What if maintaining your spiritual connection could transform every journey into a divine experience? Join us as we unravel the profound spiritual journey of Yaakov in Parsha Vayeitzei, exploring the significance of consistent faith and righteousness. We'll recount the extraordinary story of Yaakov's marriages to Rachel and Leah, shedding light on how their conversion altered their familial ties, making this unique union possible. Rachel's incredible compassion and selflessness are highlighted as she secretly aids Leah, offering lessons of faith, redemption, and the embrace of converts. These narratives invite reflection on how divine presence can be carried within us, regardless of life's travels. In a world where giving is both a duty and a virtue, finding the balance between generosity and responsibility becomes crucial. Drawing from the teachings of the Talmud, we explore the wisdom of charitable giving—where giving 10% as maaser is an obligation, while 20% can lead to great wealth, yet exceeding 30% might be reckless. We discuss the importance of balance in virtues and even jealousy, helping lead a more meaningful and virtuous life. _____________This episode (Ep 7.7) of the Parsha Review Podcast by Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe on Parshas Vayeitzei is dedicated in Honor of Ed Hoffman & in honor of our Holy Soldiers in the Battlefield and our Torah Scholars in the Study Halls who are fighting for the safety of our nation!Download & Print the Parsha Review Notes:https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ncaRyoH5iJmGGoMZs9y82Hz2ofViVouv?usp=sharingRecorded at TORCH Meyerland in the Levin Family Studios to a live audience on December 3, 2024, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on December 3, 2024_____________DONATE to TORCH: Please consider supporting the podcasts by making a donation to help fund our Jewish outreach and educational efforts at https://www.torchweb.org/support.php. Ep 411 - Smart Mission: How NASA solves problems Guest: Ed Hoffman   “The COVID-19 global pandemic demonstrates the need for international collaboration to tackle the world's most pressing challenges,” states a new book on project and program management called “The Smart Mission, NASA's Lessons for Managing Knowledge, People and Projects.” Over 37 days, a NASA team of aerospace engineers at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory with no knowledge of medical devices built a working ventilator from off-the-shelf parts. This illustrates how effectively teams learn and share knowledge in real-time contexts.   One of the book's authors is Ed Hoffman, who was the Chief Knowledge Officer at NASA, who says,  “Never has there been more urgency. The social dimension of knowledge and the need for people to collaborate remains constant as projects become increasingly complex and pose technical challenges that we cannot anticipate.”   Hoffman continues saying, “Complex challenges require complex teams in multiple disciplines over multiple jurisdictions and cultures coming together to find solutions – solutions that are possible to achieve if and when knowledge over information is at the core of the team's approach.”   We  invited Ed Hoffman to join us for a Conversation That Matters on how and why NASA is able to accomplish the impossible and how that insight can help you and your team conquer the seemingly impossible. Firing off the back of the debut Data Transmission release from Archie B comes West Coast producer Ed Hoffman with a two track EP titled 'Good Time' on 29th June. Ed Hoffman has been playing music since he was 10, but found his passion with dance music while in college. Ed traveled the globe for many years after going to countless festivals & clubs leading him to his broad style of house & techno he creates today. He is always smiling and embracing all things weird. Ed brings this energy into every mix, set, and song that he writes. When he's not writing music, you can find him biking or making sure his disco birds get fed. On the two tracks EP comes 'Good Time' where he teams up with KOOP and the low slung club melter 'Sunday Morning Acid', he chats about both tracks. Good Time - Towards the end of 2020, I had decided to move from California to Pennsylvania, to get a change of scenery and move in with Koop. We were stuck inside most of the time during the first winter of the pandemic with not much else to do besides create music. We were inspired to put together a fun summertime track, for a time when we could start celebrating with all of our friends and family again. Sunday Morning Acid - The original idea of the track came together in early 2021, on a cold winter morning. I was up early, dreaming of warmer weather and playing with my Roland tb-3, when the track's base started to come together. The inspiration for the track came from some of the incredible '90s acid & breakbeat house tracks, and it's felt throughout the song. Ed Hoffman & KOOP 'Good Time/Sunday Morning Acid' comes out on Data Transmission on 29th June.

Evidence that is complex, incomplete and sometimes conflicting. Even as early as 1964, rumors and serious concerns over  the lone gunman theory and the evidence that might contravene it,  were becoming a major concern for the government and the commission. Conspiracy theories were contrary to the government's stated narrative from the very beginning. Stay tuned as there are many more episodes to come! This series comprehensively explores the major facts,  themes, and  events leading up to the assassination in Dealey Plaza and the equally gripping stories surrounding the subsequent investigation. We  review  key elements of the Warren Commission Report , and the role of the CIA and FBI. We explore the  possible involvement of the Mafia in the murder and the review of that topic by the government's House Select Committee on Assassinations in the 1970's. We explore the Jim Garrison investigation and the work of other key figures such as Mark Lane and others. Learn more about Lee Harvey Oswald the suspected killer and Jack Ruby the distraught Dallas night club owner with underworld ties and the man that killed Oswald as a national TV audience was watching.  Stay with us as we take you through the facts and theories in bite sized discussions that are designed to educate, and inform as well as entertain the audience. This  real life story is more fascinating than fiction. No matter whether you are a serious researcher or a casual student, you will enjoy the fact filled narrative and story as  we relive one of the most shocking moments in American History. Barry O’Reilly opens Season 2 of the UnLearn Podcast by commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing. He welcomes special guest Dr. Ed Hoffman, NASA’s first ever Chief Knowledge Officer. Ed is a Senior Lecturer at Columbia University School or Professional Studies, and serves as Strategic Advisor for the Project Management Institutue. In these roles he works with industry leaders to develop capabilities in leadership, projects, teaming, and future of work dynamics. He is a sought-after consultant and speaker, and the co-author of Shared Voyage: Learning and Unlearning from Remarkable Projects.  Knowing Why Knowing what you’re doing is important, but it’s also critical to know why. Ed has always believed that NASA’s work contributes to the good of humankind. His thoughtful response to the interesting test Deputy Administrator Dr. Hans Mark put him through during his internship, proved that he knew why he was there. Barry comments that we can achieve amazing outcomes when we are connected to mission, when we know why we’re doing what we’re doing. It Starts With The People The best organizations have thoughtful, effective leaders; they build teams who are themselves leaders; and they share a common mission. Ed says that when you work with people that you respect and care about, when you have a sense of purpose, and you feel that your skills are being utilized, then work feels like a special place. Barry asks how leaders can build such high-performance teams. Ed responds that the best leaders create - and are part of! - the best teams. “It starts with the people aspect,” he says. A sense of pride, appreciation and gratitude, and commitment to the dream are components of the best teams. Only then should the management part come in, Ed says. A Lack of Communication Leads to Tragedy Ed relates how a lack of communication and collaboration at NASA led to the 2003 Columbia tragedy. When you’ve had a period of success, it’s common to feel pressure to produce faster results. Communication between teams often suffers and that’s when danger happens, Ed says. The Discovery mission six years later was successful because of the high level of communication and collaboration. The psychological safety to talk about anything is the most important ingredient in teamwork, Ed insists. Barry adds that information-sharing is crucial because making good decisions depends on having high quality information. A Process of Unlearning  Putting yourself in an uncomfortable environment, where you have to actively learn, synthesize information and present it back for feedback, is a form of iterating, and a powerful mechanism for personal and team growth, Barry says. Ed had to go through this process of unlearning when he assumed the leadership of NASA’s Program Project Management Initiative. What he had in his favor, he says, was that he knew what he didn’t know. He has learned that knowledge is profoundly social: the answers are out there in the community, so the best teams learn from each other. Ed says that he is in awe of his technical and engineering colleagues because they’re doing work that he can’t understand. Enjoying the people you work with, appreciating them and the work you do together helps the whole team grow. Be in tap with what you enjoy, Ed advises. “It’s not work when you love something,” he says. A meaningful interaction with a mentor was another powerful unlearning moment for Ed. Thanks to his mentor, his approach to finding solutions now involves setting up boundaries to know whether something is working, as well as the tools to recover. All of this has to do with an emphasis and commitment to building reflective leadership skills for learning and unlearning. Resources Dr. Ed Hoffman

Author and researcher Brian Edwards joins S.T. Patrick to discuss Dealey Plaza as the site of a tactical operation, and then the witness testimony of Ed Hoffman. Edwards is singularly unique in discussing both topics. He was a former law enforcement officer and trainer, and he has over ten years of counter assault experience. When he looks at Dealey Plaza, he looks at it as more of a tactical operations site than a historical landmark. On this episode, he discusses Dealey Plaza as such a site. How would the perfect operation in Dealey be performed? What are the risks? How can the risks be overcome? How many personnel would be required? Where would the personnel be located? Edwards was also the co-author, with Casey Quinlan, of the book Beyond the Fence Line: The Eyewitness Account of Ed Hoffman and the Murder of President Kennedy. Brian Edwards is the co-founder of Project JFK. Get our archives for FREE at www.MidnightWriterNews.com
