This week we pay homage to bands straddled the world of the 80s hard n' heavy and the 90s alternative n' grunge. These were bands that were somewhat outside of the status quo specifically in the hard rock and metal world that seemed to be playing music that was more genre and categorization-defying. Thus we've created our own non-genre called; The Inbetweeners!What's this InObscuria thing? We're a podcast that exhumes obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal and puts them in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. This week we cover all 3 categories and even some bands that we played early on in the podcast. The transition from the hard-rockin' 80s to the punk-edged alternative of the 90s was a time like no other, and some bands simply got caught in the middle. Go and check out these songs and the albums that they come from and enjoy some music from The Inbetweeners! Songs this week include:Atomic Opera – “Joy Ride” from For Madmen Only (1994)Crimson Glory – “Dance With Fire” from Strange And Beautiful (1991)King Of Kings – “Open Your Arms” from Who's Your Guru? (1992)The Awful Truth – “Circle” from The Awful Truth (1989)Damn The Machine – “Lonesome God” from Damn The Machine (1993)Mind Over Four – “12 Days Of Wind” from The Goddess (1990)Saigon Kick – “Torture” from Water (1994)Please subscribe everywhere that you listen to podcasts!Visit us: https://inobscuria.com/https://www.facebook.com/InObscuriahttps://twitter.com/inobscuriahttps://www.instagram.com/inobscuria/Buy cool stuff with our logo on it!: https://www.redbubble.com/people/InObscuria?asc=uCheck out Robert's amazing fire sculptures and metal workings here: http://flamewerx.com/If you'd like to check out Kevin's band THE SWEAR, take a listen on all streaming services or pick up a digital copy of their latest release here: https://theswear.bandcamp.com/If you want to hear Robert and Kevin's band from the late 90s – early 00s BIG JACK PNEUMATIC, check it out here: https://bigjackpnuematic.bandcamp.com/

Today's guest is a multi-talented musician who has been active in a number of bands. There is ArkAngel, Radio Halo, and Atomic Opera. He also worked with Caedmon's Call for a season in addition to having several albums of his own. I'm not sure how to classify Kemper's music. Is it Old English, Celtic, Medieval, or Art/Progressive Rock? Probably a little of all each of those styles. But Kemper is much more than just a musician. He is an author, teacher, and an Episcopal priest, currently working at a Lutheran church. Kemper is a true renaissance man, with a medieval bent and a heart for using art to reach people for Jesus. Kemper Crabb: Website, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. And of course on our page: Christian Music Archive. Christian Music Archive Links: Website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.

Chegando a edição de número 64 do Total Distortion com o segundo especial Old but Gold com alguns sons que gosto de chamar de clássicos desconhecidos (da maioria do público). Temos o pós-grunge alternativo do UPO que conta com membros do Hollywood Rose e do que viria depois se tornar o Five Finger Death Punch, a banda ilustre desconhecida Kilgore Smudge com o seu hardcore nova-iorquino feito fora de Nova York, o nu-metal assumido do Depswa e o industrial louco da turma junkie e trágica do American Head Charge, o hardcore nova-iorquino autêntico do Sick of it All, o Prog-Hard Rock da banda pseudo cristã Atomic Opera, a fusão de hardcore nova-iorquino (OUTRA VEZ!!) com alternative e groove metal do Dry Kill Logic, o groove metal melódico do Nothingface, o grunjão sem vergonha (no bom sentido) do Paw e o rock alternativo com forte influência punk do Sponge! Ufa! Haja som legal! Não se esqueça, se além de rock e metal, você gostar de trilhas de animações, desenhos, programas de tv de super heróis e jogos, não deixe de conferir o meu outro programa, o Power Rockers: https://player.fm/series/power-rockers Tracklist: - U.P.O. - Godless; - Kilgore Smudge - Hangtime; - Depswa - From the Inside; - American Head Charge - Just So You Know; - Sick of it All - Scratch the Surface; - Atomic Opera - Joyride; - Dry Kill Logic - Nightmare; - Nothingface - Murder is Masturbation; - Paw - Veronica; - Sponge - Plowed;
