“I wonder if we'll get a cease and desist on this episode…” Generally speaking, whenever someone says “Slayer” or “Metallica”, you think of two veteran thrash bands which both formed in 1981 and both released their debut albums in 1983. This is common knowledge among most fans of both of these bands. Ironically, there's another band who follows this exact same timeline of forming in 1981 and releasing their debut album in 1983, yet at the time, they were NOT at all thrashy…not even close. Most of us know of PANTERA as the brutally heavy, groove metal masters from Arlington, Texas who lit a proverbial fire under the ass of the thrash and heavy music scene in 1990 with their “major label” debut album (with the emphasis, in this case, on the words “major label”) as CFH was actually their FIFTH studio album. Fifth? Wait a minute…what about THE FIRST FOUR studio albums!? And why are those albums not talked about and celebrated just like all things PANTERA!? Well, there's a reason that THE FIRST FOUR aren't really talked about or acknowledged. Actually, there are probably a multitude of reasons, but the most glaring one is the stylistic difference between their early glam and power metal days and the heavier, grittier era when they truly became the “Cowboys From Hell”. Remember those awkward Olan Mills pictures you used to take with the family, or better yet, the pictures of you in high school with that absurd, dorky hairstyle that people always like to bring up in conversation? That's kinda what THE FIRST FOUR ALBUMS by PANTERA were like. Always remember that “Dokken is better than KISS” and you absolutely have to “pill up before PT”. Find out why “concubine” is a much cooler term than girlfriend, why the stress of having multiple families can be fatal, and realize that most doctors' definition of “prescription pain medication” is painfully incorrect and a complete waste of a prescription pad. Get ready to find out which Pantera album came out on Rex's 20th birthday, which song features Dime on lead vocals, and understand that while we absolutely did not plan for this to be episode 333, it just so happened to turn out that way. Brace yourselves and get your relaxers ready before you JOIN US as we go back to the 80's to get a better idea of why one of the greatest metal bands of all time tried to bury their earliest work (and original “not as metal” logo) with THE FIRST FOUR from the mighty PANTERA. Der METALKELLER - Deutschlands einzige Metal Late Night Show - Der deutsche Metal Podcast
Nedslagspunkter: - Dave Mustaine og Megadeth indleder året med udgivelsen af 3. albummet “So Far, So Good… So What!”, der indeholder nummeret "In My Darkest Hour", inspireret af Cliff Burtons bortgang. - Metallica mindes Cliff Burton ved at skrue ned for bassen på bandets fjerde album “… and Justice For All”. - I Florida definerer Death fortsat deres nye stil, death metal. I New York udgiver Anthrax “State of Euphoria”, og besøger København med LA-bandet Suicidal Tendencies. - Ozzy introducerer ny guitarist i Zakk Wylde på “No Rest for the Wicked". I LA hitter Poison med poppet glam metal på “Open Up and Say… Aah!”, mens Bon Jovi holder sig på hitlistetoppen med reference til deres ophavssted, “New Jersey”. - I Seattle-området lyder der nye rock-toner fra de albumdebuterede Soundgarden og singledebutanterne Nirvana. - Texas-bandet Pantera og deres nye forsanger Phil Anselmo sværger til den Judas Priest-tro metal på albummet “Power Metal”. - Judas Priest selv laver en del af deres 11. album, “Ram It Down” i Puk-studiet nær Randers. En fortsættelse af elektro-stilen fra “Turbo”, men også med heavy metal statementet… “Heavy metal”. - PS. Og så er Priests udskældte cover af Chuck Berry-klassikeren “Johnny B. Goode” faktisk i orden, mener både Steffen og Stützer. God lytning, og på genhør i seriens sidste afsnit, 1989, om cirka en uges tid! Idé, tilrettelæggelse og research: Jens "Jam" Rasmussen Produktion: Jan Eriksen

Interview with Sean Wade, CEO of Power Metal Resources PLC & Marcel Nally, Founder of MinestartersOur previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/power-metal-resources-aimpow-advancing-a-pipeline-of-high-potential-exploration-projects-6311Recording date: 15th October 2025Power Metal Resources is investing £3 million to become the cornerstone investor in Minestarters, a blockchain-based platform designed to address critical funding shortages in early-stage mining exploration. The AIM-listed mining exploration incubator will acquire 49% of Minestarters, gaining access to significantly larger capital pools through tokenisation while maintaining visibility of investment value through tradable digital assets.CEO Sean Wade describes the funding environment for early-stage mining over the past two to three years as "a desert" where even "fantastic prospects" that "would have flown off the shelves during COVID" have struggled to raise adequate capital. This capital scarcity prevents companies from investing sufficient sums to properly develop resources, with projects requiring significant drilling programs finding markets closed or capital available only at prohibitive costs.Minestarters addresses this gap by issuing 120 million tokens backed by real-world mining assets. The platform will deploy 70 million tokens to the public in tranches, with the first 20 million released at $0.10 per token. All proceeds flow into a treasury used exclusively to fund selected mineral exploration projects through a rigorous investment committee that expects to reject 90-95% of applicants.A key innovation involves smart contracts that automate milestone-based funding, releasing capital only as projects achieve predetermined objectives. This approach reduces capital leakage and human error compared to traditional mining finance, where project managers might request additional funds mid-programme without clear accountability frameworks.Wade emphasises the partnership creates immediately visible value contrasting with conventional exploration investments: "I could tomorrow spend £3 million on an asset in Canada. Nothing's going on my balance sheet that's visible to a shareholder for three years plus." The tradable tokens provide 24/7 price transparency, enabling investors to track Power Metal's Minestarters holdings in real-time while the company leverages its proven IPO expertise to provide exit pathways for funded projects.View Power Metal Resources' company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/power-metal-resourcesSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com
In the grand theater of heavy metal, moments arise when the tectonic plates of the genre shift, heralding the arrival of something monumental. This is one of those moments. This week, two of the most formidable forces in modern metal, Sweden's power metal titans Sabaton and Finland's melodic death metal masters Omnium Gatherum, are launching major campaigns with the announcement of highly anticipated new albums. These are not mere record releases; they are strategic deployments of sonic force, meticulously crafted to conquer new territory and fortify their legacies. At the helm of these campaigns are two of the genre's most respected commanders: Sabaton frontman Joakim Brodén and Omnium Gatherum's founding guitarist Markus Vanhala. This week's edition of The Loaded Radio Podcast brings these two masterminds together for an exclusive deep-dive conversation, a rare summit where the architects of war anthems and melancholic requiems share their strategies, their philosophies, and the stories behind their new masterworks.
As a massive fan of this band for years, it was a dream come true to speak to Joakim Broden, singer of Swedish power metal titans Sabaton on Psychic Warfare this week. Sabaton's new album Legends is out now, and Joakim spoke with me about what it means to be a legend, shared the most spiritually powerful historical battlefield he's ever visited, spoke about recognizing his own mortality, and much more in this episode. A huge thanks to Joakim for coming on, and a reminder to everyone to check out Legends, which is out now wherever you find your music. In POWER METAL, award-winning journalist Vince Beiser chronicles the destructive side effects that the global hunt for critical metals has on our clean energy transition, from environmental damage to political upheaval to murder. Vince Beiser is an award-winning journalist and author of “The World in a Grain: The Story of Sand and How It Transformed Civilization.” The book has been translated into five languages, was a finalist for a PEN America award and a California Book Award, and spawned a TEDx talk. Vince is currently at work on a new book, “Power Metal”, about how the materials we need for digital technology and renewable energy are causing environmental havoc, political upheaval, mayhem and murder—and how we can do better.Vince has reported from over 100 countries, states, provinces, kingdoms, occupied territories, no man's lands and disaster zones. He has exposed conditions in California's harshest prisons, trained with troops bound for Iraq, ridden with the first responders to natural disasters, and hunted down other stories from around the world for publications including Wired, The Atlantic, Harper's, Time, The Guardian, Mother Jones, Playboy, Rolling Stone, The Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times.Vince's work has been honored by Investigative Reporters and Editors, the Society of Professional Journalists, the American Society of Journalists and Authors, the Columbia, Medill and Missouri Graduate Schools of Journalism, and many other institutions. He has three times been part of a team that won the National Magazine Award for General Excellence, and shared in an Emmy for his work with the PBS TV series SoCal Connected. “In the next 25 years, the world will need more copper than in all of human history.”Amendment - I said 3.2 billion kg of copper in opening question, I should have said 320 million kg. In this episode, journalist and author Vince Beiser returns to the podcast to discuss his book Power Metal, a sobering look at the metals that make modern civilization possible — and the extraordinary cost of extracting them.We cover the story of copper — the wire of empire. Beiser reveals why humanity will need more copper in the next 25 years than we've used in all of history, and how that quest is reshaping geopolitics, the environment, and our very ideas of progress. From Chile's drought-stricken Atacama mines to the e-waste yards of Lagos, Nigeria, we follow the real people and places behind our “clean-energy” future — and the dirty truths that power it.We also unpack the rise of deep-sea mining, the billionaires behind it, and the tensions between state power, corporate ambition, and the planet's limits. Along the way we meet Robert Friedland, Gerard Barron, Dan Gertler, and a cast of characters who prove that the world still runs on digging — and that the future will too.If you liked The World in a Grain or stories about how our material world shapes our moral one, this conversation will hit home.Topics: Resource wars, clean-tech paradox, deep-sea mining, copper shortage, China's industrial strategy, EV economics, and how to reduce demand without going backwards. In today's episode, we chat with Sean Wade, CEO of Power Metal Resources, and Ian Freeman, CEO of Minestarters. Sean has been on the show before, and Power Metal has been building momentum with its diverse portfolio and project incubator model. Ian joins us for the first time to introduce Minestarters, a new platform bringing blockchain and tokenisation into the world of mining finance. In this conversation, we'll cover the progress Power Metal has made since Sean was last on the podcast, Ian's journey to founding Minestarters, and how the platform is opening up new opportunities for project funding. We'll also discuss the challenges with traditional mining finance, how this partnership complements Power Metal's strategy, and what both companies have planned for the months ahead. KEY TAKEAWAYS Traditional mining finance is often constrained by a scarcity of capital, high costs, and long lock-up periods for investors, which has hindered the ability of junior miners to get projects funded. MineStarters is a fintech business that uses blockchain and tokenisation to create a decentralised finance (DeFi) network, connecting early-stage mining projects to global capital pools, allowing for 24/7 trading and liquidity. Power Metals' strategy is to continue its project incubator model—finding, developing, and crystalising assets—but with the added fintech dimension of MineStarters The partnership is highly synergistic: Power Metals will invest up to £3 million for up to a 49% equity stake in MineStarters, which will generate revenue through deal and platform fees BEST MOMENTS "The world we've been in and are in is is is tough. It's it's reduced very, very substantially. What this is going to do is going to take our model, existing model, and it's going to develop it further." "What tokenisation allows, through this distributed, um, so decentralised finance network that's enabled by the blockchain, it allows us to take this on-chain capital and bridge to the off-chain real-world asset." "I believe that the MineStarters platform, the business itself, will create a tremendous amount of value. 49% of that will be owned by the Power Metal shareholders." "We are very firmly in the space of the project incubator... The idea is that we get started on the projects, we turn them into a company, IPO that business” VALUABLE RESOURCES Mail: rob@mining-international.org LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ X: https://twitter.com/MiningRobTyson YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/DigDeepTheMiningPodcast Web: http://www.mining-international.org GUEST SOCIALS Power Metal Resources X - https://x.com/PowerMetRes LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/power-metal-resources/ https://www.powermetalresources.com info@powermetalresources.com Minestarters X - https://x.com/minestarters25 LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/minestarters/ https://minestarters.com/ https://www.sec.gov/about/sec-launches-project-crypto CONTACT METHOD rob@mining-international.org https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/ Podcast Description Rob Tyson is an established recruiter in the mining and quarrying sector and decided to produce the “Dig Deep” The Mining Podcast to provide valuable and informative content around the mining industry. When cultural fusion meets metal's raw power, something magical happens. That's exactly what we experienced witnessing BABYMETAL and BLOODYWOOD share a stage at Mohegan Arena—a concert that showcased the global evolution of heavy metal and left us breathless despite some venue challenges.BLOODYWOOD exploded onto the stage with their unique blend of traditional Indian instrumentation and modern metal, immediately converting new listeners with their wall of sound approach. Since their beginnings covering metal classics on YouTube in 2016-2018, they've developed into a powerhouse combining bhangra rhythms, hindi drums, and crushing guitars. What makes them truly special isn't just their musical innovation, but their dedication to social causes—using their platform to speak against sexual assault, raise funds for mental health services in India, and support animal welfare. Their song "Ari Ari," transforming a traditional wedding song into a metal anthem, perfectly encapsulates their genius for cultural fusion.BABYMETAL followed with a performance showcasing their evolution from kawaii metal teens to commanding women owning the stage. Their elaborate mythology-driven introduction set the stage for precision choreography, powerful vocals, and a masterclass in theatrical metal. The backing band delivered incredible instrumental skill, particularly during spotlight moments for guitar and drums. Classic hits like "Gimme Chocolate" and "Headbanger" demonstrated why metal legends from Judas Priest to Metallica have embraced them. The highlight? Seeing both groups perform their collaboration "Bekhauf" together—a rare moment where Japanese kawaii metal and Indian folk metal created something entirely new.Despite bass-heavy acoustics challenges that sometimes overwhelmed the arena, both bands demonstrated professional resilience by adjusting their sound and maintaining phenomenal energy throughout. This concert wasn't just entertainment—it was a glimpse into metal's exciting future as a vehicle for cultural exchange and shared energy across continents.
