Welcome to The Storm Report Podcast, part of The Storm Report Radio Network! In this episode, Tommy Castor has the details of the severe weather threat across western Kansas and west central Texas for Thursday, May 21, 2020. From the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, there is a slight risk for severe weather in western and southwestern Kansas. There is the chance for tornadoes, especially early on in the event (mid to late afternoon) if discrete storms can form. There is also a large and damaging hail threat. As the storms become more linear and widespread in nature, it turns into more of a damaging wind threat for Kansas later in the evening. There is also a slight risk of severe weather today for west central Texas that have already seen a lot of severe weather in recent weeks. This looks to be a wind and hail threat for Texas today. Cities in the severe threat area include Garden City, Dodge City and Liberal, Kansas, plus Abilene and San Angelo, Texas. *Please note that this information is valid as of 11 am on Thursday, May 21 and conditions may change.
