswald get from his rooming house to the Tippit murder scene so quickly? Did DPD car #207 drive Oswald to the Tippit murder scene? Did the Rambler in Dealey Plaza? Westbrook arrived after Tippit was shot, yet somehow Westbrook arrives at the scene twice? Capt. W. R. Westbrook's claims can be refuted by other officer's testimonies or by reporters. Car #207 was given great interest due to boarding house landlord Earline Robert's testimony. Len applauds John on his fantastic detective work. Things are constantly making more sense. How many coincidences can you have? Timelines not lining up? False testimonies? So many lies!
