In this thought-provoking episode of our series "Dumb Things Smart Christians Believe," host Bradley Hamilton dives deep into the often misquoted phrase "forgive and forget." Join us as we explore the true meaning of forgiveness through the lens of Jesus' teachings. Bradley discusses how cultural norms around retaliation and justice can cloud our understanding of forgiveness, emphasizing that it is not about ignoring past hurts or blindly trusting those who have wronged us. Instead, he encourages listeners to engage in honest conversations, set healthy boundaries, and recognize that forgiveness is a process that may not erase painful memories. Throughout the episode, we unpack key biblical passages, including Matthew 18, and highlight the revolutionary nature of Jesus' message on forgiveness. Whether you're struggling with resentment, trying to navigate difficult relationships, or seeking to understand what true forgiveness looks like, this episode offers valuable insights and practical guidance. Don't miss this opportunity to rethink forgiveness and learn how to cultivate a heart that reflects the grace and love of Christ. The Main Idea: Forgetting is neither possible nor required for forgiveness. Forgiveness is a decision, not memory loss. Trust and forgiveness are different things. Forgiveness can coexist with boundaries and wisdom. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are an alternative to church as usual. This powerful exploration challenges us to examine whether we've walked away from faith unnecessarily by rejecting distorted versions of God rather than God himself. We're invited to consider six common childhood versions of faith that many of us inherited: Safety Net God who promises bad things won't happen to good people, On-Demand God who always answers our prayers exactly as we want, Hype God whose presence depends on our emotional experiences, Guilt God who controls through fear and shame, Anti-Science God who pits faith against reason, and Gap God who only exists in what we can't explain. The message draws from Peter's instruction to always be prepared to give a reason for our hope with gentleness and respect, and Jesus's own words that in this world we will have trouble. We're reminded of John the Baptist's story, a man of extraordinary faith who still doubted in prison, showing us that even the greatest believers struggle when reality doesn't match their expectations. The central invitation is to reconsider whether the God we stopped believing in ever actually existed in the first place, and whether there's room to rediscover a more robust, intellectually honest faith that can withstand adult questions and real-world suffering. The Main Idea: The gods we abandon usually never existed to begin with. The Jesus we left was too fragile to be of much help anyway. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are an alternative to church as usual. In this thought-provoking episode, we dive deep into the complexities of faith, doubt, and the challenges many face in their spiritual journeys. The host addresses a common critique of religion: why do we have to believe rather than just know? With insights drawn from the New Testament, particularly the invitation Jesus extended to Thomas, we explore the importance of investigating faith without fear of condemnation. As we navigate the current landscape where more Americans are identifying as religiously unaffiliated, the episode highlights the rise of the "nuns" and the reasons behind this shift. The host discusses the impact of the New Atheist Movement and the unsettling conclusions that arise from atheistic beliefs, emphasizing that leaving one belief system often leads to gravitating toward another. Whether you're a long-time follower of Jesus, someone who has lost faith, or simply curious about the conversation around belief and doubt, this episode invites you to reflect on your own journey. Join us as we challenge misconceptions, explore the foundations of faith, and prepare to give an answer for the hope we have. The Main Idea: For some: Who needs religion? More Americans than ever are backing away from religion. Consequently, God. Not because atheism is all that attractive. Religion is less so. “It's the problem.” --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are an alternative to church as usual. In this episode of the Collective Leadership Podcast, Metro District Interim Superintendent Omar Niebles sits down with Reverend Brian McMillan — Lead Pastor of CenterPoint Church in Massapequa, NY, and Metro District Director of Church Planting — for a rich conversation about the future of church planting in the Metro District and beyond. Brian shares the story of planting CenterPoint in 2002 with just 25 people, no money, and nothing but faith — and what that journey taught him about reaching the unchurched. He breaks down the three biggest obstacles church planters face today (finances, launch teams, and facilities), and casts a compelling vision for what it would look like for the Metro District to move from simply planting churches to becoming a church planting district — where Kingdom expansion is woven into the DNA of every congregation. Whether you've never planted a church or you've been doing it for decades, this episode will challenge and inspire you to ask: How can my church play a part in something bigger?

We also discuss the importance of self-reflection and understanding the scripts we've been given, and how they influence our lives and relationships. As we navigate these complex topics, we emphasize the model of masculinity found in Jesus, who embodies both strength and humility. This episode sets the stage for a deeper conversation about what it means to follow Jesus and how that impacts our understanding of manhood. In this thought-provoking episode, we return to our series "The Last Kingdom" by beginning with a captivating parable about a young girl on a swim team who, unaware of the competitive nature of the sport, finds joy in meeting new friends instead of winning races. The episode emphasizes that the fight we are called to is not about winning or losing in the traditional sense but about embodying the love and values of Christ in our daily lives. Join us as we challenge conventional thinking about faith, explore the true essence of the gospel, and encourage listeners to embrace a kingdom mindset that prioritizes love, service, and Christlikeness. In this episode, we confront a common—but incomplete—view of Jesus. Many of us have embraced Him as Savior—sin forgiver, debt payer, ticket to heaven—while missing the dominant message of the New Testament: Jesus as King. The word Χριστός (Christos), translated “Christ,” wasn't originally a last name—it was a royal title meaning “Anointed One.” From the very beginning of His ministry, Jesus announced the arrival of God's reign and rule. His core message was clear: The time has come. Repent. Seek first the kingdom. We unpack repentance not as guilt-driven shame, but as a thoughtful change of mind—a shift in allegiance. In a world where people were forced to pledge loyalty to Rome, Jesus offered a better King. One who serves instead of being served. One who sacrifices instead of demanding sacrifice. At the root of our resistance to surrender is distrust—the ancient lie that God cannot be trusted with our deepest happiness. That's why Jesus teaches us to pray, “Your kingdom come, your will be done.” God's reign advances wherever His will is lived out through us. So the question becomes: Where are you resisting King Jesus? What are you holding onto? Because whatever you refuse to surrender may actually be ruling you. Jesus didn't just come to save you from something—He came to lead you into life under the good and trustworthy rule of a perfect King. Topics Covered: -The royal meaning of “Christ” -Repentance as a shift in allegiance -Jesus' upside-down model of kingship -Why trust is at the center of surrender -What it means to seek first the kingdom Read along with our chosen scripture: Mark 1:15; Matthew 6:9–10, 25, 31–33 The Main Idea: People all over the world claim to be Christian, based on a belief that Jesus is the ultimate king. But at times, we can find ourselves living in defiance of the very king we swear allegiance to. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are an alternative to church as usual. The aunt told Lee that her niece's age was fifteen, to which Lee stated, "That's cool. Fifteen's my fantasy." The decoy asked Lee if he would have sex with the girl, with Lee replying, "Yeah, I'm gonna fuck her good. I've got some good dick." He also asked if he could "eat some ass." He offered to bring marijuana to the house to give to the minor girl. Lee agreed to the proposition of having sex with the minor girl for $200. Lee arrived to the sting house and was greeted by the two decoys at the door. After they exited, Lee said to himself, "Oh, I forgot the condoms in the car." Chris then emerged to confront him. What if your power returns the moment you return to the core of your impeccable being? On this week's episode of Love University, we continue the exploration of the Hara, your psychological and energetic centerpoint of balance, intuition, and grounded strength. In Part 1, we introduced the Hara as your internal anchor. In Part 2, we go deeper into the discipline of living from that anchor. Focus is not accidental. Stability is not random. Inner authority is cultivated. When you operate from your Hara, your life gains direction and steadiness without strain. You stop chasing energy and begin conserving and directing it. Here are three ways to deepen your Hara focus and strengthen your inner command: Guard Your Attention and Direct Your Energy Hara focus begins with disciplined attention. The people you associate with often influence your emotional baseline. Calm, patient, purpose-driven individuals strengthen your center. Chronic exposure to outrage, sensationalism, and negative narratives fractures it. Your concentration is a finite resource. When it is scattered across gossip, endless scrolling, or catastrophizing, your power weakens. Every deliberate action rebuilds realignment. When you make each move purposeful, you begin to concentrate your forces. Nervous energy decreases. Your breathing steadies. You think more clearly. Over time, your presence gains power. Instead of reacting to every stimulus, you become selective about what deserves your response. Energy that once leaked into distraction gathers into strength. Create a Hara Focus Statement and Live From It Power increases when direction becomes clear. A Hara Focus Statement is a short declaration of what your life is organized around. It may center on service, creativity, leadership, faith, family, or mastery of a craft. When you define it and revisit it daily, your decisions simplify. Competing impulses lose intensity. You stop drifting. History shows us that focused individuals concentrate their energy around one guiding aim. Lincoln focused on freeing the slaves. Martin Luther King Jr. concentrated on civil rights. Florence Nightingale dedicated herself to healing with compassion. Their clarity multiplied their force. The same principle applies personally. When your mission is defined, setbacks no longer scatter you. They refine you. Each obstacle becomes part of the path rather than proof of defeat. Stand in the Centerpoint and Integrate Your Extremes The Hara is your emotional midpoint. Between arrogance and insecurity lies grounded confidence. Between aggression and passivity there is self-respect. Between despair and fantasy you find mature optimism. Living from the Centerpoint allows you to hold these opposites without being torn apart by them. Before long, you begin to see that disappointment and fulfillment are connected. High expectations create the possibility of both. Small expectations reduce risk but also limit expansion. When you stand in the middle, you stop fearing either outcome. Time loosens its grip. You no longer feel chased by the future or haunted by the past. You live in the present moment with full awareness, drawing from memory and vision without being dominated by either. When you return to the core of your impeccable being, distractions lose their pull and pressure loses its grip. What remains is steadiness, clarity, and the quiet authority of someone who knows exactly who they are. Also, make sure you pick up a copy of Invincible You on Amazon at https://tinyurl.com/3y3szh27.

Sunday, February 15, 2026 – Pastor Justin’s message today is “Fasting: Discipleship DNA.” Fasting may not be everyone’s favorite topic. Why? Because it requires something from us. We love experiencing the blessings of God — His peace, His provision, His presence. But are we positioning our hearts to receive all He wants to do in us? Fasting is not about earning God’s grace. Fasting is a response to that grace. It’s a way of quieting the noise of the world so we can hear God’s still, small voice more clearly. It’s choosing spiritual hunger over temporary comfort. The early church embraced fasting as part of their spiritual DNA — and through their obedience, God transformed communities and nations. As we enter the season of Lent, we invite you to prayerfully consider: What might God be asking you to lay down? What distraction could you fast from in order to seek Him more fully? Let’s believe together for a life-changing move of God in Charlevoix County — beginning at Center Point and reaching throughout our community. Join us as we worship, study, and commit to seeking the Lord with renewed focus.

In this thought-provoking episode, we dive deep into the essence of who Jesus is and what it means to truly embrace His identity as the King. If you've ever felt disillusioned or disconnected from the concept of faith, this episode is for you. Join us as we explore the idea that many people have been introduced to a version of Jesus that doesn't align with the original teachings of the New Testament. We discuss how the translation of key terms, like "Christ," has shaped our understanding and often reduced Jesus to mere functions rather than recognizing Him as the Anointed One and King. Throughout the episode, we emphasize the importance of understanding Jesus' primary purpose—not just as a sin forgiver or comforter, but as the one who came to reign and establish God's final kingdom. We unpack various scriptures from the Gospels that highlight this kingdom theology and challenge listeners to reconsider their beliefs and how they engage with the world around them. Whether you're a long-time follower of Jesus or someone exploring faith for the first time, this episode invites you to rethink your perspective and consider the profound implications of Jesus as King in your life today. Topics Covered: -The true identity of Jesus as King -The impact of translation on our understanding of Jesus -The significance of kingdom theology in the New Testament -How to live out the principles of Jesus' kingdom in our daily lives Read along with our chosen scripture: Matthew 1:1, 18; 6:10, 33; Mark 1:14–15; 14:61–62, 64; Luke 1:32–33; John 1:41, 49; 20:30–31; Philippians 2:10–11 The Main Idea: The term "Christ" was originally a royal title meaning "Anointed One" or “King,” not a name. And the message of the Gospel is not just about personal salvation, but about aligning with the reign of Jesus as King. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are an alternative to church as usual. Our Sunday worship service is approximately a 75-minute experience designed to introduce people to the message of Jesus and equip believers to live their lives in response to the Gospel while their kids enjoy one of our safe children's environments. Centerpoint is designed to meet you wherever you are on the journey whether you are just checking out the "church thing" or you are a committed Christ follower. Centerpoint is a casual environment that combines today's music with creative media and relevant teaching. We hope you will visit us at Centerpoint Church regardless of what your past church experience has looked like.

Join us for the first episode of our brand new series, where we dive deep into the concept of Jesus as God's final King and the establishment of His everlasting kingdom. In this thought-provoking discussion, we explore how traditional views of Jesus as merely a Savior can limit our understanding of His true role and purpose. In this episode, we unpack the historical context of Jesus' title, the significance of the term "Christ," and how it relates to the kingdom of God. We challenge listeners to reconsider their faith frameworks and encourage them to engage with the New Testament in a fresh way. Whether you grew up in a specific faith tradition or are exploring these ideas for the first time, this episode aims to shift your perspective and invite you to participate in the transformative kingdom that Jesus came to establish. Tune in as we set the stage for the next four weeks of exploration and discovery, and prepare to see the scriptures—and your faith—in a whole new light! Read along with our chosen scripture: Luke 1:30–33; John 19:12 The Main Idea: If we re-center our faith around the arrival of a King rather than a ticket to heaven, we will discover why his arrival and his kingdom is good news for all people. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are an alternative to church as usual. In this episode, we dive into the final part of our series, "Challenge Accepted." Join us as we explore the complexities of faith, the challenges we face in our lives, and the importance of making courageous decisions. We discuss how life is filled with difficult choices that can feel overwhelming, whether it's restoring relationships, overcoming addictions, or coming back to faith after being hurt. The episode emphasizes that while small, wise decisions shape our future, there are pivotal moments that require us to take extreme actions that can change the trajectory of our lives. Through the story of a paralytic man who was lowered through a roof to reach Jesus, we learn about the power of faith and the importance of trusting God in uncomfortable situations. We also reflect on the significance of humility and the willingness to act, even when it feels sacrificial or embarrassing. As we prepare for our upcoming series, "The Last Kingdom," we encourage listeners to invite others to join us and to pray for wisdom and courage in their own lives. Key Takeaways: Life's challenges are rarely linear or easy. Small decisions can lead to significant changes. The importance of faith and trust in God. How humility and action can invite God's power into our lives. The Main Idea: Sometimes changing the direction of your life takes more than a tweak. It requires an extreme decision. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are an alternative to church as usual.
