Escalada A queda de 10% na audiência e nos downloads de podcast em setembro, uma pesquisa que levantou as tendências da indústria do podcasting segundo jornalistas, estratégias e dicas para monetização de podcasts e o início da venda dos ingressos para o Spotify Podcast Festival estão entre as principais notícias que você vai ouvir nesta 36ª edição do Castnews! NOTÍCIAS 1. E a gente começa essa edição falando sobre os dados mais recentes da Podtrac, que todo mês faz um levantamento da audiência dos podcasts norte-americanos, e também avalia os principais players do mercado. De acordo com o levantamento de setembro, a audiência e os downloads de podcasts nos Estados Unidos sofreram uma queda de 10% em comparação ao mês de agosto. A iHeartPodcasts continua sendo a principal plataforma de publicação de podcasts, mesmo que a audiência mensal tenha diminuído dos 37 milhões do mês de agosto pra 32 milhões em setembro. Os downloads também caíram, de 420 milhões para 387 milhões no mesmo período. E a gente tá falando aqui de muito e muitos milhões, é incrível ver esses números com 20 anos de podcast, eu não canso de me surpreender. A Wondery está no primeiro lugar das redes em vendas, mas também teve queda na audiência, já que passou de 27 milhões de ouvintes em agosto para cerca de 24 milhões em setembro. Em resumo, no último mês ninguém saiu ganhando, toda a podosfera americana sofreu uma baixa, mas não é motivo pra preocupação. Vale lembrar que em setembro não só foi o aniversário da tragédia do World Trade Center, que é um marco simbólico pros Estados Unidos, mas também é o mês da campanha de setembro amarelo. Nessa época o consumo de conteúdo dá uma esfriada mesmo, e também nos Estados Unidos recentemente acabou a greve dos roteiristas, o que também teve um impacto na nossa indústria. No ano passado a baixa de setembro foi de 5%, mas a mídia voltou a crescer em outubro. O esperado é que esse ano isso volte a se repetir. Podtrac: audiência e download de podcasts caíram 10% em setembro 2. De acordo com uma pesquisa da Muck Rack realizada com mais de dois mil jornalistas, 39% dos jornalistas que são podcasters se concentram na cobertura de política, 34% no entretenimento e 29% em arte e cultura, o que mostra uma grande versatilidade desses profissionais na criação de conteúdo, cobrindo várias áreas diferentes. A pesquisa também levantou que 35% dos podcasters entrevistados esperam crescimento na indústria de podcasts em 2024. No aspecto das redes sociais, a maioria dos entrevistados disse que planeja aumentar sua presença no LinkedIn e YouTube e reduzir sua atividade no Facebook – o Facebook já acabou, né? O Twitter/X é um caso à parte: 95% dos podcasters usam a plataforma todos os dias pra promover seu conteúdo e acompanhar notícias, só que mais da metade considerou abandonar o site em 2022. Por que será, né?  Por fim, a pesquisa também levantou dados sobre a renda anual dos jornalistas podcasters. 86% deles declarou que ganha menos de 40 mil dólares por ano, então, muitos deles veem os podcasts como um projeto paralelo aos seus empregos principais. Quem nunca… Muck Rack: Jornalistas podcasters demonstram maior versatilidade na criação de conteúdo 3. E na última quarta-feira, a Auphonic lançou uma nova funcionalidade que faz remoção automática das “expressões de preenchimento” durante a edição de áudio. Se você não sabe o que são expressões de preenchimento – e até hoje eu também não tinha ouvido falar nesses termos, eu vou explicar aqui: é defeito de fala, mesmo! São aqueles “é…”, “hãã”, “humm”, “tá” que a gente faz quando tá falando, pra preencher as lacunas entre um pensamento e outro – e essas expressões também são chamadas de “marcadores de discurso” (é um jeito bonito pra falar que a gente tem muito erro pra cortar). Enfim, essa funcionalidade não se aplica a conteúdos em vídeo, só em áudio. Claro, né, porque sincronizar esses cortes de imagem e áudio seria virtualmente impossível. Um dia, quem sabe, mas por enquanto ainda não. Até o momento, já foi feito teste da ferramenta em inglês, alemão, espanhol e francês, mas a Auphonic tá incentivando os usuários a fazerem testes em outros idiomas e deixar feedbacks pra melhorar o algoritmo. A novidade, porém, ainda não ofereceu nenhuma maneira de remover o episódio baixado da lista de podcasts – ou seja, se você baixa e ouve um episódio, ele fica depois ali parado, reproduzido, mas sem sumir da sua lista, o que não é nem um pouco conveniente. Por enquanto, o recurso está sendo implementado aos poucos e foi testado na versão 6.21 do YouTube Music para Android e iOS. Ainda dá tempo da plataforma corrigir os bugs antes da ferramenta ficar disponível pra todos os usuários se ela quiser. YouTube Music oferece download automático de episódios de podcast E MAIS: 7. A ferramenta, que pode ser usada pra vários propósitos diferentes na produção de um podcast, também pode levantar alguns pontos negativos que devem ser evitados, segundo os ouvintes de podcast. Apresentações compridas sem motivo, excesso de anúncios e mau comportamento dos apresentadores foram algumas das práticas que a inteligência artificial considerou ‘prejudiciais à experiência'. Claro que essas não são as únicas observações a se fazer, afinal de contas a máquina só pode replicar a experiência humana até certo ponto, mas sempre vale a pena tomar um cuidado extra pra não cometer erros evitáveis. My guest today is Barb Schroeder. Barb works with families who are experiencing alienation. She is a certified Reunification Coach, Ohio Supreme Court Mediator, Guardian at Litem and Parenting Coordinator. Although Barb works in the court system her emphasis is working with families that the court system has failed. Helping alienated parents find stability, strategies for reaching out to their adult children and preparing them for reunification are just some of the things she focuses on with her clients. Barb would be happy to work with you. We discussed how alienated parents will handle upcoming graduations, Mother's Day and Father's Day and the coping skills such as reaching out to an organization for children without parents and try to do something special for them for those occasions. The importance to plan an activity or project to keep oneself focused on something else other than a day a parent won't be able to see their child. Barbara encourages to avoid social media and focus on other projects and positive coping skills. Remember that this is a day about your child, not about you and making sure that you are trying to make it known to your child that you are present, whether it be a graduation or wedding. Barbara encourages that part of preparing to reunify is making sure that you can anticipate the ups and downs of reunification and also that you are in the best shape physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally.      My guest today is Barb Schroeder. Barb works with families who are experiencing alienation. She is a certified Reunification Coach, Ohio Supreme Court Mediator, Guardian at Litem and Parenting Coordinator.      Although Barb works in the court system her emphasis is working with families that the court system has failed.  Helping alienated parents find stability, strategies for reaching out to their  adult children and preparing them for reunification are just some of the things she focuses on with her clients. Barb would be happy to work with you.       We discussed how alienated parents will handle upcoming graduations, Mother's Day and Father's Day and the coping skills  such as reaching out to an organization for children without parents and try to do something special for them for those occasions. The RCP team weigh in and offer their insight and analysis about the death of Brian Wells, which is the focus of the Netflix show ‘Evil Genius: The True Story Of America’s Most Diabolical Bank Heist’ co-directed by Trey Borzillieri and Barbara Schroeder. Brian Wells, a local pizza delivery man, held up a PNC Bank with a bomb collar around his neck and a cane gun. He had two pages of elaborate handwritten instructions - a detailed scavenger hunt - leading him from place to place, both to steal $250, 000 and pick up new instructions, with the promise of freedom if he completes the tasks in time. Having left the bank he was stopped by police in a parking lot. Having cuffed him and sat him on the ground some 25 minutes later, the bomb starts to beep. The beeping escalated until the moment it exploded, killing Brian Wells. The bomb squad arrived too late.Was he part of this elaborate plan to rob the bank or a victim exploited and manipulated by others? Evil Genius. August 28th, 2003. Erie, Pennsylvania. A pizza delivery man robbed a bank with a bomb around his neck and a cane shotgun. He was captured soon after by police and handcuffed. The presence of a possible live bomb underneath his shirt caused the authorities to back away. The man repeatedly asked them to look for the keys to remove the bomb which were hidden in the instructions of a scavenger hunt. The elaborate heist resulted in a shocking moment that was captured by the media as police waited for the bomb squad to arrive. This is all covered in the new documentary series on Netflix by Barbara Schroeder and Trey Borzillieri. It's an unbelievable true story with many layers.
