Isaiah Likely also showed why he could become an important answer for Dart on third downs and broken plays.Matt Nagy's first preseason offense gave us hints of what the Giants are building: more under-center football, heavier personnel and an emphasis on creating a physical running identity. Cam Skattebo returned with four carries for 19 yards, Devin Singletary broke a 40-yard screen and Tracy's protection mistake became one of the game's biggest teaching moments.Odell Beckham Jr.'s return to MetLife brought plenty of nostalgia, but the real debate is whether he can win the roster math. His two catches for six yards don't capture every rep where he created separation, and his willingness to block and mentor Fields adds value. But Berrios and Fields provide special-teams options that Beckham historically has not, making his offensive ranking inside the receiver room especially important.Defensively, Jack Kelly, Arvell Reese, Darius Alexander and Chauncey Golston gave the Giants some encouraging young-player tape. The larger concern was the depth behind them. With D.J. Reader, Shelby Harris and several veteran defensive backs sitting, Minnesota found too much room against the reserve defensive tackles and cornerbacks. Deonte Banks had penalties that deserve attention, but his night was more nuanced than simply saying he was beaten repeatedly.The QB3 conversation also changed. Jameis Winston looked exactly like the steady veteran backup the Giants signed him to be, while Brandon Allen threw two interceptions and helped stall the second-half offense.
