Send us a textIn this live episode of 2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates, hosts Drew and Rob dive deep into the hottest topics surrounding the New York Giants, starting with a major question that's igniting debate among Giants fans and NFL insiders alike — should the Giants finally trade Evan Neal? With Neal now entering a make-or-break year and shifting to left guard, questions about his future in New York are more relevant than ever. Giants news today circles around how the team will handle their former first-round pick and whether his struggles at tackle could open the door to a trade before the 2025 season kicks off.The conversation doesn't stop there. We react to Gary Davenport's bold take from Bleacher Report, evaluating whether Big Blue could also entertain trade inquiries for Kayvon Thibodeaux — and why Brian Burns, Abdul Carter, and Thibodeaux might make up one of the deepest EDGE rooms in football. Then we analyze Gridiron Graded's 25-year team draft rankings and discuss what it really means that the New York Giants landed in the top 10 — despite a win percentage near the bottom of the league. Do high draft capital investments and hits like Carter, Thomas, and Nabers outweigh whiffs like Toney and possibly Neal?We also examine 33rd Team's latest salary cap data, spotlighting the Giants' expensive offensive line, which ranks third in the NFL at nearly $70 million. Is this money well spent, or does it only highlight the O-line's inconsistency over the last few seasons?Later in the show, we discuss whether the Giants should look across town and target Jets guard Alijah Vera-Tucker as a possible trade acquisition. After a healthy and productive 2024, could Vera-Tucker bring long-term stability to the Giants' interior line?Drew and Rob also take a break from the trenches to talk safeties, reviewing PFF's latest rankings that include former Giants Julian Love, Jabrill Peppers, and Xavier McKinney — with McKinney shockingly placed at #2 league-wide.Finally, we dive into Phil Simms' passionate comments about rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart on the “Up & Adams Show.” Simms defends the value of playing Dart this season, praises his underrated mobility, and lays out why the Giants could be more competitive than expected before deciding when to give the rookie the reins. If you're looking for the most detailed, opinionated, and passionate breakdown of all things Giants — from the latest NY Giants news and rumors to deep dives on draft history, positional spending, and trade speculation — this episode delivers.#nygiants #newyorkgiants #giantsnews #giantsrumors #nygiantspodcastSupport the showAll Episodes are shot LIVE with fan interactions on Youtube, Facebook, X, & Twitch. Send us a textThe New York Giants are making headlines again, and in this segment of "2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates," Drew and Rob break down some of the biggest developments shaping the future of Big Blue. The Giants cleared over $10 million in cap space by restructuring star pass rusher Brian Burns' contract, allowing them to finalize the signing of rookie linebacker Abdul Carter. According to Field Yates, Carter and Burns are now poised to become a nightmare duo for opposing quarterbacks in the NFC. Carter inked a four-year, fully guaranteed $45.3 million deal that includes a jaw-dropping $29.5 million signing bonus — solidifying his role as a cornerstone of the Giants' defense. There's even more good news for fans of the Giants. Rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers continues to impress before even taking a regular-season snap. PFF named Nabers to their list of the top 25 players under the age of 25, calling him the most valuable player on the Giants' roster. Nabers dominated the 2024 rookie WR class in both receiving grade and targets and ranked in the top 10 in PFF WAR for the year. It's clear the Giants found a potential superstar.Meanwhile, rookie running back Cam Skattebo revealed on Kay Adams' show that he'll be wearing No. 44 as a tribute to his brother, explaining the family meaning behind his jersey choice. Skattebo is also gaining traction as a potential sleeper pick in the Giants' backfield. Analysts like Scott DiBenedetto believe the Giants may have found another fifth-round gem, comparing Skattebo's toughness and versatility to last year's breakout star Tyrone Tracy. In other key updates, offensive lineman Evan Neal has officially been moved to guard, as confirmed by Paul Schwartz of the New York Post. Giants legend Shawn O'Hara believes the switch could be the key to unlocking Neal's potential, as the former first-round pick looks to revitalize his career and solidify the interior of the Giants' offensive line. Also discussed in this clip: rookie defensive back Dru Phillips undergoes LASIK eye surgery in preparation for the season. It's yet another sign that the Giants' young core is focused, hungry, and ready to prove something in 2025. Send us a textIn this in-depth episode of 2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates, hosts Drew and Rob dive into the full offensive roster of the New York Giants following the 2025 NFL Draft and a busy offseason of free agency. From revamped quarterback depth to an infusion of talent at wide receiver and tight end, the Giants offense has undergone a major overhaul that fans won't want to miss. This complete breakdown covers every offensive position group, examining which players are likely to make the 53-man roster, where key battles are brewing, and who might emerge as breakout stars in 2025.Starting with the quarterback room, the Giants have added veteran leadership and developmental upside. Russell Wilson leads the pack, with Jameis Winston providing experienced backup support, while Jaxson Dart and Tommy DeVito give the team developmental youth and preseason intrigue. It's a four-man group that offers a compelling mix of proven production and raw potential. At running back, the competition is just as intense. Rookie Tyrone Tracy Jr. brings a versatile skill set and explosiveness, while veteran Devin Singletary figures to be the early favorite for lead duties. Behind them, Cam Skattebo, Eric Gray, and Dante Miller round out a crowded backfield with a mix of power, agility, and special teams upside. The Giants are clearly aiming for depth and flexibility in a position that has seen high turnover in recent seasons. The wide receiver group might be the most exciting position on offense, anchored by first-round pick Malik Nabers. Nabers is expected to be a game-changer for the NY Giants, giving them the kind of WR1 threat they've lacked in years. He joins a solid cast including Wan'Dale Robinson, deep threat Darius Slayton, second-year speedster Jalin Hyatt, and experienced role players like Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Zach Pascal. Special teams contributors Ihmir Smith-Marsette and Montrell Washington, along with big-bodied receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton, add further depth and intrigue to the competition.Tight end is another spot that has quietly gotten stronger. Returning starter Daniel Bellinger now shares the room with rookie athletic freak Theo Johnson, veteran blocker Chris Manhertz, Greg Dulcich—who brings pass-catching upside—and developmental prospect Thomas Fidone II. Whether it's in two-TE sets or in red zone formations, the Giants have more options than ever to create mismatches. On the offensive line, left tackle Andrew Thomas continues to be the cornerstone, now joined by Jermaine Eluemunor and James Hudson III, who bring experience and versatility. Rookie Stone Forsythe and swing lineman Joshua Ezeudu round out a deep tackle group. Inside, the guard spots have been upgraded with the additions of John Runyan and Greg Van Roten, while Aaron Stinnie, Evan Neal (transitioning inside), Marcus Mbow, and Jake Kubas provide a mix of veteran presence and youthful promise. At center, John Michael Schmitz is locked in as the starter with Austin Schlottman, Jimmy Morrissey, and Bryan Hudson offering depth and competition behind him. This full offensive breakdown gives New York Giants fans the clearest look yet at what the team is building for the 2025 season. Breaking down the Giants moving OL Evan Neal to guard.
It's time for our annual NFL Draft preview! In this college football podcast episode, we welcome back Nate Tice of Yahoo Sports for an in-depth look at this year's class. Can Cam Ward's "jazz player" style translate to the pros? Where do Shedeur Sanders and Riley Leonard fit in this QB class? What trends are emerging while evaluating college tape? Who are Nate's pet players, and who are the "Purple Chips" in this year's Draft. Plus, Ty looks for advice for the New York Giants and Dan debuts "The Shania Line."
Send us a textThe New York Giants' offseason plans might be shifting in a surprising direction. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Giants are starting to look elsewhere with their No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. With growing speculation that they have their sights set on an elite non-QB prospect. Meanwhile, ESPN has floated the idea of the Giants trading down from No. 3. A proposed trade with the Carolina Panthers would send the No. 3 pick and a 2026 fifth-rounder to Carolina in exchange for the No. 8 pick, a second-round pick this year (No. 57), and a 2026 second-round pick. This trade scenario becomes even more interesting if Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders are already off the board by the time the Giants pick, suggesting the team may prioritize adding multiple assets instead of taking a quarterback early. In roster news, the Giants have re-signed linebacker Ty Summers. At 6'1" and 241 pounds, the 29-year-old played in all 16 games last season, recording 29 tackles, one tackle for loss, and one pass deflection. His PFF grades were mixed, with a strong 78.3 run defense grade but weaker marks in coverage and pass rushing. Summers played 112 defensive snaps and was a key contributor on special teams with 272 snaps. Evan Neal's future along the Giants' offensive line remains uncertain, but GM Joe Schoen revealed that Neal is now open to the idea of moving to guard. This is a stark contrast from his strong stance in 2023 when he insisted he was an offensive tackle from birth. While Schoen did not commit to a positional switch, he emphasized that Neal is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team. Another looming decision for the Giants revolves around play-calling duties. Head coach Brian Daboll has not yet determined whether he will continue calling plays in 2024. NY Post's Paul Schwartz reported that Daboll plans to evaluate the situation through spring and summer before making a final call. Co-owner John Mara previously questioned whether Daboll should relinquish play-calling duties, stating that while he wouldn't demand a change, it's a discussion that will continue. Ultimately, the choice remains in Daboll's hands, and it could have a major impact on the Giants' offensive performance next season. The Giants also have several former players currently competing in the UFL, which kicked off its season on Friday. The Arlington Renegades feature former Giants S Joe Powell and LB Tuzar Skipper. The Birmingham Stallions have multiple ex-Giants, including LB Tae Crowder and QB Case Cookus, while the D.C. Defenders boast former first-round CB Deandre Baker. Other familiar faces like Corn Elder, Deon Jackson, Quincy Roche, and Jashaun Corbin are also in the league, along with former Giants coaches like Mike Nolan and Marc Colombo. With the NFL Draft approaching, trade rumors swirling, and key roster decisions still to be made, the Giants are entering a pivotal stretch. Will they surprise everyone by passing on a quarterback at No. 3? Will Evan Neal shift to guard? And will Brian Daboll hold onto play-calling duties? Send us a textDrew and Rob dive into the latest New York Giants news and rumors, covering everything from potential trades to quarterback speculation and key offseason decisions. Bleacher Report stirred up conversation with a hypothetical trade involving Geno Smith, Jermaine Eluemunor, and a swap of first-round picks. The deal suggests the Giants may not have the patience to develop a rookie quarterback and could look for a veteran who can help them win immediately. Would Geno be the right fit for Brian Daboll's offense, or should the Giants focus on young talent? Travis Hunter's name is being linked to the Giants in mock drafts, with Victor Cruz endorsing the idea of adding the dynamic two-way star. But could the Giants really pass on a top quarterback prospect like Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward? Malik Nabers weighed in on the quarterback debate, expressing his desire to have a veteran in the room to help mentor a potential rookie. He also shared his thoughts on both Ward and Sanders, praising their leadership, arm talent, and playmaking ability. #giants #nygiants #nflSaquon Barkley made headlines by telling Jameis Winston to consider signing with the Giants in free agency. Winston responded enthusiastically, expressing admiration for Brian Daboll and a belief that the Giants have a young, hungry roster ready to win. Could Winston be a bridge QB option while the Giants develop a rookie? On the defensive side, the team faces a major decision with Kayvon Thibodeaux's fifth-year option. While his sack numbers have fluctuated, advanced metrics still favor his impact as a pass rusher. Meanwhile, Evan Neal's struggles make his fifth-year option an easy decline. The Giants also have to address Bryce Ford-Wheaton's offseason surgery and what it means for their depth at wide receiver and special teams. Mason Crosby, who briefly played for the Giants in 2023, officially announced his retirement after a 17-year NFL career. His time with Big Blue was short, but he remains a legendary kicker from his years with the Packers. Off the field, Darius Slayton won the 2025 Alan Page Community Award, recognized for his dedication to giving back to the community. His impact off the field has been just as important as his contributions on it. And finally, Cam Newton made waves by declaring Shedeur Sanders would be a perfect fit for the Giants, emphasizing his leadership, talent, and ability to thrive under the bright lights of New York. With the draft approaching, could the Giants land Sanders and finally find their franchise quarterback? Jones may be remembered for struggles on the field, but this move cements his reputation as a class act off it. The episode also unpacks a curious moment from the Falcons game, where Assistant GM Brandon Brown was spotted on the sideline, engaging with QBs Tommy DeVito and Tim Boyle. Daboll explained the situation, claiming it was due to logistical reasons during road games, but the unusual sight raised eyebrows and fueled speculation. Drew and Rob question why the Giants haven't experimented with moving Evan Neal to guard, a position that might better suit his skill set given the challenges he's faced at tackle. With little to lose at this point in the season, this remains a puzzling decision. The episode wraps with a recap of Week 16 NFL action, including thrilling games like the Eagles' narrow loss to the Commanders and the Lions' dominant win over the Bears. The upcoming Christmas slate is previewed, with matchups like Chiefs vs. Steelers and Ravens vs. Texans offering fans a holiday treat. Gio said that's all he thinks about when he hears his name now. Hour 2 We talked about the Jets postgame show that's on SNY with Willie Colon and Bart Scott. A caller wants Willie to become an offensive line coach. Gio said Zach Wilson's pro-day is the one day that set the Jets back the most. Jerry returns for another update and starts with the sounds of Jameis Winston being hyped before the game into a 75 yard pick-6. One of two on the night. He did throw 4 TDs and threw for 497 yards. He asked the lord to deliver him for pick sixes. Shannon Sharpe made Ochocinco cry when saying bad things about the Bengals. Jeff Ulbrich seemed to leave the door open for benching Rodgers. The only way for the Jets and Giants to get out of the hell they are in, is to draft the right quarterback and to have the right head coach in place. Will John Mara really bring back Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll if this ends up being one of the worst seasons in franchise history? Jerry returns for an update and starts with Jeff Ulbrich after the loss to Seattle. He's looking at the tape if you want to know. ‘Not as of Today' is how he responded when asked if there will be a quarterback change. Josh Allen accounted for 3 TDs in last night's win over the Niners. They clinched the AFC East on December 1st. We heard from Lamar Jackson after losing to the Eagles. Send us a textIn this intense segment from "2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates," hosts Drew and Rob dive deep into recent bold claims made by Rich Eisen and Adam Schefter on the state of the New York Giants, featuring insights from other NFL insiders on Brian Daboll, Daniel Jones, and the future of the Giants organization. Rich Eisen brings a passionate perspective on Brian Daboll's play-calling, highlighting how Daboll's schemes are putting players in positions to succeed — players are getting open, but Daniel Jones isn't delivering. Eisen points to moments like the missed connection with Malik Nabers on a key third down, noting that Daboll's frustration was visible on the field. Eisen underscores that Daboll's skill as a play-caller and his background under Nick Saban and Bill Belichick make him the kind of head coach New York needs, yet the disconnect with Jones is clear. Adam Schefter's view brings a dramatic twist, suggesting the Giants might be done with Jones altogether. According to Schefter, Daboll's recent tone has shifted, no longer showing unwavering support for Jones as the starter. Schefter speculates that this change, coupled with the high injury risk associated with Jones' contract, could signal the end of Jones' time in New York. As the Giants look to the future, Schefter's statements amplify the uncertainty surrounding Jones, with the injury guarantee looming large over the organization's decisions. Meanwhile, former Giants defensive lineman and Super Bowl champion Chris Canty doesn't mince words, urging the Giants to consider a complete rebuild. Canty argues that with Daboll and GM Joe Schoen facing increased scrutiny, it might be time for the Giants to hold the leadership accountable. He contends that if the Giants can't replicate the success they found last season with Jones, then it's not only Jones but the front office and coaching staff that need to answer for the disappointing performance.Drew and Rob also discuss potential upgrades on the offensive line, with Tyre Phillips ready to return from injury and bolster the Giants' tackle position. Insider Jordan Schultz reports that Phillips is in top shape and drawing interest across the league. Given the Giants' current struggles on the line, particularly with injuries to Andrew Thomas and the performance issues from Evan Neal, Phillips could bring stability, but the Giants may need to act fast if he's courted by other teams. This intense segment captures the friction within the Giants organization and the challenging decisions ahead. With new updates, rumors, and expert takes, Drew and Rob provide fans with a comprehensive look at the drama unfolding in the Giants' camp and the pivotal moments that may define the season.#giants #nygiants #giants100Support the showAll Episodes are shot LIVE with fan interactions on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, & TwitchSponsor the show at: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/2giantgoofballsInterested in starting a podcast. Then the Guardians came back to tie it in the ninth and win it in the tenth and we heard the call from Guardians radio. Gio is feeling a 24-20 Giants win. Boomer said the Eagles defense only has 2 turnovers, the lowest in the NFL. If the Giants can keep that going they can win this game. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the TBS TV call of the Judge HR that tied the game at 3. And then Stanton went back to back. We also heard the TBS call when Noel tied the game in the ninth with a HR and Fry homered for the win. We heard from Mets radio as Mookie Betts had a 2-run double and a HR. Ben Roethlisberger doesn't like that idea and supposedly the guys in the locker room want Justin Fields as well. No matter where he goes, Russell Wilson doesn't seem to be popular in the locker room. Gio called him a douche and impossible to like. Gio said Aaron Rodgers is one hit away from getting hit and going back to Costa Rica. Especially against the Steelers defense. Hour 4 Glass half full: We need one more magical night from the Mets at Citi Field. David Peterson is on the mound tonight so we should be thinking positively.
