What do Donald Trump and Postman Pat have in common? Well Pat has grabbed Jess the cat a few times and Donald... well we won't finish that. What they REALLY have in common is they're both performed excellently by our guest - impressionist Lewis MacLeod. British listeners may know Lewis from his work on the BBC comedy Dead Ringers where he plays the voice of not just Donald Trump but also Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage. Imagine having to get inside those three characters! That's why Lewis is the perfect person to speak to about understanding your Earth leaders. If that's not enough he's also been in a Star Wars movie and you will not guess where George Lucas took him for lunch. Enjoy the 40th episode of Trash Talk... Hosted on Acast. For this week's show, Harriet is joined by An Ai Producer Martin as her co-host, but we don't think you'll be able to tell the difference! Together, they speak to the new and former President of America, Donald J. Trump, about his plans to go to Mars and why we need more magenta. They also speak to Britain's Man In The Magaverse Nigel Farage MP, about how he could probably get into the inaugural party if he wanted to and why we need to drill for oil in the UK. We also hear a Hot & Spicy Takeaway from Eshaan Akbar about Prince Harry's foiled attempt to make free speech illegal. Thanks to Lorna for signing up to our Patreon this week. Season 6 - Episode 34Hey there, all you seekers of the beyond, it's your spiritual sherpa, Clinton Baptiste, and the ever-fascinating Linda, back for another week of paranormal pandemonium! As we inch closer to All Hallows' Eve, Linda and I take a ghostly stroll down memory lane, reminiscing about those spine-chilling nights of Halloween mischief. And speaking of chilling, Linda's off to the serene Lake District soon. A perfect spot for some soul-searching, I always say! Now, listen up as we delve into the preposterous tales of Take a Break Fate & Fortune! First, we've got a cashier from the afterlife coming back just to check on customer service standards. Absolute bollocks, if you ask me! Then there's a yarn about a man and the creepy sounds emanating from Marilyn Monroe's crypt. Coincidence or the stirrings of a restless spirit?I pick up the phone to mend fences with Ramone after our, let's say, "colourful" conversation last week. But brace yourselves, because the dialogue takes another left turn when he starts mimicking my late mum. Oh, Ramone.....away and shite!!!We jet-set to Accrington where Adam Anwar has a three-spirit tale featuring his late grandma, and to New Zealand, where Gavin Downey's story of spectral encounters at 2 a.m. leaves us scratching our heads. Gavin, darling, a full stop never killed anyone!Linda and I once again scour the pages of your favourite psychic magazines to solve your existential conundrums. We find Keely Potts using psychometry to solve life's minor annoyances. Absolute rubbish, but oh so entertaining.Lastly, we speak to PC Chris Lawrence, a fellow spiritual traveler. Chris recounts a harrowing story from the Scottish Highlands, featuring a spectral figure that'd make even the bravest copper's blood run cold.Stay tuned, hold on to your third eye, and get ready for a wild ride into the unknown!Peace, love, and ethereal vibes,Clint.xCredits:Kathrine BoyleGavin DowneyAdam AnwarChris LawrenceLewis Macleod as Ramone• Podcast produced by Laurie Peters from Peters-Fox.• Outro music by GLOWE.Share your own spooky stories at clinton@clintonbaptiste.comFind more Clinton Baptiste merchandise at https://ko-fi.com/clintonbaptiste/shopwww.clintonbaptiste.com Get bonus content on Patreon Hosted on Acast. Aldi, Tarot, and Ghostly Footsteps: A Paranormal PotpourriGreetings, dear listeners! Linda and I are back with a jam-packed show full of the uncanny, the mystical, and—believe it or not—the budget-friendly. Yes, Linda starts us off by heralding the arrival of a new Aldi store in her hometown, effectively dethroning Tesco as the local retail kingpin. In our Tarot segment, we delve into the tale of a woman who used the ancient art of tarot to make monumental changes in her life. From a promising new job to transforming her relationships, she's a living testament to the transformative power of the cards. She even lit a candle for good measure!Fresh from a soul-stirring healing festival near Inverness, our dear friend Ramone joins us. Brace yourselves, for his spiritual enlightenment quickly spirals into a wildly unpredictable conversation. Let's just say Ramone is not the man we once knew.As we journey deeper into the eerie, we explore a chilling story sent to us by Peter Green. Was his ghostly encounter genuine, or was it a hallucination from, let's say, herbal indulgences? Regardless, Peter lands himself on our infamous leaderboard (Patreon access only)Alright, folks, we need you to start sending your problems to CLINTON@CLINTONBAPTISTE.COM. Our inaugural quandary comes from Chat Take Break magazine, featuring a 47-year-old woman struggling to find a genuine man. Tune in as we do what we do best: problem-solving with a dash of paranormal flair. The supernatural journey continues as we hear from Owen Thomas. Owen recounts his harrowing stay in a house backed onto a graveyard—think footsteps on stairs and objects mysteriously relocating. How tedious can a ghost get, eh?Finally, we cap off the episode with Lindsay Santoro from Leicester, who experienced a smoky apparition in the most haunted room of a hotel during a wedding. Her spooky rating? A solid 3 out of 10.So buckle up, everybody—it's time to ride the paranormal wave once more.Love and Light, Clint.xCredits:Kathrine BoylePeter GreenLindsey SantoroOwen ThomasLewis Macleod as Ramone• Podcast produced by Laurie Peters from Peters-Fox.• Outro music by GLOWE.Share your own spooky stories at clinton@clintonbaptiste.comFind more Clinton Baptiste merchandise at https://ko-fi.com/clintonbaptiste/shopwww.clintonbaptiste.com Get bonus content on Patreon Hosted on Acast. The international break drags on, but on the plus side, there's no Rangers to talk about for Shane, David and Peter on this week's CROpod. Crossover-content as Richard Nixon made some headlines this week, plus we say goodbye to Lewis Macleod in a manner about as brief as his shining moments for the club. Most of the second half is spent tackling listener questions, which means of course that we begin to answer questions and then reminisce about World Cups of yore. Let Clinton celebrate Christmas with your family!Something for everyone this year. The world famous clairvoyant medium and psychic welcomes back his former PA, Ruth Abbott to collect some of her belongings. But no touching, please. He also contacts the loving spirit of someone's father this time manifesting on earth as a Daddy Longlegs and…who's that tapping on Clinton's Yuletide knocker? - it's his scintillating sibling, Karen. Our Clinton brilliantly predicts what she's got him for Christmas Day. Next, for you younger listeners, Clinton offers up a magical story, when he reads a passage from his new kids' book “Taruak and Santa in Greenland”. What a shame then that some busybody from the Greenlandic Minstry for Culture gets in touch to complain about a piffling copyright issue. And what's this? Those bureaucratic ‘no-marks' in grey suits have even grassed him up to Sir David Attenborough no less, who is far from happy! However, when all's said and done it's festive fun that Clinton is all about and he manages to turn things around with an exciting world record attempt – to contact twenty spirits in under two minutes - Wow!Starring Alex LoweWith Sally- Anne Hayward, Sarah Thom, Toby Longworth, Rich Wilson, Kate Mcgann, Josh Cluderay and Lewis MacleodWritten by Alex Lowe and Josh Cluderay with additional material by Lewis Macleod and the cast.Produced by Andy Hughes for 11-29 MediaClinton Baptiste appears courtesy of Goodnight Vienna Productions.TO SEE CLINTON AND RAMONE LIVE ON TOUR ALL OVER THE UK FROM SEPT- DEC 2022 go to Clintonbaptiste.com/live.

Roger Bolton looks at the BBC's coverage of Donald Trump, the Dead Ringers team reveal what spurred them on in their latest popular series, and listeners react to the news that Saturday Review has been granted a late reprieve. At a press conference shortly after his inauguration, Donald Trump referred to the BBC's Jon Sopel as "Another beauty". On this week's Feedback, the beauty himself joins Roger to consider listener response to his coverage, how the BBC tries to remain impartial in the face of an unusual presidency and whether the BBC is giving either too much or too little credence to the ongoing allegations of collusion between Donald Trump's campaign and Russia. Many listeners have contacted Feedback to say how much they've enjoyed the latest series of Dead Ringers. So how do they do it? Jan Ravens, Jon Culshaw and Lewis Macleod discuss why breakneck news can make for blistering satire. In April, Radio 4 announced the cancellation of long running arts staple Saturday Review. Feedback listeners were furious - and made their views clear in no uncertain terms. This week, Radio 4 controller Gwyneth Williams announced an abrupt - but possibly temporary - reversal of the decision. Saturday Review enthusiasts respond to the news. Patricia Greene has been on The Archers since the 1950s, playing the much loved Jill Archer. So when the now 86 year old actress was played a clip of herself as Jill from 1959 during an interview on Woman's Hour she barely recognised her own voice. Listeners react to a special radio moment. Producer: Will Yates A Whistledown production for BBC Radio 4.
