Send us a textDaniel C. Jones has always been drawn to pedal steel guitar. In the early 1970s, he fell in love with the country rock scene at the time. What stuck out to him, though, wasn't the Nashville country scene – it was the alternative country scene.Jones loved the sound of performers such as Jerry Garcia, his project New Riders of the Purple Sage, and Peter E. Kleinow (or “Sneaky Pete”). In 1971, Jones's brother took him to see a performance of Garcia's most well-known band, The Grateful Dead. Waylon Jennings opened that night, joined by Ralph Mooney, pedal steel guitar player for Jennings's group the Waylors.Jones says the instrument called to him because its sound instantly captivated him. Throughout the 1970s, he steadily performed on the road full-time, but by the 1980s, he prioritized his education. He earned a BA in Music from Sonoma State University in California, an MM in Musicology/Music Theory at the University of Colorado (CU) Boulder in 1984, and a Ph.D in Musicology at CU Boulder in 1991.Jones taught musicology at CU Boulder for over twenty years before retiring after the fall 2019 semester. Throughout that time, he performed pedal steel guitar on the side, both by himself and with the instrumental group Standard Deviations. Now, Jones focuses entirely on playing, particularly embracing standards from the Great American Songbook. His original compositions and arrangements are all instrumental, so for him, it's important to find pieces that lie well in the instrument's range. Originating from Edinburgh Ann Tweak is one of the founders behind the long running party series The Mirror Dance – an eclectic party which has been based out of the longstanding Sneaky Pete's venue having played host to the likes of Yu Su, Dj Python, Shy One and more. As a DJ he draws upon a broad set of influences – this mixtape demonstrates a deep understanding of the roots of house music as it begins with its roots in the classic Chicago sound before meandering into more progressive, dubbed out tendencies later on. A classy assortment of tracks, folk up north don't do things by half measures.
In movies like “Million Dollar Baby,” "August: Osage County,” “Blow The Man Down,” and series like "The Americans,” “Justified,” and “Sneaky Pete,” “esteemed character actress Margo Martindale” loves to play people much different from herself. And she's been so good at it for so long that she only started to get truly recognized for her work in her 60s. Three Emmys later, she's able to pick and choose what she wants to do. Her latest, the Amazon series “The Sticky,” finds her number one on the call sheet and having a blast playing the bombastic maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry. On this episode she explains why the first step in her preparation process is knowing where a character was born and raised. She talks about feeling most free when she's able to “play” like she did in her backyard, what makes Alexander Payne and Robert Benton great directors, why it took some time for her to settle in to sit-com acting, and much more. Back To One is the in-depth, no-nonsense, actors-on-acting podcast from Filmmaker Magazine. In each episode, host Peter Rinaldi invites one working actor to do a deep dive into their unique process, psychology, and approach to the craft. Follow Back To One on Instagram

When you hear the term "singer-songwriter", what the first thing that comes to mind? Sensitive '70s long-haired hippies strolling through Laurel Canyon with an acoustic guitar? Us too. But, amidst the explosion of alternative rock, grunge, Britpop, electronic music, and hip-hop, the '90s were a fruitful decade for the singer-songwriter. This crop of artists drew from a stylistically varied palette, but played music with passion, heart, honesty, vulnerability, and a knack for poetic storytelling. One of the most promising singer-songwriters of the '90s was this week's Third Lad Milo Binder, the musical alter ego of Todd Lawrence. Milo Binder's self-titled debut album was released in 1991 to universal critical acclaim, featuring a respected roster of legendary musicians including Garth Hudson from The Band, Sneaky Pete from Flying Burrito Brothers, and Victoria Williams, as well as studio pros like the late David Vaught (Rosebud, Tom Waits, Roger McGuinn) and Duane Jarvis. Milo was profiled on NPR, received folk radio airplay, and shared the stage with a range of artists from the Indigo Girls to Soundgarden. Naturally, with that auspicious debut, Milo Binder went on to a long, fruitful musical career. Right? Well, a series of life changing events caused Milo Binder to hang up the guitar and transform back into mild-mannered Todd Lawrence for the better part of 33 years (the Superman analogy isn't all that hyperbolic...you'll find out that Todd is pretty much a super hero!). Other than the occasional live appearance and 2019's wonderfully whimsical psychedelic pop fable Paisley and the Firefly written and recorded with his longtime musical partner and best friend Willie Aron, a true follow up to the Milo Binder album never materialized. Until now. August 2024 heralded the return of Milo Binder with his (verrrrrry) long awaited second album, The Unspeakable Milo Binder, on Heyday Again (distributed by Real Gone Music). It finds our hero not only in fine form, but it's a record that equals or surpasses its predecessor. Listen to Milo's remarkable story, plus: What '90s singer-songwriter was a triple crossover...but with three different albums? Where did Uncle Gregg bomb doing stand up? Who was Milo's toughest audience? What group of people did Cher offend? (According to our official staff fact checker, aka Brett's wife, it's NOT who we said it was.) Our Guest: Lucie Tassel--Lucie Tassel is an artist with ' experience, and a completely atypical background.-Being French, she naturally made her debut in Paris, where she is originally from. Under the direction of Ned Grujic, she played the role of Helen Sinclair in Bullets Over Broadway and was part of the On The Town and Godspell ensembles at the Théâtre des Variétés in Paris. She also played the role of Poncia in Federico García Lorca's play The House of Bernarda Alba at the Théâtre de La Nouvelle Athènes, directed by Guillaume Bouchède. She was also a member of the chorus of the symphony orchestra accompanying Joe Hisaishi on his last tour of France, and the singers of the Chœur à l'horizon, a Paris-based professional chorus specializing in the musical theatre repertoire, created and directed by Nima Santonja. In 2024, she played the lead role of Della in Sneaky Pete's Wild West Dinner Show at the Legacy Dinner Theatre in Wisconsin, USA. She is also the producer and artistic director of the A-Broad'way Cabaret, in collaboration with Kendra McBride as musical director, which opens this November at Green Room 42 in New York City, and in which she will sing alongside other international artists.-Lucie is a graduate of ECM in Paris, a musical comedy school run by Ned Grujic and Véronique Fruchart, where she trained for 3 years in singing (vocal technique, polyphony, musicianship), dance (classical, jazz, tap), theater (classical, contemporary, mime, clowning) and stage combat (swords, batons). —She also trained in cartoon voice-over with Edwige Chandelier. —To complete her professional training, she moved to New York to study at AMDA, the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, where she benefited from American expertise, honing her skills in singing, dancing and acting.A sportswoman from an early age, she has a passion for salsa and other Latin dances, and enjoys a wide range of disciplines including tennis (her specialty), climbing, skiing, horse-riding and rollerblading. Lucie's career path is atypical: after obtaining her Master's degree in physical and nutritional rehabilitation, she worked as an elementary school teacher in Paris for 5 years before devoting herself fully to the performing arts. Trilingual French-Spanish-English, she is also a traveler who, after visiting several countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and America, fell in love with Venezuela, a country that really helped her grow emotionally and from which she has learned an enormous amount. All these trips, and the people she met along the way, opened her heart and mind, bringing to light what she dared not admit but secretly dreamed of: being an artist.----Join the conversation LiveChat as we raise the questions, give our opinions , and ask you the same questions... --Live Chat with Us Every week... -----Music: Audio Podcast : by Daniel Howse : www.youtube.com/ProfessorSoraMusic ** OneMicNite Theme Song "Chance" & Background Song "Kanye" Host:--Contact/ Follow Marcos on IG/Fb/IMdb/Twitter/TikTok: @MarcosLuis —Show: OneMicNite Podcast with Marcos Luis *Contact/Follow: IG/Fb/Twitter/Tumbler/LinkedIn/Youtube/TikTok @OneMicNite www.OneMicnite.com - - ** Listen to Audio Podcast: Available wherever you download , all digital platforms.. ** Support Us Now: http:www.Anchor.fm/onemicnitetalk ---Follow/Contact -- The Show: All Social Media Fb/Ig/Twitter/Tumbler/TikTok/ *** watch the episodes on Youtube @OneMicNite & www.OneMicNite.com****Please Support this Podcast: PayPal/ Zell Pay: MarcosStarActor@gmail.com Venmo @ Marcoso-Luis-1 CashApp : $MarcosLuis1 Please Visit: The AzulesEn Online store to find Products that Compliment your Lifestyle: Link : https://azulesen.myshopify.com/products/onemicnite-signature-logo-unisex-talk-live-pod-tee --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/onemicnite/support

As we got out to the middle the water swirled next to the boat like a whale turned next to us. The swirl was as big or bigger than our boat. It was extremely creepy so we headed to the dock! Still not sure what the swirl was caused by but maybe an under water spring... It was in 50' of water though. Alan Dumitrescu I'm the only person at this lake. You know the sound of a rod wishing through the air on a hard cast? Yeah that sounds happened in the wooded area behind me just once like a cast. Only similar sounds I've ever heard is bigger birds wings. I looked no birds anywhere no turkeys roosting in trees for the night. The sun was setting at this point. I didn't see anything but it was real close. My only other thought cause a bunch of neighboring property dogs were all fired up a few minutes earlier and they had settled down just before I heard it. Never heard bobcat hiss in person but at that point since they are in that area is all I could think and why the dogs were fired up. So I hurried the hell out of there. I'm not tangling with big kitty if that's what it was. John J Murphy Well I grew up in Salem Ma and used to fish a cemetery pond so I'd go with yes Phantom Casters From Rick Webster I was fishing the first beach at Sandy Hook in Jersey one late September. When I got to the parking lot and not another car in sight. I set up, soaking clams on two rods before sun-up. As the pre-dawn light began to show over the horizon, a THICK bank of fog rolled in. Slack tide and zero wind…very peaceful but not expecting anything spectacular. Suddenly, about 500 seagulls that had been resting on the roof of the bath house lifted into the air and began to dive nosily into the surf. The fog was so thick I couldn't see them, but I could hear them, not 20 yards off the beach. Figuring a blitz of snappers, I sent a 3-ounce Yo-Zuri popper into the fog and immediately came tight on what turned out to be a 12lb Albie. As I was fighting this fish, the fog began to lift and I could see I was surrounded by 25 to 30 other surfcasters. I had no clue how they suddenly appeared as this stretch of beach is wide open, so I would have seen them before the fog came in. No one spoke and the only sounds were screaming gulls and drags as we all enjoyed a rare mix of blues and albies for the next 30 minutes in a classic fall blitz. As the action died down, the fog rolled in again and I appeared to be all alone again. Since I was tired and a little spooked by the mornings events, I packed up my gear and headed back to the parking lot. Just like when I arrived, mine was the only car there. I have no idea where the other fishermen came from or how they disappeared and to this day, I'm not entirely convinced they were actually there. https://onthewater.com/spooky-fishing-stories Aliens prefer fishers: Pascagoula UFO Abduction https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pascagoula_Abduction See Entry 12: https://skepticalinquirer.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/29/2019/03/SI-MJ-12.pdf Charles Hickson 42 Calvin Parker 19 Went fishing on the Pascagoula River Mississippi October 11th 1973 On the evening of October 11, 1973, 42-year old Charles Hickson and 19-year-old Calvin Parker went fishing on the west bank of the Pascagoula River. As dusk fell, they heard a whirring/whizzing sound and saw flashes of blue light on the water. They looked up to see an oval-shaped object approximately 30-40 feet across and 8-10 feet high. Three creatures came gliding out of the craft and took them aboard. Completely paralyzed but still conscious, the two men were subjected to a medical exam by a giant robotic eye. They were then returned to shore, and the craft sped away into the night sky. Both changed their stories over time. Parker said he passed out but later claimed to remember certain details. This is the story of one of the greatest minds in the history of the sport of drag racing. Lew Russell Robinson known more widely as "Sneaky Pete" Robinson was an innovator without equal in the 1960s. He approached the sport as a trained engineer from Georgia Tech and took that education to speeds and performance unknown for his time. He was the type of guy they write rules to slow down, to save from themselves and to prevent lesser talented people from trying to venture down avenues they have no business entering. Robinson's 10 year run in the sport both in top gas and top fuel place him among the greatest not just of his generation, but of any generation. His use of simplicity and light weight made him the Colin Chapman of drag racing. His unique and off-the-wall ideas, rooted in aerospace engineering are the stuff of legend and don't seem real until you actually see them. Understand that had Pete Robinson not lost his life in a 1971 crash he would have gone one to likely be an incredible drag racing crew chief, innovator in open wheel racing, and the high performance aftermarket. This is the story of drag racing's mad scientist, "Sneaky Pete" Robinson.

Most people can only dream of having the kind of career producer/director Denise Di Novi has enjoyed. And she says a lot that came down to the fact that she never lost faith in the idea that this was what she was meant to do. Denise Di Novi is an award-winning film and television producer whose projects have grossed over a billion dollars worldwide. Di Novi counts among her producing credits pictures such as Heathers, Little Women, Practical Magic, Crazy, Stupid, Love, Focus, The Sky is Everywhere and a number of films during her producing association with Tim Burton, including Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Ed Wood and James and the Giant Peach. Di Novi is also a director. Her directorial debut, the psychological action thriller Unforgettable, starred Rosario Dawson and Katherine Heigl. Di Novi has also directed many television episodes including Sneaky Pete, Outlander and Ray Donovan. Di Novi set up her own production company, Di Novi Pictures, in 1993 at Columbia Pictures. She went on to have a production deal at Warner Bros. Pictures for two decades. Presently, Di Novi's feature company has a deal at Amazon MGM Studios. There's no doubt that casting a size 6 weighted streamer is more difficult than a size 14 Parachute Adams. The physics are different, no way around it. But casting guru Pete Kutzer [37:17] has some tricks that he shares to make casting big streamers, nymph rigs, and poppers easier by adjusting your casting motions. This is a frequent question on the Fly Box so I figured there was a need for an entire podcast on the subject. In the Fly Box this week, surprisingly I did not have any questions on casting big flies. But I did have these tips and questions: I have been looking for brown trout redds on my favorite wild trout stream but have not seen any. When and where do they spawn? Does it make sense to look at my dry flies from underneath, getting the same view as the fish? I have discovered a way of projecting my flies on the ceiling to look at them. My fly line lands OK, but my leader and fly curl off to one side and don't go where I want them to. What am I doing wrong? Why do trout in my river prefer Golden Stonefly nymphs over the bigger Salmonfly patterns? How do I know where to place studs on my Orvis felt-soled wading boots? I fish dry droppers on small streams, but in really shallow streams my nymph keeps snagging on the bottom. Do you still fish dry /dropper on very shallow streams? What is a good foreign language to learn if you travel to fish internationally? Do trout in cold tailwaters migrate closer to the dam in summer? I fish a trout stream where the channel was recently put back into an old stream bed. How long will it take for insects and crayfish to repopulate this area? I kept missing strikes on a weedless Sneaky Pete. Do you think it was the weed guard, or was it just bluegills pecking at my fly? How do people get their car to the take-out when fishing from a raft?

The original band was formed in 1968 in Los Angeles as The Flying Burrito Brothers. Its classic lineup featured country rock pioneer, the late Gram Parsons, and former founding Byrds members bassist Chris Hillman and drummer Michael Clarke, along with eventual original Eagles member Bernie Leadon on lead guitar and pedal steel guitar genius Sneaky Pete Kleinow. The band's first two albums, The Gilded Palace of Sin (which Rolling Stone listed at number 192 on its list of 500 Greatest Albums of All Time) and Burrito Deluxe, remain highly influential, acclaimed works which helped put country-rock on the map. Because Parsons and Keith Richards were good friends, Burrito Deluxe contains the first issued version of the Mick Jagger/Keith Richards-written song "Wild Horses," released almost a year before the The Rolling Stones own take on it appeared on Sticky Fingers. These days, the band, who formed the current incarnation of the Burritos in 2009, and are now based in Nashville, features Chris P. James on keys and lead vocals, guitarist Steve Allen, Tony Paoletta on pedal steel and drummer Peter Young…all extremely talented musicians who love being involved with the band's legacy and creating new music to keep that legacy alive. Chris, Tony, and Pete have played together since the 1990 starting together in the band Mr. Hyde. They know each other's musical moves every which way possible. This band is tuned in, turned on, upbeat and loaded with great songwriting and musicianship. These guys are truly “brothers.” Steve Allen has got the guitar thing going strong with benders and 12-strings and telecasters and acoustics He also plays. A mean bass. “Smiling” Tony Paoletta is a truly gifted pedal steel player. He's fully versed in the Sneaky Pete oeuvre. And, essentially, every other steel player who came before him. Tony brings unlimited creativity to the table. His admirers are legion. Peter Young is a consummate drummer. The familiarity these fellows have with each other's musicianship is near-perfect. Everything's fine cuz Pete's holdin' down the time. Been doing it a long, long while. In various combinations, these guys have recorded more sessions together than you could count. Pete sings a real nice harmony too. And Chris P. James is their front man. He plays keyboards and guitar and harmonica. Writes songs too. He wound up with the Burrito Brothers in 2009. He was offered a record deal to make a new album in 2010 by the group that would trademark and continue as The Burrito Brothers. Or he could decline. What kind of choice is that? Of course, The Burrito Brothers are alive! And that is definitely a good, good thing. They continue to carry the torch via the Together release, which features superb musicianship, tight ensemble playing, beautiful harmonies and excellent songwriting. The album features 10 new, tracks that continue in the Burrito's longstanding musical tradition while forging ahead in the present and towards the future. Track Listing: 1.Ms Misery / 2. Mr. Customs Man / 3. Together / 4. I Find Love / 5. Let Go / 6. Blood On His Hands / 7. Boiling Point / 8. Streets Of Santa Rosa / 9. I Live For Loving You / 10. History Suite Will James from Gram Parsons International says, ““This latest incarnation is the closest to the original FBB sound of all of the previous bands.” Gram Parsons said it best…The idea'll keep going on. It's not like it's dead or anything. Whether I do it or anybody else does it, it's got to keep going." The son of Canadian TV host Elwy Host, Graham Yost grew up with a love for film, television, and books. “If I told my parents I wanted to be a doctor or lawyer, they would have said, ‘Are you sure you don't want to be a writer?'” Graham's impressive career began with Nickelodeon's ‘Hey Dude' but the movie ‘Speed' changed his life. His credits include Broken Arrow, Hard Rain, Band of Brothers, The Last Castle, Boomtown, The Pacific, Justified, Sneaky Pete, and most recently, Silo. The Apple + series is described as, “Men and women live in a giant silo underground with several regulations which they believe are in place to protect them from the toxic and ruined world on the surface.” In this interview, Graham talks about writing unwitting heroes, how they went about adapting Silo, writing nuclear pilots, the pressure of serving fans of the IP, lessons from Charles Dickens, and how there was no showrunner on Band of Brothers. — Want more? After a total poop show in Florida, the group is back at Pinetucky. The group starts planning the year.
“It really comes down to scene work. Do these characters pop? Is this fun to read? Is it fun to imagine what's going to happen next? When you get to the end of that pilot do you want to find out what's going to happen in the next episode? It's all of that,” says Graham Yost, showrunner for Silo on AppleTV+. You may not know the name Graham Yost, but you certainly know his TV shows: Justified, The Americans, Slow Horses, Sneaky Pete, From the Earth to the Moon, and Band of Brothers just to name a few – he also wrote the blockbuster film Speed in 1994. On today's episode, I chat with Graham about his show Silo on AppleTV+ which is a startling apocalyptic thriller that's been renewed for a second season. It stars Rebecca Ferguson, David Oyelowo, Common and Tim Robbins. We talk about the lessons he learned making Speed, which show impacted his writing the most and if a new season of Justified – that includes Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins), will be coming back to television. Graham also shares his advice for emerging writers. “The big thing I say to writers who are starting out is, ‘What are you working on next?' If they only have that one project, well, you need more. You need to find out what you're good at. That's the job. We're paid to write,” he says.

Two of my favorite shows on TV are Justified, and Sneaky Pete so I can't tell you how excited I am to interview Director Michael Dinner on GIG.There's more to directing than getting to yell … action , or cut.If you look Michael dinner up on IMDB you'll see that his credits cover the entire range of entertainment from Grey's anatomy, to Masters of Sex, and Law and Order to Blacklist.I think this is an important episode for those of you that want a career in film and TV or just want to understand what the heck the director does. Michael Dinner is laid back, so this isn't an episode you'll want to listen to while doing your morning jog. He is also very smart, and loves what he does for a living …Visit GIG with Mike Redman @https://www.gigwithmikeredman.com/podcastsEmail me questions, guests you would like to see @ : gigwithmikeredman@gmail.comThanks for listening !Mike Redman

Steel guitarist and dobro player Al Perkins is on the show today. Al is a true legend of the steel guitar, having played on hundreds of albums, including classics by Manassas, Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris, The Rolling Stones, as well as plenty of modern country hits through recent years. Al grew up playing steel guitar as a little tyke in country bands on radio and TV around his home state of Texas, and eventually moved out to California in the 60's, where he encountered a young Kenny Rogers who brought him in on sessions for rock and country albums. Al was in a band at the time called Shiloh, and between his live work and sessions, his reputation led to him replacing Sneaky Pete in the Flying Burrito Brothers. His playing can be heard on classic albums of the time like GP, Grievous Angel and Exile on Main Street. Al stayed incredibly busy through the 80's and 90's as a session player, and then cropped up on my radar again as Emmylou Harris' dobro player on the incredible Nash Ramblers “At The Ryman” album. It was great to speak with Al about lots of these sessions, as well as hearing about some of the technical innovations he made to the steel guitar, customizing his own instrument as the need arose. You can get info on Al at alperkinsmusic.com - Please enjoy my conversation with Al Perkins!Be sure to listen to the Accompanying Songs Playlist which contains some of the artist's work, plus many of the songs we discuss on the show:Playlist on Spotify / Playlist on Apple MusicIf you enjoyed this episode, please consider supporting the show with a donation or Patreon subscriptionThe show's website can be found at www.makersandshakerspodcast.comYour fearless host, Steve Dawson can be found at www.stevedawson.ca Become a member at https://plus.acast.com/s/mmasspodcast. Dr. Peterson's extensive catalog is available now on DailyWire+: https://utm.io/ueSXh Dr. Jordan B. Peterson and Andrew Schulz discuss the formation of the comedic premise, the necessity and power of play, how self esteem and the internet have helped fuel our modern world and fragmented woke-ness, and why Schulz decided to release his hit special on his own, despite mainstream interest. Andrew Schulz is an American stand up comic, podcast host, actor, and producer. Schulz began his standup journey in college at the University of California, where he also earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. From there he both hosted and appeared on numerous MTV shows such as Guy Code and The Hook Up. In 2015 Schulz starred in the IFC series Benders, and appeared as a recurring character in Amazon's Sneaky Pete up until 2017. That same year, he released his first comedy special, 4:1:1, on Youtube. He followed this up in 2018 with the special 5:1:1 which went on to top the charts on Amazon, iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, and Billboard. He has released multiple comedy EP's, as well as produced and hosted multiple podcasts, such as The Brilliant Idiots which he co-hosts with Charlamagne tha God, and Flagrant 2 which he shares with fellow comics Akaash Singh, Mark Gagnon, and the video editor known as AlexxMedia. Most recently in 2022, Schulz released yet another free-on-Youtube comedy special, Infamous, which he infamously chose not to release on major streaming platforms, despite express interest. —Links— For Andrew Schulz: Twitter: https://twitter.com/andrewschulz?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5EauthorYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/TheAndrewSchulz4:1:1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYvObiM09E45:1:1: https://open.spotify.com/album/6ADcVchw7TBEeANobTDPVQInfamous: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCZkp023MdY - Sponsors - Birch Gold: Text "JORDAN" to 989898 for your no-cost, no-obligation, FREE information kit Black Rifle Coffee:Get 10% off your first order or Coffee Club subscription with code JORDAN: https://www.blackriflecoffee.com/ Hallow:Try Hallow for 3 months FREE: https://hallow.com/jordan — Chapters — (0:00) Coming Up(0:51) Intro(4:00) Saying “no” to the biggest streaming platforms(8:00) Fragmented woke-ness(11:20) Crenshaw, Kanye, the reactionary right(15:00) Andy Ngo, Antifa(17:55) Acting for the right reasons versus self preservation(21:49) The jokes they wanted to cut(24:30) The truth in comedy(27:45) Extreme notoriety accompanies success(30:58) Why Jordan Peterson has leaned conservative(33:15) Self esteem, breaking out, and creativity(39:40) Education, the internet, and echo chambers(43:55) Resentment, discourse, the Daily Wire(47:19) Schulz on Jordan(50:55) Finding community online versus in person(55:10) Hard arguments and the creation of a comedic premise(1:00:45) Curse words are an insight into culture(1:02:22) Frustration over censorship, the choice to go it alone(1:08:14) The power of story, the lens through which we see the world(1:13:31) Why rules are enacted through story(1:15:10) Why Hollywood films are more and more disjointed(1:21:32) Making fun, the power of play(1:25:41) Playing with death, catharsis by fire(1:29:19) The collected poetry of Donald Trump(1:30:42) Scaling your dragons, when tyrants rule(1:33:49) To gaze upon what terrifies us(1:41:26) The spirit of play, hard topics, Judaism(1:45:50) Kanye, genius, and the hierarchy of cool // SUPPORT THIS CHANNEL //Newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/jordanbpeterson.com/youtubesignupDonations: https://jordanbpeterson.com/donate // COURSES //Discovering Personality: https://jordanbpeterson.com/personalitySelf Authoring Suite: https://selfauthoring.comUnderstand Myself (personality test): https://understandmyself.com // BOOKS //Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life: https://jordanbpeterson.com/Beyond-Order12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos: https://jordanbpeterson.com/12-rules-for-lifeMaps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief: https://jordanbpeterson.com/maps-of-meaning // LINKS //Website: https://jordanbpeterson.comEvents: https://jordanbpeterson.com/eventsBlog: https://jordanbpeterson.com/blogPodcast: https://jordanbpeterson.com/podcast // SOCIAL //Twitter: https://twitter.com/jordanbpetersonInstagram: https://instagram.com/jordan.b.petersonFacebook: https://facebook.com/drjordanpetersonTelegram: https://t.me/DrJordanPetersonAll socials: https://linktr.ee/drjordanbpeterson #JordanPeterson #JordanBPeterson #DrJordanPeterson #DrJordanBPeterson #DailyWirePlus
