“It is possible to be a follower of Jesus without being a disciple; to be a camp-follower without being a soldier” (Barclay). But ”what is the benefit, my fellow believers, if someone claims to have faith but has no [good] works [as evidence]? Can that [kind of] faith save him? [No, a mere claim of faith is not sufficient—genuine faith produces good works]” (James 2.14). “Salvation apart from obedience is unknown in the sacred Scriptures” (A.W. Presented by Julie Busteed How do you define yourself? Is it by your family, the church you attend, or your job? What does it mean to be identified as a Christ-follower? We have looked at how we are made in God's image and how that defines us. We are also loved by God so deeply we can hardly grasp how wide and long and high and deep it is. And we are also chosen by him for his good purposes. We are also made for community—to be in community. And this community defines us. We were not created to live isolated lives. The first and best example is our Triune God—Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They are eternal and distinct, and yet they are one. Yes, not an easy concept for our minds to wrap around. But we see beginning in Genesis the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are at the creation of the world. They are in community with one another. We were not created to go it alone. A 2024 Harvard survey found 21% of adults in the U.S. feel lonely. They feel disconnected from friends and family. The data suggests it may be due to anxiety, depression and a lack of meaning and purpose.[1] Because we are made in God's image and he is One God in three persons, we are made to be not only in relationship with God but with each other. We need each other for encouragement, to love and care for one another, to be accountable to each other, to worship and praise God together. And in essence, learn about who we are—our identity. Paul also describes the body of Christ like our own body: For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others (Romans 12:4-5). We all belong to each other. When you don't show up for church or Bible study it doesn't just affect you. Your presence is missed whether you realize it or not. Showing up is huge! Let's remember each of us are a vital part of the body of Christ—it's part of who we are—for our own good and for his glory. --- [1] Batanova, M., Weissbourd, R., & McIntyre, J. (2024). (rep.). Dr. Chaps reports on Andy Werschky, who has a solution for America: Just 7 simple steps to Save America! This book is about the continuing American revolution that began when a small group of oppressed British "subjects" realized they were not only being ignorant and immoral but that they deserved the separate but equal station to which the Truth called them. This is a handbook on Recognizing The Rule of Law - The Foundation of Order Itself - and a reimagined playbook for America to become truly free... for once and for all. At the foundation of The Jubilee Solution stands an ancient idea, profoundly modern in its implications, a foundational principle ensuring that every subsequent reform and restructuring is rooted in justice, equity, and respect for individual rights. The Jubilee Solution is a book that reveals a great truth, which makes some people quite angry and others very excited because it not only calls out all the BS (belief systems) and tells Americans plainly to "stop pretending to be free," but more importantly, it reveals a very practical 7-step path that is "already mostly paved" for "we the people" to finally make good on that pledge of allegiance we made that promised we would all stand up for "one nation under God with Liberty and Justice for all." The nervousness you may be feeling about the upcoming election may be well justified. Robert Wheeler has a fascinating report about a political group that "war-gamed" the election to explore possible outcomes. Are they actually priming the pump for a transition to what they call "A new America"? Just as the time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the time to teach the principles of liberty and free markets is now. Kerry McDonald makes a solid case for teaching young people the promise of free market capitalism. With all the back and forth over the word "democracy" today, it might be a good idea to explore why America's founders didn't want to create a democracy. Gary M. Galles explores the notion that democracy and liberty are somehow complementary. The idea of a Universal Basic Income (UBI) has been making the rounds for a while. Christian Britschgi reports that San Francisco is about to start paying artists $1,000 a month to support the art community. While most folks wouldn't mind collecting a check without having to actually earn it, there are some serious problems with this. At the risk of feeding anyone's fears, the time to get squared away in case of unrest or another Covid lockdown is right this moment. Dr. Joseph Mercola has a few suggestions of what you might want to stock up on. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/loving-liberty/support

The Left is trying to change the America we know and loveWhen the Democrats say they can impeach and chew gum at the same time is something that I would have to agree too. Not only are they trying to take out the sitting president of the United States, but they are trying to destroy the very nation we know and love. If you think about it, what have the Democrats done that is positive for America? Just look at the past 11 years and what the Democrats have done in that short amount of time. When Obama came into office, he was not for same-sex marriage, but right around halfway through his eight-year term, the truth came out. The LGBTQ Community was jumping for joy that Obama in the Democrats was able to get the Supreme Court Justice to overrule the majority of the people in this country and implement same-sex marriage. As a result, we now have dragon queens and dragon kings reading to our children, and the liberal left is embracing it. You may have recognized the LGBTQ now has the +P which means they include pedophilia not that it was excluded before, they are now open with it. Most of us realize this is a leftist moment. What many don’t realize is that the conservative Christian movement has been infiltrated by Satan sending his demonic democrat demons. Some people still are not getting the fact that we are in a spiritual war, and when they do, it may be too late, and they will be a casualty of war.Support: www.infowarsstore.comWatch uncensored: www.BANNED.VIDEOSubscribestar: https://www.subscribestar.com/will-johnsonSubscribestar: https://www.subscribestar.com/god-emperor-trump

https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/presidential-academy/Session+23+Morel.mp3 Focus How did Douglass answer the question, "What Country Have I?" What was his critique of the emigrationist position? What was the basis for his greater optimism about race relations in America? Just as Douglass was the leading figure in the fight to secure the natural right to liberty for blacks in America, he was the leading figure in the post-war struggle to secure civil rights for African-Americans. Why does Douglass favor justice ("fair play") over charity ("benevolence") for black Americans? Why does Douglass counsel black Americans against "race pride"? Why does Douglass consider "the Negro problem" a misnomer for "the nation's problem" and how does this affect the kind of solutions proposed to help black Americans? What was his critique of the emigrationist position? Does he believe in black reparations? If color prejudice is the bane of black Americans, what principles and policies does Douglass propose to eliminate it from American society? This week Jonathan Blanks joins us to discuss civil liberties and police misconduct in America. This episode was recorded at the 2015 International Students for Liberty Conference and features Q&A from the audience. Is there an upward trend in incidents of police misconduct, and if so, why? Is this just a few bad apples, or something more integral to the nature of policing in America? Just how dangerous is it to be a law enforcement officer in America? Dangerous enough to justify the military hardware the police seem to enjoy using so much?Show Notes and Further Reading Jonathan Blanks, “To reduce police violence against citizens, police practices need to change” (Rare article)Jonathan Blanks, “Reasonable suspicion: Are police lying in use of force cases?” (Rare article)Jonathan Blanks, “Race Matters in Ferguson—and in Modern America” (Libertarianism.org column)Jonathan Blanks, “How Equal Rights for Black Americans Still Aren’t Enough” (Libertarianism.org column)Michael Malice, “Why I’ve Never Respected the Police” (Thought Catalog article)Radley Balko, Rise of the Warrior Cop: The Militarization of America’s Police Forces (book)Bruce Benson, To Serve and Protect: Privatization and Community in Criminal Justice (book)William Stuntz, The Collapse of American Criminal Justice (book)Gallup, Confidence in Institutions (poll) See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
