True virtue becomes visible only when the desire to walk faithfully before God outweighs the instinct to manage appearances for others. Ray, E.Z., Mark, and Oscar examine how virtue signaling has become a modern way of seeking approval, noting that the human urge to belong often pressures believers to display moral outrage or spiritual discipline without genuine conviction. The guys explain that people have always looked for safety in groups, and that this instinct can quietly influence the heart, even in Christian settings.The guys discuss how social media amplifies this struggle by rewarding the performance of virtue. They point out how easy it is to post a Bible verse, a devotional highlight, or a polished quote without allowing those truths to shape character. Christian leaders carry an added weight because their online presence serves as a form of shepherding, and the guys worry that many settle for shallow guidance rather than deep spiritual engagement. Mark recalls receiving a negative review simply for quoting someone unpopular, and the guys use that example to show how expectations can override thoughtful reflection.The guys turn to resisting the lure of appearances and returning to the steady work of communion with God. They remind listeners that the true mark of a Christian is a heart focused on God's approval rather than human applause. For example, China bans children from Christmas church celebrations. In Iran, Muslim converts to Christianity who attend unregistered house churches face arrest at this time of year. Christmas worship and displays are banned in North Korea. And Somalia completely bans Christmas observances. International Christian Concern noted, “For those of us blessed with the freedom to celebrate Christmas publicly, let us also remember and lift up our brothers and sisters in Christ who cling to him, regardless of the cost.” 1 Corinthians 12:26-27 says, “If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.” U.S. to Support Faith-Based Health Care Providers in Nigeria The United States agreed to support faith-based health care providers in Nigeria on Saturday. The U.S. committed over two billion dollars to the five-year bilateral health agreement. Two hundred million dollars of the funding will go to 900 Christian health care facilities. Christian clinics represent about 10% of providers in Nigeria, but they serve nearly a third of the country.  Nigeria is one of the most dangerous places in the world for Christians with tens of thousands of believers being killed there in the last decade.  LA Governor to Lead Envoy to Greenland President Donald Trump named Louisiana Republican Governor Jeff Landry as the United States Special Envoy to Greenland on Sunday.  The president expressed interest in buying the territory from Denmark during his first term. Listen to his recent comments. TRUMP: “We need Greenland for national security. And if you take a look at Greenland, you look up and down the coast, you have Russian and Chinese ships all over the place. We need it for national security. We have to have it. And he wanted to lead the charge, so we're making him [inaudible] a special envoy to Greenland. Greenland's a big deal.” The leaders of Greenland and Denmark continue to reject efforts to make the territory part of the U.S. Rand Paul Releases Report on Government Waste Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky released his annual “Festivus Report” on government waste. The report shows $1.6 trillion in waste up from one trillion dollars last year. Dr. Paul identified most of the waste with the $1.2 trillion spent on interest payments for the U.S. debt.  Highlights from the remaining $400 billion in waste included funneling money to social media influencers, drug experiments, and diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. Abortion Mills Decline for 4th Year in a Row Operation Rescue reports the number of abortion mills declined for the fourth year in a row. There were 657 abortion mills in operation this year, down from 718 in 2021. Meanwhile, the number pro-life pregnancy centers is growing. Heartbeat International is the largest network of pregnancy help organizations. The network reached 4,000 locations globally last month. Gallup Releases New Survey on How Americans Celebrate Christmas Gallup released a new survey on how Americans celebrate Christmas. Most U.S. adults still celebrate the day, but fewer do so religiously. The majority of people who celebrate Christmas participate in activities like exchanging gifts, gathering with family and friends, and decorating their homes. However, only half of Americans display religious decorations or attend religious services for Christmas. That's down from two thirds of the population in 2010. Anniversary of Baptism of 1000s of Brits And finally, today is the anniversary of when thousands of people in Britain received baptism. Augustine of Canterbury was a Christian monk who arrived in Britain in the year 597 A.D. He is known as the “Apostle to the English.” Augustine preached to the local ruler, King Æthelberht who led the Kingdom of Kent. The king converted to Christianity from Anglo-Saxon paganism. He allowed Augustine and his missionaries to evangelize the people.  On Christmas Day in 597, Augustine reportedly baptized thousands of people who turned from paganism to Christ. John 3:16-17 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Thanks!Revelation 15 John sees another great and marvelous sign in heaven: seven angels with the seven last plagues, which complete God's wrath. Standing beside a sea of glass mixed with fire are those who were victorious over the beast and its image. They hold harps given by God and sing the song of Moses and the Lamb, praising God's mighty works and justice. All nations will come to worship Him, for His righteous acts have been revealed. After this, the sanctuary in heaven is opened, and the seven angels come out dressed in pure, shining linen. One of the four living creatures gives them seven golden bowls filled with God's wrath. The sanctuary is filled with smoke from God's glory and power, and no one can enter until the plagues are finished.  This worshipful chapter demonstrates that God's judgment is not random or cruel, but rather holy, complete, and characterized by justice and righteousness. Those who overcome the beast stand victorious, worshiping God with songs of praise. Their faithfulness reminds us that suffering is not the end, and that victory belongs to those who remain faithful to the Lord. The song of Moses and the Lamb celebrates God's power, His works, and His justice. We are called to worship Him with the same awe and devotion. Even when the world rejects His truth, we are to stand firm. God is preparing to complete His plan, and we must live in reverence, trusting His timing and walking in purity, hope, and faithfulness.  Worthy Lord, You are great and marvelous in all Your works; all Your ways are just and true. As Moses sang, You are our strength, our song, and our salvation. Who among the nations will not fear You and glorify Your name? All Your judgments are righteous, and all creation will worship before You. Help us stand firm like those who overcame, singing with joy and trust in Your power. Fill our hearts with awe at Your holiness and prepare us to live in purity. May our lives reflect Your glory as we wait for the completion of Your perfect plan.  Thought Questions: How does it bring you comfort to know that the faithful who have died are in a place of pure joy, singing songs of praise to God? What is the original context of the Song of Moses? How is a faithful life in Christ like the Israelites crossing the parted Red Sea in Exodus? Revelation often mentions “the wrath of God.” Who has that wrath always been poured out on, and how far will you go to avoid that fate?

Many historians believe that the first-ever radio broadcast of music and speech was heard by radio operators on US Navy and other ships in the Atlantic on Christmas Eve, 1906. Instead of the usual beeps and pulses to transmit codes, they listened to Reginald Fessenden play a violin solo of the Christmas carol, “O, Holy Night.” Fessenden closed his broadcast by echoing the angels’ praise: “Glory to God in the highest heaven!” (Luke 2:14). The listeners must have been startled by the evocative music and statement of praise over the birth of Jesus. The first people surprised by Jesus’ birth were the shepherds who’d been keeping to their usual business of watching their sheep at night. Then an angel appeared, shining with the glory of God and giving the shepherds a fright. The angel urged them not to be afraid and declared: “I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord” (vv. 10–11). The shepherds left their sheep to investigate the angel’s words and found the baby lying in a manger, just as they had been told (vv. 16, 20). The shepherds accepted this good news of great joy. May we too rejoice and share the wonders of Jesus’ birth and life.

She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:6–7 (Gospel from Mass During the Night)A loving mother and father who experience the birth of their first child receive insight into the sacredness and beauty of this scene. Though great mystery surrounds Jesus' conception within the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary, she was truly His mother, and He was truly her Son. Saint Joseph, knowing he was not this Child's biological father, made a profound act of faith by accepting that fatherly responsibility, as instructed in a dream by an angel of the Lord. Because of his faith and God-given mission, Joseph's commitment to being the father of the Son of God was one that only a most loving and devoted father would make. As we celebrate Christmas Day, we are reminded of the humility with which our Lord chose to enter the world. Jesus was born in a place where animals dwelt because Mary and Joseph were away from their home to register for the Roman census. At first glance, one might conclude that the physical environment, most likely a cave, was unfortunate. However, we can be certain that this humble and poor setting was part of God's divine plan, adding to the glory of that night. Christ, in His humility, chose this setting to reveal to us the true greatness of love.The poverty and humility of the cave and the manger—a feeding trough for animals—helped point to the sacredness of Jesus' birth. No glamor, no fancy or comfortable setting, only love. Pure love. The love in the heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the devotion of Saint Joseph, and the Incarnate presence of the Son of God were everything needed to make that night glorious.One lesson we can learn from the Nativity of the Lord is that the beauty, peacefulness, and contentment of our lives are not dependent upon how much money or how many material possessions we have, but rather on the purity of our love. The Holy Family's hearts were perfectly fulfilled, not because of their surroundings, but because of their intimate union with God in the person of Jesus Christ.The presence of the Son of God in that place of poverty sheds light on the true riches we crave. The true treasures we seek are found not in wealth, comfort, or possessions, but in the love and grace of God. The Holy Family's witness reveals to us that when we place our hearts in God's hands, we will be filled with all we need. Reflect today on that most sacred, simple, and humble scene. As you do, try to imagine how humanly fulfilling that experience was for the Holy Family. Jesus was wrapped tightly in swaddling clothing, and He was adored with the greatest affection of His mother and foster father. Mary and Joseph's hearts contained all that was necessary for profound gratitude and fulfillment. If you struggle with being fulfilled, learn a lesson from the Holy Family and seek to imitate Mary and Joseph so that your love for our Incarnate Lord fills you with all you need. My Incarnate Lord, Your divine nature, united to Your human nature, transformed that humble cave near Bethlehem into a tabernacle filled with the most powerful bonds of pure love. Please draw me into that sacred scene and help me to share in the love in the Immaculate Heart of Your mother, as well as the human devotion of Your foster father, Joseph. May I find contentment and total fulfillment in life by seeing You and loving You in every way that You come to me. Day 2760 – Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 103:7-18 – Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2760 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2760 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. The Title for today's Wisdom-Trek is: The Geometry of Grace – As High as the Heavens, As Far as the East. Today, we continue our ascent up the magnificent peak of Psalm One Hundred Three. We are exploring the heart of the psalm, verses seven through eighteen, in the New Living Translation. In our previous trek, we heard King David preaching a sermon to his own soul. He commanded himself to "Bless the Lord" and not to forget His benefits. We listed those benefits: He forgives all sins, heals all diseases, redeems us from the Pit, and crowns us with love and tender mercies. It was a celebration of what God does. But today, David goes deeper. He moves from God's acts to God's nature. He asks the question: Why does God do these things? What is it about His character that makes Him forgive a sinner like me? In this section, David gives us the definitive theology of the heart of God. He takes us back to the mountain of Sinai to hear God's own description of Himself. He uses the vastness of the cosmos to measure God's love. And then, he looks at us—frail, dusty, fleeting humanity—and explains why God's response to our weakness is not judgment, but fatherly compassion. So, let us stand in awe as we measure the dimensions of grace. The First Segment is: The Magna Carta of Mercy: God's Self-Revelation. Psalm One Hundred Three: verses seven through eight. He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people of Israel.  The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. David begins by grounding his praise in history. He isn't guessing what God is like; he is remembering what God said. "He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people of Israel." Specifically, David is quoting Exodus Thirty-four, verse six. This moment occurred right after the Golden Calf incident—Israel's great act of spiritual adultery. Moses asked to see God's glory, and God passed by and proclaimed His name. This declaration in verse eight—"The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love"—is the most quoted verse in the entire Old Testament. It is the Jewish Creed of Grace. Let's break down these four pillars of God's heart: Compassionate (Rachum): Related to the word for "womb." It describes a mother's visceral feeling for her helpless infant. Merciful (Chanun): Meaning gracious, generous, giving favor that is undeserved. Slow to Get Angry (Erek Apayim): Literally, "Long of Nose." In Hebrew idiom, anger was associated with a hot nose or snorting. To be "long of nose" means it takes a long time for God's nose to get hot. He has a very long...

Heaven is the ultimate end and fulfillment of the deepest human longings, the state of supreme, definitive happiness. 1025 To live in heaven is "to be with Christ." The elect live "in Christ,"600 but they retain, or rather find, their true identity, their own name.601 For life is to be with Christ; where Christ is, there is life, there is the kingdom.602 1026 By his death and Resurrection, Jesus Christ has "opened" heaven to us. The life of the blessed consists in the full and perfect possession of the fruits of the redemption accomplished by Christ. He makes partners in his heavenly glorification those who have believed in him and remained faithful to his will. Heaven is the blessed community of all who are perfectly incorporated into Christ. 1027 This mystery of blessed communion with God and all who are in Christ is beyond all understanding and description. Scripture speaks of it in images: life, light, peace, wedding feast, wine of the kingdom, the Father's house, the heavenly Jerusalem, paradise: "no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared for those who love him."603 1028 Because of his transcendence, God cannot be seen as he is, unless he himself opens up his mystery to man's immediate contemplation and gives him the capacity for it. The Church calls this contemplation of God in his heavenly glory "the beatific vision": How great will your glory and happiness be, to be allowed to see God, to be honored with sharing the joy of salvation and eternal light with Christ your Lord and God, ... to delight in the joy of immortality in the Kingdom of heaven with the righteous and God's friends.604 1029 In the glory of heaven the blessed continue joyfully to fulfill God's will in relation to other men and to all creation. Already they reign with Christ; with him "they shall reign for ever and ever."605

(Contact@eanvoiceit.com) Christians Arrested in Mass in China A large police force in China carried out mass arrests of Christians over the last two weeks. On December 13, over a thousand police officers, SWAT units, and anti-riot forces descended on Yayang Town in China's eastern province of Zhejiang. The operation led to the arrests of several hundreds of Christians. The arrests came after the local church known as “Yayang Assembly” opposed government intrusion into their practices. ChinaAid warned, “Amid tightening policies and information blockades, a campaign to purge faith communities may be unfolding in a more systematic and covert manner.” Belief in God Growing Among Finnish Youth Evangelical Focus reports a new survey found belief in God continues to grow among young people in Finland. The study evaluated young people in confirmation classes. Seventy-five percent of Finnish youth attend such classes. Sixty-seven percent of boys from this year's classes believe in the existence of God, up from 36 percent in 2019. Fifty-six percent of girls believe in God, up from 35 percent over the same time period. Jouko Porkka, Doctor of Theology, analyzed the research. He noted, “Today, boys in confirmation preparation are much more religious than girls. This has been the case for five years.” More Adults in the U.K. Attending Church this Christmas A new survey by Tearfund shows more adults in the U.K. are going to church this Christmas. The poll found 45 percent of U.K. adults plan on attending a church event this year, up from 40 percent last year. This church attendance is driven by younger generations. Gen Z is the largest generation to say they plan to attend church this Christmas. Psalm 122:1 says, “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the LORD!'” British Pro-Life Woman Charged for Praying Outside Abortion Mill Police in the U.K. charged a pro-life woman last week for praying silently outside an abortion mill. Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, Director of the March For Life UK, is the first person in Britain to face charges under the new abortion buffer zone law. A spokesman for the U.S. State Department spoke to The Telegraph about the case. The spokesman said, “The decision to prosecute a woman engaged in silent prayer is not only concerning in terms of its impact on respect for the fundamental freedoms of expression and religion or belief, but is also an unwelcome departure from the shared values that ought to underpin U.S.-U.K. relations.” Trump Administration Bans Abortions by the VA In the United States, the Trump administration banned the Department of Veterans Affairs from performing abortions last week. This reverses a Biden-era policy that allowed the VA to kill unborn babies of pregnant veterans. Josh Craddock is Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Office of Legal Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice. He wrote the memorandum opinion on the issue for the VA. He noted that existing law “unambiguously commands that VA may not provide abortions when furnishing medical care.” U.S. Economy Grows During Third Quarter The U.S. economy saw unexpected growth during the third quarter of this year. U.S. gross domestic product from July through September grew at an annual rate of 4.3 percent. That's up from 3.8 percent during the April-June quarter. It's also the fastest economic growth in two years. The growth was driven by consumer spending despite inflation remaining elevated. Record Number of Investigations, Censorships of Students in 2025 The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression reports a record number of campus incidents involving attempts to investigate, censor, or otherwise punish students for protected expression in 2025. It documented 273 efforts this year in which students and student groups were targeted for their constitutionally-protected expression. This breaks the previous record of 252 set back in 2020, the first year of the Students Under Fire database, during the unrest prompted by COVID-19 lockdowns and the murder of George Floyd. Researcher Logan Dougherty said, "These findings paint a campus culture in which student expression is increasingly policed and controversial ideas are not tolerated. College is supposed to be a place where ideas are freely shared, not where students should be concerned about whether their comments will be subject to university scrutiny.” Pew Research's Study on Americans' Childhood Religion And finally, Pew Research released a new study on Americans who leave their childhood religion. The study found 56 percent of U.S. adults still identify with their childhood religion. Thirty-five percent left their childhood religion, and 9 percent said they were never religious. Of those who left their childhood religion, 20 percent said they no longer have a religion. Ten percent said they switched religions, and three percent said they had no religion as a child, but now identify with a religion. The study found adults who were raised in highly religious households were very likely to remain in their childhood religion. Gospel Luke 1:67-79 Zechariah his father, filled with the Holy Spirit, prophesied, saying: “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; for he has come to his people and set them free. He has raised up for us a mighty Savior, born of the house of his servant David. Through his prophets he promised of old that he would save us from our enemies, from the hands of all who hate us. He promised to show mercy to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant. This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham: to set us free from the hand of our enemies, free to worship him without fear, holy and righteous in his sight all the days of our life. You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way, to give his people knowledge of salvation by the forgiveness of their sins. In the tender compassion of our God the dawn from on high shall break upon us, to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of peace.” Reflection This passage gives us a keen insight into what it means to be a prophet to prophesy. As you listen to this, you wonder, how did Zechariah know that this would be the ministry of John? John's ministry was so unusual, so radically different. But it does imply that the Holy Spirit does reveal to people things they can't fully understand yet, and yet they are assigned to all of us of a message that is coming not just from humans, but from the Holy Spirit who is working through human beings, accomplishing the task of bringing salvation to the world. Closing Prayer Father, the beauty of a ministry like John the Baptist was to break with the old and introduce the new, it never ceases to be necessary. Always we're called to renew our understanding from what we've been told to what we now know through the work of the Holy Spirit. Bless us with the capacity to change. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Luke 2:8-12 A Savior Has Been Born to You The shepherds weren’t expecting anything that night. They were just doing their jobs. They watched their flocks, kept predators away, and tried to stay warm in the darkness. Then suddenly, the night sky blazed with God’s glory, and an angel stood before them. Terror filled their hearts. Who could stand in the presence of God’s holiness? But the first words they heard were not words of judgment. They were words of comfort: “Do not be afraid.” Why not? Because God had not come to condemn. He had come to save. “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you.” Notice the angel’s message. This Savior is for you. Not just for kings or priests. Not just for the powerful or important. For shepherds, for sinners, for all people. And the sign? Not a mighty warrior or dazzling throne, but a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. God’s Son came in humility so that no one would be too lowly to approach him. On this holy night, the same message comes to you: Do not be afraid. Whatever guilt weighs on your conscience, whatever darkness troubles your heart, your Savior has been born. Rejoice! The good news of great joy is for you. The Bible contains many stories of God's miraculous provision, but few are as rich and practical as the account of the widow's oil in 2 Kings 4:1–7. Though only seven verses long, this passage offers profound insight into how God provides for His people—and how He invites them to participate in His provision.On today's Faith & Finance, Sharon Epps, president of Kingdom Advisors, joined the program to unpack this story, one she often describes as a clear picture of “God's part and our part” in stewardship.A Crisis That Drives a Cry for HelpThe story opens with a widow in dire circumstances. Her husband, a member of the company of prophets and a man who feared the Lord, has died, leaving behind unpaid debt. With no means to repay it, she risks losing her two sons to creditors.In desperation, she cries out to the prophet Elisha for help. His response begins with a question that shapes the entire story: “What do you have in your house?”Her answer is simple and heartbreaking—nothing, except a small jar of oil.God's Part: The Source of ProvisionSharon Epps notes that God's role in this story is clear. The widow had no way to create oil, multiply it, or secure buyers for it. God alone supplied what was needed.“He was the provider of the oil,” Sharon explains, “and He also provided the buyers so the debt could be paid.” The widow's increase came entirely from God, leaving no room for self-reliance or pride.This total dependence is part of the lesson. God's provision is not something we manufacture; it is something we receive.The Widow's Part: Obedience and ActionWhile God provided the miracle, the widow was not passive. Sharon emphasizes that she played an important role.She:Asked for helpFollowed Elisha's instructionsGathered empty jarsPoured the oilSold what God multiplied“She didn't just wait for oil to appear,” Sharon notes. “She participated in the process.”This balance—God's provision paired with human faithfulness—is a pattern we see throughout Scripture.Empty Jars and Expanding FaithOne of Sharon's favorite moments in the passage comes in verse three, when Elisha tells the widow to gather empty jars from her neighbors and adds, “Don't ask for just a few.”The amount of oil multiplied was directly connected to the number of jars collected. When no vessels remained, the oil stopped flowing.Sharon describes the jars as a physical expression of faith. The widow's willingness to gather more vessels created space for God's provision.Stewardship Principles We Can Apply TodaySharon notes that God doesn't work the same miracle in every life, but the same God is always at work. From this story, she highlights several principles that still apply:1. God Is the Provider. Even our ability to work and earn comes from Him. We are always more dependent on God than we realize.2. Faithfulness Is Our Responsibility. God calls us to be faithful with what He places in front of us today—even when it feels ordinary, frustrating, or uncertain.3. Seek Wise Counsel. The widow didn't isolate herself. She sought help from the prophet, reminding us that God often provides guidance through others.4. Involve Your Family. The widow's sons helped fill the jars. Including family in financial challenges can strengthen faith and allow everyone to witness God's provision.5. Don't Bet on the Future. The widow's hardship began with unresolved debt. Sharon encourages thoughtful financial planning that considers how decisions today could affect loved ones tomorrow.Are You the Widow—or the Neighbor With Jars?Sharon also challenges listeners to view the story from a different perspective. Sometimes we are not the ones in need—we are the neighbors with empty jars.God may have already placed resources in our hands—assets, opportunities, or skills—that He wants to use to meet someone else's need.In just seven verses, the story of the widow's oil paints a powerful picture of stewardship: God provides; we respond in obedience.
