Steve Pellegrino passed away on February 27 from injuries in car accident on his way home from his shop. He was an awesome Bladesmith and a good friend. I thought on this episode I would tell some stories about him and talk about his work. Incredible talent, kind, generous and happy. This unthinkable tragedy has rocked the maker and knifemaking community and frankly even writing this is unbelievable. Josh Smith is a Master Bladesmith that forges custom museum-quality knives using exotic handle materials and precious metals. Jared Thatcher is one of my favorite people. It's been a while since he's been back because his didn't have internet. I believe in my heart that he ran for mayor of his town ,and won just to get internet. It's very possible. Jared is the the Bladesmith of Boothill Blades. He also runs his family farm Three Daughters Farm, with his wife Kylee who also makes beautiful carved wood utensils at Boothill Kitchen. If that wasn't enough, in the last year Jared started training British Labradors and created TDF Kennels and it's amazing to watch the development of these extraordinary dogs and to hear the intense origin of TDF. Jared is someone I look up to because of his preparation, discipline, and belief in the long game. It was a great conversation as always and Jared told awesome stories of being a small town mayor too. Now that he's got Internet he'll definitely be back. Today's guest is Grizzly Forge founder Lucas O'Hara. Lucas is an entrepreneur, blacksmith, bladesmith, and former U.S. Army sniper.
