We invite you to enjoy episode #63 of Hera ye, hear ye; A TX-Style Renaissance Podcast! IN this episode we visit the Once and Future General Manager, Jeff Baldwin. WE recorded this episode in the fall before the release of Ren Faire, the movie. When we spoke with Jeff he was once again the Entertainment director, after serving his second time as General Manager. He talks about the pain of losing the position and the need to return and the happiness of once again being a part of the Festival he cares so much about. Unbeknownst to him at the time of the recording, George Coulam, the volatile genius behind the Texas Renaissance Festival, would ask Jeff to return once again to be TRF's General Manager, a mere few months after this recording. In the episode he discusses returning to the festival and his hopes for the future. IT is a fascinating story of winning, losing, and redemption. Never daunted Jeff continued his mission for excellence. Always looking how best to serve the festival, his passion is unquestioned, it is easy to see why once again he would return to lead the TRF into the future.

For fifty years, George Coulam has owned the Texas Renaissance Faire, which he runs with an iron fist. Seeking to fill his remaining years with romance, the 86-year-old is considering selling the faire. His earnest general manager Jeff Baldwin believes “King George” will someday pass the reigns to him.For reasons unclear, the mercurial owner sours on his loyal employee, forcing him to share responsibility with a former elephant trainer. Meanwhile, a kettle korn vendor with deep pockets makes a play for the faire. It sparks a game of thrones among those seeking to rule, and for the future of the kingdom. The HBO Documentary series “Ren Faire” mixes cinema verité and fantasy to tell this feud among subcultures. Will the festival's temperamental monarch sell his prized asset? And how will those decisions affect those in this Shakespearean-sized story of succession?OUR SPOILER-FREE REVIEWS OF "REN FAIRE" BEGIN IN THE FINAL 11 MINUTES OF THE EPISODE.In Crime of the Week: nut case. This conversation will help you see that, and understand how it aids us in speaking with the self-professed “unbelievers” in our lives.

Being a demigod is harder than it sounds. Jeff is an English professor living in Gwangju, South Korea, who enjoys crafting stories that are weird, with an aim for finding an audience who is even weirder. ---- Story Submission ---- Got a short story you'd like to submit? Submission guidelines can be found at TallTaleTV.com ---- About Tall Tale TV ---- My name is Chris Herron, and I narrate audiobooks. In 2015, poor control of my diabetes left me legally blind for the better part of a year. The doctors predicted an 80% chance I would never see again, but I changed the way I was living and through sheer willpower beat the odds. During this time I couldn't read or write. Two things that I had been turning to for comfort since I was a small child. With the sheer amount of stress I was under, this was devastating. My wife took me by the arm, lead me into the local library, and read out titles of audiobooks to me. I chose the audiobook versions of books I had loved such as the Disc World series, Name of the Wind, Harry Potter, and more. They brought my favorite stories to life in ways I never thought possible and helped me through the darkest time of my life. Once my vision recovered, I maintained a love for audiobooks. I decided I would turn my focus from being a writer to becoming a narrator. I devised Tall Tale TV as a way to help out all the amazing authors in the writing communities I had come to love before my ordeal. I created Tall Tale TV to help aspiring authors by providing them with a promotional audiobook video. A way to showcase their skills with the written word. They say the strongest form of advertisement is word of mouth, so I provide a video to a platform of readers to help get people talking. Help them spread the word. For a Surfer, that may be hard...Especially when the waves are good. As more and more of California gets shut down day by day...the lingering fear that they may shut down the beach is a realistic threat. Surfers have been asked to Quarantine all around our community. I was curious how other surfers are dealing with their quarantine. Today's guest is San Diego's very own Scott Bass. Scott Bass is the George Washington of Surf Podcasting. He has been doing Surf Podcasting for over 10 years, before that he had a surf radio show on terrestrial radio called "Down the Line Surf Talk Radio" on San Diego's Extra Sports 1360. On Sunday mornings he would do an hour show with his co-host Jeff Baldwin. Before that he worked for SURFER Magazine and is credited with helping them launch their own version of a Podcast...back ten called Internet Radio. Scott is a born and bread San Diego native. He is a Surfer a well as a absolute frother. Scott can be categorized as a stereo typical surfer dude. Once you get past his "Yeah Guy" Slogan... you'll find a deep diver, a great writer, a critical thinker, a funny man, a radio host and a core surfer. The list goes on and on...his contributions to the surfing world are so vast its hard to mention it all here. But, one thing is for sure...Scott is a true gem of the surfing galaxy. Here is my conversation with the great Mr. Scott Bass!

In our first fall episode of Cross & Gavel, Worldview at the Abbey Provost Jeff Baldwin discusses the duty of the Church and Christian families with respect to education. Jeff tells host Mike Schutt that he thinks this may be "the most inflammatory episode of C&G to date," and he then sets the tone by suggesting that Christian parents should not think of their children as "salt and light" in the public schools until they are at least sixteen. Listen in as Mike and Jeff discuss education, worldview, and the Christian family. Jeff Baldwin is the author of The Deadliest Monster, founding faculty at Worldview Academy, and provost of the Worldview Academy bridge year program, Worldview at the Abbey in Canon City, CO.
