Ever feel like your home projects are just mocking you from the corner of the room? Well, Eric G is here to shove that feeling right out the door with some solid advice on how to kick those projects into high gear. This week, he dives into the chaotic realm of home improvement, sharing his own struggles (because yes, even the pros have their moments of doubt). He emphasizes the importance of mindset—after all, trying to finish a project while feeling like a chicken with its head cut off isn't going to cut it. Eric suggests jotting down your top three tasks each day, which is basically his secret sauce for avoiding a total meltdown amid the chaos of home renovations. Spoiler alert: It actually works, and you might just find yourself high-fiving your to-do list by the end of the week. And speaking of high-fives, this weekend is packed with killer sales on tools! Eric spills the beans on some of the best deals cropping up for Labor Day weekend, including discounts on everything from Milwaukee blowers to Werner ladders. It's like Christmas, but for DIY enthusiasts—because who doesn't want to save a buck while upgrading their toolbox? So, get your wallets ready, and maybe consider how much you really need that new power tool (hint: you need it). And while you're at it, keep an eye out for product recalls. Eric gives the lowdown on some of the latest safety issues, including some serious burn hazards from boilers and power banks. Nothing like a little reminder that safety first, right? Overall, this episode is a wild ride through the ups and downs of home renovations, filled with sarcasm, practical tips, and a reminder that even the best of us can trip over our own toolboxes. So grab your coffee, put on your best work boots, and let's get to it!Takeaways: Crushing that big project? Just focus on three tasks daily to avoid total chaos. Labor Day weekend means epic sales! Take advantage of those tool discounts, folks! Product recalls are real—check your home for hazardous items like faulty ladders and boilers. Getting your project done feels great! This week's headlines feel like they were written by a very confused comedy writer — so naturally, we're here to make sense of them.President Trump is back in the spotlight, threatening to send the National Guard into Chicago while floating a rebrand of the Pentagon as the “Department of War.” Meanwhile, ICE is assuring D.C. families there won't be raids on the first day of school (what a relief, right?), and economists warn that tariffs could tack $2,400 a year onto the average grocery bill. If democracy doesn't bankrupt you, Kraft cheese might. It's not just politics making things weird — nature is in on the chaos, too. Milwaukee was swamped by a “1,000-year flood,” turning the city into an accidental waterpark, while a flesh-eating parasite resurfaced in Maryland, reminding us that climate change doesn't just melt glaciers — it melts skin.On the cultural side, WWE RAW is hyping Clash in Paris, the US Open launched with a record $90M purse, and the ever-expanding Yellowstone universe announced yet another spinoff — while the legendary Barbara Eden showed us that at 94, she's still magic in her genie pose. And in the land of the absurd? Buckle up. WNBA games were interrupted by fans throwing green dildos onto the court as part of a crypto stunt (because of course they were). A crypto millionaire was kidnapped for Bitcoin ransom. An Aussie couple hit the lottery and walked away instant millionaires. Comedian Eddie Pepitone is back on tour, raging beautifully about modern life. And yes… adult pacifiers are now trending as a form of stress relief. Grown people, binkies in mouths, on TikTok. Welcome to 2025.From National Guard deployments to adult-sized pacifiers, from Barbara Eden's genie magic to dildos in the paint — it's politics, parasites, and pure comedy fodder all rolled into one. Munaf Manji and Griffin Warner talk MLB betting for Friday. The MLB Friday betting preview with Munaf Manji and Griffin Warner broke down twelve games with both hosts riding an 8–2 streak on best bets. Munaf opened by stressing the urgency with roughly 35 games left, while Griffin noted, “we're getting hot at the right time of year.” Colorado at Pittsburgh led the card. Antonio Senzatela, torched in a 17–16 loss the last time he saw the Pirates, carries a 2–8 road record. Munaf called the over 8.5 the best angle. Griffin, mocking the Rockies as “one of the least competitive franchises in global sports,” leaned Pirates at home but doubted unders due to Colorado bats. Washington at Philadelphia followed with Cade Cavalli against Taijuan Walker. Cavalli threw seven shutout innings versus the Phillies previously, but Munaf warned that rematches favor the hitters. Griffin advised focusing on Phillies run lines and blowout props. The Red Sox at Yankees matchup paired Brayan Bello with Max Fried. Griffin argued the line “doesn't respect what Bello has done,” while Munaf highlighted Boston's 6–1 record in Bello's last seven against New York. Fried has allowed four or more runs in four of his last five. Both favored Boston plus money. Houston at Baltimore featured Lance McCullers in his first start since July 19 against Cade Povich. Griffin pointed to Houston's offensive slump of just eight runs in seven games. Munaf doubted McCullers' sharpness and leaned over nine, adding that Adley Rutschman is sidelined and Josh Hader likely out until October. In Detroit, Ryan Bergen faced Casey Mize. Munaf cited Mize's 3.63 ERA and 103 strikeouts, with Detroit winning his last four starts. Griffin criticized Mize's All-Star nod and praised Bobby Witt Jr. and Salvador Perez. Both leaned under early but saw Royals value. The Mets at Braves matchup showcased rookie Nolan McLean, who struck out eight but walked four in his debut. Griffin favored Atlanta as a home dog and the over 8.5, while Munaf leaned similarly, noting hot Atlanta weather would boost scoring. St. Louis at Tampa Bay featured Miles Mikolas against Adrian Houser. Griffin trusted the Rays' bullpen, while Munaf stressed Mikolas' inconsistency and backed Tampa at -128. Minnesota at Chicago pitted Zebby Matthews against Aaron Civale. Griffin quickly said, “give me the White Sox.” Munaf agreed, citing Matthews' 5.06 ERA and Chicago's 7–3 record at home on Friday nights, all as underdogs. In Texas, Slade Cecconi met Nathan Eovaldi. Griffin praised Eovaldi's Cy Young-level form, recommending under plays. Munaf backed that, noting Rangers home unders sit at 64.5 percent. Milwaukee hosting San Francisco saw Carson Whisenhunt oppose José Quintana. Griffin highlighted Bryce Turang's surge, while Munaf cited Milwaukee's 42–20 home record and San Francisco's 13–22 mark against lefties, backing Brewers run line at plus money. Cincinnati at Arizona matched Zach Littell with Ryne Nelson. Munaf praised Nelson's 5–1, 2.20 ERA home mark across 57 innings, backing the Diamondbacks and their team total. Griffin agreed Arizona held value despite a high price. The Dodgers at Padres closed the slate with Blake Snell against Yu Darvish. Griffin trusted Darvish's improvement and liked San Diego as a home underdog. Munaf leaned to the under eight, noting Snell's six scoreless innings against the Padres last week but citing Darvish's 2.55 career ERA in 16 appearances versus Los Angeles. Best bets closed the show. Griffin picked Tampa Bay over St. Louis, while Munaf selected the over in Houston and Baltimore, both looking to extend their winning streak into the weekend. Real Life  Devon has been knee-deep in yard work, prepping and installing artificial grass and fixing up fences. But the real highlight was his trip to Milwaukee for some baseball—and of course, some Alice Cooper trivia because apparently Milwaukee and Alice Cooper are forever linked thanks to Wayne's World. Ben gave us an update on Orion. He's starting to lose his appetite, which is always tough. What do you do when your dog doesn't want to eat? It's something a lot of pet owners face, and Ben's in the thick of it. On a lighter note, he's been living in a world of Clue. Playing the board game, rewatching Clue: The Movie, and even checking out Cal Poly's recent stage production where the ending changes each night depending on which solution the cast performs. (Yes, that's as fun as it sounds)—here's a behind-the-scenes look Steven has been getting some gaming in. He had a Shatterpoint rematch with Christina's husband—this time Steven lost, but it was extremely close. He also got to dive into This Is Not A Test, a post-apocalyptic skirmish game from Worlds End Publishing. Future or Now  Devon started watching Dark on Netflix. It's a time travel show, and while the subtitles/dubs can get a little weird, the slow-burn mystery is “pretty good.” Each character has a younger/older actor because of the show's 33-year cycle, and by Season 3 it's seriously complex. But the real question: is it a slow burn, or is it just a slog? Devon says it's not hard to follow, but your memory has to do some heavy lifting. Devon and Steven circled back to Alien Earth. Their verdict: just alright. Some weird editing choices, decent acting, solid effects. The first episode had promise, but the second one dragged. Jury's still out. Ben came in with a much happier update: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is back with “The Sehlat Who Ate Its Tail.” Yes, Spock had a Sehlat—a giant bear-cat pet—and the episode absolutely nailed it. Even better, Star Trek finally won another Hugo Award for the first time since The Next Generation's finale. (Lower Decks took home two Hugos!) Here's the news And because Ben can't help himself, he also reminded us that Ryan North (yes, Dinosaur Comics Ryan North) had a hand in B to the F. Book Club  This week we read “2 B R 0 2 B” by Kurt Vonnegut. It's a short satirical story set in a future where humanity has solved aging and disease—but keeps population at a strict 40 million. The catch? For every new baby, someone has to voluntarily die. Vonnegut being Vonnegut, it's absurd, bleak, and a little too close to home. You can read it free on Project Gutenberg or even watch a short film adaptation Next week we'll be reading “When It Changed” by Joanna Russ. It's the Nebula Award-winning 1972 short story about a colony called Whileaway where all the men died off 30 generations ago. When a ship of men finally arrives, they announce their intentions to “restore balance”—but the women of Whileaway have no interest in being “fixed.” It's sharp, powerful, and still incredibly relevant. You can read it here or check out this reading on YouTube.

Munaf Manji and Griffin Warner talk MLB betting for Tuesday. Munaf Manji (0:09–0:58) opens with excitement, noting most teams are 124–126 games deep and division races heating up. He promises best bets and promotions before introducing Griffin Warner. Griffin (0:59–1:13) admits they went 0–2 last episode but were 6–2 in the last eight and ready to build a new streak. Munaf (1:14–2:30) previews Brewers at Cubs, a doubleheader shifted by rain: Boyd vs Patrick, Cubs –130, Brewers +118, total 7.5. Griffin (2:31–3:03) jokes about losing his internet before asking about standings. Munaf (3:04–3:12) says Brewers lead Cubs by eight. Griffin (3:12–5:13) calls Milwaukee's 31 wins in 38 “incredible” while Cubs are under .500 since midseason and mentally damaged. Munaf (5:14–6:52) adds Brewers are 23–5 since the break, Cubs 13–15, their bats flat with Crow-Armstrong and Tucker slumping. Boyd has pitched well but Cubs have lost four straight of his starts due to no run support. He sticks with Milwaukee. Munaf (7:13–7:56) shifts to Cardinals at Marlins, McGreevy vs Cabrera, Miami –132. Griffin (7:58–9:27) says St. Louis sold at the deadline, bullpen shaky, GM retiring, so it's Marlins or nothing. Munaf (9:28–11:13) praises Cabrera's 2.86 ERA at home across 63 innings and sides Miami. Astros at Tigers (11:14–15:33) brings Hunter Brown at +149 against Skubal –165. Griffin calls that price shocking, noting Skubal has allowed three runs in three straight. Munaf confirms it's the first time Brown has been above +140, citing his 3–0 record with 2.93 ERA vs Detroit. They agree Astros ML and under seven. Blue Jays at Pirates (15:46–19:45): Griffin says Keller is untrustworthy while Scherzer has adjusted. Munaf notes Keller's struggles but Scherzer's strong three-game run and backs Jays on the run line. Mets at Nationals (19:47–22:23): Griffin leans over nine, citing poor bullpens. Munaf recalls Peterson's complete game shutout vs Washington and his 2.43 ERA against them since 2023, while Irvin has allowed 14 runs in three August starts, backing Mets. Mariners at Phillies (22:24–25:34): Griffin doubts Miller's return, Munaf stresses Sanchez's 9–1 home record, both back Philadelphia. Orioles at Red Sox (25:35–28:53): Griffin finds Buehler unreliable, Munaf says he struggles to string good starts, both lean over 9.5. White Sox at Braves (28:54–32:06): little faith in either side, White Sox bullpen dismissed. Yankees at Rays (33:11–37:46): Griffin praises Boz but doubts Yankees' management; Munaf notes Rodon's 3.25 ERA, New York's seven wins in ten, and Rays' cooling bats, siding Yankees –140. Rangers at Royals (37:48–43:38): Lugo has allowed 13 runs in two starts, Griffin leans Rangers with Kelly, Munaf agrees. Athletics at Twins (43:39–47:04): Lopez hasn't allowed an earned run in 24 innings, Ryan is 12–5 with 2.72 ERA, both lean under but wary of regression. Brewers at Cubs Game 2 (47:06–51:15): Woodruff vs Taillon, Griffin surprised Brewers favored on road but won't fade them, Munaf notes they've won every Woodruff start. Dodgers at Rockies (51:17–53:15): Sheehan vs Gomber, both expect runs at Coors, backing the over. Reds at Angels (53:16–55:49): Griffin tired of Hendricks, Munaf impressed by Greene's six shutout innings vs Phillies, siding Reds. Giants at Padres (55:51–58:50): Tang gave up six runs in his last outing, Pavetta 12–4 with a 2.7 ERA, Munaf backs Padres team total. Guardians at Diamondbacks (58:58–1:03:18): Griffin distrusts Rodriguez but sees Arizona's bats dangerous; Munaf notes E-Rod's poor 5.73 ERA at home, both lean over. Best bets (1:03:44–1:07:35): Griffin locks Astros–Tigers under seven, saying two aces and shaky offenses make it valuable. Munaf selects Yankees ML with Rodon, trusting their form and urgency. They close (1:07:35–1:09:14) with promos and optimism, determined to keep putting money in listeners' pockets as the postseason nears. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

There was so much to unpack with Wes about his incredible career in law enforcement and his accomplishments off duty that this is my first three-part interview. Thanks for sticking around until the end! Honestly, I could have talked to Wes all day. I will definitely have him back on the show in the future. Here's a quick bio of just some of Wes’s accomplishments. Wes became a Hernando County Sheriff’s Deputy in 1988. As a deputy, Wes served as a S.W.A.T. lead, having completed the FBI S.W.A.T. school in 1995. Wes was a Defensive Tactics Instructor, anti-crime and property Detective, and earned the Florida Medal of Valor in 1996 for his heroism by disregarding his own safety, running into an apartment fire, saving multiple lives, and Mittens the cat.  In 1998, he was hired by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Wes had a 23-year career with the DEA and has been stationed in Field Divisions such as: St. Louis, Miami, Chicago, D.C., Los Angeles, and internationally in cities such as Guatemala City, Guatemala, Caracas, Venezuela, Cartagena, Colombia, and Bogota, Colombia. During this time, he was representing the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in positions such as: supervisory special agent, country attaché, assistant country attaché, Deputy Section Chief, Assistant to the Global Deputy Chief of Operations, and Assistant Special Agent in Charge. Wes was paralyzed in an auto accident where a drunk driver and career criminal had been at fault. Fortunately, he recovered from his spinal cord injury (C5/6) fracture and went back to being a DEA agent. The suspect later absconded and was on the run for 23 years only to be captured in 2024.  He was given probation for 6 months by a local judge in Minnesota.  From 2012 to 2015, Wes was assigned to the Central Intelligence Agency as an Assignee to various locations in the Western Hemisphere, conducting various classified activities on behalf of the DEA while embedded with the CIA. He has worked with some of the most prestigious law enforcement and military agencies, conducting operations and training modules, with the FBI, Secret Service, Defense Intelligence Service, US Army Special Forces, and Navy Seals. As a DEA agent, rising through the ranks to Assistant Special Agent in Charge in Los Angeles, he was the division's Strike Force Commander, where he oversaw global money-laundering investigations, High Value Mexican Cartel Investigation, and led his teams in pursuit of some of the largest cases on the globe. Thanks again for sticking around for the conclusion of this amazing interview. I think we covered a lot of ground and went places that I didn’t foresee. But that’s the fun of running a podcast. Please enjoy the conclusion of my interview with Wes Tabor.  In today’s episode, we discuss: ·      What was the motivation for informants working with the DEA in Venezuela? ·      Hezbollah and Hamas in Venezuela? ·      The TDA gang that started in Venezuela and them spreading. This gang and others are spreading into the United States, and the influence they have and how they gain traction in America.  ·      What are the most dangerous gangs we should be the most aware of, and what can be done to stop them? ·      The U.S./Mexican border has been a hot button for a while now and is in the news all the time. What are his thoughts, and how easy has it been and is it for these gangs to come into our country illegally? ·      Gangs communicating and recruiting through encrypted social media. ·      International gangs using cryptocurrencies. ·      I don’t think the average American understands these gangs and what they are capable of. I think about the murder rates you had in your book in Jamaica and Central America, 2000-2017: 2.5 million murders, 2/3 of the world’s murders. Should we be worried that this will spill over into our country? ·      In Milwaukee, we had the Latin (Spanish Cobras, Latin Kings, Brown Pride, Mexican Posse, and La Familia) and Black gangs (Gangster Disciples, Black Gangster Disciples, Kia Boys, and Vice Lords). The Latin gangs were much more organized, and the OGs didn’t give up much to the cops. They were busted with RICO cases, but all that did was bring in the black gangs where there was a void. It feels like a war that never ends. What can be done to stop it? ·      His book, Infiltrate America - Blood Routes and the Rise of Latin American Gangs. Why write it? ·      How painful was it for him to write this book? From personal experience, I know this can put PTSD into overdrive, reliving some ugly stuff. ·      Post-retirement from the DEA. What does he miss the most/least from LE? All of this and more on today’s episode of the Cops and Writers podcast.   Check out Wes's newest book, Infiltrate America: Blood Routes and the Rise of Latin American Gangs Check out the new Cops and Writers YouTube channel! A series in Cincinnati features two unbelievable wins (and a wild near-miss), and that was after the team swept the Pirates and triggered the George Webb free-burger promotion. Milwaukee's 14-game winning streak is over, but the magical season lives on, with a huge week ahead. Brewers reporter Todd Rosiak joins host JR Radcliffe to discuss Uecker Magic, Andruw Monasterio's stunning homer, Jacob Misiorowski's rough return, Christian Yelich's MVP-level play and more. In Three Up Three Down (31:15), they discuss a draft pick's debut, 23 consecutive outs and ... has Craig Counsell really never seen a George Webb? In Remembrew When (47:15), JR puts a final bow on Team Streak. And in Todd's Take of the Week (52:00), it's one last look at this unbelievable season. Then, JR sits down with Brandon Lockridge (59:15), a newcomer to the Brewers who hadn't tasted defeat in his new uniform until Sunday. They discussed the familiar faces on the Brewers roster, his strongest attribute and his whirlwind trade-deadline week. Music intro from bensound.com. We cultivate Counter-Racist Media Literacy by scrutinizing journalists' word choices and using logic to deconstruct what is reported as "news." We'll use these sessions to hone our use of terms as tools to reveal truth, neutralize Racists/White people. #ANTIBLACKNESS Not even two months removed from Gus T. Renegade's daily court coverage from the Milwaukee County Court House, the Governor of Wisconsin is begging Pres. Donald Trump to declare a state of emergency in the southeast corner of the state. Regions in the north part of Milwaukee were especially hard hit, unless, Gus T. is massively confused, large concentrations of black people are warehoused in this part of town. Many reports indicate that this once in a 1,000 years flood happened in a region where many people do not have flood insurance. In the nation's capitol, President Trump ordered federal troops into Washington, D.C. with specious claims of roving gangs of punks looting and pillaging "Chocolate City." Some fear President Trumps federal invasion will be coming to other US cities soon. Gus remembers one serious point that was raised during discussions of legalizing cannabis in "The District." Marijuana remains outlawed under federal law, and Washington, D.C. has a higher number of federal troops than most other cities. Now, they're even more armed federal agents in town. #EndStageWhiteSupremacy INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: http://cash.app/$TheCOWS Call: 720.716.7300 Code: 564943#

The Reds took an early 2-0 lead in the first with home runs from Spencer Steer and Noelvi Marte off Brewers starter Quinn Priester. Milwaukee responded, tying the game in the fourth on Christian Yelich's single and Sal Frelick's sacrifice fly. The Brewers rallied in the ninth, tying it at 4-4 with William Contreras' single and Brice Turang's sacrifice fly. In the 10th, Jackson Chourio's solo homer off Joe La Sorsa gave Milwaukee a 5-4 lead. Trevor Megill secured his 30th save, despite a Reds threat. Yelich went 2-for-4, continuing his hot streak.
