From the moment I discovered it, I was instantly hooked and couldn't get enough of Emily and Mel's dynamic and engaging content. This podcast has quickly become a staple in my life, providing me with endless entertainment, education, and inspiration.
One of the best aspects of The Lounge is the perfect balance that Emily and Mel strike between being informative and entertaining. Unlike many other podcasts in the skincare and beauty industry which can be dry and to the point, The Lounge brings a refreshing combination of education and humor. Emily and Mel have an incredible ability to convey complex skincare concepts in an approachable manner while injecting their own witty banter into each episode. Whether I'm starting my day or winding down on my commute home from work, listening to The Lounge never fails to put a smile on my face.
Another standout feature of this podcast is the impeccable drink reviews that Emily and Mel provide. As they discuss various skincare treatments and topics, they never fail to include their thoughts on different beverages they're enjoying during each episode. It is vital to the success of your business to know and monitor the backend numbers in your business. In this episode, we review 3 important numbers to be calculating/focusing on to make sure you are bringing in the profit you deserve. Owning or Renting a Space: Your mortgage or rent per month should be 12% of your total revenue. (monthly revenue) x .12= (monthly rent) Supply Cost: Your budget on back bar supplies should be no more than 15%. (Cost for back bar supplies) / (Total monthly revenue) = % supply cost Calculate Target Profit: Unseen costs can contribute to service providers only getting a 25-35% profit. Today we are talking all about the HALT method. The HALT method is an acronym that you can use to keep from heading into what is known as the emotional danger zone. HALT stands for hunger, anger, lonely, tired, and can occasionally have an O in there, which stands for overwhelmed. When we are feeling emotionally off balance, it's important to stop and consider what steps we need to take to regulate our emotions. Here are a few simple steps you can follow: Step 1: Awareness - be in tune with yourself and how you are feeling. Step 2: Scan yourself in the HALT method - What are you missing that might make you feel off? Step 3: Figure out your needs - What do you need to adjust to have your needs met?
