This week, Hannah and Barbi kick things off with a surprisingly spirited discussion about gas tanks, including how long they're willing to drive on "empty" and why some people seem to treat refueling as a competitive sport. From there, the conversation turns to something even more exciting: the ways God is moving in the next generation. They talk about the growing number of Gen Alpha kids coming to Christ, encouraging trends among Gen Z, and the incredible story of 2,552 people being baptized through Eleven22.One story in particular stood out. The man who spent the day shuttling people to and from the baptisms ended up becoming the final person baptized himself. Whether it was planned or a spontaneous response to what God was doing, it's a powerful reminder that you never know how God might work through an ordinary day. They also share thoughts on VBS, building relationships, and why loving people well is often the first step toward pointing them to Jesus. It's a shorter episode, but one that's full of encouragement, hope, and reminders that God is still changing lives every day.
What are you really looking for? In Matthew 14:34-16:12, Jesus confronts empty religion and reveals that what our hearts are truly searching for isn't found in rules, traditions or trying harder. It's found in Him. Jesus didn't come to make bad people good or religious people more moral. He came to rescue sinners, transform hearts and invite us into a relationship with God. When we remember His faithfulness and surrender our lives to Him, we discover the freedom, purpose and satisfaction we've been longing for all along. In this episode Rebecca Maxwell interviews Amber Hicks, a friend and kids minister at Church of Eleven22 in Jacksonville, Florida. They dive deep into the philosophy behind gospel-centered kids ministry and partnering with parents in making disciples. Parents are encouraged to focus on setting up practical rhythms for family life (scripture, prayer, worship, memorization), and prioritizing heart-focused parenting over mere behavior management. Amber and Rebecca also address challenges kids face today—screens, social media, and cultural noise—and offer simple, everyday practices to disciple children, share stories of the unique challenges ministry families face, and point listeners to resources and community support for raising faith-filled kids. What might happen if you took one step of obedience and trusted God with the results? In Matthew 14, Pastor Joby Martin walks through the feeding of the 5,000 and reminds us that God can do immeasurably more than we could ever ask, think, or imagine. Through the compassion of Jesus, we see that faith is not about how much we have, but about trusting the One who holds it. This message challenges us to lead with compassion, live with open hands, and take the next step of obedience, trusting that God can multiply what we surrender to Him. When we bring what we have to Jesus, He does what only He can do. Supplemental Resources From This Week: • Sponsor a Compassion Child • One Small Step. In Matthew 14, the lives of John the Baptist and Herod reveal a powerful contrast between fearing God and fearing people. While John remained faithful to God's truth no matter the cost, Herod's compromises and desire for approval led to destruction. This message reminds us that small compromises never stay small, confession is courageous, and Jesus is enough even when life doesn't make sense. Whatever you're carrying today, unanswered prayers, hidden sin, guilt, grief, or disappointment, don't run from Him. Run to Him. Why did so many people miss Jesus when He was standing right in front of them? In Matthew 13, Jesus reminds us that knowing Him is worth more than anything this world can offer. Yet when He returns to His hometown, the people who knew Him best refuse to trust Him. Their familiarity with Jesus blinds them to who He truly is. Do you trust God? Have you recognized Jesus as the greatest treasure, or have the temporary things of this world captured your heart? What happens when evil and good seem to grow side by side in the world? In Matthew 13, Jesus teaches through the parables of the weeds, the mustard seed, and the leaven to reveal what the Kingdom of God is really like. Through these parables, Jesus shows us that God is still at work even when we cannot fully see it. The enemy may sow confusion, pain, and destruction, but God's Kingdom continues to grow steadily, powerfully, and according to His perfect timing. What starts small can transform everything. The Kingdom of God is not built through fear, control, or human effort. It grows through the power and presence of Jesus working in and through His people. Jesus reminds us that judgment belongs to Him, growth belongs to God, and our role is to remain faithful while trusting the harvest is coming. What is the condition of your heart? How is your soil? In Matthew 13, Jesus teaches the Parable of the Sower and challenges us to examine how we receive the Word of God. Some hearts are hard. Some are shallow. Some are divided by the cares of this world. But when the Word of God lands on good soil, it produces real fruit and lasting transformation. Following Jesus is not about religion, emotional highs, or trying harder. Salvation comes by grace through faith in Christ alone. What happens when religion becomes more about rules than relationship? In Matthew 12, Jesus confronts the Pharisees and exposes how legalism can distort the heart of God. Through encounters with the Pharisees, healing on the Sabbath, and powerful teaching about grace, Jesus shows us that religion without Him only leads to pride, shame, and exhaustion. The gospel is not about earning God's love through performance. It's about receiving the mercy and freedom that Jesus already paid for on the cross. Jesus did not come to heap burdens on people. He came to bring rest, healing, freedom, and new life. What do you do when your faith is strong, but your circumstances make you question everything? In this message through Matthew 11, we see even John the Baptist wrestle with doubt while sitting in prison. The same man who boldly declared Jesus as the Messiah begins to ask, “Are you really the one?” This sermon reminds us that doubt doesn't disqualify your faith. It reveals where to bring your questions. The real battle isn't faith vs doubt, it's faith vs fear. And what you choose to trust will shape your life. Jesus doesn't promise an easy life or perfect circumstances. He offers something greater. Himself. Even when life feels confusing, exhausting, or overwhelming, His invitation remains the same. Jesus heals, but He also calls us to go. In this message from Matthew 9 and 10, we see Jesus open blind eyes, heal the hurting, and remind us that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. But the miracle is not the end of the story, it is the beginning of the mission. The same Jesus who rescues us also sends us. The harvest is plentiful, the laborers are few, and faith was never meant to stay comfortable. Following Jesus means moving from being rescued to becoming part of the rescue team. Pray boldly. Jesus didn't come for the perfect. He came for the broken. In Matthew 9:9–13, Jesus calls Matthew, a hated tax collector, and everything changes. This message reminds us that no one is too far gone, no sin is too great, and Jesus is still the friend of sinners. Your past doesn't disqualify you. It's the very place Jesus meets you.
This Easter, we celebrate the greatest miracle of all — forgiveness of sin through Jesus. In Matthew 9, a group of friends does whatever it takes to get a hurting man to Jesus, believing He can change everything. What the man needed most wasn't physical healing — it was forgiveness. Jesus shows us that our greatest need is not self-improvement but a Savior. Because of His life, death and resurrection, we are forgiven, free from shame and made new. There is more grace in Jesus than sin in us. If you have never surrendered your life to Christ, today could be your day. And if you have trusted Him but never been baptized, today is your day to take that step.
Storms are inevitable, but fear doesn't have to be. In Matthew 8, Jesus reminds us that following Him will cost us everything — but He is faithful through it all. Even when life feels uncertain, overwhelming or out of control, we can trust that God is still sovereign and still good. The same Jesus who calmed the wind and the waves is able to bring peace to the storms we face today. God never wastes a hurt.
Do you need a miracle? In Matthew 8, Jesus meets people in their deepest places of need and demonstrates His authority over sickness, brokenness and darkness. Through these encounters, we see that faith is not about having all the answers— it's about trusting the One who does. No matter what you are facing, Jesus invites you to come to Him with humility, bold faith and full surrender. He is still the Great Physician, the Prince of Peace and the One who makes all things new. If the tomb is empty, anything is possible.
In Matthew 7, Jesus brings the Sermon on the Mount to a powerful close by confronting one of the most important questions a person can ask: How do you know if you're saved? This message is a clear call to reject false assurance, religious performance and self-righteousness, and instead put your full trust in Jesus. Salvation is not built on what we do for God, but on what Christ has already done for us. This sermon invites us to stop building on the sinking sand of this world and stand firmly on the unshakable rock of the gospel.
What did Jesus really mean when He said, “Judge not”? In Matthew 7, Jesus confronts the judgmental spirit that so easily takes root in our hearts and calls His followers to something better—a life marked by grace, humility, and discernment. In this message, we explore the difference between being judgmental and exercising biblical discernment, why dealing with the “log” in our own eye matters before pointing out the “speck” in someone else's, and how the grace of God transforms the way we see people. Ultimately, Jesus invites us to stop living as critics and start living as people shaped by grace. Through prayer, humility, and surrender to Christ, we can step off the broad road of pride and onto the narrow way that leads to life.
In this weekend's message, Pastor Joby Martin from The Church of Eleven22 walks us through part of 1 Corinthians 16, cautioning us to be watchful.
In Matthew 6, Jesus warns us to beware of practicing our righteousness to be seen by others, reminding us that with God it's not just what we do—it's why we do it. Giving, praying, and fasting can either be acts of worship or subtle performances for applause, and while we all know we must repent of our wretchedness, Jesus confronts us with the deeper need to repent of religious righteousness rooted in image instead of intimacy. When the Father is our audience, generosity reorders our hearts, prayer becomes communion instead of performance, fasting trains us to say no to our flesh and yes to Jesus, and the true reward isn't recognition—it's Him.

What if your biggest struggle isn't your behavior but your heart? In this message from Matthew 5, Jesus raises the bar from external rule-following to heart-level transformation. Anger, lust, divorce, retaliation, enemy love—He exposes what's underneath it all and shows us that righteousness isn't earned, it's received. The gospel doesn't shame us into trying harder; it gives us a new heart and compels us to live differently because Christ first loved us. Are you trying to justify yourself or are you resting in the justification of Jesus?
When are people watching your life the most? Not when everything is going well—but when you walk through difficulty with a peace that doesn't make sense. In Matthew 5:13–20, Jesus reminds us that we are not just saved by grace—we are sent with purpose. You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world. Our lives should push back darkness and point people to Christ. So the question is: are you shining… or just sitting in the shaker?
Are you pursuing happiness—or the kind of blessing that can't be shaken? In this opening message of Matthew: Mountain to Mountain, Jesus ascends the mountain—not to give a new law, but to announce a blessing that changes everything. Through the Beatitudes, we discover that “blessed” doesn't mean comfortable, successful, or problem-free—it means anchored in the gospel, filled with a joy that circumstances can't steal. Jesus invites us to stop chasing temporary happiness and instead receive the eternal blessing that comes from knowing Him. Are you living your best life—or the blessed life only Jesus can give?
What if following Jesus isn't about learning more—but about leaving what's comfortable? Jesus begins His public ministry not from a place of striving, but from the Father's approval—and then He immediately goes to work. In Matthew 4, we see Jesus fulfill ancient prophecy, bring light into darkness, proclaim that the kingdom of heaven is here now, and call ordinary, unlikely people to join Him on a rescue mission for the world. This message challenges us to stop delaying the kingdom, to embody it by pushing back darkness with light, and to respond to Jesus' simple but costly invitation: “Follow Me.” From fishermen dropping their nets to crowds bringing their brokenness to Jesus, we're reminded that discipleship is not a spectator sport—it's a life of obedience, community, and mission. What might Jesus be asking you to lay down so you can take your next step of obedience?
What if the greatest spiritual battles you face aren't happening around you—but inside your mind? Right after His baptism, Jesus is led into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil—revealing a truth many of us learn the hard way: our deepest valleys often come on the heels of our highest spiritual moments. In Episode 3 of Heaven to Earth, we walk through Matthew 4 and uncover how the enemy works, why temptation doesn't disappear as you grow in Christ, and how Satan's primary strategy has always been the same—attacking your identity with lies. Through Scripture, Jesus shows us how to stand firm, renew our minds, and fight back with truth by declaring, “It is written.” What lies have you been believing—and what would change if you stood on God's truth instead of the whispers?
In this message from Matthew 3, we encounter John the Baptist crying out in the wilderness with a simple but confrontational call: repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. As Jesus steps into the Jordan to be baptized, we see the upside-down nature of God's kingdom on full display—where humility comes before power, obedience before recognition, and identity before performance. From repentance and fruit-bearing faith to sanctification, salvation, and the refining fire of the Holy Spirit, this passage invites us to re-examine how we're doing life and whose way we're truly following. John prepared the way for Jesus' first coming—and now we are called to prepare people for His return. Where might God be asking you to change direction so heaven can break into earth through your life?
What if God never intended His blessings to stop with you—but to move through you to the world? As we begin Season 1: Heaven to Earth and launch our year-long study through the book of Matthew, Vision Weekend sets the vision for how we will live as a church in 2026. From Jesus' announcement that “the kingdom of heaven is at hand” to the Great Commission, Matthew reveals that God's plan has always been to bless His people so that all nations might be blessed. This message reminds us that Jesus didn't just rescue us from sin—He rescued us for His mission. Through the stories of outsiders, ordinary people, and faithful obedience, we are invited to give God a year, trust Him fully, and join Him in bringing the gospel to every neighbor and every nation. The question is simple but costly: What is God telling you to do, and how will you respond?
What if eternity isn't escaping this world—but living in a resurrected one, fully renewed by Jesus? For many of us, our childhood picture of heaven looked more like floating on clouds than living in a place that feels real, physical, and gloriously renewed. But Scripture tells a far better story. In Revelation 21, we're given a vision of where everything is ultimately headed—a new heaven and a new earth where Jesus reigns, peace is complete, perfection is normal, and God Himself dwells personally with His people. In this message, we trace the arc from Christmas to eternity, from the birth of Jesus to His promised return. You'll learn what the Bible actually teaches about heaven, resurrection, and the future God has secured for those who trust in Jesus. No more fear. No more pain. No more distance between us and God. Just full joy, full presence, and full life forever.

What if the most “overlooked” man in the Christmas story is actually one of the most important—and shows us what biblical manhood really looks like? Simeon isn't usually the first name we think of in the Christmas story, but his life gives us one of the clearest pictures of what a real man looks like—righteous, devout, Spirit-filled, hope-driven, Christ-centered, and a blessing to others. As we close out our year of focusing on biblical manhood, we're invited to look deeper: What do we see in Simeon that points us to what a real man truly is? In this week's message, Pastor Adam walks through Luke 2 and shows how Simeon's life wasn't defined by his own strength or status, but by the only One who is the perfect Real Man—Jesus. Because Jesus is the Savior, Salvation Himself, the Revealer of hearts, the Resurrected One, the Strong and Wise God-Man, we can become the men—and women—God calls us to be.
What if the miracle you're searching for this Christmas isn't found in magic, movies, or moments—but in a Person who came on a rescue mission for you? Christmas Eve reminds us of the stories we love—families reunited, wrongs made right, purpose restored. But the real miracle of Christmas isn't nostalgia or sentimentality. It's Jesus: fully God, fully man, the Messiah who came to reconcile us to the Father. In this powerful message, Pastor Joby walks through John 1 and the breathtaking reality of the Word becoming flesh—the God who spoke the universe into existence becoming small enough for us to know. Jesus came lowly and gentle, not with magic but with authority, compassion, and purpose. He thirsted, yet walked on water. He bled, yet healed with a touch. He died, yet rose again—so that we could have peace with God. If you've ever wondered whether God is both big enough to rule the cosmos and personal enough to love you, this message is for you. What would change in your life if you went all-in with Jesus this year?
What does it actually mean to be a man in today's world? In this conversation, Pastor Joby Martin joins Chad Robichaux to confront what they call a growing manhood crisis inside the church and across culture. From biblical masculinity to responsibility, leadership, courage, repentance, and love, this episode challenges the modern caricatures of manhood and calls men back to their God-given role as providers, protectors, servant leaders, and spiritual anchors for their families.Drawing from Scripture, personal stories, and real-world leadership, Joby explains why strength and tenderness are not opposites and why passivity rooted in fear is devastating families and communities. What if the greatest gift of Christmas isn't something you give or receive—but the One you choose to bow down to? The Magi traveled nearly 800 miles on little more than a prophecy and a star, believing that if the promised King had truly come, He was worth seeking at all costs. In Week 3 of Real Men of Christmas, we look at these wise men—not for their crowns or status, but for their posture. While Herod clung tightly to his own throne and the religious leaders stayed comfortable in tradition, the Magi refused to miss Jesus. They followed God's prompting, bowed before the true King, and opened their treasures in extravagant worship. Pastor Joby unpacks why their response still matters today: because every one of us approaches Jesus like Herod, the religious leaders, or the Magi. And the gifts we bring reveal what we believe about Him—our King, our Christ, our Savior. As we celebrate Christmas and partner with Compassion International to love “the least of these,” this message invites us to examine our hearts, our worship, and the direction of our lives. What gift will you bring to Jesus this Christmas—and which direction will He lead you next?
What if the greatest announcement in human history wasn't given to kings, scholars, or warriors—but to ordinary men working the night shift? In Luke 2:8–20, the first people to hear about the birth of Jesus weren't the powerful or prestigious—they were shepherds keeping watch in the dark. In this message, we look at how God used these unnoticed, rugged men to teach us what real strength looks like: staying alert, recognizing our desperate need for a Savior, obeying quickly when God speaks, and returning changed because of an encounter with Jesus. The shepherds didn't just hear the good news—they moved with haste, shared what they had seen, and worshiped with transformed hearts. Their story reminds us that real men don't wait for perfect circumstances… they respond in obedience and lead with courage. How is God calling you to respond this Christmas?
What do you do when God's plan interrupts everything you thought your life would be? Joseph never asked to be at the center of the greatest story ever told—but when God spoke, he listened. In this powerful message, we see how quiet obedience, godly character, and fearless faith positioned Joseph to play a critical role in God's redemptive plan. Through the miracle of Jesus' birth, we're reminded that Christmas isn't about fame, comfort, or applause—it's about faithful surrender to a Savior who came to be God with us. If Joseph trusted God with everything… what is God asking you to trust Him with today?
What if the most life-changing word Jesus ever spoke isn't one we pray, but one we've forgotten how to say? When Jesus called God Abba, He wasn't just using another name—He was revealing the very heart of God. In Week 7 of Stand Firm & Act Like Men, we look at how Jesus' relationship with the Father shapes our own identity as sons and our calling as dads. What would change in your life if you truly knew God as Abba?
What if the love you feel and the love God commands aren't the same thing? Love isn't just a feeling—it's the defining mark of spiritual maturity and the foundation of how men are called to lead. In Week 6 of Stand Firm and Act Like Men, Pastor Joby teaches through 1 Corinthians 13 in its true context: unity, leadership, and the daily life of the Church. Even the greatest gifts, achievements, strengths, or sacrifices mean nothing without love. Biblical love is patient, kind, humble, forgiving, enduring, and self-sacrificing—a far cry from the self-focused “love” most of us default to. Pastor Joby challenges men to look honestly in the mirror, put away childish ways, and leverage their strength not for self-protection or self-gratification but for the good of others. Because love never quits, and we can only love as God commands when we receive the love He first showed us through Jesus.
Pastor Joby Martin from Church of Eleven22 joins us to conclude the “NEXT” series with his sermon, “Tear the Roof Off.” Discover the power of faith and friendship as Pastor Joby explores Mark 2:1-12, where four men overcome obstacles to bring their paralyzed friend to Jesus. Their story teaches us how desperation, boldness, and sacrificial friendship can lead to life-changing encounters with Jesus. Learn what it means to remove obstacles so others can discover and deepen their relationship with Christ. This message will inspire you to be the friend who does whatever it takes to bring others to Jesus and to trust that, with God, anything is possible. Are you willing to love first, love fully, and love sacrificially?

What if strength isn't what you think it is? In Week 4 of Stand Firm and Act Like Men, Pastor Joby Martin shows how Jesus redefines what it means to be strong. Strength isn't measured by status, control, or success—it's revealed in surrender. A strong man is one who rests in Jesus, perseveres through pain, walks humbly under God's authority, and uses his strength to serve others. When we stop striving for worldly greatness and start depending on Christ, we discover that real strength isn't about power—it's about purpose. When you are weak, He is strong. So what would it look like for you to become that kind of man?
We are not called to sit on the sidelines—we are called to stand firm. Week 3 of Stand Firm and Act Like Men calls men to rise up and hold the line—not in their own strength, but in the strength of the Lord. The enemy's mission is clear: to steal, kill, and destroy everything and everyone we love. But God has equipped us with truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, His Word, and prayer—the full armor we need to fight for our families, our marriages, and the next generation. When you stand firm in your faith, you become the gatekeeper of your home and a warrior for God's kingdom. Are you ready to fight for what matters most?
What happens when the defender steps down from the wall? We are at war. Not against flesh and blood—but against an enemy who would love nothing more than to take men out of the fight. In this message, Pastor Joby calls men to be watchful, stand firm in the faith, and act like men as commanded in 1 Corinthians 16:13–14. From pride and worry to laziness, isolation, and lust—the enemy uses every tactic to destroy those called to protect and provide. But even when we fail, the gospel reminds us: failure is not final. God Himself restores, confirms, strengthens, and establishes His sons for the battle ahead. If you've ever felt distracted, defeated, or distant from your calling, this message is a wake-up call to get back on the wall and fight for what matters most—your faith, your family, and your future. Are you watching out, or have you let your guard down?
What happened to godly masculinity? In this powerful kickoff to the Stand Firm and Act Like Men series, Pastor Joby Martin challenges the cultural narrative and calls men back to their God-given purpose. From Genesis to 1 Corinthians 16:13–14, we see that manhood isn't about muscles, money, or machismo — it's about being a prophet, priest, king, provider, and protector. God designed men to work with purpose, obey with courage, and love with sacrifice. But sin has distorted that calling, leading to passivity, confusion, and brokenness. This message is a wake-up call to rise up, reject the lies, and return to the design of the Creator. If you've ever wondered what it really means to be a man of God, this sermon is for you. “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:13–14
