Richard continues: ‘I’m fortunate enough to have worked with the excellent actor, Sam Barnard, so was delighted when he agreed to play the role of William. When writing the role of Margey I had the voice of June Brown in my head and so asked the producer, Ashley Byrne, “Can we find a June Brown type of actress?”. “How about June Brown?” he replied! I still can’t quite believe that a living legend is playing in a piece I’ve written. They are both brilliant in their respective roles and bring home the frustrations as well as the joys of their characters’ relationship.’Actor Sam Barnard commenting on his part says: "June is such a legend and a hero of mine since I was little. Merry Christmas! Look for Jesus today. He is in the eyes of those around you. And if you open the door to your heart, he's living in you too.

The ordinary shepherds hear the best news of all! They investigate it, and then when they find out it's all true, they share it passionately. As should we.

Most royal births are full of pomp and splendour, with the elite being first to the party. But in the case of Jesus, it was the ordinary, working class shepherds who heard the good news during the world's first flash mob!

Herod thought the king of the Jews would rule with domination! Instead, Jesus came to be a Good Shepherd. Come to the Shepherd today.

We close our look at Joseph by listening to Michael Card's wonderful "Joseph's Song".

Joseph loved Jesus as his own, even though Jesus wasn't his flesh and blood. This love is an example to us! Let us love all those near to us as if they were our own family.

Jesus was full of grace. Perhaps he learned this grace, in some way, from watching how Joseph treated Mary! Christmas is no time to hold grudges. Let's be full of grace and mercy.

Joseph was faithful to God, even at the cost of his own reputation. Let us have the same dedication this Christmas!

We need good men in this world! Men of respect, love, strength and dignity. Men, in other words, like Joseph.

Instead of getting caught in the hype, Mary ponders and treasures the right things about Christmas. Let us follow her example!

Mary doesn't take the glory for herself, but she humble points to God. Jesus does the same later on - did he learn this from her? Let's also point to Him this Christmas.

Unlike other people in the Bible, Mary says "yes!" to God straight away. Let's learn from her today, and be willing servants when God calls us.

Society saw Mary as a "nobody" - but in God's eyes she was highly favoured! If he could use her, he will use you.

Mary must have been a special lady. Do you have a special lady in your life? Maybe a wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, friend etc... How blessed you are if you do.
