An artsy kid born in Kerrville, Texas & raised across the U.S. as a military brat, Steven Calcote always sought unique narratives and varied experiences. After moving to China for a work study program, he became enamored with seeing the world and finding the hidden places where untold stories lie. He one day realized that filmmaking was his ultimate calling eventually cofounding Butcher Bird Studios with Jason and three other artists. He and Jason sat in the park near their office one afternoon reliving Steven’s adventures and calamities worldwide, his early days in film production, and a tragic error in interactive storytelling during his senior year of high school.
