In 1945, a reverend, a realtor, a science teacher, and a white woman in a low-cut dress conspired to help a St. Louis couple buy a house. The couple had steady jobs, a down payment, and six children who needed a safe home. What they didn't have was permission — at least not according to a clause buried in the property's deed. Their attempt to move in triggered outrage from neighbors, a lawsuit, and a legal battle that climbed all the way to the United States Supreme Court, resulting in the landmark 1948 ruling in Shelley v. When William Kraemer first entered the field, strength and conditioning was, as he puts it, “primordial.” There were few standards, limited research, and little shared understanding. As one of the most influential figures in strength and conditioning, Kraemer recounts how the profession grew from humble beginnings into a science-driven discipline. That history still holds weight for coaches today. He explains why coaches are often drawn to new ideas, but progress comes from building on proven principles. Workout logs are central to his approach, and he notes how analyzing training over time can improve decision-making. He also emphasizes alignment across the performance ladder to support innovation and athlete development. As the Senior Advisor for Sports Performance and Sports Science at The Ohio State University, he shares his perspective on where the field is headed next. Apply his wisdom to stay grounded in solid principles, evaluate training with greater precision, and better serve your athletes. Reach out to Dr. Kraemer by email: Kraemer.44@osu.edu | Find Eric on Instagram: @ericmcmahoncscs and LinkedIn: @ericmcmahoncscsShow Notes“I think that search for knowledge, that understanding, that even today I well, we don't know where there's so much, we don't know. I mean, it just gets more complex as you pick up the paper. But if you have the search and the creativity that you want to really understand things and you really, well discovery, and you realize you don't know it all, then you basically build on what we know and the principles and you try to do what's best.” 13:45 “The most important thing you do is your workout logs, and I had a whole chapter on that. If you basically don't understand your workout logs and don't analyze them and look at them and then prepare your athletes to do what their next sequence workout is going to be, you got you really have to be an analytical, you know, monitor, an analytical, forensic person on the athlete's workout logs.” 29:35 “The biggest thing we have to do right now is educate sport coaches, because many of our sport coaches don't have the background that really evolved in into the present day, strength and conditioning and sports performance people or sport science people.” 35:37

How do we feed the world? It's all nice and cute this regenerative agriculture and food stuff, but how do we actually feed the world? By 2050, we'll need to produce double the amount of food. This is a question you, like me, get a lot, we bet, from banks, pension funds, large institutional players, investors in general, entrepreneurs, and eco-modernists.Our go-to answer was always: go to the most pioneering farmers and see what they can produce. But the counterargument was always: “Show me the research!". Now we have the research. In this Walking the Land episode, recorded straight from one of the most advanced farms in Europe, we talk to Simon, Kraemer, executive director of the European Alliance for Regenerative Agriculture (EARA) and the lead author of a revolutionary study where they looked at 78 of the most pioneering farms in Europe and compared them to their conventional neighbours. They analyse everything from fertiliser use, finances, and pesticides to the holiest of grails: photosynthesis. And guess what? Regenerative outperformed conventional in almost everything. Similar or higher yields, more than 75% reduction in NPKs, significantly reduced chemical use and, best of all, over the seven years they compared them, the regenerative farms kept getting better and better. More about this episode.==========================In Investing in Regenerative Agriculture and Food podcast show we talk to the pioneers in the regenerative food and agriculture space to learn more on how to put our money to work to regenerate soil, people, local communities and ecosystems while making an appropriate and fair return. Which research methods are better, quantitative or qualitative? What is more important, getting a richer picture of what goes on in organizations, or seeking generalizable insights about causality? This debate has raged at the very least since Glaser and Strauss popularized the grounded theory method in the mid twentieth century. In 2025, we want to put this debate to rest. We asked one of the best econometric scholars we know () and one of the best qualitative scholars we know () to fight this debate on air and come up with their very own end-of-all arguments. Embracing Exile: The Case for Jewish Diaspora (Oxford University Press, 2025) analyzes biblical and rabbinic texts, philosophical treatises, studies of Kabbalah, Hasidism, and a multiplicity of modern expressions for a comprehensive history of Jewish responses to and justifications of their diasporas. It shows that Diaspora Jews through the ages insisted that God joined them in their exiles, that "Zion" was found in Babylon and Eastern Europe, and that, as citizens of the world, Jews could only live throughout the world. The result is a convincing assertion that lament has not been the most common Jewish response to diaspora and that Zionism is not the natural outcome of either Jewish ideology or history. I have been fortunate in my career to have had Sam as my in-house general counsel for 20 out of the 23 years I have been in the brokerage business. He has educated me to think like an attorney and that has kept me and my clients out of trouble. The nuances in this business are limitless and Sam has a magical way of articulating complex, nuanced situations in lay-mans terms.  At the end of the day he is a relentless advocate for his agents and the clients they serve on a daily basis which is an overwhelming task in the litigious state of California! We now have a fresh start company (Covenant) in New World on Hudsonland. We are enjoying all the improvements they've made lately. We are also on the legacy server Valhalla. WoW Noob Raid is 7/8 in normal Nerubn-ar Palace. Not bad at all for a bunch of Noobs lead by a professional floor tank. WoW Classic Fresh start servers are coming up in Classic SWTOR The guild is still doing MFN on Tuesday nights at 9pm EST. We are helping everyone get their Galactic Season objectives done. Still have a couple months to finish everything up. The Public Test Server (PTS) is up with content from the next patch 7.6 on it. One of the things being tested are dynamic events, which are like world quests in other games. A new single boss operation is being tested also. Lords of Light has taken it down, but there are some different mechanics that are not working correctly right now. Should be fun when it's in the live game. There are rewards for doing 100 dynamic events and a title for defeating the operation boss. Keep an eye out for groups getting together on the PTS if you want to finish those rewards up. We have four operations (raid) teams that are running different things. Check in the SWTOR channel in discord for when spots are open and subs are needed. There are a couple teams that have some regular spots open. Join up if you want to see some different content in Star Wars: The Old Republic. FFXIV New patch is out, more MSQ, more Alliance Raid, and you can combine level 1 outfits in the glamour dresser so they only take up one slot instead of many. Also, update your adventure plates!
