Galatians 5:1-6, 13-265 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.2 Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all.3 Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law.4 You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.5 For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope.6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. 13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. 16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other so that you are not to do whatever you want.18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery;20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.26 Let us not become conceited, provoking, and envying each other. Spiritual Summer Freedom & Faith Purpose of Freedom in Christ 1. To Fight against Flesh (v.13b)2. To Serve others (v.13c) 3. To Fulfill God's Moral Law (v.14) 4. To Avoid Harming others (v.15)

In this thought-provoking message titled "To Serve and Protect," Pastor Talaat McNeely dives deep into 1 Corinthians 12 to explore the biblical concepts of spiritual service and authority within the body of Christ.Drawing on the Apostle Paul's analogy of the church as a physical body, Pastor Talaat unpacks how every believer has an indispensable role, no matter how big or small their spiritual gift may seem. You'll be inspired by deep biblical truths and practical wisdom on:Avoiding pride, self-importance, and abuse of spiritual authorityHumbly using your gifts to build up the body in unityStanding firm in your God-given role regardless of outward pressuresServing wholeheartedly without neglecting your partGet ready to be equipped as a mature son or daughter to "serve and protect" the body of Christ through the gifts of the Spirit. Our go to summer salad that you can get creative with! Change up the grain and vegetables dependent on what you have in the fridge or garden. We love serving this with any plant based or animal protein, especially chicken or salmon. If you are GF, we recommend replacing the couscous with millet or brown rice. Serves: 4-6 Time: 20 minutes Ingredients 1 cup israeli couscous Water 2 tbsp cooking oil 1 head broccoli, cut into florets 1/2 tsp sea salt Herb Oil: 1 cup herbs, roughly chopped 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil 2 cloves garlic, crushed 1 tsp sea salt To Serve: 1/2 cup flaked almonds, toasted 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds, toasted 1 cup herbs, roughly chopped Method: Add the couscous into a pot and toast over a medium heat for a couple of minutes. Then add enough water to just cover the couscous. Bring to the boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 8 minutes. Drain and set aside. Heat up the oil in a pan and add the broccoli and sea salt. Allow the broccoli to sit and cook in the oil for a couple of minutes, then give it a toss. Then allow it to sit and cook for another couple of minutes. Once it is nice and crispy, remove the pan from the heat. For the herb oil, add all of the ingredients to a small blender and blend until a vibrant green oil is formed. Alternatively, you can use a handheld stick blender. Set aside. In a large bowl, add the cooked couscous, broccoli, almonds and pumpkin seeds. Drizzle over the herb oil and gently toss everything together. Lastly add the herbs and give everything one last final toss before serving. This salad will last in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Please note if you are wanting to keep it over the 3 days, leave the herbs out and add them just before enjoying. Utilizing the traditional diet of moderation and portion control combined with vigorous exercise, I lost 75 pounds by April of 2012. I continued losing weight until reaching 168 lbs, with 4% body-fat as of November of 2012 and reversed my high blood pressure during this time. Eventually, low-carb portion control dieting became too difficult to maintain, and he slowly regained weight, reaching 195 pounds in May of 2013. It was at this time, He read “Eat to Live” by Dr. Joel Fuhrman, and the information in his book changed his life forever. For the first time, he learned the connection between what we EAT and disease. In addition to his work, He also studied and learned from NUMEROUS other nutritional healers such as Dr. Michael Greger, Dr. Milton Mills, Dr. Kim Williams, and John Robbins. He mastered the “eat to live” method and witnessed the miraculous healing power of consuming a nutrient-dense plant-RICH diet. He cured myself of high triglycerides after a Cardiologist was looking to place me on prescription medications. He was shocked when my levels went from over 300 mg to under 70 mg in just 42 days. Eating a nutrient-dense, plant-rich diet cured my frequent headaches and aching joints. He continued diving into the knowledge about the relationship between food and disease, and the more I learned, the more I desired to share my experience and expertise with the world. Fellow Police Officers sought my nutritional advice and when I started helping others learn how to eat better and exercise, I realized I had found my life's calling. In 2014, I became a Certified Personal Trainer, and in August of 2016, He became a Certified Health Coach. He decided to leave Law Enforcement to start a non-profit organization – Ministry of Wellness, Inc. The mission of my organization is to inform, educate, and motivate regarding the healing power of nutritional excellence. It disturbs him how the masses are not being adequately taught about the power of food to either destroy or heal our bodies. Although he loves being a full-time Minister of Wellness, 12 consecutive years serving this country as a Marine and my hometown as a Police Officer, helped tremendously in having the discipline, focus, and resolve he will need to accomplish the monumental task before me. Why does he call himself The Minister of Wellness? Minister means “TO SERVE,” and “wellness” is the ongoing process of being healthy. My mission is to help you achieve and maintain PERMANENT health throughout your entire life. He is genuinely excited to have the honor to SERVE YOU, in achieving your health and fitness goals. He hopes you live a long life in EXCELLENT HEALTH. (June 5, 2022) "What mission in life am I given?" is the question and the heart of Father Samuel Dubois's homily on this Pentecost Sunday. The Holy Spirit gives us all different gifts and talents. The question we need to ask of ourselves is, "How is the Holy Spirit calling me to serve here and now and in this moment?""The Holy Spirit is always at work within us," said Father Dubois, "but it is up to us to allow that work to bear fruit. The Spirit does not force this to happen, but He will always be there when we need Him."Let us, therefore, entrust our lives and calling to the care of the Holy Spirit. Let Him lead us in the proper direction of service through His power and His grace. "Follow it, and do not be afraid," Father Dubois concluded.
Week One: 05/29/2022 Title: Don't go to Church Bible: Matthew 20:1 – 16, “To Serve requires Sacrifice and Sacrifice Reflects our Attitude about Service.” Matthew 20:1 – 7 (NLT) “For the Kingdom of Heaven is like the landowner who went out early one morning to hire workers for his vineyard. 2 He agreed to pay the normal daily wage and sent them out to work. 3 “At nine o'clock in the morning he was passing through the marketplace and saw some people standing around doing nothing. 4 So he hired them, telling them he would pay them whatever was right at the end of the day. 5 So they went to work in the vineyard. At noon and again at three o'clock he did the same thing. 6 “At five o'clock that afternoon he was in town again and saw some more people standing around. He asked them, ‘Why haven't you been working today?' 7 “They replied, ‘Because no one hired us.' “The landowner told them, ‘Then go out and join the others in my vineyard.' Matthew 10:8 – 16 (NLT) 8 “That evening he told the foreman to call the workers in and pay them, beginning with the last workers first. 9 When those hired at five o'clock were paid, each received a full day's wage. 10 When those hired first came to get their pay, they assumed they would receive more. But they, too, were paid a day's wage. 11 When they received their pay, they protested to the owner, 12 ‘Those people worked only one hour, and yet you've paid them just as much as you paid us who worked all day in the scorching heat.' 13 “He answered one of them, ‘Friend, I haven't been unfair! Didn't you agree to work all day for the usual wage? 14 Take your money and go. I wanted to pay this last worker the same as you. 15 Is it against the law for me to do what I want with my money? Should you be jealous because I am kind to others?' 16 “So those who are last now will be first then, and those who are first will be last.” Are you looking for the contract? Romans 14:17-19 (NLT) 17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you, too. 19 So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up. Are you jealous or thankful? Matthew 10:9 – 10 (NLT) 9 When those hired at five o'clock were paid, each received a full day's wage. 10 When those hired first came to get their pay, they assumed they would receive more. But they, too, were paid a day's wage. Galatians 5:13 – 15 (NLT) 13 For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. 14 For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another. Serving is about sacrifice and our sacrifice shows are Attitude about Serving Mark 10:44-45 (NLT) 44 and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. 45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Romans 12:10 – 13 (NLT) 10 Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. 11 Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. 12 Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. 13 When God's people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. Head: What do I know now? Heart: How does this change me? Hands: What do I do now?
Brandi shares Sunday in Dickinson. What is the VISION of BFBC: “Revealing a Friend" to this REGION * This is our “MISSION STATEMENT” BFBC: is a Church as a Force mentality - The church is PEOPLE - who are equipped TO SERVE kingdom purposes When the SAINTS start doing the ministry, they get excited, and the church truly becomes A FORCE for God in the world. Isaiah 54:3 [KJV] "For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited." Break: to burst out, spread abroad, compel, disperse, and grow Forth: to show lineage Psalm 71:18 [NLT] Now that I am OLD and GRAY, do not abandon me, O God.Let ME proclaim your power to this NEW generation, your mighty miracles to ALL who COME AFTER me. Matt 9:35-36 [NKJV] "Then Jesus WENT about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd." One of the things that MOTIVATED and STIRRED the heart of compassion in my dad was while driving at night … he would look out and see a “YARD LIGHT” JESUS saw the multitudes … and it “MOVED” Him to action It's PEOPLE … that's why BFBC continues to grow – change – enlarge the place of our tent(s) Isaiah 54:2 [NIV] Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. Without a vision … we struggle With a vision … we flourish - we achieve success, and fulfill our God-given ASSIGNMENTS It takes OPERATING IN FAITH for a VISION to come to pass Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. [TPT] Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen. Vance Havner said, “The vision must be followed by the venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps – we must step up the stairs.” James 2:26 [GW] A body that doesn't breathe is dead. In the same way faith that does NOTHING is dead. Mark 9:23 [NLT] “What do you mean, ‘If I can'?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible IF a person believes.” We are to HEAR THE PROPHETIC WORD – CATCH THE VISION OF IT – SEE IT THROUGH THE EYE OF FAITH – REFUSE TO GIVE UP until it comes to pass Genesis 15:5-6 Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That's how many descendants you will have!” 6 And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith. It became REAL to him Proverbs 2:2 [TPT] So TRAIN your heart to listen when I speak … VISION comes when HE SPEAKS Proverbs 4:21 [TPT] Fill your THOUGHTS with my words until they penetrate deep into your spirit. This is keeping THE VISION in front of you 4 Then my father taught me, saying, “Never forget my words. [GW Translation: “Cling to my words wholeheartedly”] IF you do everything that I teach you, you will reign in life.” Reign: dominating power or influence - to have control, rule, or influence of any kind – possessing royal AUTHORITY Josh Pennington said, “It is one thing to see a vision. It's another thing to be seized by a vision.” Seized: take hold of suddenly and FORCIBLY

Subscribe to our Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/manlihood?sub_confirmation=1 We've been talking about the Virtues of Manhood, and this week, Josh Hatcher of Manlihood talks about the virtue of Service, and how every man should view his role as a leader through the lens of service. To Serve is more noble than to dominate Leadership starts with service. Those that serve will reap rewards. You don't need a title to lead. Kindness - The golden rule Ultimately, we all want to be KINGS, the king of our home, the top dog at work, etc., but the truth is, KNIGHT may be a more accurate title for our role. We serve a King or a Kingdom (and we can unpack what THAT means another day) and we serve it not as a ruler, or a lord, but as a leader who lays his life on the line for those he loves. ------------------ Get REIGNITE: A MAN'S FIELD GUIDE TO TAKING BACK HIS LIFE http://www.manlihood.com/reignite/ Join the ManCave Today: http://facebook.com/groups/manlihoodmancave ---------------- Do you have a question you'd like to have answered on The Manlihood ManCast? The theology of serving isn't just about being engaged in the church, it's about how we operate in our places of business, in our homes. To paraphrase Martin Luther, it's to do what you've been called to do and in so doing… “Serve God…by doing your work well and with integrity” Do it in such […] The post To Serve appeared first on Rockpointe Community Church.
