They take Grottan hostage while Tawni negotiates with the Empire for her planet to remain independent. But Vice Admiral Rampart has a different plan. With the loyal former Bad Batch member Crosshair cleared for active duty after being rescued from Kamino, Rampart teams him up with Commander Cody to establish Imperial rule on Desix. On the planet Crosshair and Cody make their way battling through all types of droids from battle droids and Droidekas to commando droids and a tactical leader. They find Governor Grottan and Cody convinces Tawni Ames to release him and negotiate terms but Grottan orders them to kill the leader. Commander Cody hesitates but all good clones follow orders and Crosshair puts her down. Back at the Republic military base Cody questions Crosshair on whether they are doing the right thing. Is the Republic bringing safety and security to the galaxy? The next day Vice Admiral Rampart assigns Crosshair to a new mission. It seems that Commander Cody has gone AWOL during the night like an increasing number of troops following Order 66. Hal Hickel is a four time Oscar nominee for Achievement in Visual Effects (including for his work on Rogue One!), winning once for his work on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. He is an animation director at Industrial Light and Magic, is responsible for the movement of the Droidekas, and is currently the animation supervisor for The Mandalorian. Hal was so kind to come on our show and talk about his background in animation, his thoughts on stop-motion and claymation, and his work on our favorite movie. He talks about the creation of K2-SO, the reshoots and post-production challenges, and what it means for a boy from a farm in Colorado to work on and create for Star Wars. Welcome back to the official, the original, the one and only Star Wars Time Show! And yes, we now know that the name of the update is a reference to a line said in The Phantom Menace, but when we talked about it, we were dumb. Big surprise. Next up we discuss how quickly the tickets for Celebration 2020 came and went, and then Matt gives us a breakdown of an awesome Star Wars easter egg in Toy Story 4. Then, we give a quick shout out to the Corridor Crew for putting out an amazing video that breaks down all the good and the bad when it comes to VFX in the prequels, and then we discuss Mark Hamill's feelings on The Rise of Skywalker and how he could be used in the movie.
