For the first time in seventeen years, the European Gas Conference was cancelled—or, at least, postponed. However, this did not stop CEO from travelling all the way to Vienna to meet with climate activists and campaigners at the People's Summit, the counter-summit of the Gas Conference. This episode was recorded live in the capital city of Austria. Marcella Via spoke with CEO's researchers and campaigners Pascoe Sabido and Belén Balayá about their views on the People's Summit and the relevance of the work of the Fossil Free Politics coalition in this framework. You will also hear the voices of the front line. During the People's Summit, we've asked our allies from Corpus Christi, Texas, and Don't Gas Africa to send a message to the organisers of the European Gas Conference. We closed the episode sending our special message to the polluters as well. Tune in, and enjoy the listening! WHO WE AREThis podcast is produced by CEO and Counter Balance.

In case you think blockchain technology is losing its appeal to oil and gas, think again. It's not lost on anyone in oil and gas that the industry is under very strong pressures for change. Blockchain in oil and gas is a bit like Tesla in the auto industry—not getting the attention it deserves, and soon it will be all too late. Duration: 13m 26s
In the latest installment of the S&P Global Platts Commodities Focus podcast, Harry Weber, a Platts senior natural gas writer in Houston, is joined by Dania El Saadi and Claudia Carpenter in Dubai. Dania is a Platts senior editor, Middle East news, and Claudia is Platts editorial lead, Middle East crude. They discuss the recently completed Gastech, the biggest in-person gathering of gas market participants since the coronavirus pandemic erupted almost two years ago. While there were nibbles around the edges of the market, the conference did not produce any major firm long-term offtake agreements that might help developers sanction a new liquefaction or regasification project. The attendees shared their outlooks, ideas for controlling fossil fuel emissions, technical innovations for cutting project costs, and thoughts about geopolitical and regulatory opportunities and challenges facing the industry.
This is a stunningly big week for energy networking. In Denver, EnerCom is hosting The Oil and Gas Conference at the Westin and in Houston, the NAPE Summit is taking place at the George R. Brown Convention Center, and the Offshore Technology Conference is happening at NRG. Holding conferences the same week in Houston, NAPE and OTC have joined forces with their "Synergy in Energy" program which allows attendees to visit both conferences. We salute EnerCom, NAPE, and OTC for their efforts to help us all have a chance to shake hands again. We took a trip to the NAPE exhibition hall to see the pregame action live and had the chance to visit with Aaron Vandeford, President of EnerCom as well as Jennifer Palladina Taylor, Business Development Manager at NAPE to hear all about these two flagship conferences. We covered a number of topics in our discussion starting with some history about the two conferences, the types of attendees and investors they are drawing and how that has changed, how their themes have morphed in the past few years, and overall how excited they are to be in person again. Thanks to Aaron and Jennifer for taking time out of their busiest week of the year to visit with us. We had a great conversation! We started the session with the TPH team: Mike Bradley shared an update on the oil market, the Delta virus overhang, and current stock trading levels. Colin Fenton took us to the future with new fusion energy technology from the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory and also put the spotlight on two recent "letter writing campaigns" coming out of Washington DC.It's a huge week for pressing ahead and also continuing to be careful. One of the great things you will hear in today's segment is that at NAPE they have set up a vaccination station sponsored by the good folks at Kroger.----------Copyright 2021, Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. We had the opportunity to sit down with Bernadette Johnson, Vice President, Strategic Analytics to talk about their report "Midstream: Financial and Regulatory Update". Our interview covered some of the most concerning issues currently around Midstream. Let's see: Bankruptcies, M&A, Capital Raises, Dakota Access Pipeline, and the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. "There were no trends in Q2 bankruptcies that related to region or gatherer, but there will be undoubtedly be many stakeholders and regions impacted as bankruptcies continue." Well the good news is that there is no individual region that is singled out, the bad news is that everyone is still in the game for bankruptcies. The regulatory discussion points were very timely with all of the political activity. Thank you for stopping by Bernadette! As always we are thrilled to hear your insights, and Michael still thinks your a rock star. *Bernadette also just recently had a fantastic presentation at The Oil & Gas Conference earlier this month.
