As a work of art, the creation, symbolises MSC Foundation's dedication to protecting and promoting the natural environment of which we are a part and upon which we depend: our Blue Planet. The sculpture was designed by Monica Guggisberg and Philip Baldwin for MSC Seashore and is located in the MSC Foundation Centre, rising from deck 5 to deck 8, surrounded by a mirror wall that proliferates the light and colours emanating from it, lit by a spotlight located in its base. The design uses the magical, fluid medium of glass to express the fluidity of the seas and everything in them, animal, vegetable and mineral, coral, fish, seaweed and oxygen. The immense depth and expanse of the sea, covering 71% of our world's surface, is contained in the imagery of the sculpture, in its great height and the density of its contents, as if it were the sea itself in a soaring prism of charged and moving constituents. Partly an image of Earth's lungs, partly an image of Earth's nutrition and partly an image of simple beauty, it symbolises the sea's indispensable role in our and our planet's wellbeing. We are dependent upon it. It is not dependent upon us.Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines' new flagship Bolette makes inaugural sailing from SouthamptonFred. Kylie a Certified Health Coach, Emotional Expert, Co-Founder of Zura Health, Podcast Host, Speaker and Writer. This is Kylie's second time on the show and we dive in real deep, real fast. We talk about our thoughts on the nature of feminine power, the importance of community and interdependence, and what an embodied & intentional path to self-trust and intuition looks like. We also discuss why you can't actually consent to anything if you don't know and trust yourself, the anger and grief-laden process of recognizing you've confused abuse with love, and why we both feel that if there's going to be a revolution, it will be one grounded in self-knowing and regulation. Astrophiz 48: Dr Jacinta Delhaize 'Star-forming frenzy' In this fabulous extended 60min episode we feature Dr Jacinta Delhaize who is a Postdoctoral Researcher at University of Zagreb, Faculty of Science in Croatia. Jacinta has devolved a ‘stacking technique’ to combine data to overcome the problem of detecting weak hydrogen signals from distant galaxies. She has been using data from the Parkes Dish and the Hershel instrument to helps us understand the role of hydrogen in the evolution of galaxies. After recently moving from ICRAR in Western Australia to Croatia, her research is now looking at how black holes at the centres of galaxies can effect star formation, and is now using data from the Jansky VLA to continue this collaborative research. For observers and astrophotographers, Dr Ian ‘Astroblog’ Musgrave tell us what to look for in our morning and evening skies over the next days and weeks, and how to best observe the imminent Geminid Meteor Shower. In ‘ian’s tangent’ he tells us about Australia’s early eminence in Space with the 50th Anniversary of the launch of our first satellite, WRESAT Jacinta has an excellent youtube vid and you can see her describe her research on the infrared-radio correlation of galaxies at tinyurl.com/jdelhaize Her website is at www.jacintadelhaize.com and she also has a public twitter and instagram account. Both are @jdelhaize In the news: Teams of Radio astronomers and optical astronomers both research the Magellanic Clouds in the Southern hemisphere, and both teams come up with exciting discoveries.
