Kyle Crabbs joins the show to break down the biggest questions facing the Dolphins heading into the season including whether the pass rush can take a real step forward, and if Chop Robinson is ready to emerge as a difference-maker. He also reacts to reports of some Dolphins defenders arriving at camp heavier, and discusses how that added size could either help or hurt the team's overall defensive identity. On offense, Crabbs dives into Jonah Savaiinaea's development after a tough rookie year, including the decision to move him back to his natural right side and why that adjustment wasn't made sooner. The conversation also touches on Quinn Ewers' strong start in OTAs, Malik Willis building chemistry with his receivers, and the ongoing battle between Ollie Gordon and Jaylen Wright for the RB2 job, with Crabbs emphasizing that several starting roles are still very much up for grabs.
Hour 3 opens with Kyle Crabbs joining the show to break down the biggest questions facing the Dolphins, including whether the pass rush can take a step forward, Chop Robinson's development, and how several defensive players reporting to camp heavier could impact the team positively or negatively. He also discusses Jonah Savaiinaea's second-year jump and the decision to move him back to his natural right side, while weighing in on Quinn Ewers' strong OTAs, Malik Willis building chemistry with his receivers, and the ongoing RB2 battle between Ollie Gordon and Jaylen Wright, emphasizing that multiple starting jobs are still up for grabs. The conversation then shifts to the Marlins, where Otto Lopez, Xavier Edwards, and Joe Mack continue to stand out, before honoring longtime South Florida media figure Dave Hyde following his retirement after a 36-year career, as Hollywood jokes about Joe potentially stepping into a leadership role at the station. The hour wraps with NBA Finals talk, including discussion on today's three-point-heavy style of play compared to the physical eras of the past.

Garret Price and Andrew Mott return for a Goldilocks style ADP episode, going player by player to decide whether each Superflex tight end premium price is too high, too low, or just right. The conversation is built for dynasty managers trying to find value before startup and rookie drafts heat up. Listen to This Episode: Apple Podcasts Spotify YouTube The crew opens with Malik Nabers, whose price feels just right even with a noisy offseason, and Jalen Hurts, who they argue is going too low at quarterback nine. Tucker Kraft sparks a debate about paying up for a tight end coming off an ACL injury, with both leaning toward a fair but underwhelming 2026. The back half covers Breece Hall as a steady RB2, Jordan Love as a true quarterback dead zone asset, and a string of upside receivers. Jameson Williams and Nico Collins both profile as strong WR3 options with week winning upside, while Ladd McConkey lands as a just right buy with room to climb. On Wednesday, May 27, the Detroit Lions Podcast Daily opened with a quick curveball. Michael Grey recalled being at Cleveland Stadium the night Jose Canseco took a home run off his head. Then it was straight to the Detroit Lions and the NFL's running back puzzles at OTAs. Gibbs locked in as RB1 Jameer Gibbs is RB1. No debate. Expect more work than he saw down the stretch last season. The staff cut the RB2 load late in the year to about 10 to 12 touches. That let Gibbs tilt the field. It could be even more pronounced now. If you care about fantasy, Gibbs belongs at the top tier. The conversation is Gibbs or Bijan for the first running back off the board. That is where this usage is pointing. RB2 picture: Pacheco's role and a Vaki push The Lions signed Isaiah Pacheco to take the late-season David Montgomery assignment. Between the tackles. Third and three. Move the chains. It is not 15 to 20 touches. It is 10 to 12 and hard yards. That is the brief. Will someone push him? Keep an eye on Vaki. He has been the fourth back because he is invaluable on special teams. This is his third season playing running back exclusively. At Utah he was a safety who ran well when handed the ball. Now the question is simple. Can he take on more on offense and still deliver on teams? Depth, roster math, and OTAs notes Craig Reynolds, the best RB3 in football by last season's standard, is no longer in Detroit. That opens real snaps for hungry backs. Jacob Sailors is in the mix. So are holdovers Kai Robicheaux and Jabari Small. Both flashed last summer. Robicheaux did before he got hurt. Small had moments in camp. How many backs make it? Three or four. Recent history says four, with Vaki as the fourth because of special teams. But the staff could keep three on the 53 and flex a practice squad back on game weeks. OTAs will start to sort it out. Media availability does not open until Friday. Grey will not be on site this week due to the commute. The depth chart jockeying will still matter. Short yardage. Pass protection. Special teams. Those jobs decide RB3 and RB4 in June, not just big runs in August. One final note on a familiar face. David Montgomery looks good in Houston. The first thing mentioned down there is his feet. Quick and clean. That matches what Detroit saw when he carried the late-season load. Now the Lions move forward with Gibbs atop the room and Pacheco slotted for the bruising work. The rest will be won on the margins. #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #jahmyrgibbs #davidmontgomery #isiahpacheco #jabarismall #kyerobichaux #craigreynolds #lionsotas #runningbacks #joshjacobs Learn more about your ad choices. Rich Dotson, Matt O'Hara, and Garret Price are shopping for dynasty buys at quarterback and running back. This episode looks at Superflex and tight end premium values, focusing on players whose price does not match their upside, role, or long term insulation. Listen to This Episode: Apple Podcasts Spotify YouTube The crew opens with a deep dive into Cam Ward, whose rookie struggles have created a buying window entering year two. With added weapons and Brian Daboll helping shape the offense, Ward gets framed as a young quarterback who could quickly climb from QB2 pricing. They also discuss Deshaun Watson and Daniel Jones as cheaper Superflex swings. Watson carries obvious risk, but his price is nearly free. Jones offers rushing upside, a stable offense, and a clearer runway than many quarterbacks in his range. At running back, D'Andre Swift, Rachaad White, and Travis Etienne headline the buy list. Each brings a different profile, from steady RB2 production to cheap pass catching upside to a potential lead role in a fast paced offense. Garret Price and Andrew Mott close the pre-draft runway by locking in their top fives at every fantasy position—and the real takeaway isn't just the names, it's the process. They argue that if a player is moving more than a few spots post-draft, it's usually a mistake. Big ADP risers are more likely to bust, and the NFL Draft should be used to break ties and clarify Day 3, not rewrite your board. Listen to This Episode: Apple Podcasts Spotify YouTube They open by calling out the most common dynasty leak this time of year: letting the NFL Draft swing opinions too far. The exception is when the league is drastically lower than expected on a player, which should trigger a reevaluation, not an automatic fade. The goal is conviction, not consensus. At quarterback, it's a Superflex-first conversation, led by Fernando Mendoza as the clear QB1, with the tier breaks after that shaping how aggressively you should chase the rest of the class. At running back, Jeremiyah Love is the clear RB1, while the RB2 tier is a tight cluster where landing spot and draft capital will decide the order between Mike Washington Jr., Jonah Coleman, and Jadarian Price, with Emmett Johnson getting real love as the RB5 swing. Wide receiver is where the variance shows up. Andrew's WR group is led by Jordyn Tyson, with Carnell Tate and Makai Lemon close behind, then KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston in the mix. Garret's list is more aggressive on upside and has Omar Cooper inside the top tier, while still acknowledging Boston as the “safer” archetype compared to the boom bust profiles behind him. At tight end, they largely agree on the names at the top—Eli Stowers and Kenyon Sadiq headline the class—but disagree on how to order the mid-tier, with the conversation shaped by how much you're willing to bet on traits versus profile risk. Dynasty Nerds goes full draft-night game mode with an “over/under” episode that's basically built for comments: pick a line, pick higher or lower, and lock in your guesses before Thursday. With just Garret and Andrew, the entire show is about translating draft range into dynasty value swings, especially in a class where teams reportedly don't have much consensus. Listen to This Episode: Apple Podcasts Spotify YouTube They start at the very top with Carnell Tate and treat the “6.5” line like a real indicator of league-wide WR demand, with Cleveland and Tennessee feeling like the most logical fits. Then the fun one hits: Jeremiyah Love at 6.5. Love “should” go that early, but the team fit is messy enough that they explore the trade-up scenarios, landing on the idea that Washington at 7 is a real outcome if the board breaks right. The episode then shifts into first-round macro questions like “Do we get a second QB in Round 1?” with Ty Simpson getting the nod as the likely name to sneak in. Jordan Tyson gets a top-11 conversation that hinges on his pro day and medical confidence. Then comes the tight end curveball: Eli Stowers at 32.5. They love the fantasy “WR at TE” angle, but they're realistic about the NFL lens. If a player can't block, it's hard to justify top-20 capital, so Stowers is framed as a strong early Day 2 bet rather than a locked-in first rounder. The RB2 line turns into a debate about whether we get a true Round 2 back or if the class gets pushed into Round 3. Chris Brazzell becomes the classic “speed and length gets drafted” argument, with disagreement on whether he's inside the top 50. They close with broader market calls, like over/under 5.5 WRs in Round 1, plus smaller lines like Emmett Johnson being more likely Day 3, and Taylen Green as a traits-based QB dart who still probably lands outside the first four rounds. 1. Many (if not most) are very down on this year's RB class. Mel Kiper, Jr. says he believes there are only 3 or 4 RB's maximum that are worth a top-100 pick. That said, others, including friend of the program Bill Carroll, say that this RB crop isn't as bad as many think. What are your overall thoughts on the 2026 RB class? 2. Since 2017, five RB's have been selected in the top-10: Leonard Fournette, Christian McCaffrey, Saquon Barkley, Bijan Robinson, and Ashton Jeanty. Jeremiyah Love will obviously become the sixth this year. In what order would you rank those six RB's as prospects, and why?3. Why do you have Mike Washington, Jr. as RB2 in this draft as opposed to Jadarian Price? 4. What makes Jonah Coleman worth a Day 2 pick? 5. Based on what you saw on film, what makes Michael Trigg the TE1 in this draft over Kenyon Sadiq? If it weren't for his maturity issues, do you think more NFL teams would have Trigg higher than Sadiq on their boards? 6. Do you think Sam Roush's historically short arms for the TE position automatically disqualify him from playing in-line at the NFL level?7. Would you be surprised if Oscar Delp ends up being selected in the top-100, if not the top-75? 8. Buy or Sell-Emmett Johnson (late round 3/early round 4)-Le'Veon Moss (late round 3/early round 4)-Nick Singleton (early-to-mid round 4)-Roman Hemby (early-to-mid round 4)-Demond Claiborne (mid-to-late round 4)-Kaytron Allen (late round 4/early round 5)-Seth McGowan (early-to-mid round 5)-Rahsul Faison (rounds 5-6)-Noah Whittington (rounds 6-7)-Eli Stowers (early-to-mid round 2)-Max Klare (late round 2/early round 3)-Jack Endries (late round 3/early round 4)-Joe Royer (late round 3/early round 4) -Justin Joly (late round 3/early round 4)-Nate Boerkircher (early-to-mid round 4)-Tanner Koziol (mid-to-late round 4)-Eli Raridon (late round 4/early round 5)-Riley Nowakowski (rounds 5-6)
Rich Dotson, Matt O'Hara, and Garret Price close out the class with six running backs who, outside of the top tier, struggle to inspire confidence in any dynasty format. Jadarian Price out of Notre Dame may carry the "consensus RB2" label in many dynasty circles, but all three hosts come away largely underwhelmed. Price earns nerd scores in the low-to-mid 73s — respectable for this class, but not the kind of tape that inspires first-round dynasty capital. His vision, patience, and contact balance are legitimate strengths, but his near-total absence from the passing game (just 15 career receptions) is a glaring red flag in PPR formats. The hosts land on Price as a prototypical 1.5-to-2-year window guy — the kind of back an NFL team leans on in a pinch before eventually upgrading. Solid, not special. Nick Singleton came into Penn State with first-round buzz and a reputation as the premier running back in his recruiting class. What the Dynasty Nerds film room found was something far less exciting. Singleton scores a 70.8 (Rich) and 69.8 (Garret) — RB5 by default in a shallow class. He has the size, speed, and pass-catching ability to intrigue NFL teams, but his vision is described as "atrocious," his hips are tight, and he offers zero wiggle in the open field. He's a straight-line athlete playing running back rather than a polished NFL prospect. The crew agrees he's a late Day 3 pick — a high-ceiling project that dynasty managers should treat as a third-round flier at best. Le'Von Moss from Texas A&M had just seven games last season before tearing his MCL and ACL, and the limited film makes a full evaluation nearly impossible. When healthy, the crew acknowledges real tools — initial burst, angry running style, low pad level, and surprisingly better lateral movement than Singleton. But with only 121 career carries at his peak and no involvement in the passing game (two career receptions in 2025), Moss falls into the fourth tier of this class. Garret scores him a 68.7. The health question mark simply overshadows everything else. Jam Miller from Alabama carries the stigma of Crimson Tide running backs without the résumé to back it up. His 4.42 40-yard dash was legitimately surprising, and his pass protection grades are a relative bright spot, but that's about it. Poor vision, missed cutback lanes, and a concerning inability to break tackles leave the hosts stumped on how he gets drafted. Rich scores him a 65.6; Garret gives him a 63.7. The consensus: great athlete in the real world, not a dynasty asset in this one. Roman Hemby out of Indiana is everything you expect from a backup running back — nothing more, nothing less. He reads blocks well, almost never fumbles (two career fumbles on 710 carries), catches the ball adequately, and runs with purpose. But he lacks burst, top-end speed, and any ability to make defenders miss after contact. Garret scores him a 67.5. Rich identifies him as the best run blocker in this entire class. He'll stay on rosters because coaches will like him — but if he's ever starting, his team is already making calls. A true baked potato. No butter. The wild card of the episode is Rahsul Faison from South Carolina — a 26-year-old prospect who started college football in 2019, before COVID, and somehow scores a 70.5 on Rich's nerd scale (sixth in the class on tape alone). The age kills his dynasty outlook, but the tape is surprisingly watchable: genuine elusiveness, strong instincts, natural hands, and a high forced-missed-tackle rate per PFF. The hosts agree he's more of a priority free agent or late-round flier than a dynasty stash — but in a class this thin, even a 26-year-old with good tape stands out. His taxi squad eligibility running out before he'd realistically age off your roster is half the selling point. The 2026 running back class outside of Jeremiyah Love is genuinely one of the weakest in recent memory. The Dynasty Nerds College Show is back, and Garret Price, Jagger May, and Andrew Mott are breaking down their composite top ten running backs in this year's NFL Draft class. Spoiler alert: there's one unanimous number one, a clear top tier, and then a whole lot of questions. Jeremiyah Love is the unanimous RB1 in this class and it isn't close. The crew compares him to Bijan Robinson as one of the best receiving backs any of them have scouted. Behind him, Mike Washington Jr., Jadarian Price, and Jonah Coleman form a clear second tier, though the hosts admit Washington carries the highest ceiling while Price offers the safest floor. Coleman's refusal to test at the combine left Garret scratching his head, dropping him from RB2 to RB4 on his personal board. From RB5 on, this class is defined by uncertainty. Emmett Johnson boasts elite underlying metrics including a 39% Dominator Rating, the highest of any back discussed, but his combine testing raises red flags. Nick Singleton has the tools but not the technique. Kayron Allen, Le'Veon Moss, Demond Claiborne, and Jadyn Ott each carry their own unique set of questions, making this a draft class where landing spot and opportunity could matter more than prospect profile. Check the Dynasty Rankings before your rookie draft and stay sharp with the Rookie Big Boards as the class continues to take shape. Start Using the Film Room Today! From a hotel breakfast room in Michigan, Jeff Risdon set a practical free agency roadmap for the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The legal tampering period opens Monday. Signings start Wednesday. Expect targeted moves over splashy pursuits. Free Agency, Not a Spending Spree Big-ticket names sit out there. Hendrickson was the example. Tyler Lindenbaum at center came up too. Both would be great. Both feel unlikely. A bidding war does not fit the Lions plan. The focus is cost, fit, and familiarity. Scheme matters. Character matters. Past connections to Lions coaches and staff matter. That is the lane. Smart contracts for players who match what the Detroit Lions do, not headline chases. The door is open to being surprised, but the expectation is restraint. Quarterback Room: Keep It Steady The quarterback spot is simple. The team is built around Jared Goff. Kyle Allen as a solid No. 2 works. Bring him back and keep the operation clean. If Allen returns, there is no need to add another veteran. Detroit can still bring in a project as a No. 3. Think a UFL quarterback or an undrafted rookie. Even a low-cost trade for a developmental arm was mentioned. Sam Howell was floated for a laugh more than football reasons. Status quo at quarterback is fine. Backfield Help and a Budget WR4 Running back is a need. The question is investment level at RB2 now that David Montgomery is gone. Detroit wants a complement to Jamir Gibbs. Eight to twelve touches per game. Reliable hands. Good pass protection. A runner who hits the crease without delay. Wilson was the top name on the realistic board. A sturdy between-the-tackles runner with dependable receiving. He has been a second option before and can be that again next to Gibbs. Later in the market, an Isaiah Pacheco type fits too. Downhill. Short-yardage strength. Willing in pass protection. A past knee injury was noted, but the style matches what the Lions can afford if they avoid high prices. At wide receiver, the top three are set, with Saint Jr. and Teslaa among the group. They will command most of the targets. Kalif Raymond can return as the kick returner on a short deal. Another team might view him as a WR3, so price matters. Detroit should not pay a premium for WR4. A ring-chasing veteran could still make sense. DeAndre Hopkins fits if the number is small. Think a one-year, 3.5 million dollar deal with incentives. Strong hands. Savvy routes. Willing blocker. He knows he is not the feature. It is not a priority, and the money may play better elsewhere, especially with internal options like Dominic Lovett coming. But if the price is right, it helps the room. #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #legaltamperingperiod #hendrickson #tylerlindenbaum #jaredgoff #kyleallen #uflquarterback #undraftedrookie #rb2complement #jamirgibbs #davidmontgomerydeparture Learn more about your ad choices. 7:00 HOUR: Two Grand Slam, What do the Lions do at RB2?
Montgomery Dealt to Houston: Terms and Timing The Detroit Lions traded David Montgomery to the Houston Texans on Monday morning. Detroit received a 2026 fourth-round pick, a 2027 seventh-round pick, and offensive lineman Juice Scruggs. The move followed a tense 24 hours in which Montgomery publicly pushed back on reports of his trade request. He wanted out. The compensation includes a fourth Houston owns among multiple selections. Another Houston trade also hit earlier in the day, adding to the churn. Why Detroit Moved On This came down to role, cost, and touches. Montgomery was the NFL's 12th-highest-paid running back. His workload slipped to about 10 touches per game behind Jameer Gibbs. That math did not fit the Lions cap plan. Detroit frees money with the deal. The staff valued his production. He was more efficient in 2025 than in 2024. He was also a very good pass protector. That skill will be missed. But paying starter money for a No. 2 back on a light workload was not sustainable. Roster Fallout: RB2 Search Starts Now The depth chart has a hole at RB2. Vaki was drafted to play special teams. Injuries have slowed his work at running back. The staff does not see him as ready for a bigger role. Jacob Saylors remains in the room. The Lions must add another back. Third-down protection and short-yardage snaps are now open questions behind Gibbs. The front office saw this coming and acted fast. They refused to let a noisy situation linger. Scruggs Arrives, Houston Reacts Detroit adds Scruggs to the offensive line mix. The expectation is utility and competition on the interior. On the Houston side, reaction is mixed. The Texans traded Titus Howard earlier in the day. Fans there like Montgomery's durability and lead-back traits. They also worry about who will block for him after the Howard move. From Detroit's view, the fourth-rounder helps stock draft capital. The seventh adds a swing. The lineman gives depth now. The cost was a productive back who wanted a larger role. The Lions reset the room and keep building for 2026 and beyond. #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #davidmontgomery #jameergibbs #rb2hole #passprotector #caproom #houstontexans #juicescruggs #2026fourth-roundpick #2027seventh-roundpick #bradholmes #dancampbell #jacobsaylors #vakispecialteams #10touchespergame #12th-highest-paidrunningback Learn more about your ad choices. Combine week mock draft season is here, and Garret Price is joined by Andrew Mott to lock in a pre-Combine baseline: a two-round Superflex, tight end premium rookie mock that captures how they feel before testing, draft capital, and landing spots reshape the board. At 1.01, Jeremiyah Love is treated as the clear, no-drama selection in this format, with both hosts basically agreeing it would take something extreme to move off that spot. From there, Superflex value pushes Fernando Mendoza to 1.02, setting the tone for how aggressively quarterback can climb in this build. The top receiver conversation follows quickly. Carnell Tate gets the “safe profile” stamp near the top, while Jordyn Tyson comes off the board as a tape-driven WR1 type pick, even with Combine participation questions lingering. Makai Lemon stays firmly in the mix, and KC Concepcion is framed as one of the biggest “measurements and speed” swing players of the week. The mid-first pivots into playmaking and positional leverage, with Omar Cooper Jr. rising on the strength of space play and after-catch upside, and Kenyon Sadiq entering the conversation as the tight end premium value play. The back half of Round 1 rounds out with archetype receiver builds and more scarcity pressure: Denzel Boston and Germie Bernard come off the board, the RB2 conversation starts with Jadarian Price, and the quarterback swing at the end lands on Ty Simpson. Round 2 opens with running back scarcity forcing action as Jonah Coleman comes off the board early. The next pick leans into a traits-and-pathway bet with Emmett Johnson, with the discussion focusing on how receiving usage can create fantasy relevance if the opportunity appears. Receiver profiles then split into two lanes: outside archetypes and high-upside “hit one big play” bets. Ja'Kobi Lane headlines the outside profile conversation, while Mike Washington Jr. becomes a focal RB pick because size plus usable hands can create immediate NFL interest if the testing holds. Tight end premium comes back into play with Eli Stowers and Max Klare both getting love as prospects who could earn roles faster than the market expects. The late second becomes pure swing territory, featuring Ted Hurst and injured upside with Chris Bell, before the mock closes with another outside receiver bet in Elijah Sarratt and a final running back selection in Kaytron Allen.
The 2024 running back class is considered one of the worst in recent memory. Injuries have significantly impacted the top running backs in the class. Metrics such as big time run rate and yards per route run are crucial for evaluating running backs. Jeremiah Love is widely regarded as the RB1 in this class. Judarian Price and Jonah Coleman are contenders for the RB2 spot. Mike Washington is a rising star with solid metrics. Emmett Johnson is a controversial prospect with volume stats but lacks efficiency. Efficiency is more important than volume for running backs in the NFL. There are several sleeper picks in this class worth considering. The running back class is heavily dependent on landing spots and draft capital. Combine week is here, and Ceiling and Floor is back before the real testing starts. Jagger May and Andrew Mott run through a slate of running backs with ceiling and floor comps, while repeating an important reminder: these are stylistic outcomes, not destiny. The episode starts with Jeremiah Love as the clear top name in the class, with big, usage-driven upside and rare receiving potential. From there, they dig into the next tier of backs and what could swing outcomes at the next level: lateral agility for Jadarian Price, pass pro and role certainty for Emmett Johnson, and how speed testing could make or break the outlook for Jonah Coleman. Later, the discussion turns to the broader “don't over-draft this class” warning, especially for dynasty players who might fall in love with RB2 in this group without comparing the talent to other NFL backs. That context shows up again when they get into Kaytron Allen, Mike Washington Jr., Nicholas Singleton, and Demond Claiborne, where landing spot, role, and Combine numbers could cause major movement. Behind Love, this class has more unanswered questions than usual. The crew argues that the Combine will be critical for sorting out who can erase athletic concerns, who needs specific coaching to unlock receiving or pass protection, and who might be pushed down boards when the testing confirms the doubts. Jagger May and Andrew Mott dive deep into six sleeper prospects who could make noise in the 2026 NFL draft on the brand new Draft Nerds pod. The guys break down running back Emmett Johnson from Nebraska, who posted 1,451 yards and 12 touchdowns while showing elite receiving skills with 46 catches. Andrew sees potential as the RB2 in this class, comparing him to Chase Brown and Rico Dowdle. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss from Ole Miss gets mixed reviews due to arm strength concerns, though his mobility could land him in the right situation. Wide receiver Eric McAllister from TCU brings size at six foot three but has limited route running. Bryce Lance from North Dakota State, brother of Trey Lance, shows high motor and contested catch ability heading into the Senior Bowl. The episode wraps with tight end Michael Trigg from Baylor, a 642 pound athlete who could sneak into rookie draft first rounds given the weak class.
