Tonix Pharmaceuticals Holdings CEO Dr Seth Lederman joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share encouraging preclinical results presented at the American Association for Cancer Research, highlighting the company's novel therapeutic candidate TNX-1700 for gastric cancer. In the study, a murine fusion protein (mTFF2-MSA) was tested, modeling the human fusion version TFF2-HSA currently under development as TNX-1700. Dr. Lederman explained that combining mTFF2-MSA with anti-PD1 immunotherapy significantly reduced tumor immunosuppression in animal models. Specifically, the therapy decreased immunosuppressive neutrophils and cancer-induced granulopoiesis, while stimulating CD8+ T-cell responses that helped inhibit tumor progression. The study also revealed a negative correlation between TFF2 expression and PMN-MDSC levels in gastric cancer patients, supporting the clinical relevance of TFF2 modulation in immuno-oncology. At Enterprise Connect 2025, Microsoft's announcement of Microsoft Teams Phone Extensibility marked a significant leap in the evolution of Teams-integrated communications. Carter is a two-time academy award-winning costume designer whose creativity and talent have left an incredible mark in the film industry.From the African-inspired designs of “Black Panther” to the symbolism behind the costumes in “Malcolm X,” each piece is a testament to Carter's skill at blending history, culture, and storytelling.During an exhibition of her costumes at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, she said, “It's amazing to me because each one is a different time in my life, and now they're all here together.”Carter's journey to success started when she auditioned for an acting role but didn't get the part. She was asked to design the costumes instead, and her passion grew. “Quickly, I realized that I could play all the characters, not just one. That I was able to do a character discovery, a deep dive into the intricoes of each of the characters and bring the characters to life amongst all of them.”“Each one of these pieces here, they represent some passion that I had. I made lots of decisions on each one of these costumes.”As Carter sees it, making costumes became a new way of exploring art, photography, textures and design. “I can recreate this in a medium that tells the story of them. I see their story, I see behind their eyes and who they are, and it just fascinates me.”Her work is featured in many popular TV shows and films including, “Coming to America,” “Selma,” “Roots,” “Rosewood,” and “Wakanda Forever.” Carter came to Indianapolis during the past weekend for the debut of her exhibition at the Children's Museum and for a panel discussion at the Madam Walker Legacy Center.For young women or people of color who aspire to Carter's career, she says, it's important to know that it's a passion career and not always glamorous, but it's key to be excited about one's own individual path. “You have to be a student of your passion and you have to stay the course. You learn so much even from your mistakes. There is no such thing as a mistake. If there is a Constant in Country Music, it is that the songs of the Carter Family Inspire. Minnesota singer Pam Linton has dug into the Carter repertoire, and created a CD of songs titled simply Songs of the Carter Family. Pam's CD release event will be at Crooner's Supper Club, February 14 at 7:30pm. When Pam talked to Phil Nusbaum about the Carter Family project, Pam first talked about AP Carter's practice of hunting for songs in Appalachia.

Heartland Souvenirs is Becky Schlegel, Katy Tessman and Nikki Lamire. The three songwriters found each other almost by accident. But once they realized their great singing chemistry, they started building a repertoire of their own songs, and songs written by others. The Trio has also recorded its interpretations of songs by John Prine. Heartland Souvenirs performs at 318 Café in Excelsior, 8 till 10pm on Saturday March 8. When they met with Phil Nusbaum, Becky addressed how her interest in Prine was stimulated.

A new exhibition at the Museum of Broadway honors Black theater trailblazers through costumes, archival material, and history. Musical theater artist and historian Ben West discusses Crafting Excellence: Black Storytellers of Broadway and how Black artists have shaped the New York theater scene. The exhibition is on view through March 16.

The “Negro Motorist Green Book,” a guide for African Americans first published in 1936, was a valued resource at a time when travel held the promise of adventure but was also perilous. It is now the subject of an exhibit showcasing the history, struggles and triumphs of Black travel in America. Communities correspondent Gabrielle Hays reports for our series, Race Matters. The “Black, Black History Month pop-up museum in Portland’s Old Town district has three floors of exhibits featuring history, photography, paintings, film and music. And the Horizon Enterprise Building that serves as the temporary museum is itself a kind of exhibit, as its new owners want to turn it into a community space to serve and support BIPOC artists and organizations. Tory Campbell is the interim director of culture at the 1803 Fund, which is supporting the building’s transition -  and the organizations represented in the museum. Taishona Carpenter is the board president of Don’t Shoot Portland, which runs The BLACK Gallery and was one of the curators of the pop-up museum. We talk with them about the mission and vision of their organizations and how that’s reflected in the exhibits.
