Have you heard of the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV? Sounds great, however, this isn't a review about that game - but rather a different fantasy from Yoshi-P and the team that brought you it. That's right - your Save Room boys are back and we're doing a deep dive review on the Final Fantasy XVI. The latest entry in the 37 year franchise from Yoshi-P and CBUIII has spurned many debates: is it a real Final Fantasy; is the writing and portrayal of women good; does Clive fuck? It will be a contentious title but we find plenty to love between the bombastic cinematics and fights, deep character work, story, and DMC-style action combat. Unfortunately though, you can't take the MMO out of Yoshi-P, so there are side quests and pacing issues we found abound as a result. Welcome to our latest project at Axe of the Blood God: Sharlayan Dropouts! In this new monthly podcast, Nadia Oxford and a rotating selection of guests will talk about all things Final Fantasy XIV — a perfect companion for the upcoming Endwalker expansion! In our first episode, the land of Eorzea fell into fiery ruin when the enraged Primal Bahamut "hatched" from the moon of Dalamud and tore the realm asunder. Then it got better. There's still much work to be done, but Nadia, Mike Williams, and Victor Hunter are content to let Sharlayan's eggheads do the heavy lifting. They're fine with slumming around campus, smoking, and scratching uselessly for the deeper meaning of existence—like all accomplished dropouts. The newly-formed light party talks about the reasons they got into Final Fantasy XIV, and reminisce over the first races they chose. They also discuss their first Job choices, and wonder why the game doesn't have more hybrid races running around. Well, Nadia wonders, mostly. ESO The newest chapter in the world of Tamriel, entitled Summerset, is going into pre-order pre-release on May 21st for the PC/Mac and for everyone (those plus PS4 and XBox1) on June 5th. FFXIV Patch 4.3 will be titled, Under the Moonlight, and will be available late may. New 24-player raid, continuing the Ivalice storyline, Pharos at Ridorana. New 8-player trial that is still under wraps. New Deep Dungeon, Heaven-on-High. Less of a deep dungeon and more of a tall tower. Heaven-on-High will have 30 floors of story content with floors 31-100 as challenge content. For those that have gone through stormblood, at least the Doma part of Stormblood, you might remember the large criss-cross tower in the Ruby Sea. The new FFXIV mobile app will be debuting on 4.3.

Ok, we'll be digging into News shortly, but first, let's talk about what we have been up to. Tetsemi Got through the Druid Class Order Hall and Artifact Quest line (Tank/Melee DPS) and just getting caught up on the Broken Shore quest line (stuck on the 12 wq's). Once I get caught up, I'll start on my Rogue. Also have been working on my crafting a bit, it's very much a slog on alts, compared to previous expansions, so not focusing too much on it. Dabbling in SWTOR a bit, checking out Iokath and it's dailies. Trying to find time to get into either MFN or an operation, but days have been very busy. Mewkow - In FF14, finally got my Bard to ilevel 230, so I'll be running the final dungeons for Heavensward and will be ready for the expansion. Once that is done, I'll try to grind a bit of Gil, and level gathering and crafting classes to try and have those ready for Stormblood. FC has been quite active lately, likely due to expansion hype. Sadly, new players can't join us on Gilgamesh, but lots of returning players are appearing. I will be joining in the Early Access play on the 16th, which should give me plenty of time to get pretty far in before WoW drops the Tomb in everyone's laps. Not very subtle of them to have it come out on the same day as Stormblood, which has been a known date for quite a while. Thoughts? And speaking of WoW, paladin is 110 now and with the partial catch-up of artifact knowledge, and some AP grinding, is closely catching up to my warrior so I can have the two tank types ready for Tomb. Both my FERT druid and worgen warrior are nearly at knowledge level 40 and a couple traits away from concordance. Once I get them to 40, I'll be sharing the knowledge love around to my many alts. My belf rogue is waiting for the knowledge boost before going too much deeper in that story. In SWTOR, I have been moving forward in the Fallen Empire storyline with my Bounty Hunter. In non MMO gaming, I am currently exploring the many mods that are being made for Fallout 4, now that the game is in a more final state as far as DLC goes. There are some impressive DLC like mods out there, adding tons of story and lore to the game. Some even feature voice acting, and add new factions to the game, like the Enclave from Fallout 3, and even NCR armor and power armors from other groups. A while back, I managed to get my hands on an Oculus, and I'm seeing the promise coming there. I saw a new controller being kickstarted that will bring ‘touch' to VR by having haptic feedback in a glove. The fact that it is aiming to be compatible with all the existing VR headsets is promising because the more VR becomes interchangeable in tech, the strong it becomes as a whole. For a recent real life leveling event, I got a nintendo switch. It came with the new Mario Kart, which will allow me to participate in some of the workplace gaming that's been going on lately amongst the switch owners. It's a smooth experience on the built in screen, handles nicely. I'll be trying the new Zelda game next which I hear is rather good. The only sore spot I've seen with it is inventory management and equipment breakage. Oh, and suddenly losing all sense of time while playing it. Mkallah- Phoenix Comicon- our time and misadventures. AIE News Alludra - General- We have a new Guildie of the Month! North Issier- AKA Razzy and Crokaa is a a beacon of what AIE/AIEU represent and stands for. From helping new members get settled and helping others when any questions they may have.North really shown himself to be a standup member of the community, has taken to exploration in EVE, and always jumps to help others out when they need it. Congrats, North, on being our guildie of the month. If you want to nominate someone for guildie of the month, send an email to gotm@aie-guild.org with the name of the person you are nominating in the subject line. Nominations for June's GotM will be accepted until May 12th, 2015. This is a community wide program. Nominations will be accepted for members from any game division. Tetsemi - WOW- Last weekend was the Spring Craft faire- and by all accounts, over 60 guild members benefitted from the organizing, gathering, hair pulling, and general chaos that is AIE taking over Silvermoon City! Not to mention the COOP afterwards on Saturday, and the wrap up party/raffle give away that is happening right now at Gallywix's place. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, the Craft Faire is a perfect example of what makes AIE great! OH, and this just in- Tynchal, AIE's self declared oldest member, has set up Geillis' Daily BBQ and Beer Company. (How's that for RP?) As a new member of AIE, (or any other AIE member for that matter), all you need to do is post a reply on the forums or drop Geillis a reservation request in the mail, and, she will arrange to come and get you wherever you are in Azeroth. She will portal you to Halfhill where she will hand you the ingredients you will need to begin Cooking without even making one single slice of Spiced Bread. Blah! Stuff tastes terrible anyhow! In no time at all, you will reach Cooking Level 525; and if you are at least Level 85, then we can get you to Cooking Level 600 and the title of Master Of The Ways!
