Does it sometimes feel like no good deed goes unpunished? What if I told you that no scandal, setback, or stumbling block goes unrewarded, if you're willing to take the time to solve the puzzle? As a puzzle-solver programmed to challenge the status quo, ask questions, and lean into her natural curiosity, Kristy Busija (BYOO-SEE-YA) learned both of these lessons when she got fired for doing the right thing.Growing up, Kristy's parents instilled classic values – have a good work ethic, act with integrity, abide by the Golden Rule, and catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. These same values created conflict in her work when she conducted an employee assessment where participants were told their responses would be kept confidential, but her bosses demanded she give them the data anyway. They fired her for – get this – not living the “values” of the company! If that's supposed to be fine, there's a reason why Fine is a 4-Letter Word!In a moment, when you meet Kristy, you'll discover how this set off a journey of learning and self-actualization where she found out, as she says, it's hell in the hallway. All these doors – what rooms do they lead to? What did others see in Kristy through the peepholes in those doors that she couldn't see in herself? How does she solve this puzzle? What's the next conversation? Now hold that thought for just a second as I share a special invitation with you.Kristy's hype song is "Do It Again" by Steven Curtis Chapman.Resources:Kristy Busija's website: https://nextconversationconsulting.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kristybusija/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nextconversationconsulting Claim your copy of “The 2nd Wind”, the anthology that contains Kristy's chapter called “It's Hell In The Hallway”, by visiting https://buy.stripe.com/3cs6rtcga1kIaGcdR7. Invitation from Lori:This episode is sponsored by Zen Rabbit. Smart business leaders know trust is the foundation of every great workplace. And in today's hybrid and fast-moving work culture, trust isn't built in quarterly town halls or the occasional Slack message. It's built through consistent, clear, and HUMAN communication. Companies and leaders TALK about the importance of connection and community. And it's easy to believe your organization is doing a great job of maintaining an awesome corporate culture. Because there are… Annual all-hands meetings where once a year you hear a well-rehearsed speech, employees clap politely, and everyone leaves with the same unanswered questions they came in with."Open door policies" that no one ever uses because people are uncomfortable walking in to talk with someone they don't feel like they know very well. "Fun" team-building events like escape rooms, trust falls, and awkward, out of fashion happy hours Generic "we appreciate everything you do" emails with zero personalization or sincerity.Company values posted on a wall with no substance behind them. But let's be real. Leaders who are serious about building real trust are finding better ways to...Strengthen culture by sharing authentic stories from leadership and employees.Create connection so that remote and in-office teams know and understand each...

Emily Chapman Richards, daughter of Christian music artist Steven Curtis Chapman and current Advisor and Ambassador of Show Hope joins this episode.  Emily shares her journey as a biological sibling in this adoption story that began when she was inspired at just 11 years old. After a trip to Haiti, Emily became the catalyst for her family's decision to begin to pray about adoption which led to bringing home three sisters from China. April Fallon, the host of ADOPTION NOW asks how Emily's parents prepared their biological siblings for such a life changing event? What responsibilities would she and her siblings have? They family worked together as they expanded. She opens up about the joy they experienced and also how her family went through a devasting loss after their third adoption. The Chapman family held on to each other as they went through grief and continued to press forward to help other families. Today, Emily carries forward her family's legacy through Show Hope, the organization her parents founded that has helped over 9,000 children find forever families from around the world. Emily's passion shines through as she shares her heart for viewing adoption not as an obligation but as an invitation to experience love in a profound way.  Whether you're just beginning to explore adoption or maybe you are experiencing grief in the process, this conversation offers heartfelt encouragement and direction for your own adoption journey.

Jason Lovins - Pilgrim Road -Episode 570 - Voices In My Head (The Rick Lee James Podcast)     JASON LOVINS BAND CELEBRATES 20TH ANNIVERSARY WITH PILGRIM ROAD   NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Celebrating two decades of music and ministry in 2025, the Jason Lovins Band is poised to commemorate the milestone year with Pilgrim Road (New Day Digital Distribution), out January 17. Featuring 11 tracks produced by the Kentucky-based group and showcasing their signature sound—a unique tapestry of gospel, country and pop influences—Pilgrim Road is hallmarked by guest appearances from bluegrass hitmakers Chosen Road and longtime NewSong frontman and acclaimed singer/songwriter Russ Lee. The title cut, a modern hymn written by Noah Baker and Jason Lovins, encapsulates the album's theme as well as the overarching mission of the Jason Lovins Band. “Not only does ‘Pilgrim Road' capture the heart of what we want to say with this record—sharing the Gospel and reflecting on the journey from Genesis to Revelation—but naming the album Pilgrim Road felt right as we look back on 20 years together and see God's faithfulness every step of the way," says Lovins. "Even after all this time, it feels like we're just getting started, and we're excited for the road ahead.” Further highlights of Pilgrim Road include the project's latest single, “Hide My Soul,” a joyful worship anthem penned by Daniel Doss, Emma Feldman, Jonathan Jackson and Jonathan Turner, along with the band's two guest collaborations: a bluesy bluegrass take on the 1890 Gospel classic “Life's Railway To Heaven” featuring Chosen Road, and the impassioned pop anthem “Constant” with vocal contributions from Russ Lee. In addition, Pilgrim Road continues the Jason Lovins Band's longstanding tradition of showcasing a Spanish-language selection on each album. “En La Cruz,” a rendition of the beloved hymn “At The Cross,” is a nod to group member Rodney Mora's heritage and serves as a poignant reminder of the Gospel's power to transcend languages and cultures. “Our pianist Rodney Mora was born and raised in Venezuela and grew up in a Christian home, which is not the norm there,” explains Lovins. “I remember the first time we sang a song together, me in English and Rodney in Spanish, it really opened my eyes to just how big God is. He has no barriers, and He understands and hears us both.” “Hymns have shaped our lives and faith, and we feel blessed to carry them forward,” Lovins adds. “I grew up surrounded by these songs that have stood the test of time and tell great stories of the faith. Hymns have a way of bridging and connecting generations, so we want to keep putting our own twist on them.” ABOUT THE JASON LOVINS BAND   With a unique fusion of country, gospel and worship styles anchored in Jason Lovins' Appalachian heritage, the Jason Lovins Band has been delivering modern arrangements of sacred hymns alongside their own acclaimed originals since 2005. Lovins' personal testimony propels the band's mission and purpose, and they have released 11 full-length recordings to date, including the three-volume Songs From Sunday series and two Christmas projects. Helmed by Lovins and comprised of members Rodney Mora, Aaron Crozier and Jonathan Nicholson, the Jason Lovins Band has opened for Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Crowder and Point of Grace, among others. In addition, the group has appeared at Billy Graham Crusades and multiple Southern Baptist state conventions, and they perform at numerous churches and conferences around the country each year. Jason Lovins' life is a testament to the faithfulness of God—the only Father he has ever known. Born in Huntington, West Virginia, to a 15-year-old girl who was assaulted and impregnated by a stranger as she walked home from the community swimming pool, Lovins was raised by his mother and grandmother in a devout household of faith. As a child he traveled throughout Appalachia with his grandmother's Gospel singing group, but it was his first encounter with contemporary Christian music as a teenager that changed the trajectory of his life. Immediately captivated by the modern worship he heard at a youth group meeting, Lovins was inspired to embark on a lifelong mission of ministry-driven music. Early in his career, while performing with his college band in a local church, Lovins felt compelled to tell his birth story for the first time on stage. Deeply moved by his testimony, the church's pastor made Lovins promise he would continue to share the pivotal account each time he performed. Since that day, Lovins' testimony has been a cornerstone of the Jason Lovins Band's ministry platform. For further information, visit jasonlovins.com or turningpointpr.com. In this heartfelt episode of the podcast, host Wisdom Moon sits down with artist and songwriter Natalie Layne for an authentic conversation about faith, artistry, and finding peace in the creative process. Natalie shares profound insights about trusting God's timing in the music industry, moving away from the common cycle of desperation and extreme highs and lows that many artists experience. Throughout the conversation, Natalie's infectious enthusiasm and deep faith illuminate how finding true joy in artistry comes not from striving, but from resting in God's perfect timing. Currently residing in Nashville, Natalie's latest independent single "Amen" has gained millions of views on Instagram (where she has 328k followers) and TikTok (where she has over 233k followers) and 3 million likes on her videos. The single follows her 2021 Castles EP that garnered attention worldwide. The music led to opening concerts for Jeremy Camp, Chris Tomlin and We the Kingdom, and sharing stages with Steven Curtis Chapman, Mandisa and Crowder. Playing in several Nashville-based R&B and jazz bands, Natalie graduated with a Master's Degree in Commercial Piano from Belmont University. Writing and producing her own music, she most recently finished 2 major U.S. tours with Danny Gokey, Austin French, Brandon Heath, and Josh Wilson. She began leading worship at the age of 12, alongside worship pastors such as Cory Asbury, Jon Egan and Jared Anderson. In December 2022, Natalie signed an exclusive recording and publishing contract with Centricity Music. Her label debut the, "Amen" EP, has amassed nationwide radio adds, reached #5 on Independent Christian Radio Charts, and broke the top 30 on Billboard charts. From the EP, an exclusive live performance of her song "Grateful For" was just featured by the Recording Academy/GRAMMY's for their segment Positive Vibes Only. Through an unexpected journey, Wes Hampton landed the spot of “tenor voice” for the GVB in 2005 and is currently the longest-tenured voice in the group, other than Bill Gaither himself.

Music has always been a major part of Eric Horner's life. Born and raised in Paducah KY, he grew up with a guitar in his hands playing and singing Gospel music all over Western KY, Southern IL and Southeast MO. Eric's first big musical influence was a young man by the name of Steven Curtis Chapman. The two met when Steven became Eric's first guitar teacher in the 6th grade. Learning the “Chapman Method” of guitar playing prepared Eric well for what the Lord had in store down the road.Eric moved to Nashville TN at the age of 19 to pursue his dream of becoming a professional songwriter and musician. It didn't take long for the doors to open and over the next 17 years Eric toured the world playing with such artists as Lee Greenwood, Shania Twain, Wynonna Judd and Brad Paisley. In 2002, all of that changed. Eric began to feel a call on his life to return to his Gospel music roots and to use his talents for a higher purpose. Thanks to our sponsors. Scriptural truths overflow out of her heart, and she remains on a path to go deeper and deeper. Both Mixtape Theology, the podcast, and Mixtape Theology, the book, are part devotional and part 90s retrospective. Similar to how More Than a Song explores contemporary Christian music, they explore the Bible verses behind their favorite 90s CCM songs, resulting in a fuller understanding of God and His redemptive plan.Memorable MentionsSnackable Theology by Andrew DoaneRachel discusses one of the motivating factors that keeps her in the Word: her God-given assignment to disciple her kids. It also includes 12 often humorous retrospectives that harness nostalgia to motivate readers to keep reading and studying—AND other fun comics and surprises for you to enjoy as you read.Savior by Steven Curtis ChapmanRachel talks about how Steven Curtis Chapman's song "Savior" led her to Scripture and deeper theology.
