You're listening to the Build That Business Podcast, episode 47. Today, I have my good friend Kristen DeBats coming on the show to talk about my favorite thing even - I'm in heaven. Today, we're talking about bridal shows, wedding shows and the power of staying in front of your audience face-to-face. Kristen is part of the Wedding In New York team (they serve Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse) and she and her team throw the most wonderful bridal shows. I owe so much of my success to her and I'm just so grateful for her. What we'll cover : 1. Bridal Show Myths. Why do you think that bridal shows sometimes get a bad wrap? People say they won't work, they're full of freebie seekers, their ideal client isn't at the show - ALL total excuses in my opinion. But let's just talk about those and nip them in the bud. 2. Why is face to face marketing still important in the age of social media? 3. How to choose what event is right for you and your business? What are the first steps if people listening are like - okay I'm ready to give this a shot! 4. How to prepare for a Bridal Show - the show prep, what to do at the show, and the follow up. 5. How to track your ROI. Was the show worth it? Thanks for tuning into today's episode of the Build That Business Podcast! Click here to snag it: www.LindsayJWilliams.com/bundle* Doors Close Friday, March 18th * Welcome to the Build That Business podcast, episode number 35. Today, we're talking about my favorite thing to talk about, Bridal Shows. They are my number one source of leads and I personally think they're the most under-rated lead generation source in the wedding industry. We average 25k PER SHOW. That's right, $25,000 every bridal show we go to. Today, I'm breaking down how we do that and specifically how I scheduled 12 appointments at my first show. These 12 appointments started a snowball effect to get me from $30k to $300k in yearly revenue in just 5 years. You see, I've since perfected my bridal show strategy and now it's our number one source of leads. But first, I gotta address the elephant in the room. Let me ask you, have you ever thought about these things? “Bridal shows are full of budget shoppers” “My ideal customers don't go to bridal shows” “The bridal shows in my area are not the same as yours, Lindsay. They're not big, they're not well attended” No, I'm not a mind reader. I just know this might be what you think when you hear me say Bridal Shows. Listen, I've heard all the excuses. You can continue to pretend like you're too good for bridal shows, but you're doing yourself a MAJOR disservice. The reason bridal shows are not working for you has nothing to do with any of the above, it has to do with the fact that you're just signing up and showing up. What are you doing to warm up the lead before the show? So that by the time people walk by your booth, they know you and are ready to book an appointment. Couples come to these shows ready to plan. Hundreds of people who are engaged and need your services are walking right by your booth. If you cant book at least a few weddings, you're doing something wrong. And I say all of this with ALL THE LOVE in the world, because I want you to win. I know the power of bridal shows and with just a few tweaks to your strategy, you'll see how powerful these lead generating machines are too. Have I convinced you to give them a shot yet? Like many of my topics, this came from a conversation I was having with one of my clients, a wedding/event pro, about what he should do for an upcoming Wedding Expo. He wanted to stand out, in a good way, and get the most ROI from the show. So, on this new episode, I'll share with you some of the things I told him, on how you can stand out, catch the attention of an audience that's literally moving as they are near you, and how you can profit more from Wedding Shows. Whether you've done Wedding Expos (formerly called Bridal Shows) before, or not, and whether you've gotten a good ROI or not, this episode will give you some food for thought!Listen to this new 16-minute episode and hear ways you can get the most out of wedding and other tradeshows. If you have any questions about anything in this, or any of my podcasts, or have a suggestion for a topic or guest, please reach out directly to me at Alan@WeddingBusinessSolutions.com or visit my website Podcast.AlanBerg.comPlease be sure to subscribe to this podcast and leave a review (thanks, it really does make a difference). In this episode we discuss how to attract ideal clients at a wedding show. We talk about how you can improve your first impressions with potential clients and the best ways to follow-up with people you meet to increase your ROI (book those contracts!). In this episode, Jamie and Heather discuss:Preparing for an onslaught of different personalitiesCollecting and organizing data after the expoSpeaking with people who visit your bootLetting people choose and making them comfortableKey Takeaways:Prepare yourself for an onslaught of different personalities and it would be very beneficial for you to be able to gauge a person's personality quickly.Gather email addresses yourself - don't rely on the expo to give you the email. Store data that you personally collected, pick and choose ideal clientsPrepare pain points to discuss, and a short summary of what a coordinator does and how you can help them in those points.Give people the freedom to choose - it will work on your advantage. Don't stress people out and rush them into making a decision that they might not be comfortable with."We're really assessing personality and where the person is at in the process and what they want - like what are they looking at, what do they need " — Heather Fier Connect with The Union Podcast:Website: https://theunionpodcast.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/unionpodcast/?hl=enShow: https://theunionpodcast.com/our-podcast/ Connect with Jamie:YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdAcY6YGgF-RgGYXTsOENbAWebsite: https://jwcoordination.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jwcoordination/?hl=enFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/JWCoordination/ Connect with Heather:Website: https://theweddinghacker.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/weddinghackerInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/weddinghackerexpoPinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/theweddinghacker/ Show notes by Podcastologist: Justine TallaAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. Most vendors aren't sure the price tags for wedding shows make them a justifiable investment. My thesis is they can be so long as you come up with, and properly execute a plan for the expo.
